Summary: Two years after the events of MKX, Liu Kang and Kitana and the other Revenants leave the NetherRealm, and are offered a chance to start anew, by becoming family to Shinji Ikari.

Chapter Eleven
(Sindel's private training field a few years later)
In the high mountains of Sapporo Sindel and the newly changed Mileena were sitting underneath a rectangular gazebo outside was a vast outdoor platform floor used for sparring and demonstration. Both mother and daughter sat in regal chairs.
They came to observe the final stages of training of her recruits for Sindel's guard some showed incredible skill passing every test that was presented, and others did not. However, today, a different test was to occur for six exemplary women who showed impressive skills. Women who rose head and shoulders above the rest.
"Another batch of recruits, another set of washouts, this time around Mother," Mileena said.
"I know Mileena, but Krone has assured me that this latest set of women has proven promising." her mother replied
"To serve our family, they must be more than promising. We expect the best and.."
"We give the best." Mileena finished
"Correct, and I hope one of these women will at least present a challenge for you."
"A challenge? Mother, I have not slacked in my training. Kitana and Sheeva have made sure of that. My new abilities..."
"Require further study, after all, me waking up to you crawling up my ceiling like a spider one morning is rather startling."
Any further conversation was interrupted when Krone approached her employers with six women in tow.
The first was a young Japanese woman with brown eyes, and long black hair tied in a ponytail, she wore black hakama trousers with no shoes
The second was an older American woman with long brown hair tied in a single ponytail and was quite short, despite having the figure of a lightweight boxer, dressed in form-fitting hot shorts and a white muscular shirt
The third was a young Chinese woman with short brown hair, wearing a bright blue Chinese dress, with sandals.
The fourth was a Russian woman with long blonde hair dressed like a wrestler. (Rhea Ripley)
The fifth was a Hispanic woman dressed in black leather,
The last was a shapely, tan-skinned woman with green seaweed-like hair and green eyes with tribal markings on her bear arms, she wore a revealing leaf-style tribal dress that showed off her thick rear end.
Sindel narrowed her eyes at the last woman, getting an oddly familiar feeling about her. The six lined up in front of the mother-daughter pair, Krone stepped up addressing them
"Ms. Sindel, Ms. Mileena, these six women have excelled in every test we've presented. Showing skill, virtue, and strength." Krone explained
"Well met Krone, please introduce yourselves," Sindel said to the six women as they stepped onto the platform
"My name is Kazuma Aika, I'm a martial artist " the girl introduced bowing in respect
"My name is Tiffany Lord, former kickboxer." the American introduced
"I am Chuyan, a Chinese martial artist." the brown-haired woman introduced
"My name is Lola Ortiz Street brawler." the Hispanic introduced
"I am Sofia, from Mother Russia." a tall muscular redhead woman spoke in a thick Russian accent
"I am Laufeia Ashla, of the Aura tribe." the tan-skinned woman introduced
"Aura tribe?" Sindel whispered the familiar feeling increased
Pushing the feeling to the side, she nodded to Mileena, who stood up from her chair and addressed the four women, although she didn't look too impressed at what she was seeing from these six women.
"On behalf of the Edenia family, I bid you welcome and congratulations for making this far," Mileena said
"You six have been selected by our head of security detail Krone Briggs for this special test, where only one among you will be selected to become one of the elites."
"What is this test?" asked Aika
"The six of you will be competing against one another in a full-contact Kombat single-elimination battle royal. This test will determine who is the very best among you." Sindel answered rising from her chair
Sindel took the silence as a cue to continue.
"This exhibition will push you to and past your limits, the ultimate test of strength and if you don't think you're up to the task, you may depart with no dishonor. Now are there any questions?"
The six women shook their heads no
"Good, Krone you may begin."
"Yes, Ms. Edenia."
The six women followed the tall woman off the platform, sans Laufeia who remained behind facing the two Edenians.
"Is there something you wish to say Ms. Laufeia ?" Sindel inquired
"It will be an honor to be in your service," Laufeia stated with a bow
"Indeed, you said you're of the Aura tribe?" Mileena inquired
"Yes, a tribe native to Ashla forests in the Amazon," answered Laufeia
"It said that your people worship the goddess of life and virtue."
"Correct, the Goddess Cetrion has watched over my people for generations."
"Yes, well Ms. Ashla, we look forward to seeing what you can offer, that is if you can win your fight," Mileena said
"I will,"
Laufeia bowed again and rejoined the group.
"There's something odd about that girl."
"Indeed, we'll need to observe her very carefully."
Krone stepped up next to the Edenia matriarch, her ever-observing eyes focused on the women lined up, mentally making her selections.
"We will begin now, Tiffany Lord you will face, Akia Kazuma, step up to the deck please," said Krone
Tiffany punched her fist in her palm ready to fight, Aika silently stepped on without saying a word. Aika got into a fighting stance. Tiffany got into a kickboxing stance.
"Begin!" Krone shouted
(Round one, fight!)
Tiffany struck first with a roundhouse punch catching Aika by surprise, but she quickly countered with a swift wheel kick, to the face, Aika followed it up with palm strikes to the upper body of Tiffany who struck back with a flurry of wild punches and jabs pushing her opponent back.
"Not too bad, for an American," Aika commented with a smirk
"That's not even the half of what I got," replied Tiffany spitting out a little blood
Aika struck with a viper-like wheel kick, then hit some forward punches to the kickboxer's face, Tiffany ducked another punch and hit a forward jab punch to Aika's mid-section, the hit spinning heel kick knocking Aika down.

"Come on," taunted the American
Aika returned and dusted herself off, ready for round two.
(Round 2 fight!)
Aika went on the offensive again, hitting a high jump kick, then a double punch on Tiffany. Tiffany responded with multiple shots straight to the body, then a straight knee to the face. Aika blocked another punch and countered with a judo move bringing the kick boxer to the ground.
To Aika's surprise, Tiffany shot up hitting another body shot, but Aika hit a palm to the face but missed with another wheel kick, when Tiffany jumped in the air landing a swift kick of her own, then performed a cartwheel kick much to the shock of all who were watching, Sindel included but sans Mileena.
"She reminds me of Tanya. "Mileena thought remembering Tanya's flexibility
" This is a fight, not a damn circus act!" growled Aika Tiffany's unorthodox style caught her off guard
"I know, I just like showing off." the kickboxer replied
Aika and Tiffany charged at each other hitting each other with furious punches and kicks. Being evenly matched, both combatants gave one final charge, Aika hit another wheel kick stumbling Tiffany, but with one last gasp, Tiffany winded up her fist glowing and hit Aika square across the face knocking her to the ground and knocking her out.

"You put up a good fight," she commented to her downed opponent
"Impressive," Sindel remarked
"An excellent start," Mileena added
"Well done, Ms. Lord, Ms. Kazuma, " Krone commented
Both women nodded and stepped off the platform.
"I should have trained harder." Aika hissed being led to medical personnel
"Start the next match, Krone."
"Yes, Lola Ortiz, Sofia step to the platform!"
Both women did so, Sofia towered over Lola, who merely glared up at the woman in return. Sofia snorted unamusingly at her opponent.
"You will be broken, little mouse," Sofia said in a monotone voice
"You're going down Chica eh." Lola snarled

Sofia stood perfectly still waiting for her smaller opponent to make a move, sure enough, Lola took a boxer stance and charged at Sofia.
But the taller woman with impressive speed struck first with a shoulder tackle knocking Lola to the ground, much to her surprise, Lola sprung back up and went on the offensive to the upper body of Sofia, throwing brawler-style punches, barely fazing her larger opponent.
Sofia shoved her away with one arm, showcasing her strength, then followed it up with a clothesline knocking Lola down.
"Sofia uses her size and strength as an advantage, but it's apparent she lacks technique," Mileena observed.
"Agreed and Lola seems more of a headstrong, headfirst type. Rushing in without thinking." Sindel noted
Lola got right back up and went on the offensive using her speed hitting the lower body a lot quicker and more precise body shots, and maneuvering around Sofia, however, hit a swift knee to the face followed by an elbow, which Lola ducked and hit a leg sweep knocking down Sofia.
" Perhaps Ms. Ortiz does have a measure of technique." Krone mused
Lola kicked Sofia, right in the ribs, Sofia got back up visibly angered, and swung with left and right which Lola dodged, but couldn't avoid a spinning back fist, then a running front kick knocking her down and out.

Lola got back up and spit out a tooth, ready for round two
(Round 2 fight)
"I admire your determination little mouse," Sofia spoke
Lola's response was a right cross to the face this time with more ferocity, Sofia responded in kind with another spinning back fist, and the larger Russian blocked a few body shots and hit a roundhouse kick on Lola.
Lola charged and hit a jump kick stumbling Sofia. Lola was about to go for another jump kick only for Sofia to catch her midair and slam her down.
SLAM
Lola steadily rose to her feet, only for Sofia to kick her with a swift twist kick, knocking her out.

"You are beaten," Sofia stated
"Impressive display, perhaps Ms. Sofia could give Sheeva a run for her money. Don't you agree mother?" Mileena said as she watched the medics carry Lola off
"I think Sheeva would enjoy the challenge of fighting Sofia. It's been years since she's had one." Sindel replied
" Next up, Laufeia vs Chuyan!" Krone called
Both women stepped up to the platform, Chuyan did the traditional Chinese bow showing respect to her opponent, and Laufeia bowed in response.
"I am ready," Chuyan said getting into a stance
"May the spirits bless our battle," replied Laufeia
(Round one Fight!)
Laufeia dashed and hit a hard slap on Chuyan striking first, then a spin kick, to the body, Chuyan struck back with a hard front punch with her palms, striking like a viper, quickly and just as hard, Laufeia ducked another strike and hit a spin kick then grabbed her opponent and tossed her down to the ground.
"Pretty aggressive for a forest girl," Mileena said
Chuyan legged-tripped Laufeia bringing her face-first down to the ground, and hit a kick to the back of the head
Chuyan jumped up and hit a shadow kick, Laufeia blocked a feint punch, only for Chuyan hit a palm thrust to the chin with her left hand.
"Gah!" Laufeia grunted feeling her jaw crack
"Ms. Chuyan is quite the crafty one," Sindel remarked
Laufeia shook it off and hit a straight back kick, then a double palm strike of her own sending the Chinese woman back a few feet. Chuyan charged for a straight double kick, but Laufeia saw it coming, catching Chuyan's leg, and flipping her over, only for the Chinese woman to land flawlessly on her feet. Laufeia hit a heavy roundhouse kick, then struck a high jump axe kick, bringing Chunyan down.

Chunyan got up and dusted herself off ready for the next round.
(Round two fight)
Chuyan struck first, this time adding more ferocity and quickness to her palm punches, hitting Laufeia in the face in a cartwheel motion, and lower abdomen, then followed it up knife hand chops and a swift knee to the face.
"Miss Chuyan seems to have woken up," Krone said
Laufeia ducked a kick and hit an uppercut, then a front punch to the face. Chuyan shot back with a back chop then a straight kick driving her forest opponent to the ground. The forest girl back rolled through Chuyan's strike and hit a kick to the back, then a double leg sweep, making the Chinese woman fall face-first into the ground.
But to the surprise of Laufeia and the other spectators, Chuyan balanced herself perfectly on both hands and hit a scorpion kick taking Laufeia off balance. Chuyan hopped right back and struck with multiple palm strikes, then a heavy somersault kick knocked down Laufeia.

"Have you had enough?" asked Chuyan watching her opponent struggle to get up after that onslaught.
Laufeia steadily got back to her feet a bit bloodied but not beaten.
"Spirits guide me!" Laufeia declared
(Final round, Fight!)
Laufeia and Chuyan squared up once more, Chuyan struck first with her palm punch which Laufeia avoided moving side to side, and Laufeia countered back with a spin kick and then a quick knee to the face.
Chuyan hit back with a double palm strike and then, two straight punches, only for Laufeia to counter with a straight punch and roundhouse kick to boot, Chuyan answered back with another uppercut and back heel kick combo.
"Impressive, Ms. Chuyan, might prove a worthwhile opponent for you my daughters," Sindel said
"Let's see if this girl proves worth my time Mother," Mileena added
Chuyan's combo caught, Laufeia by surprise, but she wouldn't be denied. Laufeia jumped and hit Chuyan with both arms bringing her down, Chuyan got up and struck hard with a left palm punch, Laufeia countered back with savage strike punches to the face then hit a cartwheel tumble kick.
Chuyan charged forth one last time, missing with a sling blade (sleeper takedown slam), Laufeia countered with a leaping axe kick, bringing down Chuyan for the final time.

"Take heart, Ms. Chuyan, you fought well," Laufeia said
"Spectacular performance, both of you." Sindel praised rising from her seat and clapping at the two fighters
"Yes, most impressive," Mileena remarked
"The final competitors are Tiffany Lords, Sofia, and Laufeia Ashla, you three will face off in a three-way Kombat." Krone stated from her place "The rules are simple, first woman to gain a knockout, a ring out or submission will be the winner."
Laufeia stared at her opponents, as they stared back at her. Only one of them can win. Sindel rose from her chair.
"I expect to see you all at this evening's banquet we are adjured until first light, my servants will show you to your quarters and my medical staff will tend to your injuries. We are adjured until the morning." Sindel said departing with her daughter in tow
Laufeia stepped off the platform, exhausted from her grueling match. It was then that Sofia stepped up her form towering over Laufeia. Then Tiffany stepped to the side as they looked at the blonde American.
"Well ladies, it is down to us: a giant, a forest girl, and a boxer. You can't write a stranger story than that. (I dare someone to try) " Tiffany said
"Indeed," Sofia replied not taking her eyes off Laufeia
While this was going on, Chuyan, disheartened by her defeat exited off the other side of the platform, tired and groggy, but was stopped by Krone much to her surprise.
"You fought well today Ms. Chuyan, I was very impressed, Ms. Edenia was as well," Krone said
"Not an easy feat, to impress mother and daughter both who are highly skilled fighters in their own right. If I may ask, who trained you?"
"I was first trained by my father, then by master Sogetsu," answered Chuyan
"They must have been good. With that said, I would like to make you an offer." the taller woman said surprising Chuyan.
"Before you say anything, I am NOT making this offer out of pity. A martial artist of your caliber is above that. You don't need it. However, others may need you."
"Go on," Chuyan said intrigued
"It's like this." Krone began
(Elsewhere)
Somewhere in the Middle East, Iran, in the dark of the night. A high-tech aircraft carrier flew over the mountains of Yemen heading towards a hidden weapons facility housed in an abandoned power plant. Inside, a massive load of weapons was being developed. In addition to guns and bazookas, cutting-edge cybernetics are being assorted in bins, big and small, on conveyor lines.
Above the floor, stood a lean muscular man dressed in a silk dress shirt and black slacks, he had short black hair, spiked up, with a goatee, and his steely blue eyes looked over the production floor watching everything run smoothly.
"Mr. Jarek." a man spoke getting his attention
"She's awake sir."
"Good, prepare to move everything out we're going to have company real soon," he said walking off
"Yes sir."
Jarek walked down the stairs past the production floor, towards the further side of the building, to an old floor-level office, walking past the two men guarding the door Jarek, walked in on a woman dressed in military combat gear stripped of her weapons and handcuffed to a chair with a beige sack over her head. Jarek gave an unamused snort and ripped the bag off the woman's head. She had shoulder-length blonde hair tied in a messy ponytail. Her face was bruised and cut up, the woman opened her blue eyes and glared at her captors. Jarek merely smirked,
"Lt. Sonya Blade, special forces," he said
Sonya remained silent looking up at Jarek
"You know Kane was hoping to get to you first. Then you just happened to stumble upon my front door, what a lucky day!"
"Where's Kane?" she growled
"Long gone, I'm afraid, you see we knew you were coming. So, we moved the shipment to another facility for delivery to my client."
"We know about your shipment of robotic weapons, codename: Cyber Initiative. We don't know who the weapons are for." Sonya hissed
"Nor will you ever, honestly stealing from that DOD base in Trumbull, was as easy as fixing a tire. I hoped for more of a challenge."
Sonya struggled against her bonds much to Jarek's amusement.
"You must be one of those dumb blondes if you think you're getting out of here alive."
Unbeknownst to Jarek, Sonya dislocated one of her thumbs, slowly slipping her hand out of one of the cuffs.
"I know your friends Briggs and Stryker are on their way here, you see we have people everywhere, that see and hear everything and relay back to us. So, handling them won't be a problem."
"Now the only question is what to do with you? So many choices, and so little time. I could torture you for a bit, or maybe I could FedEx package you straight to Kane. Or maybe..."
"Or maybe you can shut the hell up!" Sonya spat swinging the chair around and smacking Jarek
CRASH!
Sonya slipped her hands free from the cuffs. Jarek got back up to his feet, as his men entered the room guns drawn on Sonya. Before he could give the order to fire
BOOM BOOM
RATATAA RATTTAA
The sounds of explosions and gunfire rocked the entire plant. A squad of armed special forces soldiers rushed in guns blazing, headed by a muscular African American man, he had a shaved head, a thick goatee, and a burn scar on his cheek, and with him was a man with dark hair, and blue eyes, his name was Stryker. They were followed by a large squad of armed special forces soldiers, bullets firing in all directions. Both men took cover behind a couple of pillars and large crates.
"Jax go for Sonya! we'll keep you covered!" Stryker yelled returning fire from his AK
"On it!" Jax replied
Jax wasted no time, shooting through any armed thug that stood in his way, jumping over large conveyors and running past large crates, hitting and shooting at whatever moves. Stryker and the rest of his men pushed through, mowing down almost half of Jarek's men. Meanwhile, Jarek and Sonya engaged in a slugfest, with Jarek, landing fresh hard-hitting blows on an already weakened Sonya, Jarek, tossed his victim into a wall. Before he could continue, Jax came rushing in bullets spraying everywhere, tackling Jarek to the ground like a linebacker making him slide across the floor
"Sonya! Are you alright?!" Jax questioned helping her to her feet
"(Cough) Never had a better day," Sonya replied
"Stryker! I got Sonya, let's blow this place and get the hell out of here." the man reported
"Jax look out!"
CRASH
Jarek had gotten back his feet, tossed away his rifle, and squared up against his comrade's captor
"I've waited a long time for this Briggs." spat Jarek
"Feeling's mutual, your ass is going down tonight!" Jax replied
(Fight!)
Jax delivered a mean left hook to Jarek's face then an uppercut to his jaw. Jarek answered back with a jab, punch, and sidekick to Blade's already bruised body, Jax countered another punch with an elbow to his face and then a high knee to the face. Jarek tossed the man into a crate, but he bounced back with a multiple combo of punches and kicks, Jarek went for a clothesline out of rage only for Jax to counter with a judo move takedown.
"Is that all you got?!" the solider taunted
Jarek in response grabbed an empty glass bottle and smashed it into Jax's knee, taking advantage Jarek struck Jax right in his lower back, then kneed Jax in his rib area. Jax hit back with an elbow to the stomach area, then a jumping spin kick knocking Jarek down.

"Your ass is out of business Jarek!"
"Sonya!" a voice called out
A beaten-up, Sonya looked to see Stryker running up to her.
"Looks like we missed the party." Stryker quipped
"Wasn't much of a party, Jarek was a lousy host," Sonya replied looking at the downed Jarek
"Jax, he already shipped the weapons, we were too late."
"General Nash is going be pissed about this,"
"But I managed to get his client's name at least before I was caught."
"Who?"
"Sektor."
"What the hell kind of name is Sektor?" asked Jax
"I don't know, but he might."
"Too bad, I'm not saying shit, " Jarek laughed suddenly sitting up
A small cylindrical device was tossed several feet from the pair, it began to beep almost rapidly
"Grenade! Move!" Jax yelled
The three soldiers quickly scurried off, the device ceased to beep, and a bright flash emanated within the facility that rocked the grounds.
"Red Dragon Forever!" Jarek shouted
Stryker ducked for cover, Jax covered the already injured Sonya as best he could as they were engulfed by a bright flash of light, followed by explosions.
BOOM BOOM
(The next day at Sindel's training grounds)
Mileena, Jade, Fumitan, Krone, and Sindel were all present for the final proceedings of the contest. The trio of Sofia, Tiffany, and Laufeia entered the area stepping on the platform, which had been retrofitted into a wrestling ring, the trio approached the ring eager to begin stepping through the ropes. Sindel nodded to Krone, to start, Krone stepped up, and the larger woman said
"Congratulations on making it this far ladies. You've proven that you three are the best of the best."
"With that said here are the rules once more for this three-way fight: The first woman, to gain a knockout, a ring out, or submission will be the winner," Krone explained
Mileena stood up to speak
"Although we prefer that you fought honorably, anything goes as this match. Thus, there are certain "surprises" underneath the ring. To make things interesting." said Mileena
"Now let's begin. Combatants ready!"
"Wait!" a voice rang out
Kitana stepped on the gazebo much to the surprise of her mother, sister, and Krone.
"Kitana what are you doing here?" Her mother asked
"I was as the Americans say, in the neighborhood. Besides I was curious to see who would be selected as Mother's top guard." Kitana said
"Are we certain we're not in an American show? like The Challenge? I like that show." Jade said
"My preference is Dancing with the Stars. I would love to be in it one day." Mileena inputted
"I've grown to enjoy American's got talent," Kitana said
"That's enough, there are no cameras here. Save your guilty pleasures for your next trip to America you three. Krone you may begin." Sindel ordered
"Combatants ready!"
Tiffany, Laufeia, and Sofia spread out
"Begin!"
Laufeia and Tiffany had the same idea of attacking Sofia first. But the larger woman predicted it and struck first with a double clothesline.
"They'd go for the larger threat first. Predictable." Kitana said
"They thought they would stand a better chance against Sofia." Jade observed, "Good strategy but not good enough."
Tiffany sprung up first and squared up and hit punches to Sofia's lower abdomen then hit straight to her face. But Sofia pushed Tiffany off with ease and then hit a punch of her own to the face, Sofia grabbed her and tossed Tiffany into the corner like a ragdoll nearly going over the top rope.
Which would have counted as an elimination had Tiffany gone over. Before Sofia could follow up, Laufeia got up and struck from behind with a swift spin kick to the back of Sofia. Sofia responded with a front kick knocking the forest girl back. Laufeia staggered but hit a double punch to the midsection then a backhand to the face, but Sofia pushed her off, then hit a shoulder tackle sending her flying across the ring.
"Argh!"
Tiffany got back and attacked Sofia with body shots to her lower back. Sofia back-elbowed Tiffany, then hit her with a big kick to the face.
"Impressive show of power," said Kitana
As soon after that, Laufeia attacked the leg of Sofia, causing her to buckle to the large woman into the turnbuckle, and she began hitting mixed strikes of punches and chops, but to her shock, Tiffany hit Laufeia with a right jab punch.
"It's every woman for herself, there are no friends in competition," Sindel said
Then they started to go at, exchanging blows, left and right. Sofia rose from the corner and snorted and went after Laufeia and Tiffany. Tiffany struck first at Sofia, but the larger woman outmuscled them both to the ropes.
"Looks like this is over early." sighed Mileena "How anti-climactic."
Sofia put the pair over on the top rope, but both Laufeia and Tiffany hung, practically for dear life, this lasted for only for only a for a good few minutes Laufeia kicked Sofia in the leg she hit, earlier on.
"Agrh!"
Seizing the chance Tiffany pulled Sofia towards the top rope, in a surprising show of strength, making the Russian woman go over the top rope, only for Sofia to hang on. Tiffany landed her cartwheel kick across Sofia's face knocking her off the apron and onto the floor.
"Impressive, now we are down to two," Jade said
"Indeed, now they test their might against each. A forest girl and boxer." Kitana said
"This should be good," Mileena said
Laufeia stood her ground across from the kickboxer, Tiffany stood in the center of the ring
"Only one of us is winning this fight, and it's going to be me," Tiffany stated
"Spirits give me strength!" Laufeia exclaimed
The two resumed exchanging blows, in ferocity, Tiffany struck with a hard right jab punch, knocking Laufeia nearly off balance, Laufeia retaliated with a leaping kick, to the upper body, then followed up with a spin kick, then a palm strike, Tiffany fought back with quick punches and kicks to the face and gut. The kickboxer missed with a right cross, and Laufeia countered with an upper palm strike to the face.
Tiffany took one last shot, with her winded-up punch, but merely grazed Laufeia, cutting her cheek. Laufeia kicked Tiffany in the gut and nailed her with an axe kick knocking her down and out on the canvas. And just like that the fight was over, the competition was over, and the victor was determined.

The Spirits smile upon me this day." Laufeia stated

Laufeia attempted to help her defeated opponent, but Tiffany waved her off and rolled out of the ring without a word. Laufeia stood in the center of the ring awaiting instructions. Krone motioned for her to come toward her new employer, stepping out of the ring, Laufeia approached almost nervously. Both Edenia's stood up from their chairs.
"Laufeia Ashla of the Aura tribe. As Matriarch of the Edenia family, I am honored to welcome you within our ranks." Sindel said
"Great Matriarch of the Edenia family, I am honored. But if I may." Laufeia said in a hesitant tone
"What do you wish to say?" Sindel questioned
"I did not merely come here just to be of service to your family," Laufeia revealed
"I knew it! You've come here to..." Mileena began ranting ready to pounce on the girl
"Mileena! Continue Ms. Ashla." Sindel said raising her hand to her daughter
For the next few minutes, Laufeia explained that her tribe spoke of a prophecy written by the Goddess of her tribe. A child that will bring balance to the world and prevent its destruction. Her chosen charge will be a boy of the Dragon Lineage. The first part alarmed Jade, Kitana, Sindel, and Mileena remembering the visions of the Keeper of Time. Kitana wondered what role this girl would play in Shinji's destiny.
Laufeia then revealed that she had been observing her great-grandson from far away for some time, sensing the energy within Shinji. Shinji for the last decade had been trained extensively by both Liu Kang and Kitana to help control his kinetic energy abilities.
For Sindel this was a serious matter, when the time came, she had thought about sending Fumitan, Mileena, Krone, or maybe even Sheeva to watch over and safeguard her great-great-grandson in Tokyo. Sheeva had been very vocal about being Shinji's guardian when the appointed time came. She even went as far as secretly following Shinji and Lin Lao to China to lend aid when needed. After she was finished the forest native girl awaited the reaction hoping they would allow her request to begin her mission.
"I must say, Ms. Ashla your story and your request has... caught us off, guard," Sindel spoke after a minute of silence.
"You believe my story then?" asked Laufeia
Three women except Krone glanced at each other wondering how to approach this unexpected situation, Kitana spoke up.
"We are no strangers to prophesy. Yet prophesies can be misinterpreted." Kitana stated remembering Raiden and his visions
"While I sense your intentions are indeed truthful. Others within our family would require proof of your claim."
"What would I need to accomplish?"
"It's simple, proof by combat. "Sindel answered "While you did outlast five other women. That was merely, to gain a spot in the Edenia family task force. If you wish to be of service to my great-great-grandson. Prove your strength against the members of this family."
Kitana and Mileena rose from their chairs, but Fumitan whispered something into Sindel's ear, and her eyes widened, and she looked at her trusted friend and headmaid incredulously.
"Are you certain?" Sindel asked Fumitan
"Yes, she is on her way up," Fumitan reported
"Sindel rose from her seat and rushed back into the house much to the confusion of Laufeia and her daughters.
"Fumitan is it..." Kitana trialed off
"Yes, Mrs. Kang, it is Sheeva. She's been watching the contest and heard what Laufeia proclaimed. And she's taken it rather...personally." Fumitan answered
"This isn't good, Sheeva is a Shokan, she'll tear the poor girl apart piece by piece."
"Doesn't sound so bad to me." Mileena inputted
Kitana shot her sister an irritated look, and then Sindel returned to the outside to address the young girl.
"Ms. Ashla, as I have stated earlier, you must prove yourself against my family members. To that end, there is one, who wishes, to test your might," Sindel said
"Who?" asked Laufeia
Thunderous footsteps echoed behind Laufeia, and a tall four-armed figure emerged from the forest. While Kitana, Mileena Fumitan, and Krone appeared nervous they were unfazed by this new arrival. Laufeia balked back.
"A Shokan? By the gods! The legends are true, they do exist."Laufeia whispered
The Shokan female stepped over the top ropes easily (The way a giant wrestler like Kane, or Braun Strowman would step into the ring) towering over the girl.
"I am Sheeva, " her voice practically echoed (MK11 voice)
"I have been watching over young Shinji since he was a little one. You may have outlasted five other women. But they are weaklings compared to me! Now prove your conviction or return to your forest little girl."
"Very well, I accept the challenge. May the great Goddess watch over me," replied Laufeia getting into a fighting stance
"Your Goddess cannot help you here."
(Fight)
Sheeva struck with a Shokan strike (left punch), only for her to miss and Laufeia retaliated by attacking Sheeva's midsection, but Sheeva kicked her off. Sheeva grabbed the forest girl and tossed her into the corner, almost out of the ring. Laufeia still somewhat exhausted from her previous managed to slip underneath the Shokan woman. Laufeia kicked at her knee and hit a palm strike to Sheeva's side but got a double backhand from the Shokan.
Laufeia staggered a bit but hit a powerful kick to the stomach sending Sheeva into the corner, then hit several palm punches to the face, Sheeva shoved her back and hit her with a wicked front kick.
"Ugh" grunted Laufeia
Sheeva missed with a stomp, her foot going through the mat causing her leg to get stuck.
"Gah what?!" gasped the Shokan
" I was afraid of this, the ring was not meant to support Sheeva's weight," Sindel sighed
Laufeia quickly took advantage, first by hitting a palm uppercut, then a spin kick to the sternum, and then more palm punches to the face, Sheeva blocked the next punch and grabbed the girl upside down and hit her with multiple punches (Away Queen's punishment) then slammed her down to the canvas. Sheeva got her leg free, advancing upon the downed girl, the Shokan was about to finish her off until...
"Enough!" Sindel commanded
Sheeva stopped immediately at Sindel's voice and looked towards her.
Laufeia barely rose going down to a knee, Sindel, Fumitan Kitana, and Mileena made their way to the ring and climbed through the ropes.
"Laufeia Ashla, you have been tested and proven yourself this night. You have earned the right to be the guardian and servant of my great-great-grandson." Sindel declared
"Thank you, Ms. Edenia, I am honored. I swear by the goddess, that I will dedicate my life to protect the Chosen Child, your Great-great grandson Ms. Edenia."
"We hold you to this vow Ms. Ashla, the day you betray it is the day your life ends," Mileena emphatically stated
"We take commitment very seriously in this family, betrayal is not tolerated. Remember that Ms. Ashla." Kitana added
"I understand," Laufeia replied
Before anything else could be said a maid approached the ring handing Fumitan a piece of paper, examining it first, and then passing it to Sindel, reading it her eyes widened.
"Mother, what is it?" Kitana asked
"Evangelion Unit 01 has been completed," she answered
"Does that mean..."
"Yes, contact everyone. The time is here." Sindel said
(With Liu Kang)
Liu Kang stood outside the gardens of the Shaolin temple, dark storm clouds gathered in the skies, and thunder boomed ominously over China. To Liu Kang, he was reminded of Raiden, the God of Thunder. Liu's eyes carried a focused expression, as he clutched a piece of paper in his taped hand.
The winds picked up blowing Liu Kang's jet-black hair mysteriously. Wisps of his flame emanated from his body, while the thunder intensified. It was as if the gods were giving him a warning. The energy in the atmosphere was more intense than he had ever felt before, not since the days of Mortal Kombat tournament or in Outworld.
"Liu Kang," said Kung Lao coming out sensing the same thing
"You feel too?"
"Yes, Kung Lao." Liu Kang stated
He was returning to the temple, finding a much older Shinji sitting on both knees in a meditative position in front of the fire pit. Sparks of crimson energy and fire circulated him. Feeling the presence of his great-grandfather behind him Shinji stood up to address him.
"Great-grandfather,"
"You sense it too, do you not Shinji?"
"Yes, Great-grandfather. It is time, isn't it?"
"Yes, we have been training you for this moment for all your life. Now I pray it is enough."
The sounds of thunder boomed furiously outside giving Shinji such an ominous feeling.
"It has begun." Liu Kang stated

End Notes: This may or may not be the final chapter of Dragon's Bloodline, I put up a poll asking if I should redo it to fit MK11 and MK1. To my surprise, a lot of votes said yes, I should. When I started Dragon's Bloodline it was based on MK10 and the Modernize MK legacy movie with no idea how NRS would do the follow-up sequel. Flash forward several years later we get MK11 the whole-time travel crap shoot then the lukewarm reboot. I'm not going to get into that, time travel is convoluted enough as it is. What I might do is do an EVA crossover based on Scorpion and Liu Kang's respective endings. But anyway, this chapter was just a small taste of things to come, yes there was going to be a tournament during the angel attacks. Sonya, Jax, and Stryker are the same as their MK counterparts although with Jax I intend a different path for him. Next chapter for sure, the third angel attacks. Also, the Lin Kuei's mysterious assassin makes her presence felt as will Mileena's new abilities. This chapter took weeks for me to do, coming up with fight scenes was difficult, mainly because I was occupied with other things. So read and review and stay prime

Kitana and Mileena rose from their chairs, but Fumitan stepped forward taking off her glasses, her face taking on a serious look.
"Ms. Sindel. Mrs., Kitana, I volunteer to face Ms. Ashla." Fumitan said
"What? Why you Fumitan?!" Mileena demanded
"Only the best should care for Master Shinji. And I have looked after the young master since he was a small boy. I will test her might."
Sindel sighed and nodded
"Very well Fumitan, you may face her."
Fumitan, stripped off her maid uniform, revealing a black leotard as she walked briskly to the ring.
"Mother, why are you allowing this?" Kitana asked
"If I'm being honest, the girl deserves to have some advantage. Fighting one of you two really wouldn't be fair." Her mother answered
"You have a point, but why Fumitan?" Mileena asked
" You forget that I trained Fumitan personally Mileena, and it's been some time since she's tasted combat."
"It's even longer for me, I haven't had a good fight in a long time. Milieena muttered
Fumitan entered the ring. her eyes firmly set on Laufeia. Laufeia on her part was still tired from her last fight but stood ready, while Fumitan took hers. (Lei Fang's fighting stance)
"Cetrion guide me," Laufeia murmured
"She can't guide you here," Fumitan replied
(Fight)
Fumitan struck first with a double fist punch hitting Laufeia dead on, but she quickly hit back with a palm strike to the face, Laufeia went for another palm strike, but Fumitan avoided it, getting behind the forest girl grabbing her by the waist, locking her arms tightly, the head maid arched her body backward planting Laufeia headfirst (German Suplex) into the mat.
"I had forgotten that Fumitan was versed in wrestling," Kitana murmured
Laufeia got back up a bit dazed from that unexpected maneuver. Fumitan pushed her into the corner and landed some body shots on Laufiea's aching, body. But the forest girl found the strength to push her back and then, hit Fumitan with a quick spin kick and then bounced off the ropes to hit a sling blade, (sleeper slam) taking the maid down to the mat.
Laufeia still sore from the beating she endured got gingerly, while Fumitan got back to her feet. Laufeia struck hitting multiple palm punches on the woman, but there was hardly any power behind them, Fumitan struck back with a big roundhouse kick, staggering her. Laufeia bounced off the ropes and hit a knee strike to the gut then a spin kick to the face knocking Fumitan down. But Laufeia wasn't done there, she grabbed the woman using what strength she mustered and slammed her down to the mat.
"I'm sure that took a lot out of her," Mileena commented
Fumitan got up from the narrowing her eyes, determined not to lose, the maid blocked another knee strike and multiple punches to mid-section, then went behind the forest girl again but instead of another German suplex, Fumitan kicked Laufeia in the back of the leg first then hip tossed her to the mat, and hit a leg drop on Laufeia's head. Before Fumitan could finish her off, Sindel stood from her seat.
"Enough Fumitan! " Sindel ordered
The maid stopped and stood at attention.
"I'm impressed that young Ms., Ashla was able to last as long as she against, two other women and one trained by me. And I'm not easily impressed." Sindel stated
"Laufeia Ashla has more than earned the right to be my Great-Great grandson's guardian and servant." Sindel finished
"Thank you, Ms. Edenia, I am honored. I swear by the goddess, that I will dedicate my life to protect the Chosen Child, your Great-great grandson Ms. Edenia."
"We hold you to this vow Ms. Ashla, the day you betray it is the day your life ends," Mileena emphatically stated "And I will be the one who ends it."
