Just as he walked into Honeydukes Sweetshop, the scent of creamy sugar greeted him. Looking around, the candy shop was filled with many shelves, on which were placed all kinds of candy treats.
Albert instantly recognised a few, the front of the several large jars were filled with creamy peanut candy, toffee and nougat.
There were also some green lollipops hanging neatly next to the shelves, Albert picked one up and was about to check the description on the side when a familiar voice rang out behind him.
"I wouldn't touch this if I were you, it's sour popping candy, extremely sour." George put one hand on Albert's shoulder and pointed to the product description and explained, "Fred used to buy one for Ron's, our younger brother, and ended up burning a hole in his tongue, Mum beat Fred up with a Broomstick for it."
Fred glared indignantly at his twin brother and protested, "It was obviously you that bought Sour Pops.'
"I didn't tell you to give it to Ron." George responded innocent.
Looking at his unrepentant twin brother, Albert quietly put the sour pop candy back on the shelf.
I can't believe it can burn through a person's tongue, this stuff is actually made of sulphuric acid, isn't it?
"What are these?"
In the corner of the wall to the left of the entrance door, there were little mice of various colours hanging, and they were crawling around on the plastic panels on the wall, like little living mice.
"These are Ice Mice." Lee Jordan introduced to Albert, "If you eat it, you'll feel very cold, so cold that your teeth will chatter, and there's a cackling sound in your belly after the candy is finished, which, by the way, is kind of similar to Zonko's squeaky fudge."
"Interesting candy." Albert withdrew his gaze from the Ice Mice and walked over to the right shelf, which held a large bucket of Every Flavor Beans in a variety of colours, a plastic vat next to it with various flavours of fudge, and a shelf further past that with a variety of chocolates neatly arranged.
Albert took two boxes of chocolate frogs and eyed the large chunks of chocolate again, which he had bought once last time on the train and felt tastier than the chocolate frogs.
Hmmm, yes, and some chocolate beans.
Albert walked over to the counter with the various chocolate items.
Behind the counter, a smiling woman said, "That'll be 4 sickles and 10 knuts."
"Oh, madam, we meet again!" Albert was surprised to look at the train saleswoman, not realising that the other party was actually Honeydukes' boss?
"It's you! Do you need any other sweets, dear?" The woman also recognised Albert. After all, it wasn't many customers who would buy all the items on the trolley.
"Any recommendations?" Albert thought to himself, no wonder you can see a lot of sweets sold on trains here.
"Exploding bonbons, this candy is very popular with students, biting into it will in a slight explosion. Of course, it won't hurt anyone." The woman poured an exploding bonbons out of the jar and handed it to Albert.
"Try it?"
She was never shy about smiling and serving her potential clientele. Of course, it had to do with the galleons in the other person's pockets.
Albert took the exploding bonbons and put it in his mouth and bit into it, the strawberry-flavoured sandwich spilling out of the fudge. In the next moment, a slight explosion issued from the side of his mouth, and those who were unaware of it would probably be startled.
This would fall into the category of joke items, but the fudge tasted pretty good.
After Albert bought some exploding bonbons, the shop's proprietress became even more enthusiastic, she helped Albert put the exploding bonbons into a paper bag and packed it, and then began to introduce the various candy desserts in the shop.
"Jelly Slugs candy, you may have eaten it before, this belongs to one of the hot-selling products in our shop."
Albert looked at the long Slug shaped gummy candy and raised his eyebrows slightly, instead of jelly slug candy, it would be more appropriate to say jelly snakes. However, he didn't like gummy candies, so he wasn't going to buy this, Slugs and all that were kind of gross to think about.
The sweet shop also has a variety of sweets and desserts, the more famous cauldron cake, chocolate balls, fizzing whizzbees, Sugar Quills... the variety of sweets in the shop was dazzling.
"Is this... a cockroach?" Albert felt a little discomfort as he looked at the black bugs crawling in the glass jar.
"These are Cockroach Clusters." The woman introduced, "One of the sweets Headmaster Dumbledore's always buys from us. Of course, not everyone is comfortable with this shape of candy."
Presumably, only Dumbledore would like this!
"Have you guys ever eaten it?" Albert inquired with a sideways glance, and the three boys shook their heads simultaneously.
The woman winked at Albert and said, "There are Fudge Flies, which pop in your mouth when you eat them, and blood flavoured lollipops, which are very popular with most Vampires."
"For pranking others, I recommend the Pepper Patchouli, which are very spicy and make you spit fire..."
They stayed in the Honeydukes Sweetshop for at least half an hour, and before they left, the proprietress enthusiastically slipped Albert a copy of their shopping list, turning towards him with a winked and said, "If you want to buy candies, you can use an owl to send a letter, so it's best not to sneak out on your own."
As he left the sweet shop, Albert had another paper bag in his hand containing the pineapple preserves he had purchased from the sweet shop, for which he had paid ten sickles.
"This stuff isn't bad." Albert took a bite of the pineapple preserves.
"I thought that boss lady was especially warm to you." Lee Jordan said with a bit of jealousy. From start to finish, Honeydukes' proprietress had been very warm to Albert.
The twins also nodded their heads in agreement with Lee Jordan's words, and at the moment, their mouths were also stuffed with pineapple preserves.
"She's only warm to galleons, not me." Albert felt a little amused as he watched the expression on Lee Jordan's face.
Albert had bought a lot of things in the shop besides this bag of pineapple preserves, and that sweet proprietress said that she would help Albert mail the items to Hogwarts since he couldn't carry so many things.
It was two o'clock in the afternoon when the four returned to the castle, all four were tired from walking around Hogsmeade for a few hours, but all agreed that it had been an interesting trip to Hogsmeade.
"Where have you been?" Percy Weasley sat down next to the four and stared at the paper bag in front of them, frowning slightly.
"It's a secret!"
The twins looked at each other and smiled mysteriously, of course they wouldn't say they'd gone to Hogsmeade or Percy would write home.
The Honeydukes' proprietress was efficient, and it wasn't long after Albert returned to the Great Hall that the owls helped deliver the parcel.
"I think we'd better get back to the common room." Noting that the parcel had attracted the attention of the others, Albert addressed the trio and took the parcel back to Gryffindor common room.
Looking at the departing backs of the four, Percy's eyes twinkled and he was unclear what he was thinking.
