This chapter takes place after chapter 28
It had been a few days since sour bill's forces had left the city, and the royals and mayors were working on rebuilding. While vanellope and Ralph worked hard helping the citizens of district 4, the preschool characters, Taffyta was having a fundraiser in the parking lot of Gazpachos, the local grocery store. Candlehead had finally arrived at the parking lot to see citizens smashing an expensive car and some light cycles for a fee, with Taffyta collecting the money they were gonna need to rebuild the neighborhood.
"You were right Candlehead, this was a great idea to raise money to rebuild the neighborhood" said Taffyta
"Uh, Taffy, small problem, that's the wrong car and those are the wrong light cycles" said Candlehead
"Wait, what?" Taffyta asked
Candlehead pointed to another car and some dirty light cycles a few parking spaces down
"That Ferrari there and those cycles and speeders you were supposed to smash" said Candlehead
"Then whose car and bikes are these?!" Taffyta asked
"MY CAR!" Vanellope shouted
"MY BIKE!" Her kids shouted
The crowd screamed and ran away in panic upon seeing what crime they just commited to their rulers. Vanellope nearly dropped her grocery bags seeing her wrecked car. Lucy used her powers to hold down Candlehead and Taffyta.
"What the hell were you thinking? You know how hard it is to get these light cycles to work on this planet?" Lucy asked
"I had nothing to do with this" said Candlehead
"Oh really? I saw you hanging up the flyers. As brilliant as an idea this is, smashing my car is not the way to go" said Vanellope
"Well, we need to rebuild the neighborhood somehow, daddy can't fix everything on his own" said Taffyta
"I know. And I leave all that stuff to mayors like you. I have my own problems to deal with, like helping the preschool characters in district 4, who suffered the most out of those riots" said Vanellope
"Uh Vanellope, if I may volunteer my services, I might be able to help, and it'll look good for your image. Ever thought of some group therapy sessions?" Candlehead asked
"Why would anyone want my family's help with therapy? Need I remind you half the city thinks Lucy's a psychopath? No offense Lucy" said Vanellope
"I'm sure they'd love to talk to their ruler. I can even find a volunteer" said Candlehead
"Well, we're open to suggestions. We still need to think of what to do with the old imperial academy" said Kevin
"Great, give me 24 hours and I'll find a volunteer" said Candlehead
The next day, Candlehead stood in front of vanellope with a blue and orange brown dog.
"Here they are, as promised, our first volunteers, Bluey and Bingo" said Candlehead
"I remember them, my kids loved their show. Nice volunteers" said Vanellope
"So you're gonna help us your majesty?" Bluey asked
"My whole family will, but I can't just yet, I need to make a trip to your neighborhood to see how I can help you better. Kids, come down here please, you too Ralph" Vanellope shouted
The twins and Ralph came down the stairs and were surprised at their guests.
"Is that who I think that is?" Kevin asked
"Yes Kevin, it's Bluey and Bingo from district 4" said Vanellope
"Wow, we used to watch her show all the time when we were younger. Because of you Kevin and I got along pretty well as siblings. Didnt know you had a game, but I guess you did if you're here. Was it any good?" Lucy asked
"If it was good, we wouldn't be here" said Bluey
"Fair point. Now I have a question, what are you 2 doing here?" Kevin asked
"We need help recovering from the skeleton men" said Bingo
"Skeleton men?" Kevin asked
"She must mean the stormtroopers. They did suffer under the empire. I'm about to head over to see what can be done with the academy, your father is already there, and you 2 and Ralph are simply gonna talk to these 2 and help them any way you see fit" said Vanellope before she ran off
The twins and Ralph took the 2 dogs to another room and had them sit
"You're really tall, king Ralph, and your hands are big" said Bluey
"You're also old and smell like ham"
"Wow, I just met these 2 and I already feel sad" said Ralph
"So I'm looking at this paperwork our dad left, you 2 were affected by the riots, and your dad is in a hospital getting treated for rehabilitation from a blaster wound" said Kevin
"The skeleton men were mean" said Bingo
"Their triangle and noise things blocked our sunsets" said Bluey
"Before we do anything, I need to understand what happened and what you saw. I have an invention just for this, it'll let me see your memories. Helped us with our friend Sophie"
A couple battle droids placed a couple helmets on their heads and connected them to a tv
"Don't worry, this won't hurt at all" said Lucy
The droids switched on the helmets and set them to a certain time. On the tv screen was a memory of something the 2 saw. It was a short month ago, in front of the old imperial academy in district 4. Other preschool characters were protesting against the empire. Troopers with riot shields guarded the entrance.
"You skeleton people are a bunch of meanies" Bluey shouted
"Don't threaten them" her dad warned
"Back off Bluey, we have no interest in consorting with the likes of you" shouted a shock trooper
"Daddy, I'm scared"
"Hang on kids, I'm trying to get us away back to the car"
Suddenly without warning, the other preschool characters started to get violent, bashing against the riot shields.
"HOLD THE LINE! HOLD THE LINE!" An officer shouted
The troopers began smacking and electrocuting anyone they could, and in response, rocks were thrown
"Move it, get out of my way, I got children here" their dad shouted
"OPEN FIRE! FIRE AT WILL!"
The stormtroopers in the academy began firing into the crowd, which led to a lot of screaming and panicking. Some of the characters tried to fight back of course, but they weren't a match for the imperials. Suddenly, their dad was shot in the shoulder, causing him to fall and scream in pain.
"Daddy" bluey cried
"Get back, all of you" a scout trooper shouted
Bingo began barking at the trooper angrily, and she was met with a slap from his electrobaton, shocking her and making her whimper.
"Lousy traitors"
The trooper smacked bluey in the head next and shocked her too. It was then that Lucy had had enough and shut the helmets off.
"Grandpa, Kevin, get out, I can take it from here" said Lucy
"But sis-
"I said get out, I know what I'm doing" said Lucy
After pushing Kevin and Ralph out of the room, Lucy faced the 2.
"Girls, I'm so sorry you had to deal with what the empire did to you. If you wanna hate me and yell at me, even punch me, go ahead. It's my fault the empire got so violent"
"That can't be true. Why would the skeleton men hate you?"
"Well, this may be hard to believe, but I had a really rough time growing up and these last couple years haven't been great. I wrote a book with my brother describing my hardships. It sold so well, but it made people really angry at the empire and what they did to me. That's why that riot happened. That's why there was so much destruction. It hurt me too. I'm not even that old and I had depression, I felt nothing. I didn't want to exist. I'm still recovering actually. So go ahead, let me have it" said Lucy
She closed her eyes and waited for them to get angry, but it never happened. Instead, bingo hugged her
"You don't seem that bad, queen Lucy"
"What happened wasn't your fault, the skeleton men started it. And I've heard you learned from your mistakes, whatever it is you did in your life" said Bluey
"I think your robots are funny" said Bingo
"Hey, we're not funny, we battle droids serve and protect our master"
"For the separatist alliance!"
Lucy gave that droid a glare
"What? We're not going by that name? It was you who chose to keep the symbol on the capital ships"
"What's a separatist?" Bingo asked
"Not important" said Lucy
"We heard you can do magic, is that true?" Bluey asked
Lucy closed her eyes and stretched her arms out at the 2, lifting them up in the air with the force before putting them down gently. This made the girls laugh.
"How do you do that?" Bluey asked
"I have Jedi powers. An evil man named emperor Palpatine gave me these powers. He wanted me to do horrible things. But Palpatine is gone now and he's not coming back, pretty sure I took care of that part. I don't know if I can ever really make you get over what the empire did to you, but know this, I too have suffered from them. They overthrew me, beat me, and they gave me this"
Lucy took her jacket off and lifted her shirt to show her back, which had a fist sized red spot
"What's that red spot?" Bluey asked
"A stormtrooper shot me in the back a couple years back. I couldn't get medical attention in time, was wanted for a crime I didn't commit. While I don't think I'll ever get over what they did to me, I'm a different girl than I was then. And I'll do whatever I can to make you girls happy" said Lucy
"Could you play with us? We are here til our mum picks us up at 3" said Bluey
"Play? Yeah, we can do that. In fact I know something we can do. And it'll help you get over your thing with the empire maybe" said Lucy "Droids, get the training center ready, simulation 14, get the equipment ready, low level kid friendly setting"
"Roger Roger"
"Who's Roger?" Bingo asked
"I don't know" said Lucy
"What are we playing?" Bluey asked
"Think of it like laser tag, with a twist. Don't worry nothing will harm you" said Lucy "But first, how about some snacks?"
"Hooray" Bluey and bingo shouted
