"Pocub, let's use Waterfall!" Terra called.
"Pocub!" Pocub had water erupt right under Slotter and knocked Slotter up into the air. After that, Pocub made its way up and tackled Slotter.
"Slotter, Aqua Jet!" Davis called. Slotter fought back as he surrounded himself with water and smashed into Pocub. The two of them were training hard with each other as the two water-types were battling as best they could.
Our heroes are continuing towards Gaios City for Davis' next gym battle. They might be in the middle or a rocky land, but that didn't stop them from their journey.
"Aqua Jet once more!" Davis called. Slotter went right at Pocub and tackled against Pocub. That caused Pocub to roll against the ground and suffered some damage. Could this battle be over?
"Pocub, are you okay?" Terra said. Pocub tried to get back up and wanted to keep battling, but then something happened. Pocub began to glow. It could only mean one thing for Pocub.

(Davis' voice): Working Day and Termight
"Pocub is actually evolving!" Terra said as she can't believe it. They all saw Pocub evolve. Pocub grew into a lean bear, but it needed to walk around on four legs. What's more is that had an ice-like structure covering its head like a helmet.
"Polear!"
"Amazing! Pocub evolved!" Cletus said.
"I'll say!" Imperialdramon said as they were all so happy for it. They were all so happy about this, but they missed something sneaking up on their spot.
"I can't believe it! One of my pokemon actually evolved! This is incredible!" Terra said as this was a big step for her as a trainer. "My Pocub is now a Polear!"
"So Pocub evolve into a Polear..." Davis said as he used his pokedex to learn more about it.
"Polear, the Polar Pokemon. A water and ice-type, and the evolve form of Pocub. Polear's lean body allows it to swim more easily through the water."
"You are amazing!" Terra said as she cuddled up with Polear. "I didn't think you would evolve so soon, but this is incredible!"
"Give yourself some credit, Terra." Cletus said. "You did a great job of raising Pocub that it gained the strength needed to reach the level to allow it to evolve. This is also a sign that you are shaping to become a great trainer." Terra is starting to feel good about herself in this matter. "Now, I say we put a hold on training and have nice meal to congratulate Pocub to become Polear." He was about to do just that, but then he noticed something was wrong. "Wait. Where's my backpack? Did one of you take it?"
"Your backpack? I didn't touch it." Terra said.
"Don't look at me. I didn't take it." Davis said. Cletus looked around for it, but didn't see it anywhere.
"I know I left it here. This is bad." Cletus said. "Not only was our food in there, but I had a few other supplies like my map and medicine. There's not a store or anything from miles, and we're still a long way from Gaios City. We can't make our way over this place without that stuff."
"So where did it go? Do you think someone snuck passed us and took it?" Terra said.
"A thief! Let's get it!" Davis said.
"And where do you think we should even go?" Terra said as she pointed out a problem.
"Polear! Polear!" Polear seems to have found something. They all looked and saw what appeared to be tracks in the ground.
"Polear found tracks! Nice going!" Terra said as she petted Polear.
"They look like they belong to a pokemon, but I'm not sure which one." Cletus said.
"This must belong to whoever took it. Let's go!" All of them followed Terra's lead and went to get back what belongs to them. They made their way through the area by following the tracks in the ground. Eventually they came across an entrance that went underground.
"Bingo. Looks like our thief thinks it can escape underground." Davis said.
"Hold up. Something else is coming." Imperialdramon claimed. They all took cover to hide from whatever was coming. They all saw that it was another pokemon. It was a bug with a brown head and mandibles with beady little eyes. It's body was beige with three brown circles on its back.
"Termight termight termingt."
"It's a Termight." Terra said.
"Termight?" Davis questioned. He pulled his pokedex to learn more about this strange pokemon.
"Termight, the Construction Pokemon. A bug and ground-type. Termight produce a special saliva that can become as hard as cement, making them most favorable in constructing buildings."
"That passage way must be the entrance to some sort of Termight colony." Cletus said. "One must have taken my bag for the food inside."
"What are we waiting for? Let's go in and get it." Davis said.
"Wait, Davis. I heard that a Termight colony is like a giant maze." Terra said. "If we don't know where we're going, we could get lost down there and might not find our way out."
"So, what do we do?" Davis questioned. They have to figure out a way how they can navigate through a maze, but Polear seems to have an idea as it was already heading to the entrance of the colony.
"Polear? What are you doing?" Terra questioned.
"Polear polear po."
"He's saying that he can track his way through there. He must have something that can help us." Imperialdramon said. They decided to trust Polear to take the lead on this. "I sure hope he knows what he's doing." That's what they're all hoping for. They all made their way down the passage with Polear taking the lead. Now that they're in the colony, they have to be ready for the Termight appearing and be sure not to get lost.
"Looks like there's a fork in the road." Cletus said. The path split in two different directions and they can't tell which one is the right one.
"Which way?" Davis questioned. Polear was the one taking the lead, so it had to decide. Terra noticed Polear used it's nose and was trying to sniff it's way around. It sniffed down both tunnels until it chose the one on the right and telling them to go down that way.
"Guys, I think Polear is using it's sense of smell to try and find our way." Terra said.
"Sense of smell? Polear must have one heck of a nose." Davis said.
"Still, we should find a way to mark where we've been so that we can find our way back, especially in a hurry. The Termight won't be happy that we've disturbed their home, so we need to be able to find an exit." Cletus said. Polear offered something that might be able to help. Polear blew out some cold air that froze a part of the ground.
"Am I seeing things or did Polear really just breathed air so cold that it froze the ground?" Davis said.
"That's another trait Polear are capable of doing, and it's brilliant. With that ice marking our routes, we'll be able to find out way back." Cletus said.
"Polear, you're so smart! Let's get going!" Terra said as it seemed like Polear had a plan the whole time. With Polear's smart thinking, they all tried to make their way through the tunnel. Polear really took charge in this one and they eventually found themselves in a large chamber of the colony.
"Check it out!" Imperialdramon said as they found a bunch of supplies. "Looks like the Termight have been busy."
"They must have been swiping stuff from trainers for a long time." Cletus said. "I think we should find my backpack, get what is ours, and then get out of here."
"Good idea." Davis said as they all hurried to search through the stuff to find what was theirs, and they had to do it before the Termight find out that they invaded their home.
"Here it is!" Cletus said as he found his backpack. "Now we can get out of here." He grabbed his bag, but there was a Termight attached to to it. "Uh... Hello." The Termight was clearly angry and Cletus knew they were in trouble. The Termight jumped off and got itself ready for a battle.
"Is that thing challenging us?" Davis said. "This should be easy. There's only one of them."
"Termight!" That Termight called for some help. A bunch of other Termight appeared into the chamber, and none of them seem happy that they were all in their home.
"They sure look mad." Davis said.
"Let's get out of here!" Cletus said. They attempted to run for it, but they saw there was some other Termight blocking the path they came from. "I guess they don't want us to leave, but I'm a little worried as to why they want us to stay."
"I guess we have no choice. Imperialdramon, get these guys out of the way with Dragon Pulse!" Davis said.
"My pleasure." Imperialdramon said as he gathered dragon power and tried to blast some Termight with it, but the Termight battled back as they all used Mud Bomb to block the attack before Imperialdramon's could connect. "That didn't work."
"Look out!" Terra called as some other Termight attacked by firing Mud Bombs at them, but they all managed to stay clear of them.
"Terra, Termight are part ground-types! Polear being an ice-type as well as a water-type will be a big help here!" Cletus said.
"I'm on it! Polear, Water Gun!" Terra said. Polear battled back as it shot out water and blasted a few of the Termight, but there were too many. Some of them attacked by using Rock Tomb and were planning to burry them in those rocks.
"I've got you!" Imperialdramon said as he jumped in the way and smashed against the rocks to protect the two of them.
"Terra, I don't think Water Gun is going to help us here. You need something with more power." Davis said.
"More power?" Terra questioned as she checked her pokedex to see if there was anything that could help. "Hey! It does seem like there are a couple new moves Polear learned after evolving! Polear, let's try your Icicle Spear!"
"Polear!" Polear formed icicles and shot all of them. They were hitting a bunch more targets with an attack like that. It appeared to be going good until one Termight tried using Dig and came up near Polear.
"Polear, let's use Slash!" Terra called. Polear battled back as it slashed his claws against the Termight.
"Krookodile, come out and help us out!" Cletus said as he joined in the battle.
"Krookodile!"
"Krookodile, take care of the Termight underground! Counter with your dig!" Cletus called. Krookodile started digging its way through the ground and was able to knock the Termight right out of the ground.
"Imperialdramon, Dragon Pulse!" Davis called.
"Polear, Water Gun!" Terra called. Both of their pokemon attacked and blasted some of the Termight. Polear added to it as he used Icicle Spear and attacked the Termight to create an opening for them. "Polear made a clearing for us! Let's go!" Once they all got an opening, they made their way straight for the exit, but the Termight were still coming after them.
"Those bugs are still coming after us!" Imperialdramon said.
"Don't look back! Just keep running! I don't want to know what a bunch of angry Termight will do to intruders!" Cletus said.
"I guess they really don't like having intruders in their home." Davis said. "Where is the exit in this place?!"
"Polear! Polear!"
"Polear knows the way! Let's go!" Terra said. Polear showed where the exit was, and the ice being used as markers really helped. The group made their way through the colony and soon could see the exit. "There it is! We're home free!" All of them made their way to exit and were able to get out without those Termight shouting at them.
"We're sorry we bothered you, but we just simply wanted the stuff you took from us back!" Cletus called.
"What are they saying?" Davis said.
"Don't come back, stay out, and a few things I'm not comfortable repeating." Imperialdramon said. They kept on running until they felt they were far enough away from the colony.
"Oh man. I almost can't believe we got out of that in one piece." Davis said.
"Yeah, and it looks like everything is still here. We were really lucky." Cletus said.
"It wasn't luck. It was all thanks to Polear." Terra said as she was so proud of her partner. She snuggled up with her partner as she loved what he did. "You were awesome today. Not only have you evolved, but you were such a big help. I know it all happened just today, but it's already hard to believe you were that same Pocub I got from Professor Sassafras. I'm so proud of you."
"Polear." Polear was feeling rather proud of itself.
"Polear really did step up and take charge." Cletus said. "Of course, it took confidence, and Polear got that from you."
"From me?" Terra questioned.
"You've always been confident in yourself, Terra. I don't think I've ever seen you unsure about anything you've done." Cletus said. "I think Polear learned to be confident in it's choices by watching you. Pokemon do tend to take up the traits from it's trainer. You should be proud of yourself as well."
"Cletus is right. You're making some pretty good steps in being a trainer." Davis said. Terra didn't think of it like that. She just thought Polear was doing great because it evolved, but Terra does deserve some of the credit in this.
"I guess we do make a great team, no question about it." Terra said with Polear in full agreement.
Pocub has now evolved into Polear, and has shown good leadership and maturity. Terra has clearly raised Polear well and has lived up to the responsibilities of being a trainer. These two are sure to have more opportunities to grow and become stronger, as the journey continues.
