It was around eight thirty before Albert's three roommates sleepily walked into the Great Hall.
"Good morning!" Lee Jordan sat down next to Albert, stuffed a large bite of sausage into his mouth, and grunted, "I feel like my legs are broken."
"Don't be dramatic!" Albert closed the 'Anthology of Nineteenth Century Charms' in his hand and put it back into his backpack, reached out and patted Lee on the shoulder, "You're just over-exerted, why don't I take you to the school hospital and we ask them for some medicine?"
"Just forget it!" Hearing the school hospital mentioned, Lee Jordan instantly shrivelled up, fearing that the other party would really drag him over there.
The twin brothers sitting next to Lee Jordan couldn't help but laugh, and Fred, who was eating a golden omelette, suggested: "I'll tell you... a few vigorous slaps to the legs can greatly help with the soreness."
George continued, "I can help you, for free."
"You guys are not human!" Lee Jordan glared at the twins in displeasure and began to bury himself in his breakfast.
"Stop bickering and eat. First class is about to start and I don't want to be late on my first day of school." Albert reminded.
As they were eating, a red-haired, solid man approached them, he sat down next to the twins and asked with a smile, "Still getting used to school?"
"Charlie, the Quidditch team starts practice early in the morning?" George looked at the other man's outfit with disbelief.
"It's just a simple warm up, after all everyone hasn't touched a ball all summer." Charlie said to rightfully, "This year, make sure you win the Quidditch trophy."
Albert, who was next to him, smiled and couldn't help but shake his head, "Youngster, don't you realise raising flags like that will just end up jinxing you?"
"Right Charlie, is there still a shortage of people on the team, can we join the Quidditch team? George and I can be Beaters, you know how good we are."
"Don't even think about it, you've only just started school, you can't join Quidditch until Second Year." Charlie said with a serious look on his face, "I'll allow you to join the team if you can pass the test next term, but not this term."
"There are always exceptions, aren't there?" The twins winked towards their second brother and continued, "First Years are allowed to join as well, as long as they're good enough at Quidditch."
"Who said that?" Charlie Weasley asked back sharply. Even if he was the Quidditch captain, he couldn't be too reckless.
After all, the Quidditch captain had a responsibility to the entire Gryffindor student body, and losing the match was fine, losing too badly because of selfishness would definitely make it impossible to hold up one's head in the House.
The twins suddenly looked at Albert simultaneously.
"What are you guys looking at me for?" Albert asked in confusion.
Charlie's also followed the twins' gaze to Albert, and then he became even more confused, having no idea what these two quirky guys were up to.
"The selection of players ended yesterday, so you can wait until next year before trying to join the team. Well, this year you can fill in as Beaters, but don't expect to get up there and play." Charlie's Weasley coughed lightly, indicating that he wouldn't favour his siblings.
In fact, with the Beater on the team were graduating next year, it would be good to get ahead of the game. Charlie's also well aware of the calibre of George and Fred, at least compared to the others.
"So we get to practice too?" The twins' eyes were filled with an undisguised excitement.
"You guys should be free this... afternoon, right?" Charlie thought for a moment and said, "Afternoon, let's see... be at the Quidditch pitch at four p.m. I'll test you guys out first, no messing around."
"We understand." The twins nodded simultaneously.
Before the bell for class rang, several people hurried out of the hall and headed to the fourth floor charms classroom. Since they had already come here once in advance the day before, the four of them easily found the charms classroom this time.
Gryffindors charms class was held together with the Hufflepuff students, and when they walked into the classroom, quite a few students had already come inside.
Shanna had also come in early and Angelina was sitting at a table in the front row chatting with someone else.
All the good seats in the front row of the classroom were taken, so the four of them had to pick their seats at random in the back row, which didn't matter to Albert, who sat in a block with Lee Jordan, and the Weasley Twins sat next to them.
Professor Flitwick entered the classroom at the second bell, the charms professor did have a surprisingly small stature, and should have some goblin blood as rumoured.
Due to his lack of height, Flitwick had to stand on a stack of books to reach the lectern during class, but no one cared or laughed at his short height.
Of course, everyone was more or less curious about the professor's height.
Before starting the class, Professor Flitwick took out the roster and did a roll call, which reminded Albert of his college days.
In the first section of the charms class, the diminutive professor demonstrated the wonders of charms. He had several of the books on the table tap-dancing merrily, then jumping higher and higher to form a line in front of the crowd, dancing excitedly to some sort of unheard rhythm.
When everyone's attention was caught by the books dancing in mid-air, those books returned to their original shape and neatly landed back on the desk in front of Professor Flitwick.
Warm applause ensued as the students were each captivated by the magical scene and couldn't wait to start learning the charms.
"You guys still have a lot to learn if you want to achieve this level." Professor Flitwick said after the applause ended, "Now, open your textbooks and turn to the third page, you need to master some of the theories of charms first, which will help you to better grasp and use them in the future."
For most of the rest of the class passed with Professor Flitwick talking about the theory of charms, and after making the students note down a bunch of complicated and difficult theories, he also emphasised several times on the importance of the method of wand waving and the correct pronunciation of the incantation.
While Albert was concentrating on his notes, he felt Lee Jordan next to him touch him a few times with his elbow.
"What's wrong?" Albert turned his head helplessly and asked in a low voice.
Lee Jordan pointed to the twins at the next table, who were pointing at Albert's quill.
Albert immediately understood what they wanted.
Those two guys hadn't even brought their quill to class, so they were in trouble.
Albert placed his own quill on the table and softly recited the Doubling Charm.
"Give me one too, by the way." Lee Jordan said with tousled hair.
"You didn't bring one either, why didn't you say so?"
Lee Jordan laughed, "I didn't want to disturb your note taking, when you're done with your notes, just lend me a copy."
Not only was Albert's mouth twitching, but even Angelina and Alicia in front of them were sizing them up with strange gazes.
Of course, Professor Flitwick on the podium certainly noticed, however, he didn't say anything and still explained to them the part of the charms theory that wasn't in the book.
