A/N Willow and Xander were locked into the room and Willow couldn't open the door from the inside, so I'm assuming it was locked from the outside. We never see how Oz and Cordelia get the door open itself, but if it's locked from the outside and they had no key, my thought is they'd have to pry it open somehow. We're just never shown how, so I'm guessing on the how.

Willow's scent dead ended at a heavy steal door. One that locked from the outside.
"Her scent ends here." Xander informed Faith. "Which means she's in there and we don't have a key. Are you strong enough to force it open?"
"I'm willing to try." Faith moved to the door and tried to get some kind of grip or leverage. "The gap isn't big enough for me to get my fingers into and the rest of the door is smooth, nothing to grip but the handle and I might be able to pull it off but this is a solid steel door. The handle will come off before I can pull it open."
"Than we need to find something we can work into the hinges, they're on the outside of the door, which means it opens towards us. If we can get the hinges off we can work something into the gap between the door and the frame. It's probably no thicker than an inch, if that. Once we get it pried away enough to get leverage on it the weak point should snap."
"The weak point?"
"The tongue of the locking mechanism. The door weighs a lot more than it does and if it snaps, open door."
"That makes sense, especially since the handle's plate is inset in the door and we can't pry that off and just take the lock apart. What can we use to do it though?"
"This used to be a factory, there's industrial machines still here. They're made of metal too. You pry a piece of that off and try using that."
"My turn to be useful in this rescue mission, huh? You've done all the work up 'til. I'm game to try." Faith agreed.
"I'll watch out for whoever the dead idiot was who thought taking Willow was a good idea. I want a word with them anyway." Faith shivered slightly, between the expressionless face, cold, hard voice and blazing eyes, X looked and sounded dangerous and Faith was grateful she wasn't the target of the rage he was controlling oh so carefully. If his control slipped...or he chose to use it, someone was going to be in pain. A lot of pain.
"How big do you think what I get should be?" Faith asked, eyeing the hinges.
"Something a couple of inches long and about as thick as your finger and something to hammer it with for the hinges." Xander answered. "Maybe a foot or so long and narrow enough to work in the gap between the door and the frame for that part. You're going to need to be very careful and slow on that, you could snap the tool itself while working it into the gap and use small movements to pry it away."
Faith nodded, that made sense too. She headed deeper into the factory looking for the machines Xander had mentioned and pried the panels off looking for parts that could do the job. She snapped a piece about the length and shape of her finger off and found a rock that fit into her hand and returned to the door, Xander keeping watch as she worked. It actually didn't take long to get the hinges undone and than they went looking for something they could use to get into the gap and found a mechanic's room with industrial shelves built into the walls. Faith pried it apart and the two examined the side piece that connected one section to another.
"This might just do it." Xander decided. "But given your strength you could probably bend it fairly easily too, so just small, controlled moves and work it into the gap and small wrenching movements to work the door and frame separate." He reminded her.
"Got it." Faith nodded and the two made their way back to the door and Faith carefully worked the metal into the gap and mindful of her strength, began trying to separate the frame and door apart enough to get the piece behind the door and began moving it. It took time but eventually the door began to move towards them as Faith succeeded in getting the piece behind the door, followed by getting her fingers into the opening and applying Slayer strength to the door and the tongue of the locking mechanism couldn't handle the combination of solid steel door and Slayer strength and it gave.
"Faith, I smell dead guy." Xander murmured suddenly as she stiffened. "I'm sensing one myself." She told him.
"Finish getting into there and see if she's alright, if she is get her out of here."
Faith eyed Xander and considered the options. Was what he was smelling and she sensing two different problems? It Willow was dead, he could be smelling that though the gap she'd made. In which case, she didn't want to make him see another friend dead. But she was sensing a vamp and there hadn't been time for Willow to become one which meant one was in the factory with them, most likely the one that had taken Willow in the first place. Should she let Xander handle him? She was pretty sure he could, but what would it do to him to fight the vampire that kidnapped his friend?
Mind made up she turned back to the steel door. "Give him Hell, X." She told him and gripped the door and finished prying it open.
"I intend to." That cold, dangerous voice sent more shivers through her. 'Note to self, pissing off Xander Harris is a very bad idea.'
