Following takes place near the end of May and beginning of summertime, Norfolk, Virgina

CHAPTER 2

DOWN AND THINKING TIME

Darrien who has a black veil on to cover his face, along with black T-Shirt and jeans on. He takes out one of the other black bags and opens it. There is one drone disc that's placed on the floor and then it starts to hover and shoots down a chemical while its bristles underneath slides on it and makes a trail making the dirty floor clean. Darrien then takes a breath and then he leaves the bridge. Darren then puts another drone and has it magnetically connected to the bristled drone. This drone shoots out hot warm air to dry up the chemical and water on the floor quickly.

Darrien then leaves the bridge of the ship, opens the door and is outside where it is the afternoon, and the sun is still up and slightly hot. He then goes to the stairway outside the ship that leads down and to a miniature dock. As he does, he gets on the small boat docked, goes back and starts the motor and then steers the miniature boat to what is a medium sized Yacht that is anchored across from the forward deck of the Eldridge 50 yards away. He docks with this Yacht and once he climbs on board, he then just goes straight to the bridge of it that leads to the kitchen area. In his hands he has a fanciful silver summer serving tray which has a pitcher of raspberry iced tea and a couple of glasses. Another plate with small cut triangle ham and Swiss sandwiches.

Darrien comes near and he sets the tray down on the table, he looks across and see's Candy who is sitting and laying down on a summer foldable chair. Candy is wearing a summer long skirt black colored, along with a black swimsuit top. She has sunglasses on and a black summer hat on. Darrien has his eyes on her and can't help but have his eyes observer her figure left and right slowly to get all the features, from her exposed calves, feet and everything else.

Darrien, he blushes red, and he looks away quickly away he's looking a little too long. But then he turns his head back and says, "Well, the last easy part to do is to clean up the floor and any other germ-infested area, the drone will have that done in about half an hour."

He then takes a small breath and continues, "But of course that leaves the hard part which is we'll have to test, take apart, and even do a few updates and upgrades."

Candy says, "You mean the fun part, reverse engineering is one of my favorite specialties.

Darrien says, "Mine too."

Candy then turns his direction and says, "Come and join me."

Darrien looks in her direction and says, 'What?"

Candy says, "Cmon."

Darrien then slowly comes to the summer chair near Candy. Darrein then relaxes but is just a little uncomfortable.

Candy says, "Wow, you're a real workaholic, I can see that in your body language."

Darrien says, 'It's not that, I'm just too use to being busy."

"Yeah, but an overly stressed and fatigued mind produces less favorable results."

Darrien then lays back; he then takes a breath blowing the veil forward a little. Both then take up the sight of the Atlantic Ocean.

Candy says, "I love the sight of the ocean."

Darren says, 'Yeah, me to, I love the sound it makes hearing those waves build up and sometimes crash into each other, helps in my sleep."

Darrien then looks at Candy and says, "What about you?"

Candy says, "If you want a reason, I'd say it's how the sun touches on the water making it bright and sparkling, seeing that sight makes me believe life can be beautiful."

Candy she then takes her glass of raspberry iced tea and takes a sip.

Candy then says, 'It's still hard to believe that we actually did this, personally I always thought the U.S.S. Eldredge was gone forever, like so many old naval ships past their time."

Candy takes another sip and then looks at Darrien and says, "And yet you hung on to the belief that it was still around."

Darrien looks at her with the veiled head and says, "Well I wouldn't say it was a belief, but it was just a feeling, instinct, due to what it is capable of, why would they would want to sink it."

"Though I want to know, how did you know it would be in Norfolk, Virgina?"

Darrien takes a sip of his tea and then says, "It was an educated guess, figured if you were going to hide this ship, why not in the last place it teleported, the place they never knew at the time and was just mere sighting reports."

Candy says, "Good guess."

Candy then sips her tea and says, "You never fully explained what you wanted to do with this ship.

Darrien, he looks at her and says, "I'll give you one real reason after this ship is fixed up, safe and sound in another location."

Candy makes a sour face and says, "Oh, why do you always have to create enigmas with me?"

"Though you're a person that loved solving enigmas, beside where the fun in knowing the answers too soon."

Candy takes a breath and says, "Yeah, your correct, but don't press your luck."

There is a little flutter in the veil, and it is a small smile. Darrien takes up his plate and chomps down on a few triangles ham and Swiss sandwiches. His veil is opened to two sides and Candy looks always trying to catch a glimpse of his face even though she already knows it's still something to fer to behold. Darrien finishes his plate, takes a sip, puts the glass asides, he then closes his veil and then he looks at her and says, "You already knowing one of the reasons."

Candy says, 'I know it's to retrieve this ship before V.E.N.O.M. does; but if we found it now wouldn't that mean we have to work fast."

"But Matt, Gloria, and the rest aren't here yet, without the sphere the ship won't fully operate."

Darrien sits back and says, "Don't worry I know Matt, and one thing to him is that he's always early."

Location: Edmonton, Canada Place: Bolder Hill: Home Base of M.A.S.K.

Meanwhile, in a science lab Matt is pacing as both Alexander and Bruce were sitting down on across from a table, studying the sphere that was right at the center of it.

Gloria quickly comes in and says, "We should be looking for Darrien, but instead were doing science experiments?

Matt says, "Gloria I understand how you feel, but in order to do that we've got to figure out a little more what this sphere is."

"How will all that help Matt?"

"By doing this, it may give us some vital clue to Darrien's movements, how this is the key to whatever he seeks."

Gloria, she looks at the sphere and shakes her head. "I'll say this about Darrien, he was always a strange one and also very mysterious."

Matt, he has a small smile and looks at Gloria and says, "Was I really any different when you first met me?"

Gloria is a little taken aback by the comment and says, "That's kind of true however unlike him you're a little more normal, but him he's just weird."

"But in a good way."

"May 'be but….I don't know I always sensed there was something dark in him, that he's deeply sad somehow."

Matt takes a breath and says, "I never doubt you intuition Gloria; there are days even I question if we're any different from him, if the things he seeks are the same as ours."

Matt looks at the Sphere again and then looks at Gloria and comes to her.

Matt says, "This Sphere I'll admit is most unusual indeed, unusual isn't really our business nor my normal expertise."

Gloria says, "No but I know tech and new tech is yours."

"True, the unusual is Darrien's expertise, when I think about it a lot of unusual things have happened ever since Tokyo, Japan. Vancouver, Canada and also Gravity Falls, Oregon; I honestly don't know what we would've done without him especially what happened a month ago here."

Flashback: April 1 Location: Edmonton, Canada

There is some giant figure that comes out from the dark forest area, this figure as it is walking from the moonlight it's shown it has several layers of what looks like metallic wrapping. The figure is supposed to be humanoid shaped, but the metallic wrapping makes it look bigger and featureless as it consists of nothing but steel colored metallic wrapping. The figure doesn't have much of a head except for a circular shaped head, the wrapping shapes and a black space where the eyes of the head are supposed to be located.

In that black space there are two glowing red eyes, and its eyes are scanning up and down a cell phone tower structure. The metallic creature then extends its arms and suddenly from its finger's long strands, and steel wire shoot out and then the strands and steel wire shoot itself out and wraps around the tower till it covers it completely. The creature then makes a big humming noise and suddenly the steel wires and strands start to glow light blue and suddenly they glow brighter. And as they do the cell phone tower it starts to glow light blue and as it glows brighter suddenly there are several sparks and even plenty of bolts of electricity that violently shoot out everywhere. The sparks and shots continuously fly and even hit one of the grasslands in the area, as the tower suddenly emits an extremely bright light blue glow it then stops and then the tower just explodes instantaneously.

The metal creature remains unmoving unaffected by the explosion, it reels back its steel wire and strands back to its body, and it just starts to simply walk and go wherever it needs to go as it is glowing a light blue. As it's on its journey the sparks that hit the grassland start to come on fire.
