Coming Together on the First Date
Hayato, the elder and powerful martial artist master of the Ryōzanpaku Dojo, is in the middle of mediation in his room while pouring water on his little bonsai tree on his pinky finger.
From within the shadows, a figure lurks around and jumps out revealing himself to be Inuyasha to attack the old man from behind at his top speed hoping to catch him off guard while he's busy watering his little houseplant.
"Ah, the exciting energy of youth these days." Hayato sighed with a smile.
With a single slight movement of his pinky throw the water pourer into the air and use that very pinky to touch the palm of Inuyasha's hand that he was about to attack him, this shock the half-demon boy before he was suddenly flip over and slam down on the floor.
"The fuck…?!" Inuyasha was shocked.
"Hey now, don't go say any of those curse words in front of my bonsai. She's sensitive." Hayato said as he gently pets his bonsai.
"Oh great, the old man has gone senile." Inuyasha deadpanned.
"Hahaha! I see you have the same fire that burns from your soul, just like Toga back in the days." Hayato mentioned with a little laugh.
"So, my dad fought against you too?" Inuyasha asked as he sat up.
"Oh yes, he was my most proud student who I gladly took under my wing. We even fought each other a few times as a test to see how far he has come. Quite the remarkable boy." Hayato complimented as he recalls those days from when Toga was still alive.
"Did he ever win?" Inuyasha asked.
"I could tell you now, but… I think you're gonna have to earn that knowledge for when you become strong enough to know more about your father's past." Hayato smirked.
Inuyasha growls a bit, should've known it wasn't going to be that easy to get something out of this old man.
"Now, I believe you have to be somewhere right now. Say being with a certain lady of yours." Hayato hinted.
Inuyasha was a little confused at first until he quickly realized what the old man was saying and quickly leaves the room to meet up with Renka outside, Hayato senses that he is gone and caught the water pourer with his pinky finger.
"It looks like things are coming toward a certain path you set your sons on, huh, Toga?" Hayato chuckled, sounding like he knows something more than he's letting on.
(With Renka)
Renka is seen standing on her hands being upside-down for a little endurance training while looking over the horizon in a different view, but it's just a little thing to keep herself distracted until Inuyasha comes to spend the moment with her.
"Hey, did I keep you waiting long?" Inuyasha asked, showing up in front of her face.
"No, you actually came quicker than expected." Renka smiled as she flips herself on her feet.
"So, how did your failure attempt to attack Master Hayato go?" Renka asked.
"How did you know I went to the old man first?" Inuyasha asked in surprise.
"Come on, even before we became a couple, I know you would go fight a new strong warrior the moment you hear about him. That's just how you roll." Renka pointed out.
"Yeah, well, he stopped me before I could even start." Inuyasha pouted with his arms crossing.
"That's expected of Miu's grandfather." Renka chuckled.
Inuyasha felt a little hurt from how his girlfriend who is supposed to be supportive for him is pointing out some painful facts that he may not be able to beat him as he is now, but he couldn't exactly be mad at her.
Inuyasha moves his hands taking hers in causing the Chinese martial artist to jump a bit from the contact but hold his hand in return.
"What?" Renka asked.
"Nothing, it just… This feels so real even though I keep thinking that it's a dream. Me, having a girlfriend. Never thought that would happen." Inuyasha explained, blushing a bit.
"To be honest, I'm feeling a little nervous about being in a relationship that I haven't thought of doing yet." Renka scratched her cheek gently.
"I mean, it's only been yesterday since the exam that we officially became a couple, and it still feels weird to me." Renka admitted.
It's true that she never thought about getting herself a boyfriend even though there have been a few times on some other boys before Inuyasha, there is even this popstar boy she likes but not in the romantic way, just like a fangirl.
She thought about finding herself a man maybe at least the final year or after high school, but that plan changed when she first met Inuyasha who made quite an impact on her life.
"(Life is just full of surprises, is it?)" Renka thought smiled as she leans her head on Inuyasha's shoulder.
"R-Renka?" Inuyasha blushed gasping softly.
"Just enjoy the moment." Renka smiled.
Inuyasha went quiet for a while though his mind is running a little fast on how to be a good boyfriend for Renka, his first ever girlfriend except he has no idea on how couples do together since he and Renka just started going out together.
And then it hit him, they haven't gone out on a date yet, like going to someplace where they can hang out together and enjoy some moments together.
He's not really sure if they are ready to go on a date right now since they're still new to dating and it does scare him a bit, but he's not gonna be a coward to now ask out his own girlfriend.
"Hey, Renka." Inuyasha said, getting her attention.
"Do you wanna go on a date?" Inuyasha asked.
"Sure." Renka nodded.
And five seconds later, Renka realizes what Inuyasha just ask her.
"Whoa, you're already asking me out on a date?!" Renka gasped.
"Wha… But isn't that what couples do, to ask each other out on dates?" Inuyasha asked in shock.
"Well, yes, but we just started out being a couple and I haven't taken in the moment just yet. I'm still processing." Renka said, sounding a little worried.
"Well, you already said yes." Inuyasha pointed out.
"Shoot!" Renka snapped her fingers knowing that he's right.
"But to be honest, I haven't thought about what to do like where to go from here." Inuyasha rubbed the back of his head.
"Well, we can't go out right now since we still have training and it's a school night. So, we can go out this weekend." Renka suggested the date.
"The weekend, I like that. We can leave from the dojo to just walk around and visit some places; I even know this one little place that could be a good stop." Inuyasha said.
"Perfect, it looks like we got the plan for our very first date." Renka nodded.
"Shit, when you say it like that, I'm already feeling nervous." Inuyasha said, feeling like something could go wrong from here.
"Don't worry, I'm sure everything is going to be just fine." Renka believed.
"So, what do we do now?" Inuyasha asked.
"How about we train for the day? After all, you'll need to use the Wind Scar move more on your own and maybe work on it more to make it your own move." Renka suggested training.
"My own move, huh?" Inuyasha looked down at the sheath of the Tessaiga, remembering back when he first used the full version of the move on those demons during the exam.
The feeling he felt back then when being surrounded by over a hundred demons and the feelings he pours into the sword, his feelings for some things and the most was for Renka. He knew that he needs to work on mastering that technique for his quest to become the strongest fighter in the world.
A strong warrior who will surpass his father someday too.
"Training sounds like a great idea!" Inuyasha smirked.
"Great! Let's get Shigure to train us as well since she pointed out your style is still sloppy in a way." Renka mentioned.
Inuyasha and Renka jump down from the rooftop to find the weapon master, but unknown to them is that Master Kensei was hiding on the rooftop having to overheard everything those two were talking about including the date this weekend.
"Hmm, things might be moving a little too fast for those two, but it sounds like a funny romance story." Kensei smirked with a chuckle.
(Nighttime, Renka's Room)
Renka lands her head on the pillow with a happy sigh as she looks up at the ceiling, feeling really happy that she is going on her first date with Inuyasha.
"Oh man, even though I already know what to expect, my heart won't stop pounding about me going on an actual date with Inuyasha!" Renka giggled.
"But there is one problem… What exactly does one do on a date?" Renka asked herself a big question.
"Fucking idiot… I should've thought of this more before saying yes to Inuyasha." Renka groaned as she turns on her futon.
"Great, now I'm feeling really worried that I might mess this up on our relationship that we only just started." Renka worried.
And then she heard knocking from outside her room.
"Yes?" Renka wondered who that could be right now.
"It's us, Kagome and Miu. Do you mind if we come in?" Kagome asked.
"Sure, it's open." Renka allowed her friends to enter. Miu and Kagome enter her bedroom.
"Hey Renka, are you feeling okay?" Miu asked.
"Why wouldn't I be okay?" Renka asked back.
"Because we notice how you and Inuyasha have been acting toward each other, like you two are expecting something soon." Kagome said with a sly grin.
"What? I don't know what you're talking about." Renka chuckled.
"Come on, girl. You can tell us." Kagome said as she plays with Renka's little twin tails.
"Hey, knock it off!" Renka laughed.
"Hey, I want to join too!" Miu giggled as she gets behind Renka and start tickling her.
"No fair, I was distracted!" Renka laughed some more, feeling overpowered by her two best friends.
"Okay, okay, I'll talk!" Renka was defeated from the tickling attack.
"So, what's on your mind?" Kagome asked.
"Well, Inuyasha and I were having a moment together on the rooftop earlier. And he asks me out on a date." Renka revealed.
Miu and Kagome's jaws drop upon hearing this and look at each other for a moment before they squeal with excitement.
"Girl, that is wonderful!" Miu smiled.
"I know, bet you guys have lots of plans." Kagome said.
"Not really, we only planned that we'll be going out this weekend and there is this little place that Inuyasha mentioned he wants to take me." Renka shook her head.
"What kind of place is it?" Miu asked.
"I don't know, he didn't say. Probably just want to show me than talking about it." Renka shrugged.
"Wait a minute, you're going on your first date. Your very first date!" Miu gasped.
"Yeah, it is." Renka nodded, blushing a bit.
"Damn, girl. You'll need to get ready when that weekend comes because it's going to be a memory that will last forever in your head!" Kagome pointed out.
"I know, but the thing is I don't know how exactly to get ready for a date. Like what I would even wear, should I get myself a new hairstyle, and how much makeup I need to put on. And what about having to laugh at whatever jokes he makes even if they're not really funny!" Renka asked some questions and started to freak out a bit.
"Easy Renka, we're here for you." Miu placed a hand on Renka's shoulder.
"Yeah girl, we can totally help you because in case you've forgotten, we have been reading some teen magazines involving advises on dates." Kagome pulled out a magazine from inside her pajama shirt.
"Oh yeah, I mostly read those things because of the funny adds and seeing how physic those people are in the pictures." Renka remembered reading those magazines.
"Well, one of the important things you should know by now is to always be yourself but add in just a tiny pinch of difference on yourself to make the date feel excited." Kagome said while looking at one of the pages of the magazine.
"What kind of pinch?" Renka asked.
"I don't know, I guess that all up to you." Kagome shrugged.
"Oh, we should also go out together for dress shopping to make your appearance look very beautiful that Inuyasha can't take his eyes off from you." Miu grinned.
"Whoa, I don't think I want to go that much extreme. I mean we only just started." Renka said.
"Which is why it has to be extra special for you two." Miu leaned onto Renka on the left side.
"And we're going to help you the best way we can." Kagome smiled as she leans onto the right.
"Thanks, you girls are the best friend a girl could ask for." Renka smiled as she wraps her arms on both her friends.
(Weekend)
The day has come for Inuyasha and Renka to have their first day together with the boy already waiting outside of the dojo building just wearing his usual clothing, but he cleaned himself well in the shower and used a special shampoo along with a black tie around his neck.
"I don't know if the tie is necessary." Inuyasha looked at the tie.
"Looks like you're ready." Kensei said, suddenly showing up behind Inuyasha.
"If you're trying to scare me, too bad. I got bigger things to worry about." Inuyasha was unfazed of Kensei showing up.
"I just wanna say good luck on the date with my daughter." Kensei said.
"Oh, thanks." Inuyasha thanked.
"But be warn… If anything happens to my one and only child, the joy of me and my wife's life, then you will suffer a fate worse than death!" Kensei warned with a dark aura and pure white dangerous eyes.
Inuyasha felt really scared from that and almost shit himself, but he wouldn't let that stop him.
"I promise that I would even put my own life on the line for Renka." Inuyasha said with the level of seriousness in his eyes.
"Alright. You two have fun, but not too much!" Kensei said with a suddenly cheerful mood and went off.
"(Fuck, that old man is really something when it comes to Renka.)" Inuyasha thought commented.
"Hey, Inuyasha. Did I keep your waiting for long?" Renka asked, walking up to him.
"No, it's all fine…" Inuyasha was awestruck when he turned around and saw Renka.
Renka is now wearing a beautiful light red dress-like shirt and cute yellow jeans with shoes that match her eyes. Her hair looks smoother too and down instead of the usual small twin tails.
"Do I look okay?" Renka asked.
"You're amazing." Inuyasha answered.
"You look wonderful too. I see you added a tie." Renka noticed that.
"It was Akisame-Sensei's idea. Don't know why I thought of wearing this." Inuyasha said.
"I think it's cute." Renka played with the tie a bit.
"Ready to get this date started?" Renka asked, offering her arm to him.
"Ready." Inuyasha took the arm into his and they start talking together.
Inuyasha and Renka go walking through some streets while looking at some things along the way like seeing some kids playing with a peaceful and cute wolf demon, meeting a mascot that is doing a dance for advertisement and took a picture with it, and stopped a potted plant that was place on the spot because of someone pass on and the ghost person appreciated it.
"Look, there it is." Inuyasha pointed forward at a small store.
"Is that the place you mentioned?" Renka asked.
"Yeah." Inuyasha nodded as they arrive seeing that everything inside candy inside in several kinds.
"A small candy store? So cute!" Renka smiled as she took a couple of pictures.
"I used to come here all the time with my mom when I was a little kid, he would get me candy whenever I was feeling down or angry." Inuyasha explained.
"Sounds like all the time." Renka joked a little.
"Whatever. The point is this candy place has been the go-to for anything sweet to even when my mom was a little kid." Inuyasha said.
"Although, I hadn't come here in a long time since… my mom died." Inuyasha looked down, feeling sad of his mom's passing.
"Well, you're here now and remembering her. That's what's important." Renka stated and kiss him on the lips for a few seconds.
"Come on, I wanna see what kind of candy they have here." Renka smiled.
"Well, here are some of my favorites." Inuyasha showed some candies to Renka as they continued with their date.

Inuyasha and Renka are having their first date, and everything seems to be going well with some help from others preparing them for the date, and even going to a small but special candy store that he used to go to with his mom years ago. Now they are sharing those memories together.
