Disclaimer: This world obviously belongs to none other than J.K. Rowling herself.

without any more delay, let's dig into the story and enjoy.

It was a late summer night, Ginny moved silently down the corridor, drenched in sweat with a mixture of blood that wasn't hers. The knife was strapped against her belt, glinted in the dim light, the very knife she used to murder her victim. She doesn't feel any remorse for her kill, she firmly believed in the righteousness of her mission. The king himself had assigned her to eliminate a man who had brought nothing but suffering to the kingdom.

Her loyalty and devotion to the king and the kingdom's safety and prosperity kept her going, committing this atrocious deed. Without her king's guidance, she would never have agreed to undertake such a task.

Over time, it had become a defining aspect of her identity, and she found herself uncertain about how to feel about it. Was this something to be proud of or perhaps ashamed of? The answer eluded her.

The leather dress Ginny wore, tightly fitted and hugging her body, had become increasingly uncomfortable, especially now that she had the chance to truly notice how it clung to her. It's not like Ginny was not used to this but today was a hard fight. She couldn't help but long for the comfort of her chambers, where she could slide into something more comfortable. But first she has to meet her king. With the late hour, Ginny knew he would be found in his chambers.

Ginny made her way to the king's chamber, The guards stationed at the king's chamber stood steadfast, blocking the entrance. However, as she approached, they smoothly slid aside, opening the doors to allow her passage. The guards are not supposed to have a conversation with her, not only the guards but everyone in the castle or even outside, except for the king of course.

Though Ginny never had a reason to communicate, not after that incident...

Ginny entered into the king's chamber, it is much more spacious than her own, in fact it is quadruple than her own chamber. There sat a beautiful figure in a silk green robe in his favourite armchair, his handsome features illuminated by the fiery glow of the nearby fireplace. He seems to be reading a book, but Ginny knows his mind is somewhere else as he didn't yet realise she was there. Or she could be getting better at blending in shadows as he always trained her to do.

To capture her king's attention, Ginny sank to one knee and reported, her voice laced with obedience, "The mission was accomplished, my lord. The target is no more"

The king, lifting his gaze from the pages, met Ginny's eyes with a flicker of recognition. His brown eyes gleamed with a hint of satisfaction as he said, "You have proven once again that you are a valuable asset to my kingdom. Keep up the good work."

"Thank you, my lord" replied Ginny, as she stood up and bowed to show her gratitude.

"Despite your unwavering loyalty and hardworking efforts for the kingdom," he said, "there is another task I wish to entrust to you, one that surpasses all your previous endeavours." Ginny's eyebrows arched in surprise and anticipation as the king spoke of a new task, greater than any she had undertaken before? His tone shifted to a more serious note, or was it tinged with fear? She couldn't help but wonder about the implications of such a statement.

Shaking her thoughts Ginny replied "yes, my lord. Who is this person?"

"He calls himself 'the sea serpent', he is a pirate, he loots the kings and kills everyone who gets in his way. According to reports he is on his way to our kingdom." Ginny knows it's not the whole story, her king is definitely hiding something. But she knows if it is important he'd surely share it with her.

The king extended a parchment and said "this is the face you should eliminate" her face turned into stone, she never enjoyed killing no matter how brutal these people are.

Reading her face the king replied "remember ginny, this is all for the greater good of the kingdom. Imagine the world without these gruesome people, I only want the best in people." he stood up from her armchair and closed the distance between Ginny and himself. He lifted his free hand to caress her cheek where a scar lies and told her "I need you Ginny, I can't achieve the goal without you. You are the most important person in my life."

Ginny couldn't help but to stare into those beautiful brown eyes. She wants to reach his hand which is still placed on her cheek, "Now-" with his response ginny snapped out of the daze and looked at the parchment he extended towards her. She slowly reached and took the parchment out of his hand. He removed his hand from her cheek, which made her heart drop.

"When would I be leaving sir?"

"If possible, tomorrow. I was informed that the Sea Serpent will be staying in a nearby kingdom before continuing his journey to ours. You'll make your journey through a ship. You will have to eliminate him before he enters into this kingdom. If necessary, you have permission to reveal your presence in order to accomplish this task." He said with an absolute tone, which Ginny understood there is room for negotiation. The King's word was the law, and she would strive to carry out his wishes without fault.

"Yes, my lord." Ginny hesitated for a moment, but the king didn't acknowledge her brief moment of uncertainty. She was never given a task this fast as she just completed a task, it must be really important for the king.

"You may take your leave" with that the king turned and left no room for further discussion.

Ginny bowed one last time and made her departure.

Ginny entered into her chamber; the maid was already made by a servant in her 'absence'. She made her way to clean herself up as she remembered the dried blood on her hands and dress. Ginny couldn't wait to get out of this garment.

As she's cleaning herself, Ginny couldn't help but think about tomorrow's mission. She was yet to open the parchment. Not today, I'll look at it later.

Ginny still has to remove the face of today's kill. Today was extremely hard, as she never had to confront the mission's family. She still can't wipe the images of his family, his children begging her to stop. She couldn't. she can't disobey the king's order. Ginny replayed the whole incident as tears flowed down her face.

She couldn't sleep that night.

Author's note: This would be my first fanfiction. And English is not my first language so bear with me a little until I find a beta reader.

Don't forget to leave your opinion in the review box, and if you guys have any suggestions to the story, I'll be very happy to take those into consideration.

I'll try to update a new chapter every week. If I didn't, I'm probably scratching my brain for better ideas. I am determined to complete this story so bear with me.

If you're reading this you are my favourite person.

Love,

Leorah
