Chapter Five
Giles hung up the phone and sighed heavily. Buffy looked at him expectantly from across his office table
"So? Did Andrew secure her?" Buffy asked
"Yes" Giles sighed again "They've got her sedated and on the jet"
"So what happens now?"
Giles lounged back in his chair and looked at her intensely "It seems Dana has a rather complex history… when she was ten years old her family was killed by a serial killer who kidnapped her, tortured her and drugged her"
"Oh my god" Buffy gasped
"When she was found she was catatonic, they sent her to a facility then Willow's spell ignited Slayer visions and the like. She became violent, Andrew and Angel managed to track her down but not before she cut off the hands of… one of Angel's friends" Giles explained
"So what do we do?" Buffy shifted uncomfortably in her seat
"I'm not sure we can help her Buffy" Giles said sadly
"We can't give up on her. She's ours" Buffy reminded him "Do you think we made a mistake?"
Giles frowned at her
"Making all the potentials, Slayers? There's gotta be more out there just like Dana. Girls who have had unspeakable evil experiences and we've given them a burden they can't change" she sighed
"Buffy we did what we had to, to win the war" said Giles
"But at what cost Giles?"

It had been a few days since Dana arrived at Giles' home. They had kept watch over her 24/7 for their protection just as much as hers. Giles had managed to get her into a facility close by that specialised in trauma, Dana was due to leave in a few hours.
Buffy opened the door and saw Dana lying on the bed with her back to her. "Hey Dana, I'm Buffy"
Dana looked her up and down and smirked "Slayer"
"Yeah I'm a Slayer" Buffy smiled
"Warrior" said Dana
"Yeah" Buffy nodded "We're going to get you some help"
Dana stared at her for a moment and tilted her head. "No, you don't. But thanks for saying it" Dana said softly "The vampire"
Buffy looked at her realising that Dana knew about Spike. "He was a good vampire"
"Good?" Dana sobbed
"Hey, no… it's okay" Buffy comforted her

Dana had been transported to a psychiatric facility a few hours ago. Buffy hadn't stopped thinking about the girl since, she could've been just like Dana had she not have stopped talking about things that go bump in the night.
Buffy made her way down into the kitchen and found Giles and Andrew mid argument.
"Is something wrong?" Buffy asked
"No, not as such" said Giles
"Nothing I can think of" said Andrew innocently
"What is going on?" Buffy pressed them
Andrew let out a small squeak before rushing out of the room. Buffy frowned as he brushed past her, she turned her attention back to Giles. Who looked a little skittish.
"Giles?" Buffy asked, raising her eyebrow
"We need to talk… it's about Angel" he sighed
"What about him?" She asked taking a seat at the kitchen table
"After Andrew's little mission in Los Angeles it seems our fears have been confirmed. Andrew said after witnessing operations there… Angel is in way over his head. I've consulted with sole seers in the coven and they've foreseen that he will sign something solidifying his place as Wolfram and Hart's CEO" Giles explained
"What does that mean?" She asked
"There's going to be a battle, it looks like he's going to be on the wrong side of it" said Giles
"Okay… but this isn't set in stone right? I mean he could change his mind or maybe that's just what the Senior Partners want us to think so we don't interfere?" She asked
"It's possible but Buffy, he was seen just a few days ago playing racket ball with The Devil himself… I don't think we should delude ourselves here" said Giles
"Right, okay…" Buffy thought for a moment "Okay, keep an eye on things in LA. If anything apocalypty happens let me know. But we steer clear of him and his friends until we know more"
"I think that's wise" said Giles
