Peter wakes up with a groan and notices his vision was blurry so he takes off his glasses and sees clearly so he puts his glasses back on and goes back to blurry, he does this a couple more times before he sets his glasses down
"Peter are you ok? Are you alright to go to school?" Aunt May asks him
"Yea just some things changing." Peter tells her
"Alright come get some breakfast." Aunt May tells him
"This is normal right?" Peter mumbles to himself then shrugs and walks it off getting started and ready for the day and he comes down the steps
"Whoa kid, you better slow down what's got you all excited, also no glasses?" Uncle Ben asks
"Just gonna go to a classmates house after school and I don't know what happened but I woke up and all of a sudden I could see clearly, it's a miracle I guess." Peter laughs and uncle Ben shakes his head
"Alright well anyway Pete, get in the car and I'll take you to school." Uncle Ben tells him and Peter quickly eats some breakfast, eating a little more than he usually does which May notices
"Hungry this morning?" Aunt May asks with a small grin and Peter blushes
"Sorry Aunt May." Peter tells her and she shakes her head
"It's fine. I'm glad you've maybe finally decided to actually eat instead of being so picky." Aunt May gripes slightly with her grin
"Alright Pete let's get going." Uncle Ben tells him
"Alright. By Aunt May." Peter says and they walk out of the house
"Bye Peter and please pick up a gallon of milk from the gas station on your way home." Aunt May waves goodbye and Peter was off with uncle Ben
The car ride went by fast as Uncle Ben stops in front of the school
"Thanks for dropping me off Uncle Ben." Peter tells him getting out of the car
"Remember Peter with great- oh I'll just tell him next time." Uncle Ben says with a chuckle before driving off
As it cuts back to Peter, he hears foot steps as he looks down the hall
"Sup Pete." Harry yells out walking up to him with Ned as Peter looks at them and he squints his eyes wondering how he noticed them before either one spoke up with everyone else in the hallway
"Hey guys, you ready for class?" Peter asks
"Never am but should be a pretty easy day in biology, especially you being partnered up with Gwen." Ned smirks lightly slugging Peter's arm making him laugh
"It is pretty cool but I'm sure it's not gonna lead anywhere." Peter says as Ned shakes his head and Harry scoffs
"Yea, sure it won't... we're rooting for you though Pete." Harry says as they walk toward they're biology class
"So you guys pay attention to Stark Tech? They just released a new phone on their more tech side of things." Peter asks them
"Yea it looks like a pretty good phone." Ned replies
"I'm probably gonna get one here soon." Harry says and Peter grins
"Your dad gonna say anything about it?" Peter asks amused and Harry laughs a little bit
"The old man ain't gonna have payed enough attention for that even I'd say." Harry tells his friends
Peter then sees Gwen and she smiles at Peter
"Hey Peter, how're you today?" Gwen asks him
"I'm pretty good how're you?" Peter asks back
"I'm pretty good, I did some research on spiders, did you know that most can lift at least 50 times their body weight, some even over 170 times?" Gwen asks him and Peter gets a vision of spider webs that are super thick in blue and red making him shake his head to get his train of thought back
"No I didn't actually." Peter says and Gwen looks at him closely
"Your not wearing your glasses?" Gwen asks him and Peter shakes his head
"It's weird, I woke up this morning and I could see clearly, I'm not sure how else to explain it." He tells her as they walk into biology together as it cuts back to Harry glancing at Ned unimpressed
"My point exactly." He tells his friend as Ned just shrugs
"I'm surprised he's gotten this far to be honest." Ned tells him
"So Peter what do you wanna make the main part of our assignment about?" Gwen asks him and he looks at her
"I think the amount of weight they can carry compared to their body weight like you told me is pretty cool." Peter tells her and she nods
"Alright, we can do that then." She tells him as Peter goes to pick up a pencil but it sticks to the palm of his hand and Gwen looks at him curiously
"How're you doing that?" She asks him and he shakes his head
"I don't know." Peter tells her truthfully before looking around making sure no one is listening
"Ok so don't freak out but I think I know how I'm doing it, I really wasn't planning on telling anyone but it might help telling someone I li- think is smart." Peter tells her and she looks at him
"Alright lay it on me." Gwen tells him preparing for whatever it is he has to say
"So yesterday at Oscorp I kinda got bitten by a radioactive spider." Peter tells her hoping she doesn't freak out
"You don't feel sick or anything?" she asks quietly back and Peter shakes his head no
"It must be the reason why you can see without your glasses, do you wanna go to the abandoned closed in bridge after school and test stuff out." Gwen asks seemingly shyly and Peter smiles softly
"I'd appreciate it." He tells her and they both grin as the scene skips to the final bell as Gwen waits for him at the doors
"Hey Peter you ready to go?" She asks him as Ned and Harry grin at him and push him towards her
"Yea I am, I guess you know where to go?" Peter asks her and she smiles and nods before pulling out skates putting them on and she points to his skate board
"Race you there." She tells him getting started and Peter smiles jumping on his skate board catching up with her as they race towards the old bridge as Gwen slips and Peter reacts quickly jumping off his skate board and catching her as she laughs
"Good catch, I don't see how you caught me that fast unless..." she trails off and goes to slap him slightly where he wasn't looking but he quickly dodged it
"Yea it's like I have an extra sense or something." Peter tells her
"Like a spider sense type deal?" Gwen asks him and he nods as they start casually skating towards it now
"Yea like as soon as I saw your foot slip like time slowed down a lot so I just got off and made sure to catch you then something in my neck like warned me of danger then I instinctively threw my head back when you tried to 'slap' me." Peter explains to her as she nods her head
"So it must be one of your powers then." She states and he nods
"I guess so." Peter tells her as they arrive at the skate park
"Alright apparent spider boy, show me what you got." Gwen tells him as Peter smiles and jumps up probably 13 feet off the ground as Gwen looks at him in awe then he starts to climb up the concrete and hangs from the top of the concrete before jumping down and doing a back flip.
"That's so cool!" Gwen says as Peter smiles at her
"Thank you." Peter tells her and she looks at him
"Can I see your phone so I can call my number so you can have it?" Gwen asks with a slight blush and Peter hands it to her also blushing and Gwen does it quickly giving it back
"You want me to walk home with you?" Peter asks and Gwen looks at him
"If you want spider boy." Gwen tells him as they begin walking home
It cuts to them being in front of a house.
"Well thank you Peter thanks for trusting me, I'll see you tomorrow." Gwen says kissing him on the cheek before going inside
"Well that went well I think." Peter mumbles to himself before walking to his house before cutting back to Gwen going inside and her dad looks at her
"Who was that?" Her dad asks
"Just a friend dad." She tells him and he sighs
"Please tell me he's at least nicer than Thompson?" He asks and Gwen nods
"I think you'd like him, he's usually pretty quiet, he's a good guy." Gwen tells him hugging him before going to the kitchen
"I hope so." He says quietly
