Chapter 28: Bad Blood

"Steel Creation Magic: Steel Castle's Armored Wall!" Klaus fended off Francis' water jet, only to get flanked by said water user who shot off another water beam at the crystal behind him.

Luck jumped in with his 'Thunder God's Boots' activated, electrocuting Francis and saving their crystal. "Lightning Magic: Thunderclap Crumbling Orb!" he then fired off a rain of lightning spheres at their opponent's crystal.

"Steel Magic: Blazing Spiral Lance!" Klaus' steel drill punched through Winston's spiked rock. "Here he comes." he sensed the outflow of wind. "Rob Vitesse. He's left the crystal behind him. We'll burst through our three opponents and destroy the crystal in a single rush."

"You two are pretty good." Puli grinned. Grabbing their crystal, she took to the air. "Wing Magic: Angel Flapping!" she let loose a torrent of feathers at Francis and Winston. "That's an attack for the enemy..."

"Go, Luck." Klaus launched Luck forward on his 'Steel Castle's Armored Wall'.

"And a tailwind for my allies." Puli added.

"In the end, it's individual power differences that separate victory and defeat." Rob placed himself firmly in front of their crystal.

His offensive ability boosted by his still active 'Thunder God's Boots', Luck slammed a kick into the wind user's stomach and destroyed the opposing team's crystal in the process.

"The crystal has been destroyed." the referee announced. "Team K wins. Next up, the eighth and final round of stage one. Team O and Team P, step forward. We will now begin the eighth round of stage one. Team O: Sandler, Dimitri, and Solid versus Team P: En, Noelle and Yuno. Begin."

"I'll attack." Yuno told his teammates. "You two support me. This fast?" he frowned.

"This is an annoying way to do it, but it's a shortcut with a simplified version of that compound magic from before." Solid, Sandler and Dimitri went on the assault, all three mages were on Solid's water eagle, it's speed argumented by Dimitri's fire boosters. "We'll end this instantly."

"They haven't moved their crystal." Yuno realized. "This isn't good. They closed the distance to our crystal in one sprint. Wind Magic: Crescent Kamaitachi." he split the opposing team from their ride.

"Fire Magic: Combo Eruption!" Dimitri went on the attack.

"Water Creation Magic: Sea Dragon's Nest!" Noelle shielded her team and their crystal.

"Look at you, learning a defense spell." Solid mocked.

"Sand Magic: Crushing Sand Clod!" Sandler took out the water barrier.

"At this rate, we'll spend the whole match on the defensive." Yuno grabbed Noelle and headed to their opponent's crystal via his 'Heavenly Wind Ark', with their crystal in tow. "I'm probably the fastest on this team. I'll take advantage of that and go destroy their crystal. While I'm doing that, you two somehow protect our crystal."

"Wait." Noelle voiced. "Let me go. Please."

"None of you will be going." Sandler swore, trapping them in his 'Sandbox' spell, only to have Yuno cut through the sand construct.

"Hold it right there, Noelle." Solid caught up with his younger sister.

"Don't go off on your own." Sandler barked.

"I'll be your opponent." Yuno faced off against his Squad mate.

"You're saying you're going to guard the crystal while dealing with me?" Sandler snarled. "That attitude is sheer insolence." he roared, summoning his 'Sand-Armored Dreadnought Guard'.

"Please come at me with everything you've got." Yuno accepted the challenge.

"Don't get full of yourself just because you lucked into getting spirit magic." Sandler snapped.

"You can't keep defending, Noelle." Solid mocked, bombarding Noelle's 'Sea Dragon's Cradle' with his multiple 'Holy Water Assassination Bullets'.

"What are you doing?" Dimitri belated, catching up with the siblings on his firefly construct. "You're ruining our strategy. Both of us are supposed to hit the crystal together."

"Shut up." Solid retorted. "Don't boss me around."

"Heya." an enlarged 'Talking Mr. Mushroom' appeared on Dimitri's shoulder, sending the fire user to the ground under its weight.

"Fungus Magic: Running Mr. Mushroom." En was on a 'Running Mr. Mushroom', catching up to Noelle from the ground. "I put some spores on you a little earlier. I won't let you get in Noelle's way."

"Too bad, Noelle." Solid landed in front of his team's crystal. "Now that I've caught up with you, you don't have a chance in hell of scratching our crystal."

"I wouldn't be too sure about that." En popped a 'Talking Mr. Mushroom' on Noelle's shoulder. "More importantly, big brothers exist to protect the younger and weaker siblings born before them. And yet you only said hurtful things to her. Get him Noelle. Trash your brother. Don't just give him an ordinary trashing. Make sure he never defies you ever again."

"Who's going to trash whom, now?" Solid snarled. "There's no way a failure like you could beat me." he let his barrage of 'Death Dealing Sea Serpents' loose.

"That's right." Noelle admitted. "I was weak. You've always been strong, so you probably can't understand how weak people feel. At this point, I don't care if you acknowledge me or not. Because even greater people have acknowledged me. I used to be really scared of your magic, Solid-nii-sama. But now, it feels really flimsy."

"Just keep running your mouth, you embarrassment to the Houses of Silva." Solid snapped. "Water Creation Magic: Death Dealing Sea Serpent." he summoned an even larger water serpent.

"How much more do you intend to insult me?" Sandler roared. "Sand Creation Magic: Sand-Armored Dreadnought Guard! This spell contains all the attack and defense power that I have. You think you can stop it without your spirit magic? I'm the one who will make Vangeance-sama's dream come true."

"Wind Magic: Towering Tornado!" Yuno took out the sand giant from the inside. "I don't know anything about other people's dreams. The only dreams I see are my own."

"Solid-nii-sama, it's all right if I hit you, right?" Noelle had also summoned her 'Sea Dragon's Roar' construct.

"Just go ahead and try." Solid barked. "You complete failure."

"Sea Dragon's Roar!" Noelle released her attack, totally destroying Solid's water serpent and Team O's crystal.

"The crystal has been destroyed." the referee declared. "Team P wins."
