Halo, it's time for the newest chapter. Enjoy the reading.
Things got really out of hand, Roman defected to the enemy, Cinder disappeared, the White Fang shattered, the relic was lost and Ozpin returned very soon to lead Qrow and the Hunter Apprentices.
Neo just twirled Roman's hat in her hand as she looked out the window of the plane, seeing the dark, bleak wastelands where nothing could be seen for miles but rocks, barren lands and Grimm as far as the eye could see.
"We'll soon be back at Salem's hideout," she thought to herself as she saw the huge rock formation with a fort built on top when Mercury put the plane down on a jutting rock.
As soon as the engine shut down, Neo and the other passengers, Emerald, Mercury and Hazel got off the plane. Emerald and Mercury went in front, followed by Neo and Hazel in the back. They headed straight for the entrance of the fortress, where a polished purple crystal path led to a set of stone-carved steps, but at the bottom of it stood a familiar, unpleasant figure.
- Welcome back. - Tyrion greeted them with a wide grin and his usual crazy look. - I hope, - He put his hand to his chest and bowed politely. - you missed us as much as we missed you. - He looked up and grinned evilly at the newcomers.
- Let's go. – Hazel didn't say a word, he just ordered the others to follow.
The members of the team just followed the big man in a neat line and Tyrion stared at them in silence, but as Emerald and Neo passed them, he noticed two things.
- Speaking of which, - He slyly smirked at Neo. - where did our friend with the hat go? – Neo just stopped, clenched Hush' hilt tightly and turned back to the crazy faunus. - I can see his hat, but not him. – His eyes sparkled with hope. - Is he dead? – Neo just ran her thumb along her throat, pointing at Tyrion, who backed away with feigned horror after Neo pointed Hush's tip at him. - Oh, are you threatening?
- Roman sided with the enemy! - Hazel quickly intervened before Neo and Tyrion could fall for each other.
- Hm, - Tyrion was just shocked by this news. – a real shame. - He just said quietly to himself. - To betray our mistress... - He shook his head. — a terrible crime for which he must dwell. – He started breathing quickly and abundantly and grinning with pleasure. - I can't wait to quench the traitor's blood and hear his dying screams as his soul leaves his body in agony.
After lowering Hush and hooking its grip into her arm, Neo just started pointing angrily.
- Yeah. – Neo continued to point and Tyrion just nodded, bending down and smiling stupidly. - Yeah. Yes. Good. I have no idea what you're talking about because I don't understand sign language. – As soon as Neo heard this, she angrily stopped pointing and reached for her Scroll but Emerald preceded her.
- She wants to finish Roman herself.
- Ah, - Tyrion shook his head at this statement, as if he had just understood everything. – a romance that ends in tragedy! - He put his hands together and laid his head on them like a pillow. - That's my favorite kind. - He straightened up and walked towards Neo, whose eyes didn't blink, then she raised Hush again and pointed at him, but Tyrion, as if he didn't notice, bent down and pressed his head against the parasol. - May I give you a piece of advice, little lady? - Neo just narrowed her eyes boldly, indicating that she didn't like people commenting on her height. She wasn't startled by Tyrion or showed any other emotion. - Don't rush it. - He whispered. - Make sure he suffers. - He licked his lips and giggled. - Feel every second of pain and agony you didn't even know existed... - Before he could finish, a blade popped out of Hush's tip, which Tyrion managed to jump back at the last moment. - Oh! You are full of surprises, little lady.
Neo didn't waste any time on this madman, she just returned to the company of Hazel, Emerald, and Mercury but Tyrion wasn't done with the team's reckoning.
- Anyway, - He considered it smarter not to tease Neo, because she is the strongest in the team after Hazel. – what happened to our Fall Maiden? - He asked as he stood up and dusted himself off. Emerald stopped and remembered the loss of Cinder, which Tyrion also felt and giggled.
- Emerald, come on! - Mercury said to her, and she angrily clenched her fists.
- She just didn't switched side too, did she? - Tyrion scoffed with feigned empathy and continued to laugh.
- I will cut off more than a tail! - Emerald couldn't stand someone talking to Cinder like that in her presence, so she took out her weapons and pointed them at him.
- Careful, little girl, - Tyrion though he kept the distance from Neo, but he wasn't so distant with Emerald, even calling her girl, instead of lady. - Cinder isn't here to protect you right now. - He held his head towards her, directly to the blades of her weapon, feeling Emerald's fear and trembling, he dragged one of the blades along his own face, which started to bleed and the pain caused a kind of pleasure. - Take an example from her. - He nudged Neo for a moment. - That girl looked straight into my eyes and didn't even flinch. You, on the other hand, tremble like a poplar leaf. - He continued to cackle menacingly, causing Emerald to step back in horror.
- Back off, freak! – Mercury rose to Emerald's defense and stood between them.
- Don't get me wrong. – The smile froze on Tyrion's face. - I'm just as angry and disappointed about Cinder's death and Roman's betrayal as you are. After all, that means you've failed our queen. And this, - He lowered his head in disappointment. – a tragedy indeed. - There was one thing that comforted him in this tragedy, plus the punishment that Salem would inflict on them.
He began to laugh out loud in the eternal night as the returning party just entered the fortress, dreading what kind of punishment Salem had in store for them.
- I just can't believe this! - Watts angrily tossed the lottery tickets all over the boardroom.
- I said you will lose, Arthur. - Salem only supported her head with one elbow as they watched the lottery draw through her crystal ball.
- But how…?! - Watts still didn't understand, since his calculations were perfect. - Why can't I ever collect a damn winning ticket?! My tip-mix for this month has gone again!
- You want to control the numbers instead of listening to what they tell you. – Watts just blinked at Salem incomprehensibly, as if she had said something very crazy, but he certainly wouldn't dare to tell her that.
- Mistress, excuse me, but what does this mean?
- They arrived. - Salem, as if she hadn't heard Watts' question, pulled herself out, turned off the lottery transmission in the crystal ball and waited for her people to arrive.
Hazel was the first, followed by Neo, Emerald and Mercury, who just knelt down and worried, since she didn't have to say it, but Salem was clearly expecting a report.
Hazel launched into the full report of what had happened from the point he recruited the White Fang to the point where they lost Cinder, Roman, the relic and had to escape from Haven like beaten dogs. During the report, Tyrion also came in and took a seat at the council table carved out of stone and sat on pins and needles waiting for their punishment.
- I would really like you to explain, - Salem began after listening to the entire report. Her voice was neither loud nor stern, she simply waited for an answer. – how could you fail so spectacularly?
- The faunus militia divided the… - Hazel started, but Salem found it very objectionable, so he stopped.
- Stop. – Hazel remained silent and lowered his head in fear.
Salem just held her hands together, closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
- Let me rephrase the question. – Her voice became a bit stricter, which made all 4 of them more and more afraid. - Who is responsible for our defeats? – Hazel looked at the young people, he didn't want any of them to suffer, since they were still so young, they didn't deserve it. He stood up and pulled himself out.
- I take full responsibility.
- BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT I ASKED! - Salem roared loudly and used her magic to lift and throw the stone table aside, knocking Tyrion to the ground. She moved closer and closer to Hazel as Neo, Mercury and Emerald stood up in horror and Hazel took a step back.
- I don't... - Hazel couldn't even finish before a dozen Grimm arms crawled up from the ground onto the man, grabbing him and forcing him to the floor. No matter how hard he tried, he was simply unable to move. There he laid vulnerable and helpless at Salem's feet.
- Neopolitan, - Salem turned to the girl, who flinched at her gaze, as she noticed Roman's hat on her. – who is responsible for the defeat? – Neo didn't hesitate, with her Semblance she took on Roman's form, then Cinder's, then changed back into her own form. Salem was silent for a moment before turning to Emerald.
- Emerald, - The girl began to gasp loudly and shiver and it didn't take much for her to vomit on the spot. – I want you to tell me too, whose fault do you think it was? – As she stepped closer and closer to her, Emerald was overcome by fainting and when Salem was only a step away from her, she stopped. - Now.
- Roman's and Cinder's! - Emerald burst out. - We failed because of Roman's betrayal and Cinder's mistake! - Salem just stood silently between the two girls.
- Exactly. It's their fault. - She whispered quietly. - They both deserve punishment. - She put her right hand on Neo's shoulder. - Know that as long as that man lives, you will never be free and he will influence you forever, little bird. Do everything to cut that rock off you. - She then placed her left hand on Emerald's shoulder. - And for you, I want you to understand this fall. And of course, why Cinder should be left to languish in her own isolation until she redeems herself. – She let the two girls go, but what she said was a complete surprise to everyone.
- You mean… - Mercury could hardly believe his ears.
- Is she alive? - It was a relief for Emerald to know that Cinder, if not here, was at least alive.
- Impossible! - Watts just shook his head skeptically. - How would you know that?
- You dare to question, - Tyrion hissed sternly at the doctor. – our almighty mistress?!
- Um... - Watts just backed away in horror, then looked towards Salem, who was standing over the still captive Hazel, but her dark and red eyes were staring directly at him. - of course not! - He quickly lowered his head. - I apologize.
- It's very important, - Salem just started her speech. – that we don't forget what drives us. - She looked at Neo. - Love, - To Emerald. — loyalty, — To Watts. - justice, - To Tyrion. – respect, - to Mercury. – power, - Finally to Hazel. – and revenge. But the moment you put your own desires before mine, - He looked down at Hazel, who was still writhing helplessly in the grip of the Grimm's arms. - they will be lost to you forever. - She finally let go of Hazel, who gasped in relief and stepped forward towards the others. - It's not a threat, - She spread her arms. - this is simply the truth. You can find the only way to your goal only through me. - She looked over her people, who were more than willing to follow their mistress further. - And that's why we have to keep going. The Sword of Destruction is in Vacuo at Shade Academy… - Before she explained his plan, Hazel interrupted her.
- Mistress. - Shocked and tense silence took over the room and everyone turned their attention to him. - There's something else I need to report. - Salem narrowed her eyes sternly, using her hand to summon the Grimm arms from the ground again, indicating that she would punish Hazel again if he dared to interrupt her for nothing. – Qrow and the kids take the lantern to Atlas. - He didn't care about the Grimm arms, he still continued what he was saying.
- Not, - Tyrion just chuckled and began to rub his hands together hoping for a rematch with Qrow. - if it's on me.
- And they're lead by, - Hazel continued. - Ozpin. – With that one sentence, he set a nerve in Salem that made her need all her strength to contain the anger that suddenly surged inside her, but even so, she was shaking and panting with rage.
- This fast?! - That shocked even Tyrion.
- He's the only person, - Watts quickly understood that this was a serious threat. – who can reach Ironwood! If this happens…
Suddenly, the sound of cracks and shattering glass filled the room, which scared everyone and they looked at the increasingly angry Salem, who was completely overcome by anger and the desire for revenge.
- Leave! - She ordered everyone.
- Mistress, I… - Tyrion tried to calm her down, but to no avail, the tremors and clangs were getting louder and more powerful.
It was clear that Salem had now become a time bomb, Hazel knew this well, he grabbed the arms of the two girls, Neo and Emerald, and began to drag them out of the room.
- Come quickly. – He warned them and together with the others, they left the room as quickly as possible, hoping that Salem's anger would not fall on them.
It was quiet for a few seconds as the door to the room closed, but it didn't take long to hear Salem's gut-wrenching screams, windows breaking and loud explosions coming from the room.
The bitter taste of defeat she had suffered from a few seconds, thanks for an inattention moment faded for Cinder as she suddenly swallowed a pile of water, thawing out of her ice prison, her only remaining eye popped open and she became aware that she was underwater. She could barely move her frozen, ice-cold limbs, but the will to live and fear gave her enough energy to turn on the power of Maiden, her eye began to glow yellow and to gain enough strength to swim to the surface of the water. There was hardly any air in her lungs and her chances of survival were getting worse and worse when she swallowed another dose of water and due to the lack of oxygen, she began to pass out.
As soon as she poked her head out of the water, she gasped for air loudly and with relief, then limped to the nearest shore in a feeble, dog-like swim, then crawled onto solid ground on all fours. Exhausted, she panted, then threw up several liters of water, which she had swallowed earlier and fell to the ground shivering.
She was cold, Raven's ice and the water had frozen her so much that her aura had completely turned off. To warm herself, she tried with her right human hand start a fire with the power of the Maiden, but she could do only a few weak sparks, then the left Grimm's hand angrily slammed into the ground, causing some rocks to fall past her and see sunlight through a crack. She reached into the pocket of her wet clothes to take out her Scroll, but in vain, the device didn't turn on, because it was completely soaked and ruined, which she threw away in anger.
She looked up and saw the orange-colored flowers of the tree in front of the Vault of the Spring Maiden, which was at least 2-3 km high from where she fell. For a moment she thought about going back to get revenge on Raven, but that thought was quickly dismissed when she realized that Raven and the relic were probably no longer there. She had failed and she knew Salem wouldn't forgive her failure until she showed something to impress her mistress.
She gathered her remaining physical strength into the Grimm's arm and punched towards the crack, digging a tunnel big enough to fit through. She dug with her claws for at least an hour and still only managed to create a small hole and it took another half hour to get out like a worm. For a moment she was worried that she would be stuck, but she pushed like crazy until she finally squeezed herself out of the hole and she was free.
She found herself in a cave, but she didn't stop, she just kept climbing, she even stood up, but she could only walk with a limp and as luck she would have, it just started to rain and the sky thundered. The raindrops were like thousands of tiny needles that kept pricking her body. She was tired, weak, her red clothes were torn, wet and muddy, she fell to her knees and fell on her face in the mud.
She felt pitiful, lying there in the mud, like a beaten dog and not having the strength to even get up.
- Gods... - She suddenly heard a worried female voice, the source of which was right in front of her. She could have been a farmer who lived on a farm on the outskirts of town. She wore a yellow kimono with a white blouse underneath, black knee socks and slippers. In her hand was a basket of fruits and vegetables, which she probably bought for her family. - Are you feeling all right? Where from... - She dropped the basket in terror and was speechless when she saw Cinder's left, Grimm's arm.
Cinder's eye started to glow yellow and her face was like that of a predator that had just spotted her prey. She wanted the woman's dry, clean and warm clothes to replace her own wet, dirty and torn clothes, she wanted the basket of fruit and vegetables because she was hungry, she wanted the woman's working Scroll because she wanted to know what day it was and how much time had passed since Raven defeated her. She wanted everything this woman owned.
As she focused all her attention on the Grimm's arm, she forgot about the human's arm and didn't notice that she summoned a dark glass sword, which she used to chop her head off with one precise cut, causing her to fall to the ground, but her eyes were still horrified and shocked.
The body, like a lifeless doll, went limp and fell, but before it fell into the mud, Cinder got to her feet and quickly caught and carried it back to the cave, in front of the hole from which she also climbed out. She didn't hold back and began stripping the headless corpse, presenting a sight as if a hungry predator had pounced on her unfortunate prey.
It was a real relief to take off her own soaked and torn red dress, to get rid of her wet stockings, her high heels and even her bra and panties. After undressing, completely naked, she didn't hesitate to put on her panties, bra, black knee socks, white blouse and yellow hooded kimono. Finally, she had dry, warm and clean clothes.
She started rummaging in her new pockets and found the woman's Scroll, which didn't even have a screen lock and she unlocked it easily. The wallpaper had a photo of a baby whose mother she had just killed, but that didn't affect Cinder, but the fact that it had been a week since her fight with Raven did.
She was frozen at the bottom of the Vault's pond for a week. It wouldn't have surprised her if her companions and Salem thought she was dead and it was the best for her anyway. Thinking, she left the cave and caught her eye on the basket dropped by the woman who had been killed and looted earlier, in which, in addition to vegetables and fruits, she even noticed a piece of bread.
She remembered how hungry she was, so she didn't even think about taking it. She bit into one of the apples, then broke off the bread and greedily stuffed it into herself. She didn't care about manners or what she put into her mouth, because as she ate the rest of the carrots, onions and potatoes, all raw and unpeeled, her hunger diminished and her strength returned.
She would have been happy with some meat, but at least she won't starve. It didn't even bother her that her mouth stank of onions and that she could still feel the pieces of dirt left from the potatoes peel in her mouth, because she regained her strength and was able to continue her mission.
She also found some bandages in the basket, in which she wrapped her Grimm arm, as she thought it wiser to hide it, because it would only cause unpleasant attention and unnecessary panic to others. As soon as she was done with everything, she headed for Mistral's underworld.
It was one thing to know from the news and quite another to see Mistral's underworld, a sea of dark, dirty alleys where all sorts of dubious figures came and went in the narrow streets, going about their own dubious and probably illegal business.
- …Cinder Fall, - She immediately raised her head when she heard her name, but was relieved that it was just a digital bulletin board with pictures of herself, Emerald, Mercury, Adam Neo, Roman, Raven and Hazel. – Emerald Sustral, Mercury, Black, Roman Torchwick, Neopolitan and Raven Branwen are still on the run. If you have any information about the whereabouts of these individuals, please notify Mistral authorities immediately.
Cinder just rolled her eyes, put on her hood and blended in with the many passers-by as if she had always lived here in Mistral. As she walked along the street, she saw several dealers, but she couldn't have determined which one was legal, as there were gun dealers who proudly praised their wares and tried to convince the potential customers. In another alley, some dubious figures exchanged Dust for a stack of Lien and as soon as the transaction was over, they immediately parted ways without even saying hello.
Despite the pouring rain and the crowd of people, Cinder saw a graffiti in the shape of a white spider's web on the wall of one of the buildings, with a white spider also painted in the middle. She knew well what the crest of the Spiders meant. During her time in Mistral, Watts was quite thorough and scouted the most important criminal gangs in Mistral's underworld, of which the Spiders were the most powerful.
The graffiti marks marked the boundaries and Cinder saw more and more of the marks the closer she got to the bar that served as their headquarters.
There was no door at the entrance to the bar, only a gate that was wide open and the entrance was covered by a blue curtain with Mistral's crest on it. As soon as she entered, Cinder was hit by the smell of cigarette smoke and strong alcohol and heard the conversation of the guests, but also felt that most eyes were watching her.
She headed for a table at the end of the lounge where a woman was sitting alone, eating a bowl of fruit curd. The woman, who must have been in her forties, had short, shoulder-length blonde hair and wore a purple evening dress that left her shoulders bare, revealing a spider web tattoo on her shoulder. Cinder knew exactly who this woman was.
- That's far enough. – The woman quickly realized that she was heading towards Cinder, when her two bodyguards, a man and a woman, stepped in front of her table and thought it wiser to stop. She took out a small bag, which she threw on the table and a pile of Lien fell out of it. - Okay. - The woman smiled as her bodyguards stepped aside, letting Cinder in closer as she sat down at the table so they could talk.
- Are you Little Ms. Malachite? - She put it there in a matter of fact and disrespectful way that Ms. Malachite really didn't like.
- I'll be Little Ms. Toss you to the spiders, - She angrily opened the fan in her hand and glared at Cinder warningly. - if you dare to talk to me like that again! - She looked at the big pile of money. - Thanks to your fortune, you can get away with a warning.
- Sorry, - Cinder just bowed apologetically. – but it's very urgent. – Ms. Malachite just folded her fan and got to the point.
- What do you want?
Luckily, Cinder was able to use her Scroll to access her own email and find old pictures of Team RWBY and Team JNPR that Emerald, Mercury, and Neo had taken at Beacon practices and the Vytal festival.
- I'm looking for these travelers.
- Well, my dear, - Ms. Malachite just smiled. - you have come to the best place. - A sudden cheer startled Cinder and she almost jumped, but when she looked back, she was relieved to see that one of the table parties was only greeting an acquaintance she had seen for a long time. – Oh my, - Ms. Malachite just turned her fan in her hand. - are we nervous? You know, - She smiled evilly at Cinder. - I used to be afraid of spiders. Do you know what I did?
- Did you learn to kill them? - Cinder guessed.
- Oh no! - Malachite just rolled her eyes. - The world needs spies and I got the spiders to obey me. - She spread her arms and looked around the bar and all the patrons, all of whom, Cinder realized too late, all had the same spider web tattoos that Malachite had. - These young people can be very popular, - She looked again at the Scroll, which showed the pictures of the two teams. – since you are the third person looking for them.
- Who are the other two? - Cinder put her right hand on her hip and Ms. Malachite just smiled.
- I guess you're familiar with them, - One of her bodyguards took out a digital bulletin board with pictures of Cinder and the others. - Cinder? – As soon as she heard her name, Cinder took a step back, but Ms. Malachite just grabbed a yellow metal cigarette case, in which she filled the tobacco, the other bodyguard lit it and took a smoke. - You don't have to worry, if you mix your cards well and are lucky, you might even get out of here alive.
- What if I'm not lucky? - Cinder suspected. - Will you give me up at the police. - Ms. Malachite laughed heartily at her guess, but even her two bodyguards just smiled.
- No, then you're even lucky. - She just held out her hands and explained as if it was so natural. - In the unfortunate case, we kill you, disembowel you and toss you to the spiders. - She took another drag from her cigarette.
- What do you want from me anyway? – Cinder knew well that Ms. Malachite wasn't making empty threats, but she also knew that if she didn't give her up for the bounty and didn't kill her, then she wanted something from her.
- Introducing the second team, - Ms. Malachite stood up and headed for the stairs leading to the bar floor. - who were looking for these kids.
The two bodyguards motioned for Cinder to follow their boss, which she did without a word. There were a few more tables upstairs, but there were far fewer people than downstairs. Ms. Malachite pointed to two figures sitting in one corner, one was a man and the other was a woman.
- I think you know each other.
The man wore a pair of stretchy work boots, stained beige pants, and a sand-colored hooded jacket, the hood of which was pulled low over his face to cover it. The woman was wearing a pair of black sneakers, a pair of long pants, short black jeans, a black long-sleeved T-shirt and a beanie. One of them was pouring sake from a bottle into a small cup.
Cinder, as she approached them to examine their faces, saw that the man wore a black blindfold over his eyes, while the woman had a black fox tail. Seeing their faces made Cinder almost laugh.
- Well, well, - Cinder crossed her arms and smiled at her two acquaintances. - the sounds of the revolution are hiding from the authorities in such a place. What are you doing here, Adam, Mandy?
- Cinder, - Adam just put down the small cup of sake and looked up at the one-eyed woman. – how are you not dead?
- I'm sure that luck also played a part. - Mandy added.
- I'm hard to kill. – Cinder just proudly put her hand on her hip and then looked at Adam. - Although we certainly have that in common.
- It's nice to see, - Ms. Malachite just folded her hands. – this joyous reunion. If you feel like you've made up for lost time, you can find me on the ground floor. I have a mutually beneficial proposition for all of us. - With that, she turned and went downstairs with her men.
- What happened to you? - Mandy asked Cinder. - Your companions left Haven without you Raven and Roman. We know Roman defected to the enemy, but what happened to you and Raven? We thought you were dead.
- It was very close. – She sat down, took the sake bottle and poured it into another cup for herself. - Raven turned against us too.
- Wasn't your plan, - Adam guessed, a little indignant. – that you finish her off as soon as that girl, Vernal, opens the gate to the relic? Why did you delay the blast?
- She saw through us. - Cinder took a drink of the sake. - And she stepped first.
- And the others didn't help you? - Mandy shook her head. - I mean, we know there was Qrow, the Hunter students, Roman, Raven, and Vernal, but even so, you should have been able to defeat them.
- The truth is, - Cinder needed another cup of sake to admit her own mistake. – that the others weren't with me. – The confused looks of the two faunus clearly indicated that they were waiting for an explanation. - The others stayed behind to take care of Qrow, Roman, and the students while I obtained the relic and the power of the Spring Maiden.
- You… - Mandy looked at Cinder like she was an idiot. – went down to the Vault alone to confront Raven Branwen and the Spring Maiden? Was there even a second where you thought this was a bad idea?
- Yes, - Cinder slammed the table angrily. – in retrospect, I realize that it was a stupid mistake! Besides, Raven was very good! It wasn't that girl the real Maiden, it was Raven herself!
- What?! - Mandy and Adam were shocked at the same time.
- One careless moment was enough, - Cinder drank a third cup of sake. - and it was over. I was just lucky to survive the fall after being frozen by Raven and being in a lake for a week. I melted out, it didn't take long for me to drown, but I got out of the lake and now I'm here.
- It's incredible what you've survived. - Mandy was impressed by Cinder's tenacity and will to live.
- And what happened to you? - Now Cinder asked. - Why didn't you blow up the academy, what happened to the White Fang, - He looked at Adam. – and why is its leader sitting in a pub, disguising himself as a civilian, while getting drunk? How do you serve the faunus with this?
- We are no longer interested in the fate of the faunus. – Adam poured himself some sake. - Our own kind betrayed us.
- We are only interested in revenge. - Mandy finished as Cinder lifted her head.
- Blake… - Adam just took another sip every time he thought about her. – she broke my heart and because of that the White Fang disowned me.
- I want to take revenge on the Schnee family, - Mandy was also haunted by memories of the past. – for ruining my life and killing my parents.
- Then clearly the fate brought us together! - Cinder's eyes lit up. - Don't you understand? - Clearly, she wanted to recruit them to serve her purpose. - I want to take revenge on Ruby myself, - She swept her hair aside, revealing a gaping hole where her left eye was and pulled the bandages a bit up from the Grimm's left arm. - for doing this to me.
- Should we be the tools of your revenge? - Adam didn't bend to the bargain easily. - Pawns that you can use to win your mistress Salem's forgiveness?
- We don't even know where they are. - Mandy joined in.
- We do not. - Cinder looked towards the stairs leading to the ground floor. - But Ms. Malachite does. We get guidance from her and the three of us together have a better chance of reaching our goal together. - Mandy looked a little unsure and looked towards Adam.
- Adam… what do you think? - Mandy didn't find anything wrong with Cinder's offer, but she could sense the deceit and fakeness in her voice.
- I know," Adam didn't answer, only Cinder did. – that you hate humans and the last time we worked together it didn't work out, but now the situation is different. There will be no one else but you, Blake and your revenge.
- There'll be a good chance, - Adam finally spoke. – that her team, including Yang, will be with her. – In the blink of an eye, he stood up, took out his katana, Wilt, and cut off the top of the sake bottle with a single, precise cut. - And I'll gladly take another limb from her as she desperately tries to protect her and she'll see the pain in Blake's eyes as she loses everything she loves and cares about. - He put Wilt away and held out his hand to Cinder.
- I'm confident, - Cinder stood up and shook Adam's hand. – that all three of us get what we want.
