AN: Hello everyone. Welcome to another crossover of one of the big three of the shonen genre, 'Bleach', whose characters, this time, will meet one of the most popular sagas of the anime world, namely, 'The Legend of Korra'.
'Bleach' is set after the fullbringer arc.
'The Legend of Korra' is set after 'Ruins of the Empire'.
I don't own anything.
Karakura City.
A quiet city where nothing out of the ordinary happens.
At least, that's what it seems at first glance.
Since time immemorial, when people die, people say that they go to the other side, to the eternal paradise.
And that is true, but those who can't go there are stranded in the human world as spirits and only very few people are able to see them.
While some spirits appear to be harmless, there are others who, for various reasons, end up becoming monstrous soul-devouring beings known as hollows.
No human is able to defeat them easily because, like the spirits, very few people can see them.
However, there is a force dedicated to taking care of these monsters and making sure that spirits who are stranded in the human world can go to the afterlife.
This is the Soul Society, a society made up of shinigami, skilled warriors who, in addition to protecting the afterlife, are in charge of guarding the human world to prevent hollows from doing harm and spirits from being able to go to the other side.
Unfortunately, we aren't going to focus on that place, but on the city of Karakura precisely that was under the blanket of a starry night with a full moon, specifically, in a particular house where Ichigo Kurosaki, the substitute shinigami, is located.
At first, he was just a human who could see spirits, but after an encounter with a hollow and a shinigami, he eventually awakened a power he didn't know he could have and used that power to face fearsome enemies in order to protect those he cared about.
At the time, Ichigo was sleeping peacefully in his room.
Suddenly, his eyes snapped open when he felt something.
The next instant, he sat up in his bed, just as his door swiftly opened.
"Ichigo, did you feel it?" asked Rukia.
Rukia was the shinigami that Ichigo met and because of which, he ended up involved in everything that happened to him.
When they met, she was a shinigami soldier of the 13th division, but after certain unexplained events, she became the vice-captain of her division.
The reason she was there was because her captain allowed her to take a couple of days off due to the fact that she had been working too long.
At first, she wanted to refuse, of course, but her captain's insistence made her agree to it, so she returned to the human world to spend that vacation time with Ichigo, since they were familiar with living under the same roof.
"Like as not." said Ichigo getting up.
"Ugh. What's all the fuss? Can't a stuffed animal just take a nap?" asked Kon rubbing his eyes from sleep.
Kon was a modified soul that accidentally ended up in Ichigo's hands and when the situation called for, he would have him take care of his human body while he was busy with his spiritual duties.
Before the plushie could say anything else, Ichigo grabbed him and made the modified soul pill from his body pass into him, causing his spirit, shinigami attire and zanpakuto to be expelled from his body.
"Kon, you stay here and keep watch. We'll take care of it." said Ichigo.
"Huh? Whatever you say. Just let me get some sleep." said Kon sleepily before plopping down on Ichigo's bed to continue sleeping.
Rukia did the same as she took a pill that took her out of her gigai, a sort of human doll that shinigami create and use to be able to walk among the living like normal people.
Once the two were ready, they left the room and started flying in a particular direction.
Later in the evening, the two arrived in a residential area, where everything seemed to be calm.
"What do you think this is about?" asked Ichigo.
"I don't know but be alert. We don't know what…" began Rukia before, suddenly, some kind of hole opened up in front of them. "A garganta?" asked Rukia in surprise as she saw the portal that the hollows and arrancar use to travel between worlds. "Where did it come from?"
It was then that several hollows came out of the hole.
"We'll find out after we take care of them." said Ichigo preparing Zangetsu to fight while Rukia prepared Sode no Shirayuki before launching herself to fight them.
A hollow lunged towards Ichigo, but he, with a single slash, split it in half.
Another hollow almost hit him, but Ichigo used shunpo to dodge it and appear elsewhere and then launched a slash that finished the hollow.
Several hollows quickly surrounded him to try to overtake him, but then, Ichigo made a fast turn, throwing a cutting wave that finished all the hollows.
Rukia used shunpo to move quickly from side to side and dodge the attacks of the incoming hollows and each time she did so, she gave the attacking hollow a deep cut, which caused it to eliminate several in a short time.
Unfortunately, even though, with their combined forces, they finished off several hollows, more of them came out of the throat like water from an open faucet.
Ichigo had just killed two hollows with a single slash when then, a large one tried to devour him in one bite, but before anyone could do anything.
"Santen Kesshun!"
Suddenly, a huge orange triangular shield appeared between Ichigo and the hollow, whose bite attack was completely blocked.
Seeing that, Ichigo turned his gaze to a rooftop, where he saw his dear friend, Orihime.
"Thank you, Orihime." said Ichigo with a smile.
"You're welcome." said Orihime with a smile.
Orihime undid the shield and Ichigo prepared to finish off the giant hollow when then, several energy arrows slammed into its side, killing it in the process.
"Hey, Uryu, that was mine." said Ichigo looking to the side to see the quincy.
"Be quicker next time." said Uryu with his bow ready for a fight.
Rukia stabbed a hollow in the head that disintegrated shortly after, only to see several hollows in front of her.
She was about to activate the shikai of her zanpakuto when…
"El Directo!"
A beam of energy shot out from the side, taking out all the hollows quickly.
Glancing to the side, Rukia discovered that the attack came from Chad, whose right arm was transformed and his fist smoking.
"Thanks for the help." said Rukia, receiving a nod from the fullbringer.
With everyone reunited, things were looking up for their side, as they were taking out hollows at a faster rate than before.
With Ichigo and Rukia cutting them with their swords, Orihime blocking and cutting them with her fairies, Uryu shooting arrows at them and Chad destroying them with his fists.
Before long, the hollows coming out of the throat were fewer and fewer than before.
"Keep it up, guys. There don't seem to be many lefts." said Ichigo.
It was then that the orange-haired girl noticed something that made her eyes widen in horror.
"Ichigo, watch out!" shouted Orihime.
Despite not knowing what she was referring to, Ichigo instinctively turned around and raised his zanpakuto just in time to block a red energy beam that pushed him backwards in the air until the attack was undone.
"That was… a Cero?" asked Ichigo recognizing the basic attack of the hollows, vizard and…
"Well, well, well. You managed to block it. Impressive."
Everyone turned their gaze to the source of the voice to see a Caucasian-skinned man with a stubble of a beard, hairy arms, a white hakama, a sleeveless shirt, a sword at his waist and, above all, a bony plaque on his forehead, similar to a three-pointed frontal ridge.
"I see the rumors weren't lying." said the man.
"An arrancar?" asked Uryu recognizing the evolved form of the hollows.
"What is one doing in the world of humans?" asked Rukia.
"My business doesn't concern you; you must only know that you are in my way. So, I will eliminate you all, starting…" began the arrancar before pointing at the substitute shinigami. "For you."
In less than a second, the arrancar appeared in front of Ichigo with his sword drawn and proceeded to attack him, but Ichigo blocked his attack quickly and the clash generated a wave of wind due to the force put in.
"Ichigo!" exclaimed Orihime with concern.
"Let's go!" said Rukia trying to go fight the arrancar along with the others, but several hollows got in their way.
"Looks like they have no intention of letting us go." said Chad.
"He probably ordered them to annihilate us while he takes care of Ichigo." began Uryu preparing to shoot despite having no arrow. "In that case, we'd better not waste time."
Ichigo and the arrancar got into a sword duel, and both were in a stalemate, as every attack they launched was blocked or dodged.
After another clash of swords, they pushed each other.
"What do you want?" asked Ichigo.
"That's none of your business. You should be more concerned about your life." said the arrancar.
"You must have been sleeping under a rock all this time. In case you haven't heard, I took on several espada, including Aizen, and defeated them all." said Ichigo.
"Oh, of course I know all that, but I want you to know that I'm very different from those espada you faced." said the arrancar before stretching his hand towards him, quickly shooting a red energy beam.
Ichigo acted quickly and, with a vertical slash, split the beam in half.
After that, Ichigo used shunpo to appear in front of the arrancar and hit him with his sword, but the arrancar used sonido to quickly dodge it and get behind Ichigo to slash him, but the substitute shinigami reacted in time and quickly turned around to block the attack with Zangetsu.
It was then that the two began to use their speed techniques to move from one place to another so fast that they seemed to teleport from one place to another.
Every time they tried to attack each other, they either dodged the attack with their speed or blocked it with their swords.
"You're very fast, but let's see if you can dodge this." began the arrancar before performing a horizontal slash with his sword, leaving a wave of red energy in the air. "Cometa Cero!" shouted the arrancar, causing, from the wave, several spheres of red energy to shoot out, quickly heading towards Ichigo.
At first, he was surprised by that kind of attack, but then he pulled himself together and began to quickly dodge the incoming spheres.
However, after dodging them all, he realized that they continued their path, that being the houses below.
"Getsuga Tenshou!" shouted Ichigo launching, from a swing of his sword, a wave of energy that hit all the spheres, causing them to explode before they could get any closer.
Before Ichigo could react, the arrancar appeared at his side and gave him a powerful kick that sent him to the ground, leaving a small furrow in his drag on the ground.
"You may be the most powerful, but that desire to defend the weak is your weakness. If you would put them aside, you could become much stronger." said the arrancar with a cocky grin.
With a small groan, Ichigo stood up then looked at the arrancar with a frown.
"Even though it may be true, that's something I'll never do." said Ichigo with determination.
"Really? In that case, drop dead." began the arrancar before performing, from a horizontal slash, a wave of red energy. "Cometa Cero!" shouted the arrancar causing, from the wave, several spheres of red energy to shoot out and fly towards Ichigo and everything around him.
"Getsuga Tenshou!" shouted Ichigo launching, with a Zangetsu move, a wave of energy that hit all the spheres, causing them to explode in the process and leaving a curtain of smoke.
The arrancar was about to launch another similar attack, but Ichigo suddenly appeared behind him and before he could react, gave him a side kick that sent him flying to the side.
"You think you can defeat me? You have no idea who I am." said the arrancar.
"Do you see that matters to me?" asked Ichigo before lunging towards him with his sword at the ready.
At that moment, the arrancar extended towards him its fist that glowed with red energy.
From the fist a red energy bullet was shot which Ichigo dodged, but the arrancar was shooting bullets as if it was a gun.
Unfortunately for him, Ichigo was quickly dodging the bullets as it was rapidly advancing towards him.
Just when he was a couple of meters close to him.
"At this distance, you won't be able to dodge it!" began the arrancar before forming, with a swing of his sword, a wave of red energy. "Cometa Cero!" shouted the arrancar causing, from the wave, several energy spheres to shoot out, but instantly following…
"Getsuga Tenshou!" shouted Ichigo quickly launching, with a Zangetsu move, a wave of energy that hit the attack immediately, causing a loud explosion that sent them backwards.
"Very well. If that's how you want to play it, then I'll raise the level." said the arrancar before doing something that made the pressure of the atmosphere feel heavier.
Needless to say, everyone felt it and was horrified.
"Where did that reiryoku surge come from?" asked Uryu.
"Impossible. I haven't felt something like that since…" began Rukia in horror.
"You… Who the hell are you?" asked Ichigo in shock.
"Since you've forced me to increase my power, I'll tell you. My name is Draco, and I am a privaron espada. Former 1st espada." said the arrancar introducing himself with a cocky toothy grin.
Ichigo was completely surprised, as he thought he was an arrancar like any other, but he turned out to be a privaron espada, an espada who was stripped of his title and the worst part was that he held the position of the number 1.
He may not have faced the 1st espada, but his confrontation with Ulquiorra, the 4th espada showed him how strong superior espada can be.
True, he was a privaron espada, but that didn't mean he was weaker than the others.
"Now that you know who I am, I won't let you live anymore." said Draco before using sonido to appear in front of the substitute shinigami with his sword raised.
Ichigo used Zangetsu as a shield, but the privaron espada was pushing him far back until Ichigo gathered enough strength to push him back.
"I don't care who you are. I won't let you hurt anyone." said Ichigo.
"I dare you to try to stop me." said Draco arrogantly.
In less than a second, Ichigo used shunpo to appear before him and the two got into another sword duel that, like the previous one, remained in a stalemate.
Suddenly, during the duel, Ichigo saw his chance and performed a powerful vertical slash upward.
Draco managed to pull back in time, but the cut managed to reach his shirt, causing it to open, allowing to see, both his hollow hole and his ranking number which was 101.
Draco intended to attack again, but then, he saw Rukia, Chad, Uryu and Orihime positioning themselves around him, a sign that they had finished off all the hollows they had brought.
"You sure took your time." said Ichigo.
"They were more than we imagined, but now we're here and we'll help you fight him." said Rukia.
"That's right. This isn't your battle, it's everyone's." said Orihime.
At first, Draco thought he could take Ichigo on his own, but he had to admit he didn't stand a chance against the substitute shinigami, a vice-captain, a quincy, a fullbringer and a girl with the power to heal and resurrect.
"Tsk. What a drag." began Draco before opening a garganta behind him. "As much as it pains me, I will have to retreat, but I assure you I will be back and that is when I will be done with you." said Draco turning around to retreat.
"You're not going anywhere! Getsuga Tenshou!" shouted Ichigo throwing from his sword a wave of energy.
Draco could feel it coming and dodged to the side to avoid it.
However, the attack impacted full in the garganta, causing him to shake and shake as if in waves.
"You fool! Do you realize what you've done?" asked Draco.
"I never thought I would say this, but I agree with what he said." commented Uryu.
Suddenly, the garganta began to suck in around him with a black hole.
Due to how close it was and his surprise, Draco couldn't react in time and ended up being sucked into his own throat.
"Everybody back!" exclaimed Rukia.
Quickly, everyone fled from the place affected by the absorbing force of the throat.
However, just as Ichigo, who was one of the closest to the hole, was about to flee, the absorbing force increased tremendously, making it hard for him to try to move forward, like walking in the opposite direction of a fierce wind.
With a grunt of effort, he tried to escape from there, but in the end, the absorbing force of the gorge increased so much that he ended up losing his concentration and ended up being pulled into the gorge.
"Ichigo!" shouted Orihime and Rukia.
Ichigo stretched out his arm, trying to reach for something, but was unable to do so and ended up being engulfed by the garganta, which closed shortly after.
"ICHIGO!" shouted Orihime in horror.
"Hurry! Let's go see Kisuke!" said Rukia.
"Good idea. Maybe he knows where it has taken him." said Chad.
Wasting no time, they all set off to see the former captain of the 12th division, hoping he could help them find their friend.
As they ran along, Orihime didn't stop being worried about him.
"Ichigo, I hope that, wherever you end up, you're okay." thought Orihime.
