So, this chapter fought me every step of the way, which is why it's so short. As recompense, the next chapter will be double length at least

The carriage stopped, letting Ruby walk out with a stretch. After two hours by carriage, they had arrived at Hargeon, a port town that would take them to the island they would be vacationing on. Walking to the back, she grabbed her, Mira, and Erza's bags and hefted them onto her shoulders. Mira and her had managed to convince Erza, for once, that she didn't need twenty bags of supplies, which was a relief. Ruby loved Erza, but she didn't get why Erza did that..
Yang walked around, grabbing her team's bags from both carriages, while Nora grabbed hers and Pyrrha's, "So, are we taking a ferry to the island?"
Ruby shook her head, "Too far away, I had to rent a yacht. We'll take about a day to get there, stay four days, then another day to get back. Everything goes according to plan, we'll get back one month exactly from the Harvest Festival."
.
"You… Rented a yacht for us," Yang said in disbelief, blinking wildly.
"I'm really proud of how you've been doing the last couple of months, Yang," Ruby said, smiling at her sister, "You've shown dedication to both learning magic and going on jobs. This is the least I can do."
They found the yacht with Ruby's name out front and climbed aboard, Ruby finding the largest bed and tossing her and the girls' things onto it. Yang meanwhile put her stuff above Blake's and Weiss's stuff above Nora's, finally, Pyrrha's stuff went alone on a bed, and she immediately stretched out on the bed below it.
Stepping out onto the deck, she saw Mirajane was already lounging in a chair, having changed into a bikini, while Erza was checking fishing supplies she had brought along.
Ruby continued into the helm, pulling out the key she had been given a week before, starting the Lacrima powered yacht and began the process of sailing out from Hargeon Harbor.

Jaune was in the forest outside of town, training on his own. Normally he'd wait for Pyrrha, but Master Makarov had made it clear that if they didn't learn some magic within three months, they were out of the Guild. After all, as he said, you couldn't be a member of a wizard guild without being a wizard.
Double checking the book, Jaune set his hand in the right position, a claw grip with the middle finger trailing behind the other three, and channeled magical power into his hand. A magic circle appeared in front of him, and he swung his hand down, dragging ash into existence as he called, "Corpse Devil's Claw!"
The four waves of coarse ash flew through the air before scattering before they hit the tree. Jaune growled, repeating the gesture, to the same results.
The most basic attack and he couldn't even do that. He had to do better, the Team were making friends with the guild, he couldn't make them leave because he was useless.
Pouring more magical energy into the spell, he tore at reality, calling loudly, "Corpse Devil's Claw!"
Finally, finally, the claws of ash smashed into the tree, ripping bark off like a sand blaster. Then he began repeating the process so he could do it on command. One attempt wasn't enough, he had to be consistent, that was the first thing Pyrrha had taught him.

Pyrrha stepped off the boat as soon as they docked on the island's port, her bag over her shoulder. Nora came a moment later, then Team BSL and Ruby Mirajane and Erza. Nora was focused on keeping a ball lightning spell going between her hands, as she had been the last hour.
Nora had shown herself to be the best out of them at magic. Maybe because her Semblance was already tied to lightning, but she had been getting sparks within the first day of actually trying.
They arrived at the hotel, Ruby walking up to the counter, "Ruby Rose, I reserved four rooms?"
"Right," the receptionist said, handing over four keys, "Would you like to pay in advance?"
"Yes," Ruby said, handing over a wad of money, the receptionist counting it out before nodding upon finding it to be an acceptable amount. Ruby turned, handing out the keys she had been given, "Me, Erza and Mirajane are sharing a suite, otherwise, pick a room and set yourself up.
