Peter sighs getting dressed in a black suit and tie as he hears a knock on the door and he opens it and sees it's Gwen who hugs him
"Hi Peter." She greets him as he hugs back
"Hey Gwen, how're you?" Peter asks
"I'm alright, how're you holding up?" She asks him with a sad smile
"Alright all things considered I guess." He tells her with a sad smile and she takes his hand and squeezes it gently
"Come on." She tells him as they start walking to the funeral home
Skipping to the burial
Peter is sitting with his hands in his face as Gwen is hugging him, running her hand through his hair
"You'll be alright Pete, I'll make sure of it." She says kissing his cheek as he sniffles wiping his tears
"Thank you Gwen, I really appreciate it." Peter tells her sincerely
"Now Mr Peter Parker, do you have anything to say?" The mortician asks and Peter nods as Gwen leads him up to the small stage before sitting back down.
"Thank you sir, it hasn't even been a week since my Uncle Ben's death, yet it seems like a lifetime ago already, I'll miss your laugh, your advice, your good nature, in time I'll begin to forget what you sound like and what you look like outside of the pictures I have, but I will always remember with great power comes great responsibility." Peter says and shakes his head not able to speak anymore and Gwen comes up and helps him down the stage as he cries into her shoulder once they sit back down and she comforts him then it skips to the end of it as Peter's looking at his grave as Gwen is rubbing her thumb on his hand, Peter looks at the words on the gravestone
"Loving son, husband, brother, uncle"
And below that it reads
"With Great Power comes Great Responsibility"
"I'll miss you uncle Ben." Peter whispers as Gwen squeezes his hand in comfort before Peter starts walking away and Harry and Ned come up to the pair
"Hey Pete." Harry says with a small sad smile
"What's up Harry?" Peter asks sadly
"About to go back home after I checked up on you." Harry tells him with a sad sigh
"I heard about your dad's partner, I'm sorry about him." Peter tells him honestly and Harry nods in thanks
"Thanks Pete, we're trying to figure out who did it, we think it was a murder." Harry tells him shocking Peter
"What, how?" Peter asks him and Harry shrugs
"I'm not sure all we know is that there's way to much done in there for it to be a freak accident, my dad's been there less than usual, both physically... and mentally." Harry says with a sigh
"Let me know if you need anything Harry." Peter tells him and Harry hugs him
"Thanks Pete, you're a great friend, and you do the same." Harry tells him before bidding farewell
"What Harry said, if you need anything, just let me know." Ned tells him
"Thank you Ned." Peter tells him before they go their separate ways "so you ready for that date?"
"Are you Peter?" Gwen asks him worriedly "it's ok we can do it tomorrow if you'd rather do that."
"No, I already promised tonight." Peter tells her putting a hand around her neck and Gwen smiles at him
"That you did I guess, I still wouldn't blame you if you didn't tonight." Gwen tells him
"Oh I know, but I insist, wanna go to Mexican?" Peter asks her and she smiles
"That sounds wonderful Peter." Gwen tells him
"Good." Peter says as Gwen rests her head on Peter's shoulder for a second before Peter wraps his arm around her waist and they walk towards the restaurant as Peter calls and makes reservations
They arrive at the restaurant and Peter opens the door for Gwen
"M'lady." He says with a small grin as Gwen giggles
"What a gentleman, thank you." She tells him as they walk up to the tall man with a beard and black hair
"Reservations in advance or making them now?" The man asks
"Reservations for Parker." Peter tells the man
"Ah yes, Peter Parker, come this way." The man says as they follow him and they seat in a nice section in front of a candle in a two person table
"This is amazing Peter, thank you." Gwen tells him with a smile
"Not a problem madam." Peter tells her as they order enchiladas
"So what do you think about Norman's assistant, that can't be an accident could it?" Gwen asks eating her food and Peter thinks about it
"I see your point, too many coincidences, I'll go out after this, but right now let's enjoy this nice meal." Peter tells her holding her hand making her blush
"That sounds good to me Peter." She tells him
They finish up and Peter pays the bill as they see a paper say "The Daily Bugle: masked menace 'Spiderman' terrorizing the city, pay top dollar for high quality pictures of said menace' making Gwen scoff
"Seriously, you've saved how many lives already?" Gwen asks and notices Peter smirk "what is it?"
"I know how I'm gonna make money." He tells her focusing on the top dollar for high quality pictures
"I guess you have seen Spiderman every night haven't you." She says jokingly
"Guess I'm taking my camera tonight." Peter tells her
