'Thought'
Dante was driving a car with the Team DRW(B)Y logo on it. Meanwhile, in the backseat, Ruby and Patty were sitting together, chatting away.
"I hope this doesn't come out rude, but why did you take on this type of profession? With someone as young as you, shouldn't you do something more with your life?"
Patty couldn't help but ask in curiosity, finding it odd to see this Red Devil Hoodie Girl become some type of fighter. In her mind, a lady should only care about shopping, looking pretty, and finding love with a prince in shiny armor. It made her female protector giggle.
"Well, I always liked the thought of becoming a hero, saving the innocent, stopping evil, and looking cool doing it."
Ruby smiles softly, as she gently grasps the red gem that holds her scale hoodie together and opens it
"It's what my sister did, my father did, and my mother did… And I wanted to become just like them."
Ruby then showed the small child a very detailed drawing of herself, her sister, her father, and her mother, the young blonde looked and admired the drawing
"Wow… If that's the case, your parents must be very proud of you then."
Patty couldn't help but praise, although what she said made the Legendary Devil Huntress tense up slightly and caught the attention of Red Coat Devil
"Yes, they would be proud of me."
Ruby wore a calm expression, no doubt already moved on at the thought of going back home, even if it still stings her heart a little, the Human Kid gets a little confused at the sudden change of tone, but doesn't dwell on it too much as the two Ladies just continue to talk, and while they have their little chat, the Son Of Sparda continues to drive, and as he does so, he notices that up ahead in the road, a few demons stand firm and are getting ready to jump/attack the car, this makes him hum as he glances up at the rearview mirror, and sees that his 2nd In Command realizes what's happening and nods in understanding, which makes him smirk
"The sun is sure hot, let me turn on the shade."
Dante reached out his hand to a small switch under the radio and flipped it, which activated a sunroof and raised the tinted windows, which caught the orphan's attention and made her look around in wonder and confusion.
"Hey Patty, wanna listen to my favorite songs?~"
Before the young blonde could reply, Ruby had already taken out some headphones and put them on her head, while also turning on the music.
"Oh, this sounds so pretty!"
With Patty now distracted, the Corrupted Silver Eye's leader gave a thumbs up to his leader, who nodded, putting on some shades, which gave him a 360-degree view of the outside of his car, and continued driving forward into a group of demons, who let out a loud roar and charged towards the car. The Devil Hybrid wore an arrogant smile as he pressed on the triggers of his steering wheel, which revealed two gun barrels in the front of the vehicle, which quickly began gunning down all of the enemies that stood before him, making them fall on the road and get run over by the car.
'Heh, what was I thinking on letting Ruby and Yang work on the car~'
Dante chuckles to himself, and then sees a few Demons getting past the guns and getting ready to attack from above. The Demonic Human presses a button on his wheel, which lets pop out four long blades on the four corners of the car roof and they start spinning like helicopter blades, chopping the demons into pieces.
'Not that I'm complaining~...'
Dante continues having fun, purposely driving wildly and running over all the demons he sees, while letting the guns and spinning blades take care of any stragglers; he is thoroughly enjoying himself, though while driving like a madman, a single demon manages to avoid the chaos and climbs on the side of the car, being careful not to get hit by the guns or blades.
"Hey Dante! Can you keep it down, I'm listening to Ruby's music!"
Patty yells at Son of Sparda for making too much noise, which makes the Demon Hoodie Girl giggle
"Sorry little lady, I'll be sure to be quieter nexts time."
Dante closed his window, put away his pistol, and made sure every demon was dead. He then turned off all the car's weapons and continued driving like normal.
"By the way Ruby, maybe add something for the windows? I don't need them reaching in and grabbing my head."
Dante quickly gave his opinion on the car's defense, which made the Corrupted Silver Eyes pull out a notebook and start writing in it.
"Yeah, some electric shields should be added, or maybe some lasers? Hmm..."
Soon after a long car ride, the day became night, and once that happened, the three decided to find a hotel to spend the night at. After a few more moments of driving, they parked the car and went inside a suspicious and creepy building where an even creepier man stood behind the check-in counter.
"Give me the cheapest room you got for me and my niece's."
Dante pulled out a few $20 bills and placed them on the counter, to which the strange man took and accepted the payment
"Two adults and one child, here's your key sir, enjoy your stay~..."
The Weirdo let's out a freaky smile as he gives a key to the Legendary Devil Hunter, who takes it and walks up to his partner and the Orphan Kid he's protecting
"Did we have to rent this place? It's so icky and gross here."
Ruby let out a childish "grossed out" face, the Team Leader just shrugged and pocketed the key, before walking off, which made her pout and puff her cheeks.
"We'll survive, now come on, let's get some sleep and prepare for tomorrow."
The two Pro Demon Hunters were about to leave, but stopped when they heard the young blonde say something that caught their attention
"That's my mother…"
What Patty said made the two adults look at her. And when they looked, they saw that she was looking at a poster with a blonde lady on it. Surprised, they watched as the young blonde rushed up to the creepy guy behind the counter.
"Mister! Where Can I Go To Meet This Woman!"
Patty eagerly asked the man if he wanted to meet the woman in the poster with the unusual grin and the child about to answer.
"What are you talking about? I thought your mother died?"
Dante quickly interrupts their conversation, and his partner walks up to the one they're supposed to protect.
"Patty, um, let's not jump into any conclusions, it might be just someone that looks like your mom."
Ruby, even though she felt terrible saying that, didn't want to give the Small Blonde any false hope. She knew how dangerous that could be and the many troubles it could lead to.
"B-But-"
Patty wanted to protest, but the Red Coat Devil just placed a hand on her shoulder and shook his head no, which made her sigh in defeat. Then after that was cleared up, the three walked off and headed towards their room. All the while, the Creepy Man looked at them with his creepy smile. He reached for the phone and started to make a call.
"The girl is here~..."
Meanwhile, back at the apartment, the three were in the middle of settling into their one-bedroom apartment. Patty was sitting on the bed, looking a little bummed out. Dante was lying on the couch, ready to take a nap. And Ruby was sitting by the window, watching for any suspicious activity. There was a moment of silence between the three.
"... I don't really care about my family's fortunes…"
This made both of the Protectors turn their heads and look at Patty, who was hugging her knees close to her chest
"And even if I do get it, I would just use it to buy all the sweets, clothes and toys for all the kids back at the orphanage…"
Patty clenched her legs tighter and tighter, all while the Two Pro Devil Hunters continued to listen and watch what she had to say.
"But, even if they get those things, that's not what they really want, just like me, all they want is to see their mother's and father's, that's all they want… That's all I want…"
Patty began to tear up, closed her eyes, and refused to cry. However, before she could, she felt a gentle hug, which made her look up and see the Devilish Rose holding her close and comforting her.
"Tomorrow, we can visit that show if you like, even if she's not your mother, it should make you feel better, if only a little… Would you like that?"
Ruby looks at the small blonde, using her red cape to wipe away the tears of the little kid, who nods softly and hugs back.
"Thank you Ruby…"
Patty smiled lightly, the ache and sadness momentarily left her heart as she felt nothing but comfort and reassurance, which was enough to make her relax and fall asleep in the arms of the Corrupted Silver Eyes, who just pets her head lightly
"... Sometimes, no matter how badass we are, we forget that we're still human."
Was all that Dante had to say about this, laying his back down and trying to fall back to sleep, what he said made the Devilish Rose rub her demonic silver eye
"Yeah, we are…"
Ruby couldn't help but smile to herself, very glad that she still had her humanity… An hour or two later, both Patty and Dante seemed to be in a deep sleep in the small bedroom, while the Legendary Devil Huntress just sat by the window, looking outside and up at the sky, seeing only stars and the entire full moon above, she couldn't help but sigh softly in satisfaction
'Seeing a Moon that isn't shattered, is always going to be breathtaking for me.'
Ruby very much enjoyed the sight, though before she could continue watching, her Corrupted Silver Eyes glowed slightly, which made her look down and see a few shadows in the dark alleyway below. She hummed and glanced at her leader and the small child.
'Hm~ A little night fun before bed~'
Ruby lets out a careless shrug before opening the window and simply jumped off and down, leaving the two in the room to continue their rest, and no doubt to fight some demons, though once she left, a small moth flew from under the bedroom door and went towards to the sleeping kid, landing on top of her head and spoke in a very familiar creepy voice
"Do you still wanna see your mama?~..."
Once the disturbing voice said this, Patty gasped and widened her eyes… A few moments later, the Demonic Hoodie Girl jumped through the window and reappeared in the room, stretching a little and letting out small grunts
"Can't even call these stray demons a warm-up anymore, that's just sad~"
Once Ruby felt more relief in her joints and muscles, she relaxed a bit and sighed.
"Hopefully the shower works in this gross hotel, bleh…"
Before Ruby can even think about showering in this disgusting hotel, she took a moment to look at her side and noticed an extremely empty bed, which made her widen her eyes in extreme shock
"Oh no…"
Ruby, after processing on what just happened, started to panic greatly and used her speed to rush to the sleeping Demonic Human and start shaking him rapidly
"WE MESSED UUUUUUP!"
Ruby's shaking woke up the Legendary Devil Hunter, to which he sat up and looked around in extreme confusion
"Whoa! Ruby! Calm Down! What's Wrong?!"
Dante had no idea what was going on and why the Devilish Rose was acting this way, but then she grabbed his head and turned it to the direction of the empty bed
"... Oh."
Was all Dante could say once he understood the situation. Meanwhile, downstairs in the checkout area, we see the Creepy Guy just sitting there behind his counter, wearing his unsettling smile and seeming to write something down. Before he could continue his work, two hunters in red rushed downstairs and ran up to the weirdo.
"Hey! Have Seen The Girl That Was With Us?!"
Dante wore a very serious expression, clearly not taking this situation lightly
"Yeah, I Think She Ran Away Or Something!"
Ruby wore a very panicked expression, clearly not happy about this entire situation
"Girl? Whatever do you mean?~.."
The Stranger wore a smug smile, acting as if he had all the cards. However, the Legendary Devil Huntress pulled out her Crescent Devil: Sniper Mode and shot it into the air. Once the bullet left the barrel, it began bouncing around the room, killing all the demons who had been hiding and were about to sneak attack. Finally, the bullet went past the Weirdo's cheek, cutting him slightly. This removed his arrogant expression.
"... She is at the Theater, not too long a drive from here…"
The Creepy Guy quickly replies without hesitation, satisfying the two Hunters in Red, before quickly running off to save the Child they were supposed to protect, speaking of which, at some huge theater room with many rows of seats placed in front of the stage, where an adult blonde stood in the middle, having a spotlight and seeming ready to perform something.
"Mom!"
Patty shouts happily and runs forward, shouting out to her mother. Overjoyed at seeing her single parent, she continues to shout.
"Mom! I Wanted To See You So Bad!"
Patty ran up and hugged the lady before her, refusing to let go, crying tears of joy at meeting her mother
"I'm sorry, Patty, I won't do anything to make you feel lonely again."
The mother comforted her child, who looked up and wore a happy smile when she heard those words, which quickly disappeared.
"Because You're About To Die Right Now!~"
Instead of seeing a beautiful face like that of the 'Mother', we instead see a disgusting demonic face, which wore an eager expression and looked eager to kill.
"And You're Mom's Going To Kill You!~"
The "Mother" lets out a loud devilish laugh, as she swings her disgusting claws at the Young Lady, who yells and cowers in fear. But before Demonic Mom can get hurt, a certain someone with a Demonic Hoodie comes in and drop kicks the Demon away.
"You will not touch her…"
Ruby stood in front of Small Blonde, protecting her. She glared at the "Mother" with her glowing eyes.
"R-Ruby?..."
Patty couldn't help but be surprised to see her Guardian come to her rescue, which definitely made her beyond thankful and happy to see her, though before she could say anything, the 'Mother' let out a very loud and mighty roar, summoning a huge horde of Demons to come and aid her, this making the Corrupted Silver Eyes huff
"Sorry Patty, but this show isn't meant for kids."
In one quick motion, Ruby quickly used her foot to push the Small Child away from the stage, which was caught by Dante, much to Kid's surprise, before blocking the Devil's attack with her Demon Skin Hoodie.
"You Will Both Die A Painful Death!"
The Mother yells loudly as she and the other Demons try to push the Devilish Rose into submission, with little success.
"Nope~"
Was all that Ruby said before pushing the Demonic Group back and quickly pulled out Crescent Devil: Scythe Mode, spinning it around before getting into a fighting stance with the weapon
"「Lock And Loaded Lady Rose!~」"
Crescent Devil was very eager to be used in battle again, which made Scythe Wielder giggle, the horde of Demons let out another monstrous roar and charged at the Legendary Devil Huntress all at once, who just smirked and twirled her big devilish weapons around, before slamming down the blade onto the first Demon that was close, piercing its skull and sticking it into the ground. After doing that, she pulled the trigger and head-shot the second one, using the recoil of that powerful shot to let herself spin around and hit all the ones that tried to jump her with the back end of the weapon. She continued to spin and jump around all over the place, cutting up all the other Demonic Creatures that unfortunately got in her way. Finally, she ended it by having the blade part of the Crescent Devil behind the "Mother" who was now petrified with fear.
"P-Please have mercy…"
The Mother tries to beg for forgiveness and has her life spared. The Legendary Devil-Huntress hums and rubs her chin.
"Hmmm… Ok~"
Ruby then grabbed the "Mother" terrified head and brought it close to her face. She looked into its eyes and in an instant, a flash of light turned the demon into stone, forever frozen in a pose of horror and fear.
"Whoa…"
Patty couldn't help but watch the whole thing in amazement, never having seen someone do such an impressive feat.
"I'll give you a S.S Rank, Ruby, only because you made a child watch something rated R."
Dante gave his quick judgment and rank of the fight he just witnessed, which made the Devilish Rose puff her cheeks as she walked back up to her leader.
"B-But I Was So Totally Stylish Just Now Fighting Those Baddies Demons!"
Ruby whines and protests, clearly disapproving of this rank she was just given, to which the Son Of Sparda just shrugs and begins to walk off with the small blonde next to him.
"Sorry, hopefully you'll do better next time."
Dante didn't change his mind, which made the Legendary Devil Huntress get all pouty and grumpy as she began walking with him and the kid
"... T-Thank you Ruby, for saving my life…"
Patty shyly thanked her savior for rescuing her, which made the Demon-Skin Hoodie Girl smile softly and held out her hand to the blonde child.
"Just doing my job, now come on, let us take you home and hopefully you'll find your real family there~"
Ruby gave her a happy expression, with a reassuring smile, which made the Little Kid smile back
'I think I already found it.'
Patty couldn't help but think to herself as she reached over and grabbed her Guardian's hand, holding it tightly as she and her Partner began to leave the area, with the Young Lady happily tagging along... Meanwhile, in the upper seats of the theater, we see a familiar Creepy Dude who just watched the entire 'show' from below, and he was not happy about the ending.
"Sorry master… I've failed to kill the girl and collect the fortune…"
The weirdo was in the middle of talking to someone on the phone, and spoke to the "Master" in a very upset and disappointed tone
"That's quite alright, my Minion Sid."
We then heard the voice of the supposed "Master" start to talk to "Gross Guy", who was now named "Sid", through the phone
"This is no problem, for the 'Future Ruler Of The Underworld', now come back to base, I have a new assignment for you."
The Master sounded very sure of himself, and even after he hung up the phone, there was still a sense of "Power Terror" in the air, something that made Sid regain his confidence and begin to creepily smirk again, as he then looked at the stage with the bloody dead demons and the stone "Mother", he chuckled evilly and slowly stepped back into the shadows.
'Hmph, we'll meet again, you Devil Hunter's, and when we do, it'll be your last~...'
Forgive me if I skipped/changed anything, but some scenes in the anime, at leasts to me, are either not useful or could be done better, sorry
(BTW, while I won't do the DMC2, I will add character's that are important, maybe)
