Destiny's POV
As we headed to our next location, the sun was just about to hit its high point in the sky. Our next stop was a tv star by the name of Flash the Wonder Dog. Now I'd heard of this guy a few times, even seeing some of the episodes of his series on the tv at the orphanage. But…meh, he just didn't really do it for me. I especially wasn't a huge fan of his cringy 'signature howl', whoever came up with that idea. Now that being said, that didn't mean I wasn't a fan of him as a dog, cause don't get me wrong, I love dogs, nothing against Toby and Tom of course. But Flash just looked so cute and huggable when he wasn't in costume. He might not be a good talent on tv in my opinion, but he's definitely a friendly looking dog, that's for sure. Again, no disrespect towards Toby or Tom in any way. Maybe I'll have the opportunity to have a good snuggle session with Flash.
"Flash, meet Destiny." Chip said, introducing me to the dog. "Nice to meet you Flash." I said, while also wanting to be nice to him. Still, I could cuddle him for hours. The tv star stared at me with both shock and amazement written all over his face. "Incredible! A small human that can understand me?" Oh wait, what's this, I mentally joked. We followed him into the studio, though Chip had the other rangers stop. When asked why by me and Flash, the chipmunk said that he was going to discuss something with the others. He didn't say what it was about, but we took him at his word.
Welcoming me into his quarters, the canine showed me everything. Oh, and did I mention he wasn't in costume? I mean hey, better to look like an actual relatable dog, right? In any case, I found a chair I could easily climb in, while Flash went and laid down in his doggie bed. Oh who am I kidding? Carefully making my way down the chair, I joined the cute canine.
"Destiny, I can't help but ask…"
"You don't have to Flash. I'll tell you." Ok. I'll admit, I only told him half of what happened. The thought of telling Flash about my parents dying or the orphanage was too painful to tell right now. So, I told him Chip's version, in my own words of course. It went like you'd expect. The dog was fascinated by my-uh half story, but then he told me his. About how he was framed by wait for it…Fat Cat. I know who saw that one coming?
Anyway, that crime boss and his goons dressed up as the tv star and went around town terrorizing the civilians while also tricking them into thinking it was Flash who was doing all crime. Now call me crazy, but what exactly was the overall IQ of the people who witnessed Fat Cat and his gang? Probably below room temperature if I had to guess. Flash and I conversed for another ten to fifteen minutes before the rangers returned to the room. Chip asked me to come down so he could talk to me. Flash nodded at me and I hoped off from the chair.
We said our goodbyes, then I followed the rangers to the plane. But they stopped before we all got in. Chip turned to me. He looked like he was trying not to freak out or something. "Destiny, um…we've been going back and forth on this question for a while now, but…ok." I waited for the chipmunk's question, and I got one.
"How would you like to be a Rescue Ranger?"
Did ya miss me? I know you missed me. And yeah I know, this chapter isn't all that long but don't you worry. The next few chapters will be longer, I promise. Anyways, in case your wondering where I've been, I recently got rehired for a job I held last year and have been busy with work. Also, I've started on some more Fanfictions which is why I haven't visited this story in months. I just have so many stories I want to do. Another thing I'd like to add is that I will also be updating my Lion Guard story for you all.
That's all for now.
Thank You and God Bless.
W Langley
