On the third of September, the first official day of school at Hogwarts, what had been a gloomy, rainy day cleared up all of a sudden.
Albert had just opened his eyes, awakening from a deep sleep. He slowly rose from his bed and walked barefoot to the window, pulling it open to let the cool morning breeze into the room.
All three of his housemates were still asleep; they had fallen asleep late yesterday after chatting about the Quidditch tournament in the Daily Prophet, so Albert hadn't planned on waking them up now.
After all, classes didn't start until nine o'clock, waking up now was just too cruel for the guys who stayed up all night.
After briefly washing up, Albert glanced at the class schedule and checked the books, quill, ink and parchment in his bag before picking up his bag and heading to the Gryffindor common room.
The common room was already occupied, by it's students.
"Good morning, Wilson." Albert greeted the girl in the same year, who was flicking through Miranda Gorshak's 'The Standard Book of Spells - Elementaries', presumably in preparation for the morning's charms lesson.
"Good morning..." Shanna Wilson said with a bit of embarrassment on her face as she didn't know the name of the boy in front of her who greeted her, even though she knew that he was a freshman in the same year as herself.
"Albert Anderson. You can call me Albert." Albert could see Shanna's Wilson's dilemma and casually introduced himself to the other as he added, "Join me in the Great Hall for breakfast?"
"Oh, yes... yes, Albert!" Shanna stammered a bit as she spoke, picking up her books and hurrying to follow Albert out of the common room.
Along the way, Shanna's didn't say a word, just followed closely behind Albert, still seeming to look around, trying to remember where she had walked.
Albert noticed these movements of Shanna's and couldn't help but mentally think: "It's not possible that she doesn't know the way, right?"
It actually was possible.
In the past, he had almost walked to the wrong place himself for his first class at university.
Hogwarts was undoubtedly more complicated, and it was normal for someone with little way finding skills to be unable to find the way.
As Albert expected, Shanna really didn't know how to get to the Great Hall, so she was in the common room, waiting for the others to go to the Great Hall with her.
Honestly, Gryffindor students weren't that keen on showing people the way, and a large portion of the senior students even enjoyed watching the new students run around in a hurry. This crappy habit came from the fact that they had had similar experiences initially, and over time it had left them with this nasty taste for watching other people's misfortune.
Yesterday, when Albert came back from the kitchen, he saw a few upper-classmen watching the freshmen fall into the staircase trap, and in the end, they walked away with a smile on their faces, with no intention of helping.
Of course, that could only be taken as exceptions!
The vast majority of students would have had the original intention of reaching out and pulling each other up, or at least the students of Hufflepuff would have.
Arriving at the Great Hall without incident, Shanna Wilson gave a huge sigh of relief.
Albert sat down at the Gryffindor table and poured himself a glass of milk, drinking it in one gulp and tilting his head back. He looked up to find Shanna staring at him, her mouth slightly open as if she wanted to say something?
He asked: "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, Albert you like milk?" Shanna was trying to talk with the boy in front of her.
After all, no one wanted to be left without a friend, and Albert seemed to be quite agreeable.
"Like it?" Albert shook his head, "I wouldn't say that, I'm just used to it, I've been drinking it since I was seven years old, one glass every morning, and I got used to it."
Shanna's mouth opened, suddenly she didn't know what to say, she actually admired Albert, she certainly couldn't have done it.
Albert spread jam all over the slice of bread and took a big bite, while across the table Shanna was eating an omelette, one of those English... omelettes that are deep fried in oil until golden brown on the outside.
Right! Albert thought it might be better called a golden fried egg. He himself was not at all interested in this unique omelette from Britain, a regular poached egg was better.1
After eliminating the slices of bread in his hand, Albert prepared two more slices of bread, with some vegetable salad, and put some bacon with sausage on top to make a sandwich out of them.
Of course, there was also a small bowl of polenta.
Compared to Daisy's polenta the one at school was only sloppy. In fact, it wasn't surprising; Daisy's polenta was one of the most impressive dishes she could cook.
After finishing breakfast, Shanna and Albert chatted about charms.
"I heard from Angelina that you have mastered many kinds of charms. How did you learn all that magic in such a short time?" Shanna's spoke slowly, as if she was carefully weighing her words.
"The main thing is that you need to be interested in it first, and then..." Albert said thoughtfully, '...it's all about taking the time to study and practice.'
He felt that interest was actually very important, and that it was only with interest that one would be willing to take the time and seriousness to learn a subject well.
"Interest?" Shanna pondered.
In fact, students like Shanna's who came from muggle families didn't even think that they would be Witches and Wizards and were still confused about a lot of things, after all, there were so many things that muggle wizards needed to learn.
There was no doubt that students from Wizarding families were ahead of them.
"Actually, you don't have to worry too much, everyone is just starting out, spend more time on your lessons and you'll be able to catch up with them soon enough." Albert suddenly felt that his words were a bit ridiculous.
Was he actually trying to make Gryffindor students love learning?
Not every student was Hermione Granger, and besides, that one had almost been sorted into Ravenclaw in the first place.
"You too?"
"Of course, what else could it be?" Albert answered rightfully.
However, when he said this, he somehow always felt a bit weak. After all, Albert was different from the others, he had a panel, and if he wanted to learn a type of knowledge, apart from mastering it through studying, he could also master it by upgrading his skills through the panel.
If the Wizard Bloodline was filled up, Alberts speed of learning magic would completely throw off other people by a country mile, but he didn't do so, and even the Wizard Path's Quest hadn't been claimed.
Albert was still considering whether to wait until later to level up his Wizard Bloodline before claiming the Quest rewards, which was undoubtedly one of the most cost-effective methods.
But the problem was that Albert was still struggling with the question of what he would do in the future, he didn't really want to stay in the magical world to develop.
If he decided to develop in the muggle world in the future, he would have to reserve a large amount of experience and skill points for himself to use in upgrading various skills in economics in the future.
Just forget it, it's better not to think about these issues.
Albert kind of shook off these distractions and took the 'Anthology of Nineteenth Century Charms' and slowly flipped through it, he was actually quite satisfied with the current situation, as for the experience and skill points that he had stored up, he could wait until he needed them in the future to use them.
