Silverstudent: You'll see

Chapter 3: Bad Water

Mako slowly walked over to the window, seeing the first specks of sunlight over the city. "Isn't a bit early for you to be up," Mako turned to see July wearing her sleepwear. "The Prince usually doesn't get up until around nine."

Mako smiled, "Don't worry, that isn't going to be a problem anymore."

July smiled, "But I get the feeling that a new problem is around the corner. Especially with how you came home last night."

"Sorry," as Mako took her hands, "I don't have all the details just yet but when I can you'll be the first I tell."

"Okay, then I assume you're not going to be here for breakfast?"

"Sorry, we all agreed to meet up in the morning to discuss what happened last night." explained Mako. "But we can meet up for dinner."

"That sounds perfect." said July before coming up with the idea, "Oh that could give me a chance to head to jewelers, I can get some polish to clean up your mom's ring."

"You would do that?" asked Mako.

"Of course it's your mother's ring, we have to make sure it's taken care of."said July.

Mako placed a hand on her cheek, "I love you, July."

"I love you too, Mako." Before they shared a kiss.

~o~

The sun quickly came around over Republic city but for a few the night hadn't ended at all. Asami yawned as she walked on the dock, "It looks like you couldn't sleep either." Asami stopped and turned to see Mako and Lin.

"Hey Mako, Chief Beifong, are you guys heading to Air Temple Island as well?" Asked Asami.

"Yes, we need to discuss what happened last night," said Lin.

Asami then noticed that Mako was smiling, "What's got you in such a good mood?"

"I know this situation isn't good but now I don't need to babysit Prince Wu," said Mako with a smile, "Since I'm now a target of a national threat."

Asami stepped into the speed boat as Lin started the motor. "Speaking of which, why are you a target?"

"Mako probably arrested one of that guy's men," said Lin as she got the boat started and Mako untied it from the dock. "Chances are the reason Mako is a target as well as Tenzin is similar. Mako probably arrested someone with connections to the guy and Tenzin and his Airbenders most likely got in his way as well." Lin then began to drive the boat to Air Temple Island. "Now just because you're not moving doesn't mean you should take this easy, Mako."

Mako shrugged and leaned back in his seat, "Hey I'll take being a target any day over having to babysit."

"Carefully what you say Mako," Asami playfully warned, "You might be eating those words someday."

~o~

Tenzin was walking down the hall from his office at Air Temple Island lost in thought, "Careful sweetie." came the voice of his wife holding baby Rohan, "Keep thinking too hard and steam will start coming out of your ears." she said, earning a smile from Tenzin. "How are you doing?"

Tenzin gave a tired sigh, "I'm worried Pema, I know we have had threats before but this one…this one feels different. All the threats we've faced before were all head on, Amon openly said he was going to capture us, Unaloq did little to hide his true colors when Harmonic Conversion was happening, and Zaheer and the Red Lotus attacked us immediately without warning. However, this foe we are facing now, clearly has been planning for quite some time, they disrupted our communications without us knowing and we still don't know who they are."

"Don't worry Tenzin, we've been through tough times before, we can get through this." said Pema reassuring her husband.

Suddenly they heard tiny footsteps, "Mom, Dad," yelled Ikki, "Come and look at what Korra and Kina are doing."

They both went outside to the courtyard to see Korra and Kina circling each other while also moving several large bubbles of water around in the air, Tenzin watched as they moved the water around, each step they switched to a new stance."What a minute I recognize this. This is the Dancing Dragons."

"Wait there dancing?" said Meelo disappointed, "I thought they were training?"

"This is training Meelo." said Korra as she made a smooth turn, causing the bubble of water to move around like an eel before freezing and crumbling into snow, Korra continued the spin turning the snow back into water and moving it over to Kina. "It's called the Dancing Koi Fish."

Kina then spread the bubble out forming three others that moved around her, "It was inspired by the Dancing Dragons, in a nutshell it's the Dancing Dragons for Water Benders. We learned it up in the North Pole."

"Oh Jinora, maybe we should make our own version of the dance." suggested Ikki.

Jinora thought for a moment, "Maybe, we kind of have some training and ceremonial dances like that already but I think we can make something like that."

"Count me out," said Meelo, "Any training I'm going to be doing will be real training not dancing."

"Careful, kid," said Lin as she walked up the stairs with Mako and Asami, "Your grandfather and Fire Lord Zuko used to use the Dancing Dragons regularly as training."

"Hey guys." Korra waved at the trio, "Good Morning." Kina took that as the signal to stop training as she gathered the water bubbles and turned into a large ice cube.

"Morning." greeted Mako and Asami.

"We came by to pick up where we left off last night," said Lin.

"Of course," said Tenzin.

"We can talk over breakfast," said Pema, "I believe the acolytes on duty should have it ready soon."

"Actually it's all ready," said Zan.

Everyone turned to see Zan but noticed something else. Wrapped around Zan was two to lanky light blue spirit arms, connected to a furry blob on his back. Korra couldn't help but smile, "Zan sweetie, what's on your back."

"A spirit sloth," said Zan as the sloth leaned forward resting its head on Zan's head, "It was crawling on the ground and I thought I would help put it on a tree but then it wrapped itself around me and won't let go."

Korra just laughed while Kina sighed, "Again, really? First the spirit snake and then the dog and then-"

"I can't help it." Said Zan weakly.

"Turn around," said Korra as walked towards the sloth on her boyfriend, "Alright big guy," As Korra gently grabbed the Sloth spirit, "Time to let go." As she pulled the spirit that let go of Zan, "Come on let's find you a nice tree." as she bent a pillar of earth up to a large tree and placed the sloth spirit around a large branch, "There you go." As the sloth quickly fell asleep. Korra then bent the earth back into place. "Alright let's-...Zan."

"What?" Zan then looked up to see several spirits floating above him, "This place is very spiritual isn't it."

"What are you?" asked Jinora who was getting slightly frustrated.

"Well I'm-"

"Hold it Zan," said Korra as she stepped forward and leaned down a little at Jinora, "Jinora I know Zan might be a little strange to you but he isn't the only one the world like this, there are others like him out there, I know they are different but you can't just act like this when you meet them, it's rude, so until you behave, Zan I don't want you telling her a thing."

"Okay." said Zan simply.

"What, I'm not trying to be rude, it's just.." Jinora looked at Zan and realized that Korra was right, "I'm…I'm sorry Zan," said Jinora with a bow, "It's just…as someone who is connected with the spirits, your…"

"Different I know," said Zan, "But it's okay, you're not the first one to react like this with me and I doubt you'll be the last."

"Can we go and eat now?" asked Meelo, earning a few annoyed looks.

Kina began walking to the dining area, "I'm with the kid, I'm ready for some food."

~o~

Soon all of them were eating food around a large table with Tonraq, "Thank you again Tenzin for letting me borrow your messenger for the South Pole."

"I'm more than happy to help, especially if it restores our communications," said Tenzin.

"Speaking of which," said Lin, getting his attention, "Did you send word out to the other airbenders about the letters being stolen."

"Yes I even asked them to see if any Airbenders have fought or made contact with any strange groups. I should hopefully receive word about it later today."

"Has President Raiko done anything yet, an announcement perhaps?" asked Tonraq.

"Not yet, he's going through all of the classified mail first to see what was edited and what this mystery group might have read. The post office is fully cooperating at the moment, but I do get the feeling that they will most likely face some sort of punishment." said Lin.

Kina put her bowl down, "I hope it's nothing serious, their lives were threatened after all."

Korra hummed for a moment, "I feel the same way Kina but this isn't so simple. Personal mail is one thing but they edited and stole mail that was classified, important government documents. If this group wanted to, they could have edited the papers to the point that it might have started a conflict between nations. I fear this could be the beginning of a fight between whole armies because of this. We need to come up with a different method of sending mail or some sort of security to make sure that it gets delivered correctly and safely. Communication is a valuable thing not only between people but groups as well. Poor communication and someone could use that against us." Said Korra before looking up and noticing several stares from around the table, while her father just smiled, "What?"

"Everything you just said was true," said Lin surprised, "I guess you've grown quite a bit these past three years."
"What's that supposed to mean?" asked Korra, feeling she was just insulted.

"Nothing," said Tenzin, "You've just matured is all."

"No offense Korra, but the old you wouldn't have been so level headed." said Mako.

"You probably would have punched those guys for looking at your mail," said Asami with a smile.

"Yeah, I was expecting that." added Meelo, a little disappointed. "It would have been fun."

"You also handled that spirit a lot more gracefully than you would have before." said Jinora commenting on the sloth spirit.

"You probably would have just tossed it up a tree," said Ikki.

Korra is a little shameful, "I mean the last one is a bit of an exaggeration but…yeah I probably would have punched someone back at the post office."

"A lot can change for a person in three years," said Tonraq, "I'm sure everyone here isn't the same person they were back then." Earning a round of agreement from the table.

"That's right," said Korra as she looked at her friends, "What about you guys, what have you been up to these past three years?"

"Oh a lot of busy work," said Asami, "Future Industries helped rebuild the city since Unolaq happened, and we've successfully built new roads around the new spirit vines, so there isn't a single spirit displaced."

"That's good."

"Indeed," said Tenzin proudly, "In fact some of our Airbenders have been doing guided tours into the areas with the spirit vines. It's become quite the tourist attraction."

"That's wonderful."

"We should try and find some time to go and see it." said Zan interested in it, before he continued to eat his rice bowl.

"That sounds great," said Korra as Kina passed the tea kettle over to her. "Oh what about you Mako, anything special happened to you?"

"Oh yeah something special did happen, I got a girlfriend." said Mako with a genuine smile.

"That's great," she said as she began to fill up her cup. "Who is she, what's she like?"

"Oh she's amazing, she's from the Northern Water Tribe, her name is July."

The next thing that happened was Kina spitting out her tea across the table at everyone before anyone could ask. They heard the sound of a bowl hitting the table, they looked at Zan who had dropped his bowl of rice and was staring at Mako. Then they all noticed Korra who was frozen pouring her tea that was overflowing out of her cup. "What?" asked Korra as her eyes were glued to Mako.

"Uhhh is everything okay Korra?" asked Mako.

Korra quickly placed the tea kettle down and waterbended the overflow tea back inside of it. "Yeah, uh what did you just say?"

"My girlfriend, her name is July."

"And you said she's from the Northern Water Tribe?"

"Yes."

Zan then cleared his throat, "Then does she wear a bracelet with a water tribe symbol on an iceberg on it?"

"Yes…wait a minute."

Kina then slammed her hands on the table. "Then does she wear her hair in a bun with two needles in it?"

"Have you guys met July before?" Mako asked, a little worried.

Korra rubbed her face with her hands. "Oh Mako."

"What?"

"July…July.." Repeated Tonraq as he tried to remember something, "What a minute isn't she that assassin you guys ran into at the North Pole?"

"WHAT!" yelled the room.

"Yep." said Zan as he cleaned up the rice bowl.

"Whoa wait just a second," yelled Mako, quieting the room down. "I think we might be rushing things a bit and jumping to conclusions here."

"Maybe," said Lin, "But with everything that just happened I do believe we should speak with July as soon as possible."

"Chief," said Mako, worried about the situation.

"Excuse me!" They all turned to see an airbender in the doorway. "Master Tenzin."

Tenzin stood up, "What's wrong? Is it urgent?"

"I don't know, sir?"

"Then can it wait, we are kind of in the middle of something here." as he gestured to the table.

"Well okay, but we thought you should know that water tribe girl just took a bison, sir."

"I see well if that's all-Wait what?"

Korra looked around the table, "Where's Kina?"

~o~

Kina was looking down from her 'borrowed' sky bison at the city as it approached, "I won't let you get away this time, July." She then looked at the massive sprawling city, "I'm going to need some help, here." Kina then meditated for a moment before opening her eyes, seeing a small bubble in front of her. "Hello old friend, can you give me some help?"

"Sure I would be happy to." said the bubble spirit before it began to multiply and descend over the city.

~o~

"My my I haven't seen a ring like this in a long time," said the Jeweler, July had taken Mako's ring to the small shop in the Republic City to make sure it was still in good condition and was able to get cleaned properly, "Where did you get this miss?"

"My boyfriend, it belonged to his mother, but they lost it for a while and a family friend fixed it up and looked after it apparently," explained July, "Did they not do a good job?"

"No they did a perfect job," said the Jeweler as he pointed inside the ring, "You see how the color is a bit darker on the inside, this ring was made with amber and volcanic ash. This type of ring was used by a lot of old nobility in the Fire Nation."

"Nobility?" said July in surprise, "My boyfriend isn't from nobility, his mother was an immigrant from the Fire Nation."

"Ah old nobility then," said the Jeweler as he began to clean the ring, "You see this type ring was given to a lot of nobility back in the day and the past few hundred years nobility changed a lot, chances are your boyfriend is a descendant of a noble house that either didn't agree with Sozin and his useless war or Zuko and his peace. With what you've told me I'd say it's the former, causing the downfall of their family leaving only small trinkets like this to remind themselves who they once were. It's why I've seen quite a few of these in my day."

"Really, I had no idea."

"Well I guess it's just a theory at the moment," said The Jeweler as he examined his work, "I don't know the young man or his family so I can't confirm it, but I can confirm you made the right decision bringing this ring here. Any normal cleaner for anytype of other jewel would have ruined this ring, you have to use a special cleaner for this and I got plenty in stock."

"Thankyou." As July purchased a bottle of cleaner and left.

~o~

Flying through the air a small bubble flew through the city before spying a young woman in blue, "Oh I think I found her."

~o~

July soon found herself sitting at a small cafe drinking some tea, as she did she stared at the small box holding the ring. As she sipped her tea she imagined the ring on her finger, "What am I doing?" said July under her breath, she then closed her eyes and leaned back in her chair. "How did this become my life, a year ago it wouldn't be this quiet."

"Hi there."

July blinked before noticing a small bubble-like spirit floating in front of her, and raised an eyebrow, "A bubble spirit?" Before July could question it a massive crash got her attention as she turned to the street and saw a massive sphere of water with a girl inside staring right at her. "Kina!" said July as she recognized the girl as she stepped out of the sphere, "Now this does seem to be a familiar tune." said July as she finished her tea and quickly put the box with the ring in her coat before quickly pulling out several small knives and throwing them at Kina.

Kina quickly threw up her hands, raising an ice shield blocking all of the knives. "I am not letting you get away this time, July."

July responded by undoing her coat slightly to pull out a long whip that was wrapped around her waist. "I suppose this dream had to end sometime," she threw the whip back, wrapping it around a chair and throwing it at Kina who cut it in half with water, "But you're going to pay for ruining it."

Kina got into a fighting stance raising several tendrils of water. "Bring it."

~o~

"So you're telling me my girlfriend has tried to kill you guys before," asked Mako as they flew towards the city on Oogi, Tenzin's sky Bison. "And she's poisoned Kina twice."

"Yeah Kina's kind of held a grudge because of that." said Zan. "Which makes sense."

Korra nodded as she remembered being poisoned herself, "Getting poisoned is not fun." Zan put an arm around Korra to help comfort her, "Thanks."

"I don't believe this," said Mako.

"Believe it, Mako," said Lin, "You have the worst taste in women."

Her comment earned looks from two women that were on the bison. "Uh excuse me?" said Asami.

"Yes I'm also including you two as well," said Lin unfazed by the girls stares, "Or are you going to tell me that neither of you have dragged him into a lot of trouble before." said Lin causing both of them into a nervous silence, "The amount of trouble that would normally drive a man to the hills."

Both Asami and Korra looked at each other for a moment, "Was it that bad?" They then turned to Mako.

"Uhh no, I mean…" Mako thought about it for a moment. "I guess a normal guy wouldn't get involved in a civil war, or try making a deal with the triads."

"A normal guy would have left a long time ago," said Ikki as she popped her head up.

Tenzin spun around to see all three of his kids sitting on Oogi's tail. "What are you three doing here? I thought I told you all to stay behind with your mother."

Jinora gave an apologetic wave, "Sorry, but before we knew it, Meelo was already flying towards Oogi before you left.

Meelo then jumped to the center of the saddle. "You think I'm going to miss Korra's first fight back. This is going to be awesome." He yelled excitedly.

"I think we're going to try avoiding a fight," said Zan, "If Mako can talk to her, maybe we can end this peacefully." Dashing Meelo's hope.

"Zan's right Meelo, if we can end this without a fight we should." said Korra.

"WHAT!" complained Meelo.

"Good," said Tonraq, "Because if anything happens to Kina, my wife is going to kill me."

"Relax dad," Reassured Korra, "Kina has been traveling with me for a while now, she can handle herself."

BOOOOM!

Everyone looked in time to see a Satomobile being launched into the air by water. "I think that's Kina." said Zan.

"Tenzin." called Korra.

"Oogi, fly." said Tenzin, "Yip, yip." Oogi roared as they flew towards the action.

~o~

July began to back flip away as Kina began sending ice shards at her, July backflipped and spun around dodging all the shards before using her whip to catch one and sending it back at Kina. Kina took the water and pushed it down creating an ice path for her to slide forward while freezing the ground. July saw it coming and jumped away from the ice, she then used her whip to pull herself to a nearby light post. She wrapped her legs around the post before using her free hand to throw more knives at Kina.

Kina saw the knives coming and raised a sphere of water, "How many of these do you have?" As she threw the ball of water with the knives back at July.

July jumped over the ball with a flip, "Clearly not enough." As July was about to land in front of Kina her heels split open to reveal blades on the bottom.

Kina's eyes went wide as she leaned back enough to dodge the heel blade. Kina then reached forward more water as July landed. July seeing this spun her other heel at close range. Though neither the water or bladed heel touched as several metal wires wrapped around Kina and July. The two followed the wires to a trio of metal benders with two of the metal benders holding the two girls.

"Hold it right there you two." said the metal bender who wasn't holding a wire. "You've caused enough-" He froze as he saw the glares coming from the two girls.

July reached into her coat grabbing a unique pale knife, while Kina summoned the water around her body creating a sphere, "STAY OUT OF THIS!" July used the knife to cut her wire freeing herself, while Kina spun the sphere around her pulling the metal bender around sending him at the metal bender that was holding July.

The last metal bender standing raised his hands, stepping back, "You know what, I have two sisters back home, you girls settle this."

"Are you serious?" Suddenly a fireball landed between the two girls.

The metal bender turned to see the chief of police hopping off of a sky bison, followed by detective Mako. "Chief" said the metal bender with a salute.

"Were you really about to let these two continue fighting?" asked Lin, causing the officer to hang his head in shame, "Do that again and I'll have your badge."

July looked and saw the new group approaching, "Avatar Korra, Zan and…" July gasp "Mako."

Mako walked up to his girlfriend. "July." He spoke with sadness filled in his voice.

July dropped her whip, "I surrender." she said just loud enough for everyone to hear before reaching into her coat.

"Mako stay back." shouted Kina as she water bended a sphere into the air on the ready.

Mako stepped in front of July, "Stop, she's surrendering."

"You can't trust her, she's a master of hidden weapons, she poisoned me once with just her nails, you can't…you can…" Kina then began to shake as she lost control of her water sphere and control of her body, "Not again."

"Kina!" shouted Korra as she ran forward catching her cousin before she fell to the ground. "Kina are you alright?"

"I can't move," said Kina as she tried to move her body. "How? I was careful this time."

"Your foot," said July as she pointed to Kina's foot, right above the shoe was a small needle. "When the metal benders grabbed us I tossed a small needle at your foot, relax it's just a mild dose of shirshu toxin. It will only last about twenty minutes."

"Shirshu toxin? That's only a paralyzing toxin, it's none lethal." said Zan slightly confused.

Korra gave July a confused look. "Since when do you do non lethal?"

"A lot has changed with me," said July quietly before glancing at Mako, "but not soon enough."

Korra, Kina and Zan stared at July in confusion and surprise, "I'm sorry, what is going on here?" asked Kina with a pit of anger.

"You're under arrest," said Lin, "Both you and July are under arrest."

"What why?" shouted Kina from her paralyzed position.

Korra looked at her cousin with a raised eyebrow, "Uh Kina," Korra then gestured to the scene around them.

Kina craned her head as much as possible to see the street in a wreck and a partially frozen car that was turned upside down. "I was trying to fight a killer assassin."

Zan kneeled down, "Kina you may have had good intentions but you have also gone a bit far."

July then bowed to the three, "I apologize for the trouble I have caused."

All three of them were silent as they stared at the woman, "What?" asked Kina.

Mako stepped in front of July, "Look I know July has done some bad things in the past but she hasn't done anything at all the entire time we've been dating, please just hear her out."

Korra narrowed her eyes at the two, "Hold on a second, you're stupid when it comes to the ones you love but you aren't stupid stupid, you knew…this whole time you knew about July didn't you."

"Well yeah we live together," said Mako, earning a variety of looks, "Well i didn't know about the assassin part but other than that."

July looked up at Mako in the eyes, "You knew…this whole time?"

"Of course, I'm a detective for a reason." said Mako as he took her hands, "I noticed it the first day we met, July. You always double check everything, you would always find the exits to every room you're in, you double check every person we meet in the corner of your eyes. I could tell you had a past but who doesn't. I'm an orphan from the streets, I used to have to do things for the Triads to make sure me and my brother were safe. We were able to get out and start over, I thought maybe your do over could start with me, here in Republic City and when you were ready you could tell me. Oh and I also already found all the knives you hid around the house."

"I love you." said July, filled with emotion.

"Aawww." fawned Ikki and Jinora along with the three Metal Bending officers.

"Don't 'Aahh' them," shouted Kina in her paralyzed state. "She poisoned me twice."

"Three times now." pointed out Korra.

"Three times!"

"Enough," said Lin. "We're all going down to the station now."

~o~

Asami was holding one of July's shoes that had the bladed heel. "How do you even fight in this, I feel my ankles hurting just by looking at these."

"A lot of practice." said July who was sitting in a chair handcuffed. "Though worth it, nobody expects it, nobody." They had brought everyone to the police station and were currently all in the office section next to Mako's desk. "Though I am still wondering why am I not in a jail cell somewhere, instead of just handcuffed to a desk?"

"That's because you surrendered peacefully to my officers, not to mention I don't believe you are a flight risk and you have no prior offenses at least here in the United Republic of Nations." Explained Lin before picking up the strange green knife. "How did you use this to cut my officers wires, do you have some sort of ability like Zan?"

"Oh you mean Zan's weird spirit powers, no." answered July, "The knife is made of bone and is just filled with Gecko Eel Vile, stuff can cut through most metal like warm butter but takes quite a bit of it to burn the skin. Safest way to deal with a metal bender as a non bender."

"Gecko Eel Vile?"

"Yep, normally it's hard to get without having to wrestle the animal but thanks to new methods and technology, getting the acid has become rather simple recently in the North." explained July.

"I see," said Lin as she placed the knife down. "I'll have to tell my officers to be aware of that going forward."

"So what is the other reason you aren't tossing me in some hole and throwing away the keys?" asked July.

"We have some questions first," said Korra from a little bit away standing beside her cousin who was sitting in a chair glaring daggers at July. "For starters, I believe I speak for everyone who knew you from before, what are you doing here?"

"After our second encounter in the North I decided to go down south a bit, I got a job to take out Prince Wu and make it look like an accident. Though on the first day of recon, I bumped into Mako while scouting out Prince Wu. I at first got close to Mako so I could get closer to Prince Wu, but that never happened," said July as her cheeks turned a little bit more red, "Because I got closer to Mako instead." Her words caused Mako to blush a bit. "I haven't hurt or taken a job since."

Asami smiled and lightly jabbed her elbow into Mako. "Wow, you are really head over heels for her aren't you."

Korra stepped towards Mako, "Mako, I have a question and I want an honest answer, after learning that July was a former assassin, do you still trust her."

"Yes," said Mako immediately, "I know that may sound like some sort of answer from a love sick puppy, but I do trust her, I know by all logic I should be skeptical or paranoid, but I do still trust her." As Mako said this everyone noticed July's smile as she looked at Mako.

"Oh you've got to be kidding me," Said Kina nearly shouting as she struggled to stand up, "There's no way. You guys aren't believing this are you? Please tell me you are not buying this."

Korra sighed, "I hate to say it Kina, but I don't think either of them are lying. What do you think, Zan?"

"I have to agree with you Korra." said Zan, "I haven't noticed anything that would make me believe she was lying."

"Yeah neither did I," admitted Korra, "I'll be honest, July, you've tried to kill us twice but I do trust Mako, so I am willing to give you a chance," Korra then walked up to July looking at her directly, "Especially since we are in need of your skills."

July raised an eyebrow, "I doubt you want me to kill someone, what do you need?"

"What do you know about the criminal underworld?"

"A lot, but not everything. After I cut ties with the underworld, I made sure to keep an ear to the ground to make sure no one was following me."

"Then do you know anything about what happened with the mail and the post office?"

"Now that is something I don't know everything about," said July. "I have heard of some odd movements, a mysterious group has been trying to recruit a lot of people and each person is sworn to secrecy, if they don't they are never heard from again. It was too far of a risk, so I never took any jobs connected to the group, but I have heard the rumors. They are forming an army that will change the world, the leaders all want something different, their own slice of the pie but they can't agree on anything other than the death of the Avatar and the destruction of current world, they have plans to alter each nation, The North and South Water Tribe, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, even the Air Nation."

"Alter it how?" asked Tenzin.

"No idea," said July with a shrug, "All I know this plan has been going on for a while, these rumors are not new, this group has been around for a while, some people even say this group has been going since before the hundred year war, that rumor I believe."

"What makes you say that?" asked Korra.

"Harmonic Convergence," said July, causing everyone to feel the room temperature drop a little. "Think about since Harmonic Convergence, a lot has changed, airbenders have returned, spirits are now roaming the world, and people are appearing with interesting spirit abilities." as she looked at Zan. "I know that some of you are probably thinking, that's impossible how would anyone know that was going to happen. Well that's easy, groups like the Red Lotus have excellent memories, people that are connected to the spirit world more strongly than others, the spirits could have told people about it and there have been people that have been able to see the future before." July looked at the wheels turning in everyone's heads. "Oh come now, you all know the last one is true, especially you Avatar or haven't you heard about Aang running into the fortune teller?"

Korra sighed, "Yeah Katara told me about that story." Korra then groaned, "And everything your saying is making sense, of course there would be a die hard radical group that has waited until Harmonic Convergence to try and take over the world."

"Alright, we're going to need names." said Lin, "I want to know everyone you know."

"Of course," said July, fully willing to talk. "I'll answer-"

Suddenly the doors to the office opened as Jinora entered the room looking around, "Where'd it go?"

"Jinora? What are you doing?" asked Tenzin.

Soon Ikki and Meelo came running in. "Sorry, we know you wanted us to wait outside with the bison but Jinora just ran in." said Ikki.

"She said she saw something," said Meelo. "I think she may just be losing it."

Jinora turned and gave her brother a glare, "I'm not losing it, I know I saw something."

"What did you see?" asked Tenzin.

"Zan!" shouted Korra who was looking at the window before running out of the room.

"Oh crud." said Zan, before chasing after Korra. Soon everyone ran after the two until they made it to the lobby of the police station. The second they ran into the lobby Zan quickly placed one hand on the handle of his sword while he used his other hand to quickly catch four small daggers in between each of his fingers.

"What in blazes," yelled Lin before looking at the doors, "Who threw that?"

Standing at the doors was a young girl with dark brown hair that was tied into a long braid down her back. She wore a robe top that showed her midriff, with an armored short skirt with leggings underneath. The thing that everyone noticed though was the two swords on her lower back that crossed each other. She had a serious expression on her face as she stared down at Korra and Zan, "Where is she? I know she is here."

"Who are you?" asked Asami.

Before Kina pushed her slightly and waved at the girl with a smile, "Hi, Ty Yin."

The girl's attitude suddenly shifted as she gave a bright happy smile and waved, "Hi Kina. Hi Korra."

Korra gave a small wave and a forced grin, "Hi Ty Yin."
