Chapter Thirteen
-"After everyone was thru eating. Steve stood up with his arms around Catherine. Besides getting married to this beautiful woman in a couple of months, we found out we were going to have our very own sailor, a boy, in about seven months. We just found out about it two weeks ago. Hence the big goofy smile on me the other day. I couldn't be happier and at peace. I am marrying the love of my life, and I am going to be a Dad. Thank you Catherine, for loving me and giving me the greatest job I ever wanted.
-"Everyone shouted Woohoo and Gracie ran toward them and hugged them. I can't wait to see my baby cousin, and you are going to be great parents. I love you both. We love you too. Everyone took turns; Kono said I can't wait to throw you a baby shower and spoil my nephew. I am going to start shopping now. Finally, it was Danny's turn; who would have thought Super Seal was going to be a Dad? We are calling him Baby Seal, so you can refer to our boy by that name until he is born. Of course, you did. I am so happy for you both. He wanted to ask them if they planned but thought better since he was still trying to get back into her good graces. Lou and Chin also hugged and said congratulations.
-" After the party breaks up, Danny asks Lou if he wants to go to the bar and hang out for a while. Sure, man, I'm always down for some more beers. Earlier, before the Team came over, they had Facetime Mary and her parents, and they were over the moon. Catherine's Mom said she was going to spoil him rotten, and there was nothing they could do about it. Catherine said me and baby seal are tired, so I am going to take a nap. You go ahead, my Baby Mama, with a smirk. I put away the rest of the food. The team helped clear most of it up but left some out if they wanted to eat later.
-" Meanwhile, at the bar, Lou, don't get me wrong, but don't you think she got pregnant fast? Do you think that why Steve asked her to marry her, they knew she was pregnant? Not knowing they didn't know about the baby until after the proposal. Well that ran thru my mind for about a minute. But we both know they truly love one another. She was at sea and never cheated on him, nor did he even look at another woman. You weren't around, but when he first came to the island, all the drop-dead women would throw themself at him. He never paid them any attention. I asked him one time Man, what's wrong with you? All these hot ladies and you don't give them the time of day. He just has this big, goofy smile on his face. Then, one Saturday, we get called in to work. He has a pep in his step and is smiling all goofy all day. Later on, I found out he had a lady friend named Catherine. She was at sea but was on shore leave. Lou said they had been together that long. Yes, they have. I am surprised they didn't get married sooner. Well, our boy had commitment and mommy issues. They both laughed. But Catherine was there for him and changed him to being human. It doesn't help that they are both alike. I nickname her Rambonette. Man, I should have known there was a reason she left. She was my friend and co-worker. She helped me with Grace. It's just that I think both of us hated how her leaving was so devasting to Steve. Yeah, he didn't hang out with the Team anymore. He was doing risky stuff on the job more than ever. He was a bear to work with. At the time, I thought he was better off with her and he needed to move on. We were wrong. We are happy for them and we learned our lesson about getting into his business. Cheers to that and they went on about how it was going to be fun to see Steve changing diapers. They didn't know Lynn was in the booth behind them with her back to them, and she heard everything and was smiling an evil smile. In her mind, Steve only asked her to marry him because she was pregnant, and that was the reason he left her. She knew how badly he wanted to be a Father, but not with her.
-"Lynn was thinking about how she could use this information. She needs to make Catherine think this is how Steve truly feels and leave him. She won't stand for him lying to her. She needs to put one last plan in the work that will truly make them break up. She called Melissa because she will still need her to work on Danny. She doesn't care if it will destroy Steve and Danny's relationship
-"She meets Melissa the next day, and they brainstorm. I am with you. I bet she tricked Steve, and that baby is probably not his. He was just being ugly to you because he didn't want his child to be raised without him and doing it out of obligation. I know he said it was over but you all did sleep together, and he apologized about the ring. He wouldn't have done that if he didn't like you, so what do we do? We need to make her think Steve thinks those things about the baby and her. We need to get it on tape. Danny & Lou on tape telling Steve that he needs to make sure the baby is his, and that is why he asks her to marry him. Also, he really wants to be with Lynn.
-"Then we will edit the tape to make it seem like Steve agrees with them. We need to do this right. I don't think Lou and Danny will agree to be a part of this. So we need to find a way to trick all three and get it on tape; I know I can get Danny & Lou to talk to Steve about it without them actually saying bad things. Get Danny to invite Steve over to your place; you hide the recording. I have a technical friend who is good at doctoring tapes, so I will get him to edit to make it sound like Danny, Lou, and Steve agree about the baby and marriage. I will send the recording to her new job anonymously. How do you know where she works? I might have been following her around towns in different rental cars. Damn Lynn, you are crazy. She will leave Steve for sure. By the time the baby is born, he will be so pissed that all he will want is his son and try to get custody. Yeah, yeah this should work.
