But then again, his own panel is probably a reduced version, because it doesn't even have a map function. Albert was in a good mood and made fun of his own panel.
There was no way around it. In the online novels he had read before, the system that the main character had was usually awesome. After turning on the scanning function, everything was exposed.
Now, when he thought about it, his own panel function was really pitiful.
In fact, Albert was very happy to have a panel as a Gold Finger.
"I remember the Headmaster's Office is also on the eighth floor, but I don't know where it is on the eighth floor." Albert muttered.
Of course, he had no intention of going to the Headmaster's Office. If the old man Dumbledore noticed him, his life at school would be difficult.
After all, there are portraits everywhere in Hogwarts Castle, and it is still very easy for Dumbledore to find out what a student is doing.
Albert took two more turns and found a staircase going down.
He followed the stairs down and began to wander around the castle, only to find himself hopelessly lost.
Well, maybe it wasn't lost, just that he had never been here before.
Albert stopped in front of a wall, and the light from his wand swept over the carvings on the wall. He reached out and tapped it lightly. It was solid.
However, Albert suspected that there was a secret passage here. There was no way around it. The Griffin carving on the wall was too suspicious. Usually, there would be a secret door or passage hidden in such places.
"What are you doing here, boy?" Nick emerged from the wall next to him and looked at Albert, who was examining the carving, in surprise.
Albert was startled by this sudden voice. He felt his heart almost jump out of his chest.
Albert took a few deep breaths to calm his racing heart and couldn't help but complain to Nick, "Don't sneak up on people, you'll scare them to death."
"Sorry, I didn't think I would scare you." Nick raised his eyebrows and asked again, "What are you doing here?"
"Walking." Albert answered honestly.
"Walking, at this time?" Nick looked at the corridor in confusion. It was still early.
"Yes, walking. Sir Nicholas, I wonder if you have time to help me explore Hogwarts. It's like a maze here, and I got lost while I was walking." Albert smiled at Nick, and if the other person was willing to help, he could save a lot of time.
"Oh, I think exploring the castle is a great fun for freshmen." Nick tactfully refused.
"You're right." Albert didn't care about Nick's refusal, smiled and said goodbye. Then he continued to study the Griffin in front of him.
Nick looked at Albert's back and shook his head to remind him, "If you want to open that door, the switch is on the paw of the Griffin."
"Thank you." Albert said, reaching out to the paw of the Griffin and knocking it gently a few times. The stone door slowly opened, revealing a narrow secret passage inside.
"See you later, Sir Nicholas." Albert nodded slightly to the ghost to express his gratitude, and then raised his wand and walked into the secret passage.
It was very narrow and could only accommodate one person at a time, so it was definitely not a good place for someone with claustrophobia.
Albert was going down, and he didn't know where the secret passage led to, but the fact that he had discovered it was good news for Albert.
Sure enough, the ghosts and portraits living in the castle knew more about Hogwarts.
The exit was hidden behind a portrait, which Albert removed. The old man in his nightshirt glared at him angrily and complained that Albert had disturbed his rest.
"Sorry, sorry!" Albert apologised to the old man in the portrait and continued on his way. He felt that he might get lost again.
However, this time Albert found the grand staircase.
No matter how many times he saw it, he still thought the scene of the grand staircase was spectacular.
It is said that both the grand staircase and the Room of Requirement were the work of Rowena Ravenclaw. I wonder if I will ever be able to achieve such a level of skill?
Incidentally, did Rowena Ravenclaw hide any secrets in the Room of Requirement?
After all, didn't Slytherin keep a basilisk in his Chamber of Secrets?
That does make sense. Next time I go there, I could try to find out if there are any secrets.
Albert took ten minutes to descend the stairs, and on the way encountered a change in the stairs, so he had to stay where he was and wait for the stairs to return to their original state. Fortunately, he didn't have to wait for too long. Thank goodness, or rather, now it was time to thank Merlin.
As soon as he entered the foyer, Albert was attracted by a cat. The cat was a bit thin, with dark grey fur, and was in no way comparable to his own Tom.
He bent down to pet it, but the cat ran off so quickly that it was gone in a flash.
Albert knew that it was probably the caretaker Filch's cat, whose name was Mrs. Something. Although he had read the Harry Potter books and seen the movies, he had forgotten some of the minor details over time, especially the names of the supporting characters.
If he hadn't written fan fiction and researched the names, he would have forgotten even more.
The cat had run off, presumably to call for help. Albert wasn't worried that Filch would come looking for him.
After all, it was already past six o'clock, and it wasn't even fully light outside, just because it was raining.
As Albert was about to enter the Great Hall, a grunting sound came from the direction of the door. Filch, who was a bit elderly, was approaching with a lantern in his hand.
Albert noticed that Filch was still in his pajamas, wearing only a cloak, and that a smile of satisfaction was on his lips.
"Good morning, Mr Filch." Albert said, raising his hand to greet him as if they were old friends.
"Good morning?" Filch reached out to grab Albert, but he easily stepped back and avoided him.
"Of course, it's 6:15 a.m., Mr. Filch." said Albert, taking out his pocket watch, checking the time and holding it up to Filch's face. "When does the dining hall open?"
Filch was taken aback, because Albert had deliberately moved his wand to the watch so that he could see the time better.
Filch, who had thought he had caught a student out late at night, suddenly looked dejected, like a child who had heard that the Halloween Feast had been cancelled.
In fact, it was already morning, although it was still dark and no other students had woken up yet.
"7 o'clock." said Filch, turning away in a huff. Before leaving, he left a comment: "Better not let me see..."
Albert didn't hear the last few words clearly, anyway they weren't important.
But did Filch really hate students?
He would have liked to lock them all up in the dungeon.
He pushed open the door to the Great Hall, which was very dark. The floating candles had gone out, and there was no trace of the lively scene from the previous evening.
Albert turned and left, ready to continue exploring the castle kitchen while he still could.
