The Black family estate was unusually quiet for a Saturday morning. Orion Black sat in his study, enjoying the rare moment of calm as he sipped his tea. The sun streamed through the tall windows, casting a warm glow on the rich woodwork that surrounded him. Outside, the birds sang, and the gentle breeze rustled the leaves, creating a soothing backdrop to his thoughts.
Orion's peace was soon interrupted by the sound of small feet pattering down the hallway. He glanced up just as the door burst open, revealing his 7-year-old son, Sirius, grinning from ear to ear.
"Dad! Dad!" Sirius called out, running up to him with boundless energy. "Come see what I found!"
Orion chuckled, setting his tea aside. "What is it, Sirius? Another one of your treasures?"
Sirius nodded enthusiastically. "You have to see it! It's in the garden!"
Curious, Orion stood up and followed his son through the house, out the back door, and into the lush garden. The air was filled with the scent of blooming flowers, and the morning sun made everything seem more vibrant. Harry was already outside, kneeling near a flower bed with a serene smile on his face.
"There you are," Orion greeted his husband warmly as he approached. "What's all the excitement about?"
Harry looked up at Orion, a knowing sparkle in his eyes. "Sirius found something interesting."
Orion raised an eyebrow as Sirius led him to a corner of the garden where a small wooden box was half-buried in the dirt. It looked old, with intricate carvings on the lid that had weathered with time. Sirius knelt down, brushing the dirt off with his hands.
"I found it while digging! Can we open it, Dad?" Sirius asked eagerly.
Orion exchanged a glance with Harry, who gave a small nod. With a smile, Orion crouched down beside Sirius. "Let's see what's inside."
Together, they carefully pried open the box. Inside, there was a soft velvet pouch, tied with a delicate ribbon. Orion gently took it out and untied the ribbon, revealing a small, polished stone with an inscription etched into it.
"What does it say?" Sirius asked, his voice full of wonder.
Orion read the inscription aloud. "The greatest treasures are those yet to come."
Harry, who had been watching quietly, suddenly placed a hand on Orion's shoulder. "Orion… I think it's time we told Sirius."
Orion looked at Harry, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Are you sure?"
Harry nodded, his eyes filled with warmth and joy. "Yes, it's the perfect moment."
Orion turned to Sirius, who was looking at his parents with wide, curious eyes. "Sirius," Orion began, "your papa and I have a little surprise for you."
Sirius's face lit up. "A surprise? What is it?"
Harry knelt down beside them, taking Sirius's hands in his. "You're going to be a big brother."
For a moment, Sirius just stared at them, processing the news. Then, his eyes grew even wider. "A baby? We're having a baby?"
Orion nodded, laughing softly as he saw the realization dawn on his son's face. "Yes, we are. In a few months, you'll have a little brother or sister to play with."
Sirius's excitement was strong. He jumped up, clapping his hands. "I'm going to be a big brother! I can help with the baby and teach them everything!"
Harry and Orion exchanged a loving glance, their hearts full as they watched Sirius dance around the garden in his excitement. They knew that this new chapter in their lives would bring its own challenges and joys, but in that moment, surrounded by the beauty of the garden and their son's infectious happiness, everything felt perfect.
Orion pulled Harry close, placing a gentle kiss on his forehead. "We're going to be parents again," he murmured, the weight of those words settling in with a mix of awe and contentment.
Harry smiled up at him, his hand resting on his stomach. "Yes, we are. And I wouldn't want to go through it with anyone else."
As they stood there together, watching Sirius run around in circles, imagining all the new adventures that awaited their growing family, they knew that this surprise was one they would cherish forever.
