Chapter Ten: A Lone Stand
Janja and his hyenas crouched low, inching closer to the unsuspecting herd of gazelles. The leader of the hyenas licked his chops, anticipation gleaming in his eyes.
Janja: "Alright, boys, I'm feeling like gazelles for lunch!" He whispered, ready to strike.
But before they could pounce, a familiar voice rang out.
Bunga: "Not so fast, Janja!" He called out.
Bunga appeared, standing defiantly between the hyenas and the gazelles. His sudden appearance startled the herd, causing them to scatter and escape into the distance.
Bunga: "You're not going to hurt any gazelles today!" He declared, his voice filled with determination.
Janja: *snarls* "Oh really, and how are you going to stop us all alone?" He snarled in annoyance.
Bunga: "I'll do what I have to do!" He stood his ground, his resolve unwavering.
Janja: "Hehehe. Very well. Get him, boys!" He chuckled darkly.
With a growl, the hyenas charged at Bunga. He fought them off valiantly, using all his speed and agility, but he was quickly outnumbered. Despite his best efforts, Bunga was struggling to keep them at bay.
Meanwhile, back at the Lion Guard lair, Kion and the rest of the Guard returned from their patrol. Kion immediately noticed something was off.
Kion: "Wait, where is Bunga?" Kion asked, concern creeping into his voice.
Fuli: "Why should we care? Bunga lied to me and to us!" She huffed, still upset from earlier.
Kion: "But he's still part of our team. Ono, go look for Bunga." He frowned.
Ono: "Affirmative." He nodded.
He took to the skies, using his keen sight to search for their missing friend. It didn't take long before he spotted something alarming.
Ono: "Hapana! You guys, Bunga's fighting Janja and his clan all alone!" He reported, his voice laced with urgency.
Kion: "Then we better go help him!" His eyes widened in alarm.
Fuli looked away, still hurt by Bunga's deception.
Beshte: "Fuli, I know you're still upset, but we have to go help Bunga. He's our friend." He spoke gently, sensing her reluctance.
Bongo, understanding the situation, tugged at Fuli's tail, his eyes pleading with her to help. Fuli sighed deeply, realizing they were right.
Fuli: *sighs deeply* "Okay, let's go help him." She agreed, her voice softening.
Bongo quickly climbed onto Fuli's back, ready to join the mission.
Kion: "Alright, Lion Guard, Till the Pride Lands' end!" He nodded, his resolve firm.
Fuli, Ono, and Beshte: "Lion Guard defend!" They shouted in unison
With that, they raced off, determined to reach Bunga before it was too late.
