Professor Flitwick's teaching experience was rich, and he also knew that most students had limited patience, after teaching the theory of magic charms for a while, he began to teach everyone how to use magic, and the first magic spell the freshmen learnt was the Illumination Charm.
The illumination charm was one of the greatest magics invented in the eighteenth century, and it was pretty much the simplest and most practical of charms.
"Here, repeat after me, Lumos!" Professor Flitwick was like teaching a kindergarten child to read.
"Lumos." Everyone recited.
"Very good, just lift your wand and flick it, then recite the incantation 'Lumos'." Professor Flitwick gave the class a practical demonstration as he repeated again, "It's important to remember how to wave your wand and the correct pronunciation of the spell."
"Well, why don't we try it now?"
The classroom immediately resounded with the sound of chanting incantations, and naturally Albert pretended to practice the illumination charm, even though he had already mastered the illumination charm, he couldn't just watch from the sidelines while everyone practised it, how out of place would he have to be!
"Look everyone, Mr. Anderson has managed to master the spell." Professor Flitwick shouted, "Very good, five points for Gryffindor."
Everyone looked over in unison, and it made Albert a little uncomfortable to be stared at by so many eyes, and he glared sideways at Lee Jordan, who was tapping him hard on the shoulder.
Actually, there weren't a lot of students who lit their wands right away; they just couldn't keep it up long enough before the bright light on their wands went out.
The twins and Lee Jordan still hadn't managed to completely master the spell before the end of class, and Diggory had managed to light his wand, but it went out shortly after.
Of course, the charms classroom still had a bit of a mishap when one of the Hufflepuff students flicked his wand so hard that flames came out of the front of it and set the unlucky fella in front of him on fire with his robes.
The guy was punished by Professor Flitwick by copying the sentence: I'm a Wizard, not a baboon waving a stick around.
Things weren't going well for Shanna, who had talked to Albert in the morning, and had tried more than a few times without success, only to have her wand actually emit choking black smoke, only for Professor Flitwick to use his magic to sweep the black smoke out of the classroom.
"I can't grasp it at all." Shanna looked desperate.
"Don't worry, there's still time for everyone to master this magic." Professor Flitwick reassured the students who hadn't managed to light their wands and continued, "You need to keep your minds focused."
Before class ended, Professor Flitwick left everyone with homework.
"For your homework, you will practice the illumination charm, and we will continue to learn this spell, and its counterspell, in the next class."
Of course, for Albert, his homework was already done.
After class, Albert purposely stayed at the end of the line, he planned to ask Professor Flitwick some questions.
Of course, about the magic of how to use a wand as an umbrella.
"Mr. Anderson, you did a good job with the Doubling Charm." Professor Flitwick smiled as he sized up the student in front of him, "You have a talent for charms."
"Thank you for the compliment, Professor Flitwick." Albert gladly accepted the other party's praise, "I would like to ask you to teach me a kind of magic."
"What kind of magic?"
"How can I make an umbrella with my wand?" Albert stated his question, he was going to take this opportunity to learn that magic.
"Make an umbrella?" Professor Flitwick was puzzled, "Why would you want to make an umbrella out of your wand?"
"Cough, wasn't it raining all the time for two days? I was thinking that if I could make an umbrella, I wouldn't have to worry about getting wet in the rain!" Albert said in a serious manner.
Professor Flitwick couldn't help but laugh, some people learn charms just to 'save time', the Mr. Anderson in front of him was undoubtedly such a person.
"Mr. Anderson, do you know what charms are?" Professor Flitwick inquired with a smile.
"Magic charms are charms that add specific attributes to an object or creature." Albert recited the theory of charms that he had just learnt in class, that is to say, making an umbrella from a wand was not part of charms science?
"It seems that you have understood." Professor Flitwick nodded and said, "What you said about making an umbrella from a wand actually belongs to a branch of Conjuration Spells in Transformation Studies."
"Conjuration spells?" Albert had only heard of the summoning charm.
Flitwick raised his wand and conjured a flower out of thin air.
"This is the Conjuration Spell, this spell does not summon things out of thin air, no one can summon things out of thin air." Flitwick handed Albert the unknown flower and continued, "I just summoned the flower from somewhere."
"Well, I probably understand, like the Scouring Charm, it just shifts things away? It doesn't really disappear, it just disappears from our presence."
"Right, looks like you've been reviewing the books." Flitwick was glad that Albert could understand, he added: "The summoning spell is O.W.L. knowledge, and its counterpart is the Vanishing Spell, the Vanishing Spell will be a bit simpler, if you want to know more about this, I suggest you ask Professor McGonagall about it, she will surely be happy if you to ask her about this knowledge."
"Of course, if you want to know anything about charms, you can come and ask me as well." Flitwick lifted his finger and pointed to the three waiting at the door, "You guys have class later, so don't be late."
"Professor, I still have a question."
Professor Flitwick didn't say anything and waited for Albert's next words.
"Can we store the light source of the illumination charm, I mean be able to take it out and use it without having to adapt it?" Albert threw out his own question again, thinking that it might have something to do with the principle of Dumbledore's Deluminator.
"Very interesting idea, and from what I understand it should be possible, but it's still a bit hard for you to do because there's a lot of stuff involved in this." Professor Flitwick was amazed that Albert would ask such a question, "I'm curious, what makes you think that way?"
"In the muggle world, there is something called a torch, which is like an Illumination Charm that can be turned on, or off, at one's will."
Here, Albert's tone faltered as he realised that the panel had a new Quest.

After Albert walks out of the classroom, George rushes up and curiously inquired: "What question are you asking Flitwick?"
"What question? How to use a wand to conjure up an umbrella, of course."
"And what was the result?"
"Professor Flitwick said that was O.W.L. Transformation knowledge' Albert was a bit depressed, he felt like he should think of some way to learn the Conjuration Spell.
"Looks like you won't be able to make an umbrella anytime soon." Fred couldn't help but laugh.
The four of them walked together towards the History of Magic classroom on the second floor.
