Tommy landed in a clearing a few miles from his home and dropped the hold that he had on Hayley. He stayed in his morphed state and felt the anger flowing through him as Hayley spun around to see what had happened. He watched her still as she looked at his morphed form and she shook her head.
"You're going to use your powers to stop me?" Hayley scoffed as she dropped the fire extinguisher and laughed at him. She had gotten to him in ways that she had never imagined she would be able to. Tommy did not come after civilians in his ranger form, it was one of the primary rules he had around when to use his ranger powers. "My plan was perfect!"
"Was this part of your plan too?" Tommy asked as Hayley stilled, realizing that this had never been part of her plan. She had never planned to have Tommy come in like this: angry and pulling on his full ranger powers. It went against everything they had wanted to achieve. "I didn't think so. How do you want to do this?"
"You'll never kill me. They'll know it was you," Hayley said as she walked over to him and he let out a growl as she touched him. "You're too pure, Tommy."
"Maybe he isn't," Jason said as he landed in the clearing and Hayley jerked around to face him. She thought that she could bargain with Tommy, but she knew that she could not bargain with Jason or any of the other rangers. They did not have the same ties to her that Tommy did. "None of us trust that you're not going to keep coming back and keep trying to kill her."
"I'll tell you what I did to Ollie," Hayley bargained and Tommy shook his head. He had gathered enough information from all of the notes that she had taken and he knew that they had broken the connection. He was more concerned that she still had something planned for the rest of his family that he was unaware of. "Tommy, you can't do this."
"You should have thought about what I would do before you came after my family. Andros!" Tommy called and a ray of red light landed next to him. Tommy de-morphed and stalked towards Hayley. "You have a place ready?"
"Yeah," Andros said as Tommy nodded and he held his hand back behind him. Andros handed him a set of shackles, laced with an energy that ran through the Oliver line.
"I'm not letting you put those on," Hayley said as she started to run and Tommy tackled her to the ground, finally unleashing some of his pent up fury. Andros and Jason let him wail on her for a few moments before they pulled him off and he let out a roar that even scared them.
"Hey- they're going to be safe- those shackles are enchanted in such a way that the entire Oliver line has to die before they would be ineffective and she'll be dead long before then," Andros said as Tommy stared up at the sky as he just nodded. They had come to him a few weeks ago with an alternative to killing Hayley and he'd jumped on it. He had a hard time murdering someone, even if it was something that was going to keep his family safe. He had killed more monsters than he could count, but he never wanted to add a human to that list.
"Throw away the key," Tommy said as Andros and Jason shackled her and Andros just nodded. He disappeared with Hayley and Tommy looked over at Jason. "Thank you. I'm assuming Billy called you."
"Yeah, crayon box," Jason muttered as Tommy looked over at him and he just shook his head. "You're going to have to ask Billy about that one. He called and I could hear his staff freaking out in the background. What did you do?"
"Teleported in, grabbed her, and teleported out," Tommy said as he gave him a confused look. "I may have gone in, in the most dramatic way possible."
"You going to get back?" Jason asked as Tommy morphed and he looked over at him. "Ummm…what are you doing a show of force for?"
"Security team," Tommy said with a laugh as Jason just shook his head. "It'll be easier to explain it to the staff."
"I'm glad we found another way," Jason said as they both let out a collective sigh. They didn't want Tommy to do something he would never come back from and they had all been sure that this would have pushed him past the point of no return. None of them had talked with Kimberly about it, but that was also part of why they had been desperate to find another way. Kim wasn't going to be able to pull him back right now and they would need her to do that if he'd gone down this road. "Go- I'll handle anything else Andros needs."
"Thanks, Jase." Tommy disappeared in a ray of white light and Jason felt himself fully relax for the first time in weeks. They'd managed to get Hayley out of picture and now they could focus on the most important things- healing Kim…and Ollie.
"You can come in," Billy said as the white ranger nodded at him and then took a step into the O.R. The team stared at the two of them as Tommy crossed his arms and leaned against the door. "Oh c'mon don't go for intimidating."
"I'm not intimidating," Tommy said as he reached up and pulled off his helmet and folded his arms again. "Did it go okay?"
"Yeah, except for a patient trying to break in and you moonbeaming in, out of nowhere, grabbing her, and peacing the fuck out again," Amber ranted as Tommy covered his mouth as he tried not to laugh. "This isn't funny!"
"Moonbeaming is a new one. Do I really need to explain who we are?" Tommy asked as the hospital staff all looked at each other and then fervently nodded. "Logical inferences aren't taught in medical school?"
"Tommy," Billy warned as he motioned for Billy to go on. "This is Tommy Oliver. He was…is…was a Power Ranger on multiple teams, so was his wife, and so was I. There's a few things that have happened where this was necessary. Hayley is…"
"On her way to prison," Tommy replied as the doctors continued to freak out. "This really isn't helping to calm them down and I can see that she's starting to come out of it. I want to be back in the waiting room to at least cover where I've been."
"Is the woman alive?" Will asked as Tommy nodded his head yes and he glanced between Tommy and Billy. He had worked with Billy for years and had known of a friend of his called Tommy for much of that time. He had never expected this. He had never expected the laws Billy was willing to bend for this man and his family. "Did she try…was she going to kill…"
"This is the third time she's tried to kill my wife in six weeks," Tommy said as Kim let out a groan and he glanced between all of them. "Her stats?"
"They're good right now, but you probably need to go before she gets more conscious," Billy said as Tommy placed his helmet back on and then teleported out of the O.R. bay. Amber added a bag of pain medication to the iv pole as Billy glanced around the O.R. Something felt wrong, but he didn't know what it was. With everything that had happened during this surgery, he just shrugged it off as nerves that the other shoe was going to drop. "It's not just his wife she went after- it's their kids too. I know that this is far out of the realm of normal, but if she had gotten in here…"
"We know and we…we weren't going to keep her out- I get why you called him in. We'll keep your secret," Amber whispered as Kim let out a whimper from the pain and moved one of her hands towards her head. "Okay- let's get her rolling to recovery."
"I didn't mean to put you in this position," Billy said as the staff looked at him and gave him a knowing smile. "You knew."
"Yeah. Kat let it slip years ago. None of us were prepared for THAT though."
