Chapter 49: Spatial Mage Brothers

In the Central Tower...

"Langris!" Finral cut in-between Ratri's spatial spell and Finesse.

"Who the hell are you?" Ratri demanded.

"I'm your older brother." Finral retorted.

"Stop trying to act cool Finral." Yami rebuked.

"What are the others doing?" Ratri growled.

"We took care of all the other shiny guys." Yami informed.

"Looks like you made a mistake in overestimating your strength and splitting up your forces, elf." Jack mocked.

"You expect me to believe you?" Ratri mocked. "Care to explain how you two were able to beat them?"

"Now, why won't want to know?" Rhiannon smirked, Yami and Jack dashing forward and Finral readied his portals to get the two Captains close to Ratri.

Ratri merely grinned, his own spatial magic cutting off Yami's cigarette and Jack's blade. "I'm sorry. My magic seems to automatically attack anyone who tries to attack me right now. At least entertain me a little, humans."

"Father, Finesse, leave this to us and run." Finral warned. "It doesn't matter if I'm just the Black Bulls' transport, or if he is the Vice Captain of the Golden Dawn. Right now, the only reason I'm fighting is because I'm his older brother."

"The battlefield is no place for civilians." Rhiannon stated. "Captain Yami, please see them out."

"You heard our hime-sama." Yami tossed Ledior and Liliane into Finral's portal.

"Why didn't you let me escape first?" Augustus fumed. "Honestly, you're all useless." he was about to step into Finral's newly created portal when the portal was shut off.

"Hang on now." Ratri chided. "I still have to cut you to pieces."

"Seems like this kid's definitely gonna be worth slashing apart." Jack grinned. "Slash Magic: Death Scythe: Lunatic Slash." he let loose a chaotic flurry of flying slashes at the wall, causing Augustus to fall off.

"Jack!" Rhiannon rebuked.

"You gouged my slashes." Jack chortled. "Nice, very nice."

He can only see the enemy, huh? Rhiannon face-palmed.

"You still think you have a chance against me?" Ratri mocked. "Know your place, humans. If any of these hit you, you'd be dead instantly." he powered up his 'Archangel Shootdown'.

"Fallen Angel Flapping." Finral cast his spell at the same time.

"Dark Magic: Black Hole." Yami absorbed the incoming spatial spheres.

"Reinforcement Magic: Leg Strength Boost." Jack used the reinforcement spell to increase his dodging ability.

"Crystal Wall." with a sweep of her hand, Rhiannon conjured an invisible wall in front of herself.

"Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Avidya Slash." Yami's attack missed the grinning Ratri, the Dark Magic user dropping onto another one of Finral's portals to dodge the countering attack.

"What?" Ratri was shocked to see Jack slice through one of his spatial spheres.

"Slash Magic: Death Scythe." Jack released his attack.

"Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Dimension Slash." Yami also unleashed his attack at the same time.

Overcoming his shock at his defenses being torn apart, Ratri sent Jack through the wall with a bombardment of his 'Archangel Shootdown'. A second rain of 'Archangel Shootdown' sent Yami down the tower. "You can't defend or even attack with your spatial magic." he mocked Finral.

"Fallen Angel Flapping." Finral brought Yami and Jack back into the fight. "I'll save you along with my friends."

"Too bad, human." Ratri grinned. "I'm just a little bit faster. You're all just going to die at once."

"Dark Magic: Dark Cloaked Avidya Blunt Strike." Yami knocked Ratri out, taking advantage of his momental distraction of Jack's cut on his cheek.

"You are just humans." Ratri growled. "How dare you do this to me? You petty, dirty, ugly humans..." he let his magic rampage. "Disappear."

"Now he's really lost his mind." Jack snorted.

"What the hell are we supposed to do with this?" Yami scowled.

"It's all over." Finral declared. "When he's that far gone, there's no way hell noticed my puny magic."

"Then go." Rhiannon gave the older Vaude sibling the go-ahead. "Before he turns into a Dark Elf."

"Yes, madam." Finral nodded, sending a 'Fallen Angel Flapping' particle through a portal and into Ratri's body. He then teleported himself in front of his younger half-brother. "Come here, Langris!" he slammed a punch across Langris' cheek, transporting himself into Langri's inner world. "For the talented younger brother, you sure are a handful. Honestly..." he reached out a hand to a fetal Langris. "I'm pretty weak, so I'm sorry I took so long. Langris,"

A tearing Langris reached out and took his older brother's hand.

"I'm gonna bet that there are a bunch of tough guys in there." Yami looked up at the incoming elf hideout. "I wonder where the rest of my dumbasses and the other Magic Knights are doing. I'm gonna flatten the elves myself if they don't get here soon."

"Nah, I'm gonna slash them first." Jack refuted.
