Val felt her annoyance rachet up when she could hear and sense the fighting and arguing when Gohan and Krillin finally showed up. Trapped inside the glass vial when time was of the essence and the Earth was at stake was the frustrating. It was worse than when she had to watch Goku on Namek in the healing room and could only just sense the others fighting with Frieza. The times Garlic Jr. pulled Kami out of his cloak, she felt a flare of jealousy go through her that at least he could see something. She kicked at the glass, huffing and feeling like the fish she had a while and the drink had even a lot longer ago, were forever ago. At least kicking something made her feel a little bit better.
She slouched against the glass, feet braced against the other side, fiddling with her bracelets on her wrists, slipping them on and off. She tapped her pockets, noticing her phone was not there. She suddenly realized she had given it to Yamcha before she went fishing and never got it back from him. She crossed her arms over her chest, looking around at the top of the vial, wanting to get out of it, even if Kami warned her off for even considering trying.
She jumped, hovering just under the dip of the neck of the glass, trying to reach her hand in it to get to the top, but her arm would not reach that far. She gave up, dropping down and then sitting back down, bored and restless from all the sounds and senses of the fighting she was missing. She was unsure what all she could fighting wise having plateaued for so long, but her hands. She looked down at them, feeling a flare of energy go up through them. Perhaps that could make a difference. She fiddled with her bracelets some more, sliding them on and off again with practiced precision. She had never used that to fight anyone or harm anyone really, which made her wonder if and how it would really work. To use it to intend harm another. She closed her fists, deciding she could and would if she had to. She had the ability, she had the strength, so she would use it if need be.
She leaned her head back against the glass, starting to feel drowsy on top of hungry and thirsty when suddenly she felt as if the whole world shifted on its axis. She felt dizzy, closing her eyes and bringing her hands up to her head to brace against the spinning.
The next thing she knew, she was standing upright, full sized between Kami and Mr. Popo. She fanned herself with her hands, liking to be in the cooler air in the room. She looked around, seeing a now normal looking Piccolo shoving Garlic Jr. away, Gohan and Krillin looking worse for wear, and two of the remaining Spice Boys around them. She stood herself at the ready to fight all while trying to assess the current situation, which was looking more in their favor. She did frown to herself, feeling like a downright idiot that she promised to save him, only to know it was all a rouse.
Then Piccolo told Kami to go off and deliver the sacred water. He grabbed it, Val making the impulsive decision to go with him, even as Garlic Jr. warned they were out of time to spread the sacred water over the Earth soon enough to save everyone who was affected. She slipped off her bracelets, pocketing them, figuring she could fight somehow with them and now was the time to use it.
Mr. Popo mentioned they could go through the Shinsenkai to pour the water through the seven air currents of the world, but the risk of dying down there, and having his soul trapped down there forever. Val listened in debating what to do, but felt like getting the sacred water delivered over the Earth as paramount. She felt her hands warm up, thinking barely before wrapping her hands over each of her wrists and cursing herself, "go with Kami down to the Shinsenkai, help him, and make it back to the top of the Lookout alive." She felt a sharp pull on her energy flame up and then release. It flashed by so fast, but it felt like it held.
"What?" Piccolo turned back, looking at her, make her feel suddenly nervous.
"Val, what did you just do?" Kami asked. "You can't go down there. You'll die."
She looked down at her hands and shook her head, "no I won't. And time is off the essence."
"Did it take hold or did it let go?" Piccolo asked.
She blinked up at him, not sure of the answer. "Yes," she half lied.
She felt her ears draw back with how hard both of them were looking at her. Piccolo gave in first. "There's no time to waste arguing then. You have to take her." She turned away from him, but felt him grab her by the wrist, drawing her attention back to her. She matched the grip on his wrist, nervous to even be touching him without bracelets on. He was not afraid of her. She intentionally kept her other hand as far away from him as possible. "The water has to get there," he told her.
She let go of his grip first, turning away from him. Mr. Popo summoned up his magic carpet to fly down to the Shinsenkai, with the others helping them get pasted Garlic Jr. and his two remaining fighters. She felt her stomach drop as flew deeper and deeper into the Lookout, wondering just how foolish of an idea this was after all, even if it was not going to kill her.
