This is Part II of the My Gift To You Birthday Special. Last time, things did not end well for our terrific trio of heroes in the slightest. While they did stop Mister Negative's APC, he still managed to escape with the Devil's Breath. Silver Sable then showed up and berated the group, particularly Spider-Man, for this happening. Needless to say, this is putting a serious dent in Cynder and Sable's professional relationship. Now the team is acting on Crisis mode. How is this going to go? Read on to discover...

(Our scene picks up on one of NYC's many rooftops, where Spyro, Cynder, and Spider-Man are preparing the next phase of their plan, now that Mister Negative has the Devil's Breath. And as always it seems, it starts with a call from Yuri.)

Spider-Man: Yuri, please tell me you've got a lead on Li's location.

Yuri: Somebody sent over footage from a coffee shop that appears to show Li getting into a black sedan after the APC crash.

Spyro: It's not much, but we've worked with less.

Yuri: There's more. The video got a partial plate, and there's a match.

Cynder: Send us the location, we're on our way!

Yuri: Its in a parking lot on Canal and Hudson.

(Wasting no time, the team sets out and manages to arrive at the specified parking lot swiftly, only to find bad news, the car has been abandoned. No sign of Mister Negative or the Devil's Breath)

Spider-Man: Damn.

Spyro: Not a trace of them.

Cynder: We'd better call the others and warn them.

Spider-Man: Good idea. (Tries to dial MJ, only to not get through) Went straight to voicemail.

Spyro: Same with Ember and Flame.

Cynder: Leave a message.

Spider-Man: MJ, Li's got the Devil's Breath

Spyro: We have no idea where he is, but it's possible you're all on his target list. Stay alert!

(As the two hang up, Cynder looks out onto the horizon, and asks two simple questions)

Cynder: Where did you three get off to? And what are you getting in the middle of...?

(With that, the scene transitions to Grand Central Terminal, and actually answers Cynder's first question, because that's where MJ, Ember, and Flame are, in the middle of what appears to be an Oscorp Tech Show)

Flame: Are you two sure we should be doing this without alerting the others?

MJ: If we're going to be partners, Pete and the others need to be able to trust us.

Flame: And going behind their backs is the way to do that?

Ember: Flame, we'll talk about this later. Right now, we need to get a move on.

MJ: Right. Standish said Li was after something at GCT.

Flame: We still should probably tell the others...

Ember: And what? Have them order us to go back to MJ's apartment and barricade the doors?

MJ: Look, Flame, if this helps, we'll just have a look around, and then tell the others what we found. That way nobody's left out of the loop.

Flame: I can only hope this plan of yours works.

(Without wasting time, the trio starts to work examining the Oscorp technology displays, where eventually MJ stumbles upon one device in particular that should be interesting)

MJ: Ember, Flame, check this out! (Starts reading the description of the device) The Gaia Microbe Dispersal Device.

Flame: (Reads the description) Disperses specially formulated microbes into the atmosphere... (Stops) This could be it!

Ember: My thoughts exactly. If Li wants to use the Devil's Breath, he'll need a way to disperse it. This might be the thing.

(No sooner have the trio figured this out, then a familiar former friend appears behind them, Mister Negative, now acting as Martin Li again, startling the trio as they examine the device further)

MJ: (Trying to suppress panic) Mr. Li...

Mister Negative: This will be easier for everyone if you three remain calm, and do as I say.

Flame: You're one to talk...

(Not responding to Flame's comment, Mister Negative channels his powers without assuming his full negative state, but Ember is having none of this)

Ember: (To a nearby security guard) POLICE!

(The security guard gets the memo, but it's too late, the Demons have already arrived and knock the guard unconscious before grabbing the microbe dispersal device.)

Mister Negative: (In Chinese) Demons!

(At the given order, more Demons emerge from within the crowd and barricade the exits, trapping everyone inside Grand Central Terminal. This is clearly Mister Negative's big plan alright. And as the Demons take over GCT, our tale ends for today)

This concludes Part II of the My Gift To You Birthday Special. For Part III, head on over to The Injustice Wars. A nice little cliffhanger for the special update. And the situation is already looking grim. Now we know what Standish meant about Grand Central. And now Mister Negative has both the Devil's Breath, and the means to use it. Can this turn out any way but badly? Tune in next time to find out! Same time... same channel!
