Episode 13: Raid on the Factory (1)
"So, you want me to sneak back in the factory?" Steamax reiterated.
"Right, but you won't be going in alone this time. K-Sha will be sneaking in another entrance," Noire elaborated. "The plan is for one of you to find and trip the fire alarm to force the innocent workers to evacuate. Then we'll move in and take out AB and Kyokoku."
"We're sending in both of you from opposite directions in case AB ends up finding one of you," Uni added. "But even she can't be in two places at once..."
"I think he probably had that figured out already, Uni," Noire sighed.
"So who's coming with you and Uni?" K-Sha asked. "Those nuns and their dog, I'm guessing?"
"Right, we'll be going in pairs- Me and Uni, Ciel and Hackmon, and Noir and Blanc. Trying to take these vampires one-on-one would be a really bad idea, but hopefully three pairs against the two of them will be enough. Uni and I will go in first to draw their attention, since they'll be expecting us, and the others will follow after."
"Not a bad plan," Steamax nodded. "But if this AB can throw around lightning bolts, it would be a bad idea to approach from the air, lest you get struck down right away..."
"Well, hopefully the fire alarm will distract them just long enough for me to get in sniping range," Uni said. "Then Noire can charge in and cut them down, and the Sistermons can clean up."
"Just don't forget, in every battle the enemy gets a vote," K-Sha cautioned. "We still don't know everything that AB is capable of, so we can't let our guard down..."
"I'm well aware of the risks, K-Sha. Just make sure you don't get in over your head, either!" Noire replied. "And that goes for Steamax as well! I don't want to be the one to have to tell Affimojas that his best friend is gone!"
"I have no desire for that either, believe me," Steamax concurred.
"And I'll hack the PA system to order the workers to evacuate if the fire alarm doesn't get the point across," Erika supplied, laptop in hand. "But are you sure it's a good idea to raid the factory in broad daylight? I don't think Myotismon is necessarily weakened in sunlight, though they do prefer the darkness..."
"We need every advantage we can get with these vampires," Noire countered. "Anyway, is everyone clear on their roles?" There were several answers in the affirmative. "All right, let's move out, everyone!"
So the group departed for the factory together...
*Vice President's Office, Paler Sunscreen*
"I still say we should dispose of our hostage, now that we've lost Miss Lisa," AB insisted.
"You're too short-sighted. As long as we have Vlad, the goddesses will have to tread carefully, because they will want to rescue him alive," Aviel Kyokoku counter-argued. "Black Heart may be a bit harsh, but she isn't that cold-hearted..."
"Speaking of which, there's also the fact that those so-called goddesses have learned of our existence far earlier than we would have liked," AB continued. "While I admit that I share some of the blame for allowing that Uni to spot me dining with Lisa, perhaps it might be a better idea to cut our losses and go underground-"
"Preposterous! You make it sound as if we have already lost!" Aviel cut her off. "I thought you were confident that you could take down both of them easily... or were you just bluffing?"
"No, I'm quite confident. The problem is what happens if the lower-level workers learn the truth," AB shook her head. "Once that happens, they'll all walk off the job and this business goes down..." she suddenly stopped and turned around, seemingly looking at the wall, or perhaps looking through it...
"Do you sense something?" Kyokoku asked in mild concern.
"It's the faux goddesses," AB confirmed. "But... they aren't closing on our position, it seems like they're staying in place..."
"Perhaps they are strategizing how best to enter this building to confront us?" Aviel guessed.
"Perhaps. Or... perhaps they intend to send in humans to infiltrate first, to cause a distraction to lower our guards," the blonde vampire mused.
"Then perhaps we should do a quick check of the factory, just in case," her partner said as he stood up from his desk.
"Agreed. We'll split up and check different floors," AB concurred. "I'll check the bottom floor first..."
*Ground Floor*
An NPC exited the bathroom, before doing a double-take upon seeing a box sitting down the hallway. "Is that a new delivery...? Odd... why drop it here?" Shrugging it off, he went on his way...
Hidden under said box, K-Sha let her breath out in a slow rush. (Okay, that was close... don't see a fire alarm here. See if I can sneak by- oops, someone's coming.) She remained still as AB appeared from around the corner, dressed in her security uniform, checking in the ladies' room... then she noticed the box.
"...Honestly, how stupid do you think I am?" the blonde sighed, snapping her fingers, causing the box to be engulfed in flames! But then K-Sha jumped out before she could get burned, her machine gun cocked and aimed in AB's face!
"Don't move or I'll shoot!" the graduate student growled. But AB suddenly flash-stepped forward, gripping the barrel, which was suddenly covered in ice! The vampire then broke the frozen barrel off, wrecking the weapon! In the next moment, K-Sha found herself shoved into the wall with AB's hand around her throat, hanging above the floor!
"The CPUs send a child after us? I'm giving serious thought to being insulted," AB half-snarked. "Just who are you?"
"C... Class of 2024, Lastation... Girl's School... valedictorian," K-Sha gasped out. "Student number- Agggghh!" she was cut off as AB slugged her in the stomach.
"I'm not in the mood for jokes," AB said dispassionately, holding up her free hand, her fingernails suddenly growing into sharp claws, causing K-Sha's eyes to go wide. "Perhaps you'll be a bit more willing to talk once I disembowel you...?"
*A few minutes earlier...*
On the Administrative Offices floor, Steamax was once again without his armor as he scoured the hallways looks for a fire alarm lever... (This must be an older building, newer ones would have the alarms right by the extinguishers...)
"What are you doing?" a voice spoke up, causing Steamax to nearly jump out of his skin, before turning to the source- none other than Ariel Kyokoku.
"Oh, Mr. Vice President!" Steamax babbled. "I'm afraid I got a little lost looking for the restroom..." (Just how did he spot me?)
"Is that so," the redheaded man sniffed- before suddenly flash-stepping forward and grabbing the cyborg by the throat! "Fool me once, shame on you. I checked the staff roster after Miss Paler's abduction, there was no one matching your description! So who you, really? An agent of the CPUs?"
But then, something suddenly flew out of the shadows and struck Kyokoku in the face, sending him into an abrupt coughing fit! "What the- (cough) garlic-?!" Then a claw on a line grabbed him by the leg, pulling his feet out from under him and dragging him along the floor, releasing Steamax in the process.
"Are you all right?" spoke a horned figure from the shadows.
"Ugh, thank you, Batman," Steamax grunted as he got back to his feet.
"Hurry and pull the fire alarm. I'll hold Kyokoku off for you," Batman said as he dashed down the hall in the direction the redhead had been dragged off.
"Right!" the ninja nodded as he ran off in the opposite direction, round ing a corner- only to stop in his tracks and turn around. "There you are!" he said in mild irritation, promptly pushing the fire lever in, then down... "There! And now..." He pulled out his armor morpher. "It's Ninja Time!" His familiar purple armor promptly digitized into existence, Steamax then heading back to help Batman...
*Back on the ground floor...*
AB had been just about to spill K-Sha's guts with her clawed hand when the klaxons began blaring. "What the-?!" she gasped, taking her attention off the schoolgirl for a moment- but that was all K-Sha needed.
"TRANSFORM!" the Gold Third member cried at the top of her lungs, promptly engulfed in golden light which repulsed the vampire, who staggered back, clutching at her hand... The light soon faded, revealing K-Sha with golden eyes, an eyepatch over her left eye and a black beret on her head, a large weapons apparatus materializing behind her as she stepped away from the wall. "Gold Form activated!" she declared, summoning two golden machine guns in her hands, which cocked of their own accord. "Now, let's try this again!"
"Shit-!" AB cried as K-Sha opened fire, retreating down the hallway, turning a few flips to try and make herself a harder target, though she was still grazed by several bullets, eventually managing to get around a corner. Before K-Sha could pursue, she heard the intercom click on...
"Attention, all personnel!" came the voice of Erika. "Please evacuate the building immediately! This is not a drill! I repeat, this is not a drill! Please evacuate via the nearest exit! Please remain calm and do not panic!"
K-Sha couldn't help but smirk as she went to pursue AB, albeit carefully, lest the vampire had some other trick up her sleeve... she slowly poked her head around the corner-
And quickly pulled back as a gout of flames erupted where her head had just been. Gritting her teeth, K-Sha pointed one of her machine guns around the corner blindly, depressing the trigger and hearing the familiar 'ratatatat' from several rounds being expended in rapid succession...
There was the sound of a crackle, a small lightning bolt hitting the gun and flowing into K-Sha's hand, causing her to cry out from the painful shock, nearly dropping her firearm. Pulling back, she laid her gun down so she could examine her hand... (It's just a minor burn. But I thought she could stop a car's engine with her electric attack...?) Either AB was more injured from her opening salvo than she'd believed, or that had been a warning shot...
(Fine, a tactical retreat, then.) Picking up her gun, K-Sha began to move in the opposite direction, keeping her ears open for any kind of pursuit... (I hope Noire gets here soon...)
*Outside...*
The evacuation had gone without a hitch, all the workers now gathered in the parking lot, many of them wondering just what was going on... then one of them gasped and pointed upward. "Look! It's Lady Black Heart and Black Sister!" Several coworkers followed his lead, and sure enough, the two goddesses were descending from the sky, Hudiemon flying beside them.
"I must ask you all to please stay calm!" Black Heart exclaimed with a tone of authority. "It was our friend's voice here that you heard over the intercom!"
"What's going on, Lady Black Heart?" one of the administrative staff shouted.
"We have good reason to believe that your new vice president is actually another vampire!" the CPU dropped the bombshell. Almost immediately there was a collective groan from the factory workers, beginning to gripe and complain...
(FWEEET!) Black Sister pinky-whistled to get everyone's attention. "Listen, what we need you to do right now is go home! We think your CEO is being held hostage, and we don't want any more casualties! So get in your cars and go home, please!" Despite their grumbling, the workers began to do as told, dispersing to their vehicles...
"Good job, Uni," Black Sister nodded in approval. "Hopefully the Sistermons and Hackmon have made their way inside by now..."
"And let's hope that Agent Duane, K-Sha and Mr. Steamax are okay..." Hudiemon said worriedly.
