As the day went on, Hogwarts castle, which had been quiet all night, came to life again.
Albert occasionally ran into other students in the corridors and passageways. It could be said that sleeping in is in most people's nature, especially at weekends, when there is no need to get up early, and most people would rather sleep a little longer.
It was still drizzling outside the castle, and most students would stay in the Great Hall to chat. There were also a few unlucky ones who had not finished their homework in time and were busy copying their summer homework.
On their way to explore the castle, the Weasley Twins and Lee Jordan couldn't help but sneak off first.
However, Albert still spent the morning exploring the vast castle and took many interesting photos with his camera. When he returned to the Great Hall after his tour, he felt a slight pain in his calves.
The trip was quite rewarding. Albert was able to draw a rough map of the castle with his memory.
Although he had heard that some of the stairs in Hogwarts' changed position every Friday, Albert didn't worry about it. He would figure it out when the time came.
It was worth mentioning that the progress of the Quest to Explore Hogwarts had reached 26.7%.
"Why are you here alone? Where are your friends?" Angelina and another girl walked over and sat down in the chair opposite Albert.
"They ran off while we were exploring the castle." Albert picked up a piece of bread from the plate and prepared to make himself a sandwich. "The three of them must have found something interesting. Pass me the blueberry jam, please."
"How's your map of the castle coming along? Can I take a look?" Angelina pushed the blueberry jam bottle to her right and pointed to the parchment on Albert's left.
"I still think you should explore the castle on your own. It's one of the joys of being a new student." Albert handed the parchment to the girl on the other side of the table and reached for the blueberry jam.
"What's that?" Alicia leaned over and looked at the simple sketch, frowning slightly. It was a bit hard for her to read, but she could see some markings for secret passages and classrooms, and where the stairs needed to be crossed.
"Oh, yes, this is our timetable." Albert made two more copies of the timetable and handed them to the two people on the other side.
"What kind of magic is that?" Angelina asked curiously.
"Doubling Charm. It can turn one item into two." Alicia, who was born into a family of wizards, recognised the spell that Albert had used at a glance.
Not all wizard families adopted the Weasley policy of letting their children roam free. Alicia had received a good education from a young age and had a higher starting point than most students.
"A very useful little trick, isn't it?" Albert winked at the two and continued, "With this, you don't need to take notes. You can just borrow someone else's."
Alicia looked at Albert with a strange look. She always felt that this guy's logic was different from others.
"Can you get me one? Then I won't have to worry about not being able to find my way to the classroom."
"Aren't you worried that the map is wrong?" Albert asked in return.
"Of course I'll check it myself:" Alicia said matter-of-factly.
"Do you want one?" Albert looked at Angelina.
"Thank you." said Angelina with a smile.
Hogwarts castle was indeed huge, and it was easy for new students to get lost. With Albert's map, at least they knew where to go.
Being late on the first day of school was not a good start.
"By the way, I remember you said you came from a muggle family." said Alicia, putting away the map and asking, "How did you learn so many charms? I bet most of the new students don't know as many charms as you do."
"I learned them before school started, when I was practising. Most of them are pretty simple." Albert spread blueberry jam on a slice of bread and took a big bite. It tasted good, but he couldn't stand eating the same thing all day.
"Simple?" The two of them looked at each other and suddenly felt an inexplicable pressure.
After getting their own wands, most new students try to use the magic in the books. Angelina and Alicia were no exception. They had both learned some simple magic, but it was definitely not as easy as Albert had made it sound, as if learning magic was as easy as eating a piece of bread.
After finishing the blueberry bread, Albert made himself a sandwich.
British lunches are never very satisfying, and Hogwarts is no exception. Bread and potatoes are always the main course here.
This lunch consists of bread, boiled potatoes, fresh vegetable salad and salted ham. Of course, it also comes with a large pot of milk tea or pumpkin juice.
After finishing his ham sandwich, Albert put two potatoes with their skins on his plate. After wandering around the castle all morning, his stomach was already hungry.
That said, at meal time, there was actually no sign of the other three, and he didn't know where they had run off to.
"I really miss rice and pasta." Albert muttered to himself, continuing to bury his head in the potatoes with skins on his plate.
Potatoes are one of the staple foods of the British, and he has eaten them almost every day for many years. The people of this country can even make 100 different dishes from potatoes.
Although potatoes are not bad, eating them every day is a bit too much.
"Pasta is delicious." Angelina agreed. "I've had it several times, and the taste is very memorable."
"British cuisine always disappoints, and there are too many varieties. The chefs here never take the time to study how to cook." Albert poured himself a cup of milk tea, took a sip, and complained, "I remember eating a whole fish baked in a sea salt and herb crust not long ago."
The two looked at each other and listened with interest as Albert complained about the various strange foods in Britain, such as his father's favourite chip sandwich and the only thing in the family that his grandmother liked, marmite...
Albert still remembers the first time he tasted marmite, which was... the taste of Hell. That taste is truly unforgettable.
If I had to describe it, it would be a strong soy sauce mixed with various bad smelling things.
Since then, Albert has stayed away from marmite.
"If any of you are interested, I'll ask her to send a bottle for Christmas."
"Cough cough." Alicia suddenly lost her appetite. "No, thank you. I'd rather eat something normal, so I don't get sick when I see jam in the future."
After finishing the milk tea, lunch was over.
Albert sat at the table and looked at the photos he had taken earlier. There were pictures of knightly armour, views of the castle, portraits of someone, or some exaggerated sculptures... These photos revealed a glimpse of Hogwarts.
However, seeing Albert selecting photos, Angelina really wanted to say something. You're not a student here, you're more like a tourist visiting Hogwarts.
