Hunt For The Mystical Medals

Many thanks to those who reviewed this fic, I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the story arc is underway…where a conflict is ongoing as one of the Detective Conan allies seemingly TURN against the heroes…which may lead to some…changes…and how this would affect the flow of the story of this fic…as the villains of this arc made their move…

At the Kougami Foundation, the scene shows that Kougami and Satonaka, along with Kyuji, Ankh, and Gotoh are monitoring the situation via the live recorded footage provided by the Batta Candroid and there it shows that Kamen Rider Birth is at a hideout where the ones who are blackmailing Birth are revealed – the politicians and military officials who are secretly members of TOKYO, and there the conversation is secretly recorded where the TOKYO members ORDERED Birth to find and kill Akasaka and Oishi through any means necessary.

"We give you an order: find Akasaka and Oishi and kill them."

"I don't care how you do it…but you better kil them without gwtting yourself caught!"

"And don't' even think about squealing us. Yopu know what's at stake here…and you know what would happen if you do…"

"So better do it immediately and no tricks."

"Do it!"

"Do it!"

"Do it!"

"Do it!"

Both Oishi and Akasaka were shocked that even some military officials are on board in this and realized why Toudou is after them, but then the next recorded conversation shows that the politicians and the corrupt military officials said that either Toudou do as told or else Natsumi would be executed immediately, causing Birth to verbally lash out but the politicians puts Birth in his place and said that if Toudou do as told Natsumi would be released unharmed.

"If you want your wife to be spared, beter do as you arte told…and you better do it right. Make a mistake…we kill her. So better do as we told you to do."

"Do it!"

"Do it!"

Gotoh felt compelled to do something but Kougami urged him to calm down as he tell him to observe first before doing anything, reasoning that something unexpected might take place, which Kyuji asked Kougami if he is sure about this, worried that things might escalate but Kougami assured to him that everything is in place and that Toudou's wife will be rescued and Toudou himself would be free from the blackmailing.

Kougami then told everyone to be patient as he said that he is mplanning something oput, which the others reluctantly nodded in acknowledgement.

"Okay."

"Okay."

"Okay."

"Okay."

"Okay."

"Okay."

"Okay."

"Okay."

But as everyone glanced at the monitor Kougami smirked while Kyuji and Gotoh stared wide-eyed as someone unexpected appeared and confronted the TOKYO members much to Toudou's dismayed reaction.

The ones who appeared before the TOKYO members are shown, and revealed to be:

- Doctor Maki

- Vermouth

- Akako Koizumi

- Rose

There a member of TOKYO told his fellow conspirators that Maki approached him and is offering something to speed up the process and that they would help in repelling the meddlers, which the TOKYO members are suspicious but wanting this situation wrapped up without risking this meeting getting exposed, they reluctantly accepted the offer.

Later that night, at the Kougami Foundation, Ran, Shiho and Professor Agasa came as per Kyuji's request, and there Kyuji told the three about the situation and that he and Ankh would be CAMPING here whilst Akasaka and Oishi would be staying here for SECURITY REASONS, and there Ran, Shiho and Professor Agasa nodded in acknowledgement that Kyuji and Ankh are set to undergo a dangerous mission to help Toudou out of a political conspiracy.

"…and that's what Ankh and I are going to do…"

"I see…"

"Oh dear…"

"But…what about Shinichi…? I mean…even though Ankhg is controlling Shinichi's body…"

"Don't worry. Ankh will protect Detective Kudo. And I'll see to it that nothing bad would happen. I promise."

"Okay…"

"Okay…"

"Okay…"

Meanwhile Akasaka and Oishi are worried that TOKYO would exploit Toudou, and the two even discussed the possibility that TOKYO has no intention of letting Natsumi go and even surmised that they might kill her anytime and would keep this from Toudou just to compel him to serve them without worrying about Toudou rebelling against them.

"Damn those politicians…"

"I can't believe that they'd go that far…"

"And even some of the military brass are on board…"

"And on top of that, they went far as kidnap Natsumi just to force Akira to kill us so that their conspiracy won't be exposed to the public…"

"Glad that Kougami is helping us…"

"We got no alternatives but we have to rely on him and his allies…"

"And hopefully they rescue Natsumi so that Akira would go against those damn politicians…"

"Yeah…"

At Kougami's office, Gotoh and Satonaka are bracing themselves as they have a feeling that TOKYO would pull something diabolical and a minute ago they were given some last-minute instructions from Kougami, and there Gotoh and Satonaka are ready to depart, though the former feels reluctant but the latter tells him this is an order from Kougami himself.

"Pull yourself together, Gotoh."

"But…"

"President Kougami said so."

"But leaving Hino and Ankh to deal with…"

"The president said that he already sorted this out, so have faith in him."

"…oh, fine…"

"Good."

"…"

A few hours later, the scene shifts at the Black Organization headquarters, where Gin and Vodka were talking to Vermouth, which the two men expressed mixed feelings about her dealing with TOKYO, as they are worried that the TOKYO members might expose the organization to the government, but Vermouth puts their worries at ease as she told them that she told TOKYO that she is a FREELANCER for hire, and that Black Organization was not mentioned, hence Gin and Vodka has nothing to worry about.

"…so you boys better relax. I made it appear that I operate alone, hence Black Organization is not at risk…"

"Really…?"

"You sure…?"

"Yes, so calm down and stop acting like a pair of nervous wrecks…"

"Hmph. Fine."

"Okay "

"Good boys."

"…"

"…"

Meanwhile, Conankh is seen glancing at the computer monitor as he is READING the files on how the APTX 4869 drug is being made, and while Vodka is worried at what Conankh is doing, Vermouth smirked as she sensed that SOMETHING INTERESTING is taking place, though Gin asked if this is okay, and she optimistically said that this would benefit the Black Organization.

"Oh, I'd say it's a good thing."

"Are you sure, Vermouth? That bird boy of yours might become a liability to the organization…"

"And I promise that he won't."

"Are you certain?"

"Yes."

"Fine, but things go haywire…you'd answer to the Boss…"

"Of course."

"Fine."

Vermouth's subordinates, Port, Marsala, and Vinsanto, are staring at Conankh as they noticed the slow development happening to him, as before he was child-like in personality but now he seemed to be immersed in studying something and wondered: if Conankh began to develop a personality like a normal adult, would he be an asset to the Black Organization? Or would he be a liability if he let it get to his head?

"A few weeks ago that boy mentally acted like a toddler…but now…"

"Its like he's acting like an elementary student…like he's learning something…"

"This is worrisome…"

"What if he gains the mentality of an adult? Would that help the organization?"

"Huh?"

"What?"

"Think about it…"

"…"

"…"

Likewise, Korn, Chianti, Armagnac, and Cognac became somewhat wary towards Conankh despite seeing that he contributed to the organization yet they wondered if Vermouth could keep him in line in the long run and what would happen if Conankh reaches the point that Vermouth herself is unable to control the Greed.

"Korn…what would happen if that brat decided to turn against us…?"

"Chianti's got a point…"

"What if that brat turns out to be…"

"I say we let Vermouth handle it. She brought him here, and if he becomes THAT…then Vermouth would deal with him, and we have no hand on this."

"I see…"

"Right…"

"Okay."

"Then it's settled. Let Vermouth deal with it."

On the other hand, Bourbon, Scotch, and Tennessee Whiskey appeared to be calm enough and doesn't seem to be concerned about Conankh possibly turning against the Black Organization seeing how Vermouth is able to keep him in line, though they wondered how he would fare himself against the other Greed given that Doctor Maki has Kazari by his side and Akako Koizumi has Mezeru.

"It seems that Vermouth has everything under control…"

"And that boy somewhat listens to her only, yet so far he hasn't shown any signs of turning against us .."

"Then I guess we shouldn't worry too much."

"For the time being we should observe that kid. Look at him…he's glancing at the files, like he's learning something…"

"Yeah…and unlike before, he doesn't act like a toddler…"

"You're right…"

"It looks like things are getting interesting…"

"Huh?"

"Seriously…?"

By then, Eau-De-Vie, Schnapps, and Obstwasser approached Korn and asked what should they do next as they too expressed wariness towards Conankh, though Korn said that all of this lies within Vermouth since she is the one who brought Conankh to the Black Organization in the first place, hence she would be the one who should deal with him in the event he goes rogue.

Eau-De-Vie, Schnapps, and Obstwasser reluctantly nodded in agreement seeing that Korn has a point, thus it would be best to let Vermouth sort this out if ever Conankh turn against the Black Organization.

"So you guys calm down and not show any hostility towards the kid."

"Okay."

"Okay"

"Okay"

"In the event that the kid started to act strange let Vermouth deal with him."

"Okay."

"Okay"

"Okay"

Hope you liked this chapter of the current story arc, as Akira Toudou remains in a bind as TOKYO continue to use Natsumi as a bargaining chip to keep him in line and to use him to commit an assassination attempt…while the Detective Conan crew are planning a rescue attempt to save Natsumi and free Toudou from coercion.

Meanwhile something is brewing as Conankh exhibited a strange behavior which sent the Black Organization members in a panicking frenzy though Korn and Bourbon's group were calm enough to keep their subordinates from panicking…
