Peter arrives home and uncle Ben and aunt may rush to him
"Where the hell have you been?" Uncle Ben asks him
"With a friend." Peter says simply
"And you didn't think to at least tell us that before staying out this late?" Uncle Ben asks
"I don't know, I was just caught up in conversation." Peter tells them shrugging
"Well did you at least get the milk?" Aunt May asks him knowing that was the next thing Ben was going to ask and Peter stands still like a deer in headlights
"Milk?" Peter asks and uncle Ben gets mad
"Are you serious Peter, we've been worried sick and you couldn't even get the one thing, one thing we wanted you to get?!" Uncle Ben asks him
"I'm sorry ok! I'll just go back and get it." Peter tells him and uncle Ben shakes his head
"No I don't know why you can't try to be more like your dad, like he said with great power comes great responsibility, you need to learn that!" Uncle Ben yells at him
"Well where is he then?! I was his responsibility but he's not here is he!" Peter tells them and he storms off outside breaking the door on the way out with his super strength and aunt May makes a move to go get him but uncle Ben stops her
"No it's my fault, I'll go get him." He says taking a deep breath and stepping carefully around the glass
Cutting back to Peter he wipes a few tears from his eyes quickly before walking into a gas station as he looks around and settles on getting a half gallon of milk, a soda, and a candy bar as he puts it all on the counter as he notices someone else come into the store with short black hair, a scar across his cheek, and a tattoo of barb wire on the back of his hands and the cashier scans everything
"That'll be 6.51." The cashier tells him and Peter pulls out 6.50 and doesn't have anything else
"Shit, I'm a penny short." Peter says quietly looking down
"If you don't have enough put something back." The cashier says annoyed already which makes Peter mad as he sees the Pennies laying in the give a penny basket so he thinks it's a take a penny leave a penny tray as he puts one on the counter and the cashier just laughs
"Come on dude you're holding up the line, you can leave a penny you can't take one now get the hell out of the store." He says getting it wrong
"It's just a penny and it's a take a penny leave a penny." Peter tells him practically begging
"Sorry it's not my problem now like I said, leave the store before I call the cops." The cashier tells him and Peter sighs in defeat before going to the doors as he notices the guy that was behind him starts to rob the cashier before looking to Peter throwing him the stuff he wanted and Peter nods in thanks
"What the hell dude you didn't help?" The cashier asks mad
"Not my problem." Peter says coldly before leaving the gas station before walking around and notices a lot of people running towards an area where there cops and and paramedics and Peter looks worried and then he notices it's his uncle so he runs to him
"Uncle Ben?!" He asks with tears in his eyes
"Peter?" Uncle Ben asks with blood coming out of his mouth
"Uncle Ben your going to be ok right?" Peter asks crying
"Remember Peter, with Great power comes Great responsibility." Uncle Ben says then dies
"No." Peter cries then the police lead him to an ambulance where he's crying before he hears something over the police radio
"Suspect male, late 30s, short black hair, a scar across his cheek, and a tattoo of barb wire on the back of his hands." The voice says making Peter realize it was the man he let go from the gas station then he notices Captain Stacy get out of his car
"Peter right?" He asks and Peter just nods "We'll find the man Peter, you have my word, Gwen is worried about you since she knows who it is.
"Thank you Captain Stacy." Peter tells him and Captain Stacy collects some papers from an officer before heading back over to Peter
"Why don't I take you home?" He asks Peter who nods
"Thank you sir." Peter tells him as Captain Stacy leads him and opens the passenger door of his car
"No problem kid, just tell me the way." Captain Stacy tells him
"Does Aunt May know?" Peter asks and Captain Stacy nods
"She's already been informed and they also went ahead and said I will be taking you home as well." Captain Stacy tells him
"Thank you." Peter simply says
The rest of the car ride was silent until they reach Peter's house
"Gwen also said she'd call you about 15 minutes after I dropped you off just to let you know." Captain Stacy says as Peter gets out of the car
"Alright, thank you sir." Peter tells him
"Please call me George Peter." George says waving goodbye as Peter enters the house and breaks down crying with Aunt May
After a few minutes aunt May tells him she's going to go to the police station he goes up to the bathroom to get ready to go to bed
He starts cleaning up before his phone starts ringing and he sees it's Gwen calling right when George told him she would so he goes and sits on his bed and answers it
"Hey Peter, how are you holding up?" Gwen asks worriedly
"I guess about as good as I can be at the moment." Peter tells her with a chuckle with no humor behind it
"What happened?" Gwen asks
"We got into an argument, I left and went to the gas station to get what he wanted, then I was a penny short so they kicked me out then they got robbed and I could have stopped it Gwen, I could have with these powers but I was being pity, then that man murdered my uncle." Peter tells her crying
"I'm so sorry Peter, I'm here for you if you need anything." Gwen tells him
"Thank you Gwen." Peter tells her
"What're you going to do now?" Gwen asks him as he hears sirens and sees an old red stocking hat
"What I should have done when he robbed the gas station." Peter tells her and she sighs
"Just don't do anything you wouldn't do to any normal criminal if this is a supper hero test." Gwen tells him as he takes scissors and cuts out holes for his mouth eyes and nose
"I'll try for you but no promises, I'll see you tomorrow Gwen." He tells her bidding goodbye as they hang up
