Disclaimers: All Hazbin Hotel characters are owned by Vivienne Medrano and SpindleHorse Toons and are all copied without permission. I have made this story for fun and not profit.

Writer's Note: Ever since watching the series on Amazon Prime, I really wanted to try writing a story based on the franchise.. While I am sad that the series only has one season so far, I wanted to try and write a fanfic about the series.. This is my first ever story for Hazbin Hotel so a lot of the characters may be out of character and the plot may not make much sense, so please bare with me? (Rated for bloodshed, violence, dark themes, and cussing)

Prologue

The loud buzzing sound of the alarm echoed throughout the once quiet room, eliciting a soft groan from beneath the mound of blankets. Angel Dust rolled over in the bed, his eyes cracking open groggily as he looked at the clock. The bright neon red numbers 6:00am gleamed coldly back at him, the buzzing continuing to ring out uninterrupted. As much as Angel wanted the buzzing to stop, Angel knew he'd have to be the one to turn it off. Cursing under his breath, he forced himself to roll back over and push himself into a seated position.

Bruises and marks ran along his body, covering his back, shoulders, and arms. He was thankful that his choice of clothing could hide the majority of his marks. The last thing he wanted was the people of Hell to see the marks and start asking him questions about what had happened.. Most of all, Charlie would want to know everything about what and how they had appeared.

Angel shuddered.. He knew EXACTLY what happened the last time Charlie had gotten involved. He had to resort to the worst thing he could ever do in order to ensure she would be safe. It hurt him greatly.. But he had to do whatever he could to keep his friends safe.

It was then he remembered the buzzing was still going off and he turned to look at it, grabbing it in his hands and tightening his grip as if wanted to crush it. He heard a soft snort beside him and his head snapped to the side. Angel relaxed as he saw his little companion nuzzling his little head against his side.

"Hey, Nuggs.."

Angel gently pet the little piglet's head, earning a happy little oink from Fat Nuggets. Angel smiled softly at the sound.

"Good boy.."

Angel set the clock back down a bit roughly, finally turning the alarm off. He rose out of the bed, stretching out his sore limbs, wincing slightly as he felt them popping a bit. Angel sighed and made his way to the bathroom.

His head hung low as the water poured down on him, letting out a shaky breath as he subconsciously rubbed at a sore spot in his midsection. Angel clenched his eyes shut as memories of the recent incident with his boss flashed through his head.

Angel gasped as he felt a sharp pain jolt through his side. Glancing down, he noticed droplets of red landing on the floor of the shower. He lifted up a hand and noticed his fingers coated in red due to how hard he had been pressing into the bruise, his nails having accidentally cut into his skin.

"Sh*t.." he grunted, wincing a bit.

Angel grabbed a nearby rag and pressed it against the open cut. He hissed painfully through his teeth as he pressed the rag against the open wound. Angel sighed and turned the water off, keeping pressure on the wound as he stepped out of the shower. He glanced down at the rag and scowled as he took notice of the deep red staining the once white material.

"Just what I **cking need right now.." he growled.

Thinking quickly, Angel pressed the rag into the wound, letting out a hiss of pain as he wrapped a piece of discarded clothing around his midsection to hold the rag in place. He knew it wasn't sufficient but he was already running late and he couldn't disappoint his boss. Angel had learned firsthand what happened when he disappointed Val.. Valentino. Angel scowled at the very thought of him but soon shook it off as he got dressed.

As he left the room, Angel stopped as he took notice of a warm, sweet scent wafting through the air. He made his way down to the main floor, the smell growing stronger. When he entered the hotel kitchen, he noticed Alastor standing at the oven.

"Why hello there, my dear Angel." Alastor greeted, his signature smile never leaving his face.

"Hey.." Angel grunted, he took a seat at the table.

"Now, what's with the frown, my dear? You should smile. You're-"

"'Not fully dressed without one', yeah I get it." Angel replied a bit harsher than he meant to be.

Alastor stood where he was, staring at him for a moment before his smile returned at its usual strength.

"Now now, why the sour mood?" Alastor asked. "I only asked you a question."

Angel was about to respond when he heard the others entering the kitchen.

"Hey Alastor," Charlie greeted.

"Hello Charlie, I'm afraid that our dear Angel is in one of his unusually sour moods."

Angel glared at Alastor for a moment before he let out a breath.

"Oh well excuse ME for not constantly bein' all smiles like YOU are." Angel snipped back.

"Angel.. Is something bothering-"

"NO! . . . I.. I mean no." Angel said, looking away.

"Alright, there's something wrong with you right now." Vaggie stated, a skeptical look on her face.

Angel let out a sigh.

"Sorry guys.. I'm just kinda tired." Angel said, slumping in his seat.

Alastor poured himself a cup of steaming hot coffee, taking a large sip from his mug, causing Angel to stare at him.

"Al.. Seriously.. That coffee's gotta be boilin' hot."

"Ah yes. The hotter the coffee the better." Alastor stated.

"Dude.. That's literally hot enough to burn your lips off."

Alastor looked at him for a moment before he let out a casual hum and took another long sip. Charlie at the others stared at Alastor for a moment before Charlie turned to Angel and frowned as she noticed Angel had barely touched his food.

"Hey.. Everything okay?"

"Huh? O-oh yeah.. I just.. I need ta watch what I eat.."

Alastor glanced over at Angel and raised an eyebrow.

"You're not eating because you're worried about your weight, are you?"

"It's what I have to do." Angel said with a shrug. "It's part of my job.. Speaking of which, I gotta go."

Angel stood up, wincing a bit as he felt the familiar pain in his side. It didn't go unnoticed by Charlie and the others.

"Angel-?"

"I'm fine!" Angel said gruffly, cutting Charlie off.

"No, I don't think you are." Vaggie stated matter-of-factly.

"And what do YOU know?" Angel replied.

"I know enough that you're not acting yourself."

"Yeah, well.. You try workin' hours on end and no matter what ya do, you just-"

Angel suddenly snapped his mouth shut.

"You just what?" Vaggie asked.

"I.. Uh.."

"You just WHAT, Angel?"

"Nothin'.." Angel muttered turning away. "I gotta go."

Angel started to leave.

"Angel, what were you going to say?"

"I said it's NOTHING."

Angel punctuated his statement with the slam of the door as he left the hotel.

Stopping outside, he let out a shaky sigh and scrubbed at his face.

"J*sus Christ.. What the **ck is WRONG with me..?" Angel grunted. "It ain't THEIR fault.."

Angel let out another sigh and forced himself to stand up to his full height.

"I ain't got time for this.."

Not bothering to call for a ride, Angel began his way down the street toward the Vees Tower, he hoped Valentino wouldn't be too upset.

Author's Note: So firstly, I would like to apologize for not being on this site like I used to be.. I have been extremely busy with work especially now that the company I work for has sent multiple work-orders to the point where I hadn't been able to keep up with being on this site as much.. Secondly, this idea came to me shortly after watching the first few episodes of 'Hazbin Hotel' and I've been trying to think of a story to write that would make sense.. I know there's still more to know about and the characters may not be in character, to which I greatly apologize.. I'll do my best to do a better job with the story.. Hopefully I'll have the time to continue, if not, then.. I guess we'll just have to see what happens when we get to that point..
