November 13th - 10:55 AM

The next day came and I, of course went to school. It was an average up until 3rd period. I went to my other Classes and then had lunch. It was mundane as usual. Currently, I sit in Ms. Cook's class staring out of the window.

Cook: -The history of neo city is a complicated one.

Cook: The world governments came together and wanted a neutral place to discuss issues, conflicts and policies. a sort of capital of the world. A place where all nations can gather.

I'm somewhat listening to my teacher go about the history of neo city while also staring out of the window.

Cook: The world governments envisioned this but they did have a problem. Most of the land in the world was taken.

Cook: There was one place that was suitable, the island of shinohara.

Cook: There were people here - The shinohara clan.

Cook: Regardless, the world's governments set up a city on this island and…..

Cael: (Hmmm…..)

In my mind, I thought of the history of our little island city. A place of harmony, meant for people from all over the world. Sounds noble and virtuous and yet… there does seem to be some sort of discord here, especially with the shinohara protectorate.

Cook: Tons of people from all over the world came to our precious little city.

Cook: Creating, this melting pot of paradise.

My teacher said that with a longing voice. I sighed and continued to stare out of the class window. I stare at a tree outside of the window. It lurches forward as a strong breeze hits its branches. Birds begin To fly away from the tree and a serene atmosphere begins to form outside.

Cook: Cael, Are you paying attention? Can you name what year the city was formally founded?

Cael: Umm… 2049?

Cook: Close. 2048.

She corrected me. 2048….. 12 years before I was born. It's amazing how young this city is.

Cook: Ah…. Our class is about to end. I suppose thats the end for this lesson. Your homework will be online.

As soon as she said that, The bell rung, signaling the end of class.

Cook: Goodbye everyone!

Cael: (Finally.)

Miss Cook waved to us as the class finally ended. I grabbed my bag and stood up then headed to the door. This class was certainly interesting to say the least. The history of neo city was one of complex relations and conflict. Even though I know it myself, I always do like hearing the story of this city retold over and over. It was fascinating.

I walked out into the hallway and looked around, A lot of people were walking past me, going to their next class, of course. I began to walk to the left, My next destination nation was the lunch room.

Suddenly, as I walked past a room with an open door, I heard a noise. I peaked inside of the room.

Ali: Hnnng! Hnnnng!

In the corner of the room, I see ali, struggling to lift some boxes. I enter and approach her.

Cael: Hey Ali. What are you doing?

Ali: I'm helping Ms. Yoringa with some of her science equipment. She needs to move it downstairs to her new classroom.

Cael: How many boxes have you moved so far.

Ali: Only two…. -And I'm already sore.

Cael: Let me help out.

Ali: Okay….

I went over to where the boxes were stacked and lifted one up. They were indeed heavy like Ali said but I felt that I could manage them. Over a period of 20 minutes, me and Ali took all the boxes from the upper floor to Miss Yoringa's classroom on the lower floor.
After doing that, we rested in the classroom. I was exhausted but happy that I was able to help Ali.

Ali: T-Thank you cael.

Cael: You're welcome but next time maybe we should skip out on the free labor, yeah?

I chuckled.

Ali: Sorry, I had to help miss yoringa. She's a wallflower like me.

Cael: Yeah, I bet she's like 100 pounds soaking wet.

Ali: Don't underestimate. Apparently she was a boxer at our age.

Cael: Woah really. Huh, I never would've guessed.

There was an awkward silence between after that sentence.

Ali: You and ohsaka seem to be getting along pretty well.

Ali said, changing the subject.

Cael: Oh you think.

Ali: Yes! You two have a lot in common.

Ali: Both of you are duelists, Both of you are um…. Actually that's it. Just dueling.

Cael: Heh, You're right. I do like her dueling skills.

Ali: Gosh, that's all a girl needs to get your heart? Being good at card games?

Cael: Ali… She's not 'getting my heart.'

I said with a slight blush on my cheek.

Ali: O-Oh yeah. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply….

She didn't finish her sentence.

Cael: Heh. I know. -But ohsaka also has a nice personality. She's cool, smart and collected.

Ali: Oh really. Is that all?

Cael: What else do you want me to say, ali?

Ali: I don't know…. It's just that ohsaka is so impressive!

Cael: Heh, You're not yourself, Ali.

I say, trying to flatter her. Ali's cheeks turn bright red and she looked to the side,

Ali: Q-Quiet!

Ali: i'm just a plant nerd with a penchant for kindness. I know that sounds cheesy but that's who I am, simple.

Cael: Yeah but that's where all of your charm comes in.

Cael: I love seeing you geek out over plants and flowers! It's so charming!

I said as ali continued to blush.

Cael: Ali, You always sell yourself short! I think you're Cool too.

Ali: You think so?

Cael: I know so.

I say as I look into her eyes.

Cael: I've known you since I was 8 and each second I get to know you is good.

Ali: Hmm.

Cael: Do you remember when we were 10 and we got lost in that cave?

Ali: Yeah and my mom had to come in and get us!

Ali laughed a hearty laugh. She placed her hand on her mouth and kept giggles. Remembering the gleeful memories we shared.

Ali: -And we both cried afterwards! We were sad in that moment but I find it endearing now.

Cael: Yeah….

The two of us shared a heartfelt moment of silence.

Ali: S-So….

Cael: I guess I'm done. I should head back to class.

I said while scratching my head.

Ali: Thank you cael.

Cael: Anytime, Ali.

I gave her a peace sign and headed out of the room. I was always proud to help my friends, No matter what. Destiny had something in store for me and them and I had to see it through.
