However, it all becomes far more complicated when Chani is sent to find Muad'Dib. He could become either the Fremen's ruin or salvation. Chani must guide him on the right path.

After a Fremen raid on a Harkonnen Spice Harvester goes terribly wrong, a badly injured Paul Atreides is trapped in the open sands, along with Chani, Stilgar and their troop of Fedaykin. Unable to return to the safety of Sietch Tabr, they fight for their survival in the harsh desert of Arrakis, facing storms, sandworms, Harkonnens and other dangers on their journey.

Feyd-Rautha wins the dule instead of Paul Atreides, and the Emperor offers him Princess Irulan's hand in marriage.

The evening after the battle at Arrakeen, Paul Atreides feels the loss of his beloved Chani, and slips away to collect his thoughts, reflect on the terrible future that is yet to come and take the first step down the path that has been pre-determined for him.

This story has the recent Dune movies parts 1 and 2 in mind. Most of the writings that I'll do will be centered around Paul's and Chani's evolving relationship. There will be some deviations from the movie though. Its been awhile since I've done this, so I'm a bit rusty. The Dune movies got me charged back up to do some writing again. Lady Jessica worries her son may be more seriously injured than she thought. Set immediately after the ending of Part Two, this story deals with the aftermath of Paul's fulgurant ascension to power. But you soon realized that the dark world, Giedi Prime, doesn't scare you as much as you thought. You were starting to like it there. But you also have to learn to live with the downsides.

When Emperor Paul Atreides takes his family along to a meeting on Caladan, Chani is thrilled by the rain. Unfortunately, too much water on Caladan can be as deadly as too little on Arrakis.
