September 2001, one happy late evening in Southtown.

Kyo and Yuri had just finished their passionate night of lovemaking. This time around, there was no contraception. The pair had ignited the embers of parenthood. It started with their signature favorite song "Eternal Flame" by The Bangles. Then, subsequent hits most fit for bedside candlelight tangos followed suit: "Father Figure" by George Michael; "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin (the love theme from Top Gun); "Only You" by The Platters; "Missing You" by Diana Ross; "Shining Star" by The Manhattans; "Hands to Heaven" by Breathe; "Angel" by Aerosmith; "I Love You" by Yutaka Ozaki, and so on and so forth.

Now, they were lying in bed, cuddled up against each other in afterglow as "Hold On" by Jamie Walters (of fame from the 1992 musical drama TV series The Heights and mid-90s' Beverly Hills 90210) played on the surround-sound stereo in their bedroom.

Kyo didn't bother lighting up one of his "cancer sticks" as he was in the process of gradually quitting that habit. Nor, did he take a swig of JD and Sprite from a small glass sitting on a nightstand by the bed; there was none, and everything had to be clean...except for the pheromone-scented mess the childhood sweethearts made in bed, as it turned out. Part of starting to raise little ones and being the greatest role model to them (alongside mom), he guessed.

All of a sudden, Yuri's eyes welled up a bit, and she trembled. Kyo's face contorted to that of a concerned look.

"What's wrong?" Kyo asked.

"I'm scared," Yuri whispered tearfully.

Kyo pulled Yuri in closer and kissed her on the forehead.

Jamie Walters' chorus echoed throughout the room ominously yet in an enlightening, soothing manner, a musical oxymoron in the form of waves:

Hold on

Do you feel a little stronger?

Hold on, to me

Hold on

Everything's gonna be alright

Just hold on to me tonight

"So am I," he whispered back.

"What if I'll turn out to be a bad mother?"

"You'll never be that, Luv."

"What if you'll turn out to be a bad father like your dad somewhat was?"

"I'll never be that one, either. I can assure you," Kyo whispered soothingly as he gently wiped the tears away from Yuri's eyes with his fingers.

"I'll always be here for you, never letting you go on with this life alone, especially with little ones on the way," Kyo added with a smile on his face.

"Babe, hold me closer," Yuri whimpered further as she buried her face on Kyo's chest. Despite herself aching in all three holes (after what could be the best sex she's ever had with her lifelong love), she reveled in comfort knowing that the young man she's known since they were little may be smug and haughty out there in the real world but the nicest one out of public eyes, almost like a little puppy or a kitty.

"It's okay," Kyo continued comforting Yuri. He tilted her head up to have her look into his eyes.

"You're the only lady I've always loved. You know that," he added as he kissed her.

"I do," Yuri whispered back as she felt Kyo's arms swerve on the small of her back.

"Just like when we tied the knot months ago."

April 16, 2001. That was Shizuka's 52nd birthday, although "Big Momma" looked way too young for her age, like 20 years younger (in her 30s, supposedly). And, nobody would know the difference. She's five years younger than "Big Dada" Saisyu, the former soldier-turned-private detective whom she married back in the early 70s, a few years before Kyo was born.

Despite being distant cousins, Shizuka and Saisyu couldn't help but still be in love with each other throughout the decades. For this, they also hoped that Kyo and Yuri would do the same, especially with the latter being soulmates ever since they were babies born in the same hospital...five days apart. Days or weeks from tonight, they'll eventually find out that they will finally be grandparents to a healthy child, whether it'll be a boy or a girl (or both, in case of twins).

But, then again, that's not what Kyo and Yuri were thinking as of now; the pair just enjoyed being with each other after a romp that would eventually turn into a lovely miracle for them both during the months that will follow.

"Let's just let our minds zoom to space, Mrs. Yuri Kusanagi. Shall we?" Kyo asked with happy eagerness.

"I'm with you on that, Kyo-San," Yuri replied softly.

"All the way?"

"All the way, Boo. Pinkie promise," Yuri mused as she let one pinkie finger in front of her and Kyo. Kyo had a corresponding pinkie close in and bind with Yuri's as he kissed her passionately and repeatedly.

The two paramours then let each other drift into deep sleep, trying not to care about what tomorrow will bring.
