Brawl 1 Water: Chapter 18; Brawl against The Waterbending Master

After weeks of travel, Aang and everyone had finally reached the North Pole, but they hadn't found the Northern Water Tribe yet. "I'm not one to complain, but can't Appa fly any higher?" Sokka said as Appa was getting tired and was flying a little bit over the water. Aang then said to Sokka. "I have an idea. Why don't we all get on your back, and you can fly us to the Northern Water Tribe."

"I'd love to. Climb on, everyone. Sokka is ready for takeoff." Sokka said before Momo jumped onto Sokka's back. After that, Katara said to everyone. "Look, we're all just a little tired and cranky because we've been flying for two days straight."

"Yeah, but it is weird. After flying around for two days you think we would find someone from the Northern Water Tribe." Saida said before Miguel said. "Or they find us." Then a pillar of ice appeared in front of them. "AANG!" Phaedrus yelled as Aang quickly made Appa dodged the pillar. The others screamed and were holding onto the saddle as Aang dodged the pillar. However a second ice pillar appeared, and hit Appa. It didn't hurt Appa, but knocked Appa into the water. Then a ring of ice wrapped around Appa, keeping Appa flying away. Then Northern Water Tribe boats with Waterbenders on it appeared around them. Katara then said as the Northern Water Tribe benders noticed who they had captured. "They're Waterbenders. We found the Northern Water Tribe."

In a Fire Nation military port, Zhao was in a meeting with a few male Fire Nation Captains, and looking at a map of the Avatar's movements and finally figured out where the Aang and the others were going. "The Northern Water Tribe. The Avatar needs to master Waterbending. He is looking for a teacher." Zhao said to the other Fire Nation Captains. Then one of the captains said to Zhao. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go get him."

"Patience, Captain Li. This isn't some little Earth Village we can just match into. The Northern Water Tribe is a great nation. There's a reason they've survived 100 years of war. The frozen tundra is treacherous. The landscape itself is an icy fortress. We'll need a massive invasion force." Zhao said to the Fire Nation Captains. The Captains agreed and started to make their invasion fleet.

Back at the North Pole, the Waterbenders released Appa from the ice and took them to their home, Agna Qel'a, which was the capital of the Northern Water Tribe civilization. The first thing they saw was a gigantic wall made of ice and snow that had the Water Tribe symbol on the front. The Northern Tribe Waterbenders then made a small hole at the bottom of the wall for Appa to go through. Once they went through the hole, it closed and Aang and the others were in a lock. Then more Waterbenders level them out and Katara then said to everyone. "I can't believe how many Waterbenders live up here."

"We'll find a Master to teach us no problem." Aang said before Hoshi said. "I can't wait." Then the lock was released and they followed another boat to the palace in the center of a beautiful canal city with Northern Water Tribe members watching them. And not long after, a beautiful Water Tribe girl with moonlight hair passed by them. Sokka noticed her and started to get a crush on her.

Far away from the North Pole, on Zuko's ship, it was music night and everyone but Zuko was there. Alex was playing the guitar, and Iroh was singing about the seasons and loves. It was all good fun, until Zhao and a few Firebenders entered the ship.

Back at the North Pole, the palace was having a feast to celebrate the Avatar's arrival. Then after the food was served, the chief of the Northern Water Tribe, Arnook, said to everyone in attendance. "Tonight, we celebrate the arrival of our brothers and sisters from the Southern Tribe. And they have brought with them someone very special, someone who many of us believed disappeared from the world until now… The Avatar." Arnook motion to the Avatar and the people cheered when Aang waved to them. Arnook then said to his people. "We also celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday. Princess Yue is now of marrying age." Arnook said, motioning to the same girl Sokka saw earlier. Sokka was surprised that the girl he saw earlier was the princess to the Northern Water Tribe. Yue then said to her father and her people. "Thank you, Father. May the Great Ocean and Moon Spirits watch over us during these troubled times."

"Now, Master Pakku and his students will perform!" Arnook said, motioning to three Waterbenders. One was an old man, who was Pakku, the greatest Waterbending master in the whole North Pole, and the other two were younger men, Pakku's students. As Pakku and his students did an amazing show with their Waterbending, Yue took a seat, which was next to Sokka. Sokka, who was eating his food, stopped, swallowed, and said to Yue. "Hi there. Sokka, Southern Water Tribe."

"Very nice to meet." Yue said before a moment of awkward silence. Sokka broke that silence by saying. "So, uh… You're a princess, huh?! You know back in my Tribe, I'm kind of like a prince myself."

"Is Sokka really a prince back home?" Phaedrus said to the other Bakugan. Centipod then said to Phaedrus. "No. Not at all."

"Do you mind? I'm trying to have a conversation here." Sokka said to the Bakugan. "My apologies, Prince Sokka." Centipod said before they all returned to their Brawlers. Sokka then turned back to Yue and said. "So, it looks like I'm gonna be in town for a while. I'm thinking maybe we could… Do an activity together?"

"Do an activity?!" Yue said and Sokka realized that he misspoke, and chose to go back to eating. After the feast, Arnook took Aang and Phaedrus to meet with Pakku. "Master Pakku, meet your newest student: The Avatar." Arnook said to Pakku. Aang bowed and Pakku said to him. "Just because you're destined to save the world, don't expect any special treatment."

"I understand. My friends and I can't wait to start training with you… After we relax for a couple of days." Aang said to Pakku and then Pakku said to Aang. "If you want to relax, then I suggest visiting a tropical island. If not, I'll see you all at sunrise. Good night." Pakku then left and Arnook had some guards show Aang and his friends to the rooms they will be staying in.

Back on Zhao's ship, Alex ran into Zuko's room and said to Zuko, who was practicing some Firebending forms. "Zuko we have a problem!"

"What? No one to play on the Sungi Horn?"

"It's not about the Sungi Horn. The problem is Zhao! He's on the ship right now!"

"What?! Why is he here!?" Zuko said, stopping and walking over to Alex. Then Zhao entered the room with Iroh following behind him. Zuko turned to Zhao, who said to Zuko. "I'm taking your crew."

"WHAT?!"

"I've recruited them for a little expedition to the North Pole."

"Uncle, is that true?" Zuko said to Iroh and Iroh said to Zuko. "I'm afraid so. He's taking everyone, even the cook."

"Well, everyone but Alex." Ryerazu said, jumping onto Zuko's right shoulder. Zuko pushed Ryerazu off of his shoulder and Zhao said to Zuko. "Sorry you won't be there to watch me capture the Avatar, but I can't have you getting in my way again." Zuko then tried to attack Zhao, but Iroh stopped him. As Alex picked Ryerazu up, Zhao looked around and noticed the swords hanging on the wall. Zhao remembered seeing swords like Zuko's when the Blue and Red Spirits freed Aang and Phaedrus. As Zhao took one of the swords off the wall, Zuko and Alex got a little worried. Zhao then said to Zuko. "I didn't know you were skilled with broadswords, Prince Zuko."

"I'm not. They're antiques. Just decorative."

"Have you heard of the Blue and Red Spirits, General Iroh?" Zhao said to Iroh and then Iroh said to Zhao. "Just rumors. I don't think they are real."

"They are real, all right. They are criminals and enemies of the Fire Nation. But I have a feeling justice will catch up with him soon." Zhao said before giving Iroh the sword. After Iroh took the sword and before Zhao left the ship, Zhao said to Iroh. "General Iroh, the offer to join my mission still stands… If you change your mind." Zhao then left the ship, but he knew that Zuko and Alex were the Blue and Red Spirits, and he would get revenge for what they did to him.

Back at the North Pole. Katara, Aang, Hoshi, and their Bakugan were going to the area Pakku used to train his students. "I've waited for this day my whole life. I finally get to learn from a real Waterbending Master!" Katara said as they were making their way to Pakku. Once they reached Pakku, who was doing his morning warm ups, Aang said to Pakku, breaking Pakku's contraction. "Good morning, Master Pakku!"

"No, please! March right in! I'm not concentrating or anything." Pakku said before turning to them. Aang then said to Pakku. "Uh, this is my friends, Katara and Hoshi… The ones I told you about." After Pakku looked at Katara and Hoshi, he then said to them as he made a chair with ice. "I'm sorry. I think there's been a misunderstanding. You didn't tell me your friends were a girl and a Hex."

"Why does Katara being a girl, and me being a Brawler, Brawler not Hex, matter?" Hoshi said to Pakku and Pakku said to them. "Well we have to make an exception for the Avatar. In our Tribe, it is forbidden for women and Hex to learn Waterbending."

"What do you mean you won't teach me?! I didn't travel across the entire world so you could tell me no!" Katara said walking up to Pakku. Hoshi then did the same and said to Pakku. "Yeah, besides what about the other females and Brawlers that can Waterbend!?"

"Here, the women learn from Yagoda to use their Waterbending to heal. And the Hex, whether male or female, learn from Juwairen to use their Waterbending for construction. I'm sure they would be happy to take you as they're students, despite your bad attitude." Pakku said and then Katara said. "I don't want to heal. I want to fight!"

"So do I." Hoshi said before Pakku said. "I can see that. But our Tribe has customs, rules."

"Well, your rules stink!" Katara said before Aang joined them and said to Pakku. "Yeah. They're not fair. If you won't teach Katara and Hoshi, then…"

"Then what?!"

"Then I won't learn from you!" Aang said before turning around and then Pakku said to him. "Well, have fun teaching yourself. I'm sure you'll do a great job."

"Wait!" Katara said, causing Aang to stop. Katara then said to Pakku as Hoshi walked over to Aang. "Aang didn't mean that."

"Aang, you can't risk your training for us. You need to master Waterbending as soon as possible, even though Katara and I don't like him. Master Pakku is the best option." Hoshi said to Aang. Katara then said to Aang. "Hoshi right. Don't worry Aang, we'll be fine." Katara and Hoshi then left. Aang wasn't happy with the situation, but returned to Pakku and started his Waterbending training.

Meanwhile, Sokka had run into Yue, who was doing her check on the city. The moment he saw her, he said to Yue as he followed her. "Princess Yue, good morning! Hey, how about that feast last night? Boy, your dad sure knows how to throw a party."

"I'm happy you enjoyed yourself."

"Well, it wasn't as much fun after you left." Sokka said and Yue's cheeks turned red. Sokka said after his cheeks turned red too. "So, I'm still hoping we can see more of each other."

"Do an activity, you mean?"

"Yes, at a place… for some time."

"I'd love to. I'll meet you on that bridge tonight."

"Great! I'll see you–" Sokka said, but he wasn't paying attention and walked the sidewalk and fell into the water. Yue laughed a little then said. "Sorry."

"That's ok. It was worth it. See you tonight." Sokka said, getting out of the water, and was kind of happy that he made Yue laugh.

Back in a Fire Nation military port, Zhao was having a secret meeting. "I'm very impressed. You all seem highly qualified for the mission I have in mind." Zhao said to the pirates that Aang and Zuko ran into a few weeks ago. Once they saw the gold, and made sure it was real, the captain said to Zhao. "What do you need us to do?"

"I believe you're acquainted with Prince Zuko." Zhao said and smiled as the first step in getting his revenge.

Back at the North Pole, Katara found the little ice hut that Yagoda teached in. Once Katara entered she saw an old woman using her Waterbending on a dummy in front of little girls. Katara then said to the old woman. "Um, hi. Are you Yagoda?"

"Yes, I am. Are you here for the healing lesson?"

"I guess I am." Katara said, but she was anything but happy. Yagoda welcomed Katara, who took a seat, but Katara wasn't happy.

As for Hoshi, he and Centipod had reached another hut. In the hut an old man with an Aquos Bakugan that looked like a swordfish on his right shoulder. The old man was next to an ice pillar in front of a bunch of little kids, and his Bakugan said to him. "Juwairen, we have a visitor."

"Thanks Spear Fin." Juwairen said before turning to Hoshi and he said. "Hello, I'm Hoshi and this is my partner, Centipod."

"Hello." Centipod said and then Juwairen said. "Welcome, please take a seat." Hoshi then took a seat and wasn't very happy either.

It wasn't any better for Aang. Pakku was making Aang do some of the basic forms, the same basic forms from the Waterbending Scroll. "You're moving the water around, but you're not feeling the push and pull." Pakku said to Aang and then Aang said to Pakku. "I'm trying." Aang was having a little trouble and then Pakku said to Aang. "Maybe that move is too advanced for you. Why don't you try an easier one?" Aang then slammed the water into the ground in frustration.

Back with Hoshi, class was over and Juwairen said to Hoshi, who was leaving. "Hoshi, a word?"

"Sure." Hoshi said, stopping and turning to Juwairen. Hoshi then said to Juwairen. "What is it?"

"I am sorry for how my Tribe has treated you."

"I don't want that apology, but I have to ask. Why do you not let Brawlers, not Hex or Hexagon People, learn Waterbending that isn't building?"

"As you know, the Fire Nation likes to take everyone with hexagon eyes away, so after a major battle we had with the Fire Nation about 85 years ago. The Waterbenders and soldiers that were hexagon eyes were taken away never to be seen again. So to protect those that remanded, Hexagon People were no longer allowed to be soldiers and since we couldn't fight anymore Hexagon Waterbenders choice to be builders. I hope you understand."

"I do, but. This isn't going to keep Brawlers safe, it's just going to make them easier targets." Hoshi said before leaving the hut.

And finally with Katara, Yagoda class was over, and Katara learned a bit of healing skills so it wasn't totally bad. "Thanks for the lesson." Katara said to Yagoda, as the little girls were taking the dummy away. Yagoda then noticed Katara's necklace and said to her. "So, who's the lucky boy?"

"Huh?"

"Your betrothal necklace. You're getting married, right?"

"Oh, no. I don't think I'm ready for that yet. My grandmother gave my mother this necklace, and my mother passed it down to me." Katara said and Yagoda got a better look at Katara and the necklace. Yagoda then said to Katara. "I recognize this carving! I don't know why I didn't realize sooner. You're the spitting image of Kanna."

"Wait! How do you know my Gran-Gran's name?" Katara said, stepping away from Yagoda with a bit of shock. Yagoda then said to Katara. "When I was about your age, I was friends with Kanna. She was born here, in the Northern Tribe. Your grandmother had an arranged marriage with a young Waterbender. He carved that necklace for her."

"She never told me. Wait? If Gran-Gran was engaged, why did she leave?"

"I don't know. That's always been a mystery to me. She left without saying good-bye." Yagoda said and Katara could see that even though it had been a very long time it still caused Yagoda some pain.

Back on Zuko's ship, Zuko's crew left Ziko's ship, then Iroh and Alex entered Zuko's room. Zuko was on his bed and Iroh said to Zuko. "The crew wanted me to wish you safe travels."

"Good riddance to those traitors."

"You know, it's a lovely night for a walk. Why don't you join us? It would clear your head." Iroh said and Zuko said nothing. Alex then said to Iroh. "Master, let me talk to him."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, we'll see you later." Alex said before shutting the door. Alex then turned to Zuko and said. "I can't believe you are just going to lay here let Zhao take the Avatar."

"Do you not see what is happening Hex. The Avatar is most likely at the North Pole by now, and Zhao has not only taken my crew, but he is going to invade the North Pole and capture the Avatar."

"Not if we take the Avatar first."

"Are you not paying attention?"

"I am. It's you that doesn't see the edge Zhao has given us."

"What are you talking about?"

"While everyone is fighting, we take the Avatar right under Zhao's nose."

"And how would we do that?" Zuko said and outside Iroh had left left the ship. After Iroh was a good distance away, the pirates made their move. They were being quiet and were bringing in some blasting jelly. Then as they opened a door, it made a squeak. Zuko, Alex, and Ryerazu with all of them being quite heard squeaking. "Is Iroh back?" Ryerazu said before Zuko and Alex started to check the ship, because they had a bad feeling. As the check to the ship, going to the bridge. The pirates had finished putting the blasting jelly into the ship, let the fuse, and ran off of the ship. As for Zuko, Alex and Ryerazu had reached the bridge, they didn't see anyone, but they did see the reptile bird the pirates had. That told them that they were in danger. It was at that moment, the blasting jelly exploited. Zuko and Alex wrapped themselves in a orb of fire, but they were still caught in the explosion. Iroh saw the explosion, then ran back to the ship worried for their safety. When Iroh got there, the ship was totally destroyed. The ship had broken into three pieces, each piece was on fire, and the flames were too wild even for a Firebender to handle. Iroh then cried, because Zuko, Alex and Ryerazu, were almost certainly taken out by the explosion.

Back at the North Pole. Sokka met up with Yue on the bridge they were meeting at. Once Sokka saw her, he said to her. "Hi, Princess Yue. I made you something." Sokk then pulled a little woodcarving, that was kind of bad. "I carved it myself."

"It's a bear."

"Actually, it's supposed to be a fish. See, it has a fin."

"Oh. I'm sorry. I made a mistake. I shouldn't have asked you to come here." Yue said before running away. Sokka stood there dumb found before throwing the woodcarving away. When Sokka returned to the place they were staying in, Katara said to Sokka. "How's warrior training going?" Sokka kicked his back instead of talking. "That bad?" Aang said before Sokka said, taking a seat on his bed. "No, it's Princess Yue. I don't get it. One minute, she wants to go out with me, and the next, she's telling me to get lost. So how was Waterbending training?"

"Master Poop-Head won't teach them because they are a girl and Brawler." Aang said to Sokka and then Sokka said to Aang. "Why don't you just teach them, Aang?"

"Why didn't I think of that?! At night, you can teach me and Hoshi whatever moves you learn from Master Pakku." Katara said before Hoshi said. "That's not a bad idea. With this plan, Aang has someone to practice with, and we get to learn some Waterbending that isn't for building or healing."

"And everyone is happy." Katara said before Sokka said. "I'm not happy."

"But you're never happy. Come on Aang, Hoshi." Katara said as she, Hoshi, and Aang left to find a spot to train. After they found a location that overed good cover and was close to the water, Aang said to Katara and Hoshi showing them a move. "Master Pakku said this move is all about sinking and floating."

"Got it." Hoshi said as Aang gave the water to Katara. Aang then did the same for Hoshi. And the moment Katara and Hoshi got it, the water started to move around them. "That was amazing!" Aang said before Katara said. "That wasn't me."

"Nor was it me." Hoshi said before they saw the water go above them. It was Pakku, who was about them, bending the water and then turning the water into icicle shards. Pakku then placed the shards into the bridge and Aang said to Pakku. "I was just showing Katara and Hoshi a few moves."

"You have disrespected me, my teaching, and my entire culture."

"I'm sorry, I—"

"You are no longer welcome as my student." Pakku said before leaving the three of them. The following morning, Aang and the others were having a meeting with Arnook, Yue, Pakku and a few of Arnook councilmen. After learning what had happened, Arnook said to them. "What do you want me to do? Force Master Pakku to take Aang back as his student?"

"Yes. Please." Katara said before Hoshi said. "It was our idea, not Aang's. Please, he needs to master Waterbending."

"I suspect he might change his mind if you both swallow your pride and apologize to him." Arnook said and they agreed. "I'm waiting, little girl, Hex." Pakku said, full of pride. That made Katara and Hoshi mad and then Katara said to Pakku. "No! No way am I apologizing to a sour old man like you!"

"Nor am I. I will not swallow my pride for an old man who is nothing but pride." Hoshi said as his Waterbending broke some jars of water close by. Katara then said to Pakku. "I'll be outside if you're man enough to fight me."

"And I'll be joining that battle." Hoshi said as they both left the palace with everyone in shock. "I'm sure they didn't mean that." Aang said to them and then Sokka said to Aang. "Yeah, I think they did."

Back in a Fire Nation military port, Iroh was meeting with Zhao and told Zhao about what happened to Zuko, and Alex. As Zhao poured some tea for Iroh, he said to him. "I'm devastated to hear about Prince Zuko. Just devastated."

"The Fire Lord will not be pleased when he learns who was responsible."

"You know who was behind the attack?"

"Yes. Pirates. We had a run-in with them a while back. They wanted revenge." Iroh said and Zhao cracked a small smile. Zhao then took a drink and said to Iroh. "So, have you reconsidered my offer?"

"Yes, I accept. It will be an honor to serve as your general. To the Fire Nation."

"To victory!" Zhao said before they had a toast.

Back on the North Pole, Katara and Hoshi were giving their coats to Miguel and Saida, and Hoshi gave Centipod to Aang, as they were going to the courtyard outside of the palace. "Guys this is crazy. You might have numbers, but you might not win this fight." Sokka said to Katara and Hoshi. Hoshi then said to Sokka. "Maybe, but that's not stopping us."

"You guys don't have to do this for me. I can find another teacher." Aang said to them and Katara said to Aang. "We aren't doing it for you. Someone needs to slap some sense into that guy." Then Pakku showed up and Katara said to him. "So, you decided to show up?" Pakku then walked past them, and Hoshi said to him. "Where are you going?"

"Aren't you gonna fight?" Katara said to Pakku, who said to them as he walked away. "Go back to the Healing and Building Huts with the other women and Hex, where you two belong." Katara and Hoshi used the Water Whip on the back of Pakku's head. Pakku stopped and then said turning to them. "Fine. You two want to learn to fight so badly, study closely."

Pakku then attacked them using water from two giant water jars located in the area. Katara and Hoshi dodged it, and Waterbending it back to Pakka. Pakku dodged that and Katara and Hoshi ran around him. Katara and Hoshi then used a stream of water at Pakku. Pakku caused both water attacks to go into the air. Pakku then turned all of them into a water ring and trapped Katara and Hoshi inside with him. "Don't worry. I'm not going to hurt you two." Pakku said as he made the ring get small. Katara then used her Waterbending to break the ring. It worked, but the stream of water hit Sokka.

Hoshi then fired a water wave at Pakku, but Pakku turned that wave into ice. But Katara used that ice wave to appear behind Pakku and attack him with a few punches. As for Hoshi, he entered one of the water jars and started to make water balls and threw them at Pakku. Pakku was able to use some of Hoshi's water to push Katara into the other water jar and dodged Hoshi's attacks.

As for Katara, she got up from the water jar and made an ice pillar. She then Waterbend a little on the top and it made ice discs. She then threw those discs and Pakku. Pakku dodged those too, but he was starting to get annoyed. So Pakku Waterbending them both out of the jars and slammed them into the ground. They both then got up and Waterbend the ice towers at Pakku. Pakku quickly turned it all into snow and as the snow dissipated, Pakku said to them. "Well, I'm impressed. You both are excellent Waterbenders."

"But you still won't teach us, will you?" Katara said before Pakku said. "No."

"Then let's keep going." Hoshi said before both he and Katara attacked Pakku with a wave attack. Pakku made an ice pillar to dodge the wave. Pakku then moved forward. Katara and Hoshi tried to hit Pakku with a water attack, but Pakku used that water to make an ice track to hit them from the back. That attack caused Katara to lose her necklace and it fell to the ground. As Katara and Hoshi were getting up, Pakku made ice spikes to trap them and keep them from moving. It worked and as Katara and Hoshi tried to break free, Pakku said before he started to leave. "This fight is over."

"Come back here. I'm not finished yet." Katara said before Hoshi said. "I'm not done either."
"Yes. You both are." Pakku said before finding Katara's necklace. When Pakku saw it, he was shocked and said picking it up. "This is my necklace."

"No, it's not. It's mine. Give it back!" Katara said before Pakku said with great sorrow in his voice "I made this 60 years ago… For the love of my life… For Kanna."

"My Gran-Gran was supposed to marry you?" Katara said to Pakku as they were released from the ice.

Back at the Fire Nation military port, Iroh was on Zhao's command ship. He was walking in the lower levels and stopped with two guys in Firebender armor. They removed their mask and it was Zuko and Alex. They were alive, and had very few scrapes and bruises. Iroh then said to them. "Our plan is working perfectly. Zhao doesn't suspect a thing."

"You didn't have to do this." Zuko said before Alex said. "Yeah. If Zhao finds us, and learns you helped us. Then you will be in trouble too."

"No nephew or student of mine is going to stow away on a ship without some backup." Iroh said before Zuko said. "Thank you, Uncle." Then they heard a door open and after they put on their mask, Iroh said to them. "Someone's coming. Stay hidden until we get to the North Pole and the Avatar will be yours. Good luck." Then they walked away and it was going to be a very long trip.

Back at the North Pole, Pakku said to Katara. "I carved this necklace for your grandmother when we got engaged. I thought we would have a long happy life together. I loved her."

"But she didn't love you, did she? It was an arranged marriage. Gran-Gran wouldn't let your Tribe's stupid customs run her life. That's why she left. It must have taken a lot of courage." Katara said and for some reason Yue started to cry and left the area. "Go get her." Aang said to Sokka, who then ran after her. After a while, Sokka found Yue on the bridge from last night. When Yue saw Sokka, she said to him. "What do you want from me?"

"Nothing. I just want you to know I think you're beautiful. And I never thought a girl like you would even notice a guy like me."

"You don't understand."

"No, no. See, that's the thing. I think I do understand now. You're a princess and I'm… I'm just a southern peasant."

"No, Sokka."

"It's ok. You don't have to say anything. I'll see you around, ok." Sokka said before he started to leave. However before Sokka could take a step, Yue stopped him, turned him around and kissed him. Once the kiss was over, Sokka said to Yue. "Ok, now I'm really confused! Happy, but confused."

"I do like you… A lot! But we can't be together. And not for the reason you think. It's because… I'm engaged." Yue said, showing Sokka her betrothal necklace. "I'm sorry." Yue said before leaving. The following morning, Pakku was training Aang again. After Aang did a Waterbend move, Pakku said to Aang with a little laugh. "Not bad. Not bad. Keep practicing, and maybe you'll get it by the time you're my age." Then Katara and Hoshi appeared. Aang then said to them. "Hey guys."

"What do you think you two are doing? It's past sunrise. You're late." Pakku said as he started to train them too. Katara and Hoshi were happy to be part of the class and Aang was happy to have them with him. However unknown to anyone, Zhao had a mastiff fleet that was making its way to the North Pole, to take the Avatar and destroy the Northern Water Tribe.
