The ship rocked in the waves. Anne kept to the bed in the cabin, while Frederick walked back and forth, even pouring himself a cup of tea. How he did not spill the tea, she could only wonder.
"Are you feeling well, Anne?" he asked.
"I'm fine, but I'm amazed that you are able to do so much in this weather."
"I've been through much worse waters. You'll become accustomed to it. If you're not feeling unwell, that is a good start."
Anne thought for a moment.
"No, indeed, I feel well enough. But for now, I will stay here."
