Okay chapter 2 time

Irises POV
"Yes dear you can go if your feeling better" She says. "Be careful because you got hit very hard on your head." Hmmm maybe I won't be as careful as she asked but I say,"Of course I'll be careful! If you want I can come back tomorrow so you can look at it." "Yes, be sure to come back tomorrow around 2 PM." "Okay!" As I walk out the door I realize something. I have to go thank Peeta. Silly me. As I walk to the bakery (Avoiding all of the Stares) I need a place to sleep tonight. I promise myself that after this I will go into the woods and find a tree. When I walk into the bakery, everyone here starts staring at me. I walk up to the front where Peeta is working."Thank You" I tell him. "Anytime, just try not to get a concussion again." He jokes. "I have a few questions though, do you wanna meet up at the school later?" He asks. "Yeah, sure is 5:30 okay?" "Yep" "Alright see you then!" Time to go into the woods. But honestly why are people staring? Did they ever learn that it's rude? I walk to the butchers and enter the hole in the fence. Good thing I have my knives. If you come 20 feet in front of me and I don't like you, consider yourself dead. I could probably throw with accuracy about 35 feet, and the farthest I could throw is probably 50 feet. I think I would be a pretty good football player. I walk about 2 miles into the woods looking for a tree when I see her. Katniss Everdeen. Instead of walking over to her and saying hello like a normal person would do, I see her target and throw a knife before she can shoot. I hit the rabbit right in the eye. "Hello?" She asks. She probably doesn't see me. Her bow is loaded though. I climb up a tree quickly so it will be hard for her to hit me. Once I think Im high enough I say,"Hi!" She looks up. She looks confused. "Did you kill that rabbit?" "Yes" I respond. "Nice throw." She compliments. "Sorry about that" I say "That should have been your kill." She looks up at me and she says,"Don't be sorry, I'm sure you'll need that rabbit as much as me." I say," You have 2 family members including yourself I think you should have it. I'm only feeding myself." She looks confused," What do you mean only yourself? Don't you have parents or a parent or a guardian or something?" I simply shake my head in response. "You know I'm being completely honest with you right?" "I think its strange that I just met you and you trust me completely." "Well you know that I can defend myself." I answer. "You're right. How did you learn to throw like that? You must have 20 years of experience but you look only 12." She says. Well Katniss did you ever hear of war? Of course she did she's not stupid like me! I'll just say that from a young age I had to fend for myself."When I was little,my family had issues. I had to learn to protect myself. Now I'm out in the woods breaking the law and I'm not scared." "Okay that makes sense. Where did you grow up with your parents? In the seam or in town? You don't look like either." And thank you Katniss now I know why I got lots of stares! A girl with black hair and firery amber eyes doesn't look like she belongs in District 12. "Well my hair looks like the Seam but with some town waves,and my eyes are just my mom and dads genes mixed together. My mom was town and my dad was seam." I respond. "Oh I guess that makes sense" She replys. "Wanna hunt together?" I ask to change the topic. "Of course. I know your skilled and that you walk very quietly." Time flies and soon its 5ish. "Sorry I got to go I made plans with a friend." I say "You know if you want you can sleep over and we could go to the reaping tomorrow." She offers."Of course! I would love to!" I say," Is it okay if I come over at about 6:30?" "That would be perfect!"
At the school w/ Peeta*
"Hi! You said that you had questions? The least I could do is answer them because you saved my life." He laughs," Honestly I did nothing Prim and Mrs. Everdeen did it all." "Nope" I respond, " I think you carried me to their house and made sure that I was okay." "Fine Fine" He said while laughing, " I did do something but you're very light and it wasn't hard at all." "Anyway what were your questions?" "Okay so it seemed like you popped out of nowhere, and then you banged your head on a crate, then you passed out. What happened?" Great I just knew that he would ask about this. What's a good lie? I have one! "My friends and I were playing hide and seek at the train station. I thought that they couldn't find me so I jumped out of behind a crate and that was when I banged my head." "Oh so are you alright, what about your friends?" " We told each other that if we got hurt..." "HEY FIRE EYES" A boy screams! "Oh not them again" I mutter and stare at my feet. So you see before Peeta found me, I think that they came after me beat me up and banged my head on the crate because there were lots of bruises on me when Peeta found me. I think that that's the case because while hunting part of it came back to me. "What did they do to you?" He asks with concern in his eyes? "Nothing" I lie staring down at my feet. I think I said that a bit too quickly. "What's your name? I don't think you told me." "Iris." "Okay Iris what did they do to you?" Should I tell him? I think I should. "Yelled at me, called me names and beat me up." I say motioning to my bruises. "There mainly from when they..." "Iris what did they do?" "I didn't play hide and seek I just lied. They threw me against the crate. I didn't go down without a fight though look at them." He looks at the boys all bandaged and bruised. "I was trying to protect myself. They gave up and threw me against the crate." I tell Peeta," They looked about your age. They really need to grow up." He starts smiling and laughing "What's so funny?" "Iris, they are 2 years older than me. You are 6 years younger than them, and you fought them and you won by a lot. It was 4 against one. How are you bot laughing at them." I look up and start laughing laughing really really loud and then I scream to them "YOU JUST GOT YOUR BUTTS HANDED TO YOU BY A TWELVE YEAR OLD,AND YOUR EIGHTEEN YOU REALLY NEED TO GROW UP KIDS. IF YOU WANT WE CAN HAVE A REMATCH. YOU ALL FIGHT LIKE GIRLS." Peeta starts laughing too then screams,"IF YOU WANT WE CAN BOTH TAKE YOU ON. TWELVE YEAR OLD NINJA AND A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD WRESTLER!" I guess you don't want to mess with me and Peeta! "Thank you Peeta, I'm supposed to be repaying you for a favor and now you just helped me out again. Maybe after the reaping tomorrow I can answer your questions?" "You don't need too because you helped me out too. Those kids also bully me because their my brothers friends. So if anything, I should be the one thanking you." "Well I'll still answer your questions tomorrow." "Okay fine." "Bye Peeta see you tomorrow" I tell him "Bye Iris see you tomorrow" He responds
At the Everdeens (20 minutes before Iris arrives)*
Katnisses POV
Why did I invite that little girl? I guess I just couldn't stand to see her outside in the woods surrounded by danger. How will I tell my mom? How will I tell Prim? Surely she saw her before. I know that by the bandage on her head she was injured pretty badly. But her eyes. There were something off about them. I really don't believe that those were just genes mixed together. I've heard about those eyes and I feel like I've seen them before. Whatever. Right now I need to figure out how I'm going to tell Prim and Mom. "Prim, Mom, I need to tell you something." I say. "Yes what is it?" My mother asks. "I kind of invited someone over for tonight. Is it okay if they stay?" To my surprise she answers,"Of course! Who are they?" "A girl I met in the woods." "Okay." "She'll be here in 20 minutes." Prim asks," Do we know her?" "Yes, I think you saw her today." "Okay. Where's she going to sleep?" I haven't thought of that yet. "I'm sure she won't care. I said she could come because she said that she was going to sleep in the woods in a tree. She has no family and she doesn't want to get sent to the community home." "Really?" Prim asks "Really." I answer. Prim looks excited to have a sleepover with someone. "Lets all sleep on the floor." She says," Maybe we could build a fort out of blankets and chairs?" "Excellent idea little duck. Let's start now" After 15 minutes of building the fort, Iris walks through the door and looks surprised and excited.
Irises POV
When I finally make it to the Everdeens, I open the door and find that there's a fort. "Hi." I say. The girl Prim looks confused. "It's you from before?" She asks. "Yep that's me." She looks happy. "Your the friend Katniss was talking about!! Your my age! Wanna be best friends!" "Yes of course!" I tell her. "You, Katniss, and your mom have been really nice to me." I say. Katniss says to Prim and her mom," This is Iris and it seems that you have seen her before. I want to thank her for half of the rabbits and squirrels we got today." Prim's jaw drops. "Wait. So you can use a bow and arrows and hit animals right through the eye every time just like Katniss?" "Sort of. I can do it with throwing knives though." "That's so cool!" She exclaims. Then she yawns. Her mom says," It's been a long day for everyone. How about now we sleep?" We all agree and go into the fort. Prim whispers something in my ear as we are about to go to sleep,"Are you scared for tomorrow? I know that I really am. How many times is your name in?" What ever force sent me hear probably had that covered just like I have a reaping dress in my backpack. "I only have it once." I whisper back "Me too." She says still while whispering, "What are the odds that either of us will get chosen?" "Very low." I say in response. If only she knew that the odds weren't in her favor. Before I fall asleep, I promise myself that I will volunteer for her and I WILL come out. I really hope that me volunteering will make Peeta's name not get chosen. At last I fall asleep wondering about all of the awful situations that I could get myself into.
And that was chapter two! I think I will make all of the chapters this long .
