Awake but not yet out of bed, I wondered what I was supposed to do next. My guardian angel, Azrael, told me to stay close to the vampire. However, they also implied that the events of last night were supposed to be the vampires undoing, yet it wasn't. Yes, Judas was once again hung, this time at sunrise. The more I thought about it, the hanging would not kill him, the sun would, and the sun does not permintly kill him. Yet, Azrael said Mary would fulfill the prophesy by this, but that was another trick. Angel's can not lie, so it must have meant something, either they just didn't know and thought it might. Or, Mary setting me up to destroy or save Dracula meant she would give me the chance to get close enough to him to do this. Now the vampire is my problem!I did not realize how expensive the hotel was going to be till I forced myself to hide my wings and walk into the five-star lobby. Van Helsing always paid me well, but not having a job anymore, I was unaware how long I could keep it steady. With how much pain I was in and the sun threatening to creep out, there was no choice. Of course, they only took credit card, which I luckly had on me.Since Drac does not need to sleep and the sitting room was separate from the bedroom, I got to sleep in peace. Laying on my back with my mended wings spread to my sides covering me, I listened to the television playing in the other room. No other noise came from the vampire. He had been quiet since we reached the hotel. Since his near death, really. All he said was I could have the bed since there were only one room suites available. Then again, to get some rest as I went to bed, swearing he'd be a perfect gentleman after I threatened to throw him outside should he try to get in my room. 'Not that you have enough strength to though,' he joked after I closed the door. I decided to get up to make sure he was even still in there. Sure enough, he sat on the couch with his leg on knee, making a triangle with his leg watch "1992 Bram Stoker's Dracula," staring Gary Oldman as Dracula I chuckled to myself at the thought of Dracula watching Dracula on TV. "I hope that was on cable otherwise I have to pay for that," I complained as I carefully sat down next to him trying to find a way to put my wings over the back of the couch.Dracula finally turned with a look of amusement, watching my fight to sit comfortably without putting my wings away. "I see why you keep them hidden. I imagine they get to be quite the nuisance," Dracula remakes as handed me a cushion, which I tucked under me to sit higher on the couches back. He also asked if my wing felt any better. I nodded that it did yet, Drac examining it closely seeming satisfied that it was healed. Look back to the TV he reassured me, "It is on a channel that plays movies. I was watching a series called Star Wars before this came on."I hope he knows for certain how a hotel TV works. It is just strange to think this man who has been around for 2000 years knows how a TV works. Most of the television creations he spent in a coffin. "You watched Star Wars?""I did. Is it so hard to believe, Stasis, that I can gain knowledge faster than humans can. Fast enough to understand how your modern technology works?"No, it wasn't. Some books and legends say vampires can gain all their victims' knowledge from their blood. Others say they can read or see, as well as understand things at a faster rate and greater capacity than humans by simply touching a book or television. It is probably not that simple and only looks like they only touch it or know what their last victim did. "It is certainly not that simple, but I do have faster and greater learning abilities them humans. As a result, I adapted to my environment faster.""I bet," I yawned, lending back further into the couch. This made Dracula look at me strange, but he didn't say anything. It seemed odd to be so casual around him after what just happened. If I was going to be stuck with him, perhaps it is a good thing it feels nature. Maybe it was because he was action too calm and not his usual, seductive self. I do not know if I could handle that version of Dracula. "Have you watched this before?""Well...I have watched this too many times already, and I could probably recite it line for line. Had to learn as much about you as possible. As you and Van Helsing told me, this is not an accurate representation of what happened."Dracula sighed, "They portray me as worthy of life and forgiveness. As a love stick beast who lost his way. Is the book like this, too?""Hum..the book is not as romanticized. However, many still read it as a man with religious trauma and a broken heart who became a complete monster to get revenge on God," I pointed to the TV. He raised his eyebrow as he turned to look at it. I continued, "That Dracula had no idea his wife would be reincarnated as Mina. He did know God would not forgive her for suicide and refused to forgive himself until he learned that was not the case."He continued to watch silently for a while before he spoke again, "Though the events never happened, the idea is not far off. If only it ended this way. If only it was that simple.""Well, you are not Vlad Tepes, Drac, you are... you know. Maybe it does not end like this movie does, but at least you can tell it the way you want it to be told. If you even want it to be. Otherwise, this is what people think when they hear Dracula," was the only way I currently knew how to put it. This is what the world considers Dracula's legacy. He can change that if he wants to, but I did not want to go into it know. I could not even if he wanted to. Suddenly, a chill went up my spine, and I needed to get away from him, "I am going to have a shower, and you are not going to be joining me. Understand? The door will remain locked when I lock it. "Dracula tilted his head back on the couch, laughing as he ran a hand through his curly, brown hair, "Trust me, Angel, locks would not stop me. However, I am not in the mood to play games with you," he turned to look at me. Head still on the top of the couches back. He looked more serious now, "You are safe from me, Stasis."

Though I believed him, I still locked the bathroom door. My clothes were dirty, had small tears in places, and started to have a smell. I was surprised it did not get the beds white sheets dirty too. Or the vampire wasn't repulsed by me, nit that I cared. Removing my clothes and inspecting my hair, I realized how disgusting I felt. Without a change of clothes, I washed them in the sink, wrung them out as best as I could, and hung them on the towel hanger, praying they would be dry. Hopping in the standing shower, the water felt soothing warm as I washed myself clean.
