In the cold unforgiving bowels of an apocalyptic world in what was once West City now a pile of rubble ravaged long ago by the androids.
Trunks stood there face to face with death which had a familiar face the deceased hero of Earth.
Son Goku.
As the imposter stood there he cackled manically "You will pay for your crimes against the gods your unauthorized time travel is a sin!"
"The hell are you talking about crimes against the gods my ass! And while I'm at it who are you?"
"The name's black no Goku Black!"
Trunks growled when he heard that and flew up toward the dark-clad madman and swung his sword covered in the blood of his enemies at Goku Black but not before he blocked with his ki sword and so the pair engaged in an intense albeit brief sword fight then Trunk's jumped back and shouted "Galick Gun!" hitting him point blank but not dealing serious damage then Goku Black shouted back "Kamehameha!" hitting the Saiyan back to the floor before the two charged back in engaging in a melee battle in which the imposter won the exchange and hit him away.
As Trunks stared into his opponent's eyes he remembered how he killed Mai his girlfriend in cold blood they barely even started dating and already she was taken away from him he growled in anger and tightened his grip on the blade and shouted "I'll mount your head on my blades edge!" He then opened up with a few ki blasts to blind him then went for a killing blow but his opponent roared exploding with power and the Saiyan was knocked back with ease.
As the imposter closed in Trunks realized he was out of his depth "What are you?" he growled annoyed Goku Black laughed heartily "I am the embodiment of divine justice the sovereign of tomorrow and enforcer of the god's wrath!" Trunks rolled his eyes "Always for grand speeches just like the others and looked where they ended up." "Yet here you are getting beaten into mush like the meat sack you are!" Goku Black replied.
Probably a good time to take my leave Trunks thought. So the Saiyan flew away with Black in pursuit but he had experience with what he liked to call "tactical retreat" so he quickly lost him and lowered his power so he would not be sensed before reaching base and seeing his beloved mother.
"Trunks are you alright?" Bulma asked, "How did the fight go?" Trunks sighed "Badly I'm completely outmatched I'll have to travel to the other timeline to warn them of his Goku Black." Bulma frowned "Alright then the time machine is back there but be careful." Trunks hugged his mother and then turned to his time machine "I'll be back Mum I promise!" Bulma smiled at her son "Will do." Trunks replied.
Just then a ki blast hit the time machine destroying it with ease Trunks and Bulma looked up in terror and saw the divine menace glaring back.
"So even under my nose, you try and misuse time? You mortals have no limits!" He fazed out and then appeared behind Bulma "If that's what you want I'll make you pay the ultimate price." He drew a ki blade and had it at Bulma's neck "Move a step and she dies mortal!" Trunks scowled "Let her go you monster!" Goku Black smirked "You're not in the position to be making demands boy!" "Kill him! Don't worry about me everything else matters more!" Bulma shouted, "I won't sacrifice you Mum not after everything!" Trunks replied stoically.
The imposter scowled "You mortals with all these emotions so complicated but watching scum like you suffer is the ultimate pleasure!" He then slit Bulma's throat blood splattering the lab and Goku Black's clothes before he then blew up what remained "That's the reminder of what happens when mortals go out of line!"
Trunks stood there shaking with anger uncontrollably as he replayed his mother's death on a loop in his mind his enhanced senses heard every drop of blood hit the floor and his mother's last breath.
"Don't fear Trunks" Goku Black cooed "I'll end your life soon enough as I'll end all mortals you fools live in an endless cycle of War Violence and Death! but your bloodline ends with you!"
Trunks uttered the first words he said since his mother's death "You monster I'll kill you!" His power began to rise and fluctuate as Goku Black laughed mockingly but the laugh turned to concern as his power rose 4 times past his SSJ 2 strength. Trunks yelled in anger his hair elongated and grew his eyebrows seemingly disappeared and as the transformation was complete a violent shaking coursed through the earth and now Trunks was an SSJ 3.
As Trunks turned towards Goku Black the god growled annoyed "So primal as is the way of mortal life!" Trunks glared back before fazing behind Goku black and stabbing him in the chest as he did to many foes before him as he drew the blade out of Goku Black's chest Trunks expected the God to fall but to his shock, he merely turned a sadistic smile painting his face.
"As I said primal and unrefined!" He smacked Trunks away and launched a Kamehameha but Trunks dodged and shouted "Super Buster Cannon!" as Goku Black shouted "Holy light grenade!" And threw the attack toward Trunks the impact of their moves caused a rift in space-time causing the Saiyan to be sucked towards the rift and as he entered said rift he went back to base about to black out a stray ki blast from Goku Black hit him doing severe damage as Trunks was sent hurtling through the void between worlds.
As Trunks began to wake up he saw that he was in space and heading towards a familiar-looking planet. Earth Trunks thought as the gravitational pull dragged him in Trunks was weakened but Super Saiyan was second nature so he easily transformed and gave himself a ki bubble so he could at least shield himself as he was too weak to fly at the moment as he fell he sensed many all 7 billion humans as there should be a feeling he hadn't felt for the longest time.
Trunks then woke up a bit more when he sensed some powers much higher than normal and one stronger than him stronger than "Goku Black" he said to himself maybe by chance, he ended up in the timeline where he helped save all those years ago from the androids then he looked at the city he was approaching and frowned that's not a city I've ever seen although it was beautifully made with skyscrapers that took the name literally but from what he remembered of the other timeline he took a trip around the world to see what everything looked like before the androids came then Trunks finally turned his attention to the main problem at hand he was going to crash he then looked at the rapidly approaching ground " Oh Crap Baskets!"
Trunks looked around and saw the terrified crowd which was fair enough he thought as a random man coated in a yellow aura that fell out of the sky wasn't normal he then saw a tall man wearing a blue suit with a red cape with a red cape and capital S insignia on his chest. Bet that stands for the spandex knight Trunks thought he chuckled out loud though although he was on edge since said man was stronger than Goku Black.
The man stood in front of him before asking "Who are you?" Trunks sighed "That's not important my question is who are you and how are you so powerful?"
"Well, the name is Superman and it's because I'm-" Trunks burst out laughing "That's your biological name?" Superman frowned "No it's my alias." Trunks grinned "Oh ok well I guess I shouldn't have laughed anyway considering my name." "And that would be?" Superman prompted "Nice try not telling." Trunks said serious once again "But I mean no harm and I intend to leave soon enough." "Ok but are you alien I assume you are?" Trunks tensed up "I was raised on earth actually but you speak like you are one?" "Well, I'm Kryptonian hence my strength as I tried to explain before." Trunks frowned "Never heard of it but alien species have weird names so fair enough anyway Superman I have never heard of you." "Yet you were raised on Earth?" Superman questioned Trunks nodded "Yup but that's enough questions." He then raised two fingers to his forehead locking onto a far-off ki signature "Wait can I at least have a name to the face?" Trunks smiled "Sorry no can do." before blinking out of existence.
Trunks appeared near an animal luckily for him and the half Saiyan looked around "Secluded enough." He said to himself before the toll of the recent fight got to him "Damn I should probably fix that up" he was cut off as he blacked out from how weary he was once again.
The Saiyan woke up and saw it was night time "Hope that guy doesn't go searching for me." His stomach then took the chance to rumble "Man I'm hungry Well I didn't live in an apocalyptic world for nothing. He then prepared his sword and went on the hunt near the nearby river.
The Saiyan scoffed down his newly cooked fish and grinned to himself in delight "Damn this is good!" before he went through the ten fish he hunted for "That's not nearly enough then he frowned and looked in his pocket "One Sensu bean left huh? probably should save that." Then he realized he packed little to nothing and as a result would have to use the natural resources around him.
The Saiyan after bathing in the freshwater river "No leeches at least." Trunks said satisfied before he dried himself up and gazed at the night sky seeing the countless stars he smiled "It's been so long since I've seen the stars."
