Author's Note: Welcome back! It looks like Benji got the job at the pizzeria. Let's see how Night 1 goes.
Chapter 3: The First Night
"BRRRRRIIINNNGGG!"
The alarm on Benji's phone woke him up from his nap before his first night shift at the pizzeria. Hmm, weird, I didn't have my usual nightmare this time, Benji thought to himself while stretching. He yawned and got out of his bed. It was already 11 PM, so Benji grabbed his outfit from earlier out of the dryer, brought it to his room, laid the outfit onto the bed, and got into the shower quickly. While he was in the shower, he heard the child's laughter in his bathroom like he heard it in the parking lot earlier! He peeked out from the shower door, and he didn't see anyone in the bathroom with him! He did notice, however, that something was written on the steamy mirror. The words said "IT'S ME!". That's Totally not creepy as fuck!, Benji thought to himself and shuttered. He finished showering, got out and dried himself off. Benji then brushed his teeth quickly and got dressed as well. He made himself a nice cup of coffee with his Nespresso machine, finally got into his car, and drove off to the pizzeria.
11:30 PM
Benji parked in the lot of the pizzeria thirty minutes before his shift. He drank the rest of his coffee quickly, got out of his car, and walked into the building. Benji noticed that the cleaning crew was finishing up their routine for cleaning up the place. He also saw that hostess from earlier as well.
"Hey you." Benji smiled as he walked over to the hostess.
"You got the job?" the hostess smirked and raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I got it on the spot", Benji responded with a grin.
"I think you'll do fine", the hostess smiled and looked down at her phone for a second.
"I didn't get your name, mine is -", the midnight chime rang throughout the pizzeria, interrupting Benji.
"I gotta go!", the hostess quickly got up and started leaving the building quickly, "Good luck!"
Benji looked around the now somewhat empty pizzeria. He just shrugged and walked quickly to the office. Benji set down his bag onto the desk, and then sat down onto the chair.
"Let the first night begin", Benji muttered to himself.
12 AM
BBRRRIINNGG!
As Benji opened his phone, the office phone startled him a bit. He put his own down to answer it.
Hello? Hello hello?
Wait, is this part of the training? I don't remember being told that there would be a phone call. Benji thought to himself while being a little nervous about it.
Uh, I wanted to record a message for you, to help you get settled in on your first night. Um, I actually worked in that office before you, I'm finishing up my last week now as a matter of fact. So, I know it can be a bit overwhelming, but I'm here to tell you there's nothing to worry about, Uh, you'll do fine. So, let's just focus on getting you through your first week, okay?
"That's good I have training tapes to help me throughout my first week!", Benji smiled to himself, being a little naïve.
Uh, let's see, first there's an introductory greeting from the company, that I'm supposed to read. Uh, it's kind of a legal thing, you know. Um, "Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a magical place for kids and grown-ups alike, where fantasy and fun come to life. Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or person. Upon discovering that damage or death has occurred, a missing person report will be filed within 90 days, or as soon property and premises have been thoroughly cleaned and bleached, and the carpets have been replaced." Blah blah blah. Now that might sound bad, I know. But, there's really nothing to worry about.
"Excuse me, but what the actual fuck?!" Benji shouted in terror even though he was the only one in the office, "What do you mean there's nothing to worry about?!" Benji gulped and started regretting being here internally.
Uh, the animatronic characters here, do get a bit quirky at night, but do I blame them? No. If I were forced to sing those same stupid songs for twenty years and I never got a bath? I'd probably be a bit irritable at night too. So, remember, these characters hold a special place in the hearts of children and we need to show them a little respect, right? Okay.
Benji just nodded in agreement with the statement made.
So, just be aware, the characters do tend to wander a bit. Uh, they're left in some kind of free roaming mode at night, uh, something about their servos locking up if they get turned off for too long? Uh, they used to be allowed to walk around during the day too, but then there was The Bite of '87. Yeah. I-It's amazing that the human body can live without the frontal lobe, you know?
"Jesus fucking Christ?! How could anyone survive that?! How could that even happen to someone at a children's establishment in the first place?!" Benji exasperated to himself in disbelief.
Uh, now concerning your safety. The only real risk to you as a night watchman here, if any, is the fact that these characters, uh, if they happen to see you after hours probably won't recognize you as a person. They'll pr-They'll most likely see you as a metal endoskeleton without its costume on. Now, since that's against the rules here at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, they'll probably try to…forcefully stuff you inside a Freddy Fazbear suit. Um, now, that wouldn't be so bad, if the suits themselves weren't filled with crossbeams, wires, and animatronic devices. Especially around the facial area. So you could imagine how having your head forcefully pressed inside one of those could cause a bit of discomfort, and death. Uh, the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth when they pop out the front of the mask. Heh. Yeah, they don't tell you these things when you sign up.
"Of course they wouldn't mention that when you're in the interview", Benji muttered to himself, "I wouldn't want to be stuffed into those empty suits anyway"
But hey, first day should be a breeze. I'll chat with you tomorrow. Uh, check those cameras, and remember to close the doors only if absolutely necessary. Gotta conserve power. Alright, good night.
The tape recording ended, and it left Benji in the office baffled. He couldn't believe what he had heard come from that mysterious voice's mouth!
1 AM
Benji was bored out of his mind! Nothing had moved for the past hour on the feed of each camera on the tablet. He left the camera to the stage on and started scrolling through on his social media feeds. He saw that there was a very weird tribute to the pizzeria. Weirdos, Benji thought to himself with annoyance. He kept scrolling away and he stumbled upon a new post from Aurelia. It looked like she was on vacation in Aruba with their other friends. Benji wished that he could've been there with them. He was too occupied to notice the camera on the tablet go to static. Benji put down his phone to pick up the tablet, that's when he realized too late that Bonnie was missing from the stage!
"No, no, no no, no! Where could he have gone?!" Benji frantically muttered to himself.
Benji quickly flipped through all of the cameras to find Bonnie on the backstage cam. It showed a very scary posture and look to the bunny animatronic while he was backstage. Bonnie was also looking directly into the camera!
"That's totally not creepy", Benji said to himself, a bit creeped out by Bonnie.
3 AM
For the past two hours, Benji had been trying to keep both the bunny and chicken animatronics out of the office he was in. Yes, Chica had also moved after Bonnie was noticed backstage. She was mostly in the kitchen, though. Benji heard her moving the pots and pans around most of the time. He wasn't worried about her, however, Bonnie was trying his best to get in. It was starting to annoy Benji, like a lot.
"Why can't you just..like..not try to kill me?!" Benji shouted with annoyance as he closed the left door on Bonnie for the fifth time already.
He heard the animatronic walk away after a couple of minutes of it standing in front of the door. Benji opened the left door again and checked the battery amount on the tablet. 82 percent?! Benji felt like he was doing okay with the conserving the power part, but he was a bit worried. He still had like three hours left of his shift.
"I really hope nothing can go more wrong than before", Benji muttered to himself as he was about to press the east hallway light button.
As he pressed the button, the light turned on, and it luminated Chica standing in front of the window! Benji yelped like a scared dog, and quickly pushed the door button.
5 AM
Benji had almost an hour left of his shift and he only had 47 percent of battery for the power left. It has been the constant trying to keep Bonnie and Chica out of the office while checking the cameras. It was getting so close to the end of his shift, but Benji wasn't going to loosen his grip on his streak of not letting the two animatronics into the office now.
"That Bonnie is so annoying! Why can't he be like Chica and do something productive?", Benji muttered to himself in annoyance while shutting the door on Bonnie, yet again.
He heard Bonnie walk away again and he opened the left door. Benji was about to check the cameras again, he noticed the battery percentage. It was at five percent!
"Shit, shit, shit!", Benji started becoming frantic and worried about the power.
Then, out of nowhere, the power to the pizzeria went out! Benji's eyes widened in horror as he heard footsteps coming down the west hallway. As they approached, his heart was pounding so loud and fast. When they were so close, he heard the bells.
6 AM
It was finally 6 AM! The lights came back on. Benji not only heard the bells, he also heard children cheering for his survival?
"Weird..", Benji said to himself with caution in his voice.
Benji grabbed his bag, phone, and left the office. As he was walking out of the pizzeria, he noticed that all of the animatronics were in their respective places. He just wanted to go home and get some needed sleep. Benji locked the doors, got into his car, and drove out of the parking lot.
On the way home, he was having trouble keeping his eyes open on the road. However, Benji did manage to get to his house safely without crashing his car.
Benji changed out of his clothes into a pair of pajamas and then put his clothes he wore during his shift into the washer. When he was ready to actually sleep, he went upstairs to the bedroom and laid down onto his bed. Benji slowly closed his eyes, but as he was doing so, he heard the creepy child laughter that he heard yesterday morning! Benji shot up quickly and looked around. There was nothing there in his own room with him, though.
"Gosh, I'm so tired. I'm literally hallucinating things", Benji muttered sleepily.
Benji lied back down and gently drifted back to sleep. He needed it to be prepared for his shift later tonight.
