Episode 22: Which Wurmple's Which?
After winning her second badge, Mew and her friends decide to stay at Dewford Island a little longer to do some training and have some fun on the island. As of now, Mew and her friends are fast asleep in their room. Each of them sleeps on one of the beds. Soon, everyone begins to wake up from their sleep.
May gets up and yawns, "Morning."
"Morning everyone," Mew says.
Max wakes up and puts on his glasses, "Morning."
Everyone soon says good morning to each other.
"I slept really good last night," Tomo says.
"I think we all did," Mew says.
"I agree," May says.
"Can't wait to explore the island," Jen says.
"Yeah. I want to find some Pokemon," Max says.
"Good idea, but first, let's have breakfast," Mew says.
Everyone agrees with the idea.
Shortly everyone, everyone is having breakfast. All the humans are eating at a different table.
May soon got out of her seat and kneeled down to put more food in Wurmple's bowl.
"Good Wurmple. You got to keep eating if you want to evolve," May says as she pours more food into the bowl
"Wurmple!" (Thank you!) Wurmple happily says.
Molly giggles, "Wurmple sure sounds happy."
"Well once we're done eating we can do some training and some exploring," Max says.
"That's nice, but where?" Max asks.
"Brawly said anywhere is good for training on this island. Just using nature," Brock says.
Meanwhile, Wurmple is shown to have finished breakfast and was snoozing.
Soon, Max runs up, "Guess what!"
"What's going on, Max?" May asks.
"Well, Nurse Joy just told me that Steven is here on the island, doing some top-secret research," Max says..
"Steven?" Molly questions.
Soon, Brock remembers, "Oh! Steven Stone! His dad is Mr. Stone, the president of the Devon Corporation."
"I remember him. Mr. Stone back at Rustboro City," Mew says.
"Yeah, he's working in some place called Granite Cave," Max says.
"Well, I think we should go check it out!" Mew says.
"Great idea," Tomo says.
After Mew and her friends finish eating, Mew and the others make their way to Granite Cave to find Steven.
"Granite Cave is way out on the northwest end of the island. Nurse Joy told me that Steven's there, searching for some very rare stone," Max says.
"A rare stone?" May says, confused.
"Well, it sounds like he's searching for much more than just granite at the old Granite Cave, doesn't it?" Brock says.
"Yeah, you're right," Mew says.
Suddenly, they hear someone say, "Hello?"
Everyone stops when an old man is seen standing in front of them.
"Are you youngsters out sightseeing, by any chance?" The man asks.
"Sorta," Mew answers.
"Well, you know, this part of the island happens to be famous for all of its water Pokémon," the old man says.
"Really?" May asks.
"That's so cool!" Max says, taking an interest.
Then Jen asks, "Do you think it's okay to go fishing for them?"
"It is," The old man says, "And I'd be more than happy to loan you folks my fishing rods."
"Gee, thanks," Max says.
"That's really nice of you," May says.
"I don't see why," Mew says.
"Yeah Brawly told us yesterday when he said that even play can become training?" Brock says.
"Let's take a break and do some fishing!" Tomo says.
Unknown to the group, as the gang agrees, Jessie and Meowth were watching from a bush behind the old man.
"Well, what do you know? They took the bait," Jessie says.
"Dey fell for it, hook, line and sinka!" Meowth says.
Soon, Mew and her friends begin finishing.
Mew then has an idea, "Hey, I know!" And calls out one of her Pokemon, "Treecko, come on out."
Treecko comes out and puts his twig in his mouth.
"Treecko, since the weather's so great, why don't you stay outside with us and enjoy the sunshine?" Mew says.
"Pika Pika," (It'll be fun.) Pikachu says.
"Tre...Treecko!" (With... pleasure!) Treecko says as he lies on his back.
Max says to May, "Now, May, you gotta hold the line still, and when you feel the first tug, don't pull it out, okay?"
"Don't tell me what to do, Max. I am older, and I do know how to fish, thank you," May says, annoyed.
"Yeah, but this is real fishing, not pretending to fish with your dolls," Max points out.
"Same idea!" Mays.
Soon, May's line soon gets tugged hard.
May says in surprise, "Whoa! I think I got one!"
"Hold on!" Mew says.
"Must be huge!" Max says.
May finally pulls her catch out of the water, revealing it to be an Octillery.
"Look, May! You caught an Octillery!" Max says.
"Way to go!" Jen says.
May brings out her Pokedex and Dextette says, "Octillery, the Jet Pokémon. A Water Type. Octillery attaches its tentacled feet to its opponent before attacking with its hard head."
The Octillery looks around.
"With Pokémon fishing, it's not enough just to catch something, you have to battle it, too," Brock says.
"Oh, you do?" May questions.
"Yep," Mew says.
"Fine!" May says, and calls out her Pokemon, "Wurmple, come on out!"
Wurmple comes out right as the Octillery attaches itself to Max's face.
Max cries out, "Get it off!" But realizes something, "Hey! Octillery's using its Constrict attack! Andi it's working!"
Mew turns to Max, "You gotta use an attack, May! And Fast!
Mew calls out, "String Shot?"
Wurmple launches the silk, but the Octillery moves, and it gets on Max's head, shoulders and arms.
"Attack Octillery, not me!" Max cries out.
"Oh, no. Sorry," May says, sheepishly, "This attack stuff isn't easy."
The Octillery charges in with a Headbutt, nailing Max on the head and nearly knocks him out.
In a panic, Max says, "I know that they say that Octillery are hard-headed and, just so you know, they weren't kidding."
The Octillery dives back into the sea.
"Octillery!" May calls out.
As May calls out, the group heads to the ledge and watches.
"I can't believe it got away," Max says. Then turns back to the others, "Alright, back to the poles!"
"Do we have to?" May asks, reluctantly.
Soon, the group is back fishing. Now Mew suddenly gets a bite.
"Hey! Got one!" Mew calls out.
"Reel it in!" May says.
"Here it comes!" Mew says and reels it in, "Yes!"
And soon, Mew reels in a Water Pokemon. A red-shelled, crustacean Pokémon with a short tail similar to a lobster. Its eyes are saucer-like with small pupils, and it has three spikes on top of its head. It possesses four pairs of limbs in total: two large pincers used for gripping prey, and three pairs of legs used for walking. The upper segments of its legs, the underside of its body, and lower halves of its pincers are cream-colored.
"A Corphish! Cool!" Brock says.
Mew brings out her Pokedex and Dextette says, "Corphish, the Ruffian Pokémon. A Water Type. Corphish uses its sharp pincers to capture prey. It can happily live even in very polluted waters."
The Corphish soon charges at Max and pinches his rear as he tries to run away.
"And it's, got a really mean Vice Grip, too," Max says.
"Eevee! Help Max, quick!" Mew calls out.
"Eevee!" (On it!) Eevee charges into action.
Corphish charges at Eevee and swipes at him with his claws before turning toward May.
May panics and pulls Max in front of her, "Max, you like this kind of stuff!"
"I do?!" Max cries out.
The Corphish heads toward Treecko, who leaps out of its path, causing it to head towards Mew, Eevee, and Pikachu again.
"Pikachu, Thunderbolt attack, now!" Mew calls out.
But as Pikachu charges its Thunderbolt, Corphish lands a shot.
"Yikes! That's Crab Hammer!" Mew cries out.
Treecko manages to stop Pikachu's flight by using his tail.
"Pika Pika?" (Just like Kingler?) Pikachu says.
"Eevee," (But harder) Eevee says.
The Corphish dives back into the sea.
"And now, Corphish is gone, too," Tomo says.
"I'm not too broken up about it," May says.
"You know, sometimes it's better to just leave things to nature," Max replies.
"Third time's a charm. What do you say we get back to fishing?" Brock says.
"Okay!" Everyone agrees.
And soon, everyone continues with their fishing. Unbeknownst to them, Team Rocket was watching the whole thing.
What gives? They're catching an awful lot of Pokémon over there, James," Jessie questions.
"It's all luck. I simply just pointed out some random spots, and that's one of them," James says.
"It'd be nice if you had dat sort of luck wit us sometimes," Meowth says.
"Who cares about what could've been? Everything is going exactly how I planned it. They'll be in for a big surprise the next time they feel a tug on those lines," Jessie says.
Then explains, "Listen up. First, we'll nibble at the twerps' hook, then we grab the line and pull them in! It's really cold in the water. Hope all of them can swim. And their Pokéballs will float into our net, and we'll have to rescue poor Pikachu and Eevee who be exhausted. No need to thank us, towel please. And I know that this time, Team Rocket's ship has finally come in!"
"That's good, I'm seasick," James says.
"Great plan!" Meowth says, "And woithy of a name as grand as da plan, how about Da Phony Fishing Leaves da Twerps Wishing dey had a Pikachu and Eevee Plan! Okay?"
"Woooobbuffet!" (Way too long!) Wobbuffet says.
Mew and the others continue fishing. Soon, Mew ends up getting a bite.
"I've got something!" May says, but shrieks as the line is tugged harder, "It's tugging hard!"
"Don't let it go, May! Hold on to it!" Max calls out.
"That's, easier said than, done!" May cries out.
"Let me help!" Max says as he grabs the pole.
Jen does the same, "I'll help too."
Wurmple also helps pull the pole.
Mew also grabs the pole, "Hang on!"
"We got you!" Tomo says, doing the same.
"Hold on!" Molly calls out.
Brock also grabs the pole, "Okay, pull!"
"Everyone present pulls, unaware that they're falling for Team Rocket's trap.
"Kids today are so naïve. Ready to take them for a swim?" Jessie says.
"Yup!" The boys agree.
Team Rocket pedals hard as the group keeps pulling.
"This is a really big one!" Mew says.
"A really big one!" Tomo says.
Mew and her friends keep pulling and pedaling, respectively, as hard as they can, but soon, the pedals break on Team Rocket.
"Huh?" Team Rocket says, and sees the broken pedals, "NOT NOW!"
"Abandon ship!" Jessie cries out.
"Am I a sissy if I don't?" James asks,
"Dat ship's already sailed!" Meowth cries out.
"Hey, it's coming up!" May says.
"Just keep hanging on, guys!" Brock says.
Soon, Team Rocket's sub surfaces.
"Whoa, boy!" Max says, in surprise.
"That is one big Magikarp!" May adds, surprised.
But Mew says, "Hold on, that's no Magikarp!"
"It's Team Rocket's submarine!"
And right on cue, Team Rocket emerges, and performs the motto.
Jessie:
You're right, it is, so prepare for trouble with a capital letter!
James:
You can make that a double cause what I say is; what's bigger is always better!
Jessie:
To protect the world from devastation.
James:
To unite all peoples within our nation.
Jessie:
To denounce the evils of truth and love.
James:
To extend our reach to the stars above.
Jessie:
Jessie!
James:
James!
Jessie:
Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light. Ha!
James:
Surrender now, or prepare to fight, fight, fight!
Meowth:
Meowth! Dat's right!
"Team Rocket!" The group cries out.
"Uh huh. It is, and the way the plan was supposed to work was to pull you into the sea and steal all your Pokéballs!" Jessie says.
"Right! It was brilliant when we secretly strengthened those rods and reels!" James says.
"Yeah. But den, you ended up reeling us in instead," Meowth says and lets out a sigh.
Then Jessie says, "And so, now…"
Team Rocket leaps onto the ledge.
"We'll just have to capture Pikachu and Eevee the old-fashioned way!" Jessie says.
James soon tosses the net, "With a net!"
Pikachu and Eevee are soon captured.
"Hurry, Pikachu, Eevee, Thunderbolt em!" Mew calls out.
Pikachu and Eevee try, but nothing happens.
"That's not gonna work!" Jessie says.
"Because in this case, old-fashioned means electricity-proof," James says, and pulls them in
Pikachu and Eevee cry out, "Pika Pi!/Eevee! (Mew!)
"Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew calls out.
Treecko steps in.
"Treecko, help me out!" Mew says.
"Treecko! ("No problem!") Treecko says.
"Go! Quick Attack, now!" Mew calls out.
Treecko dashes forward and nails James, forcing him to let the net go, allowing Pikachu and Eevee to escape.
"Pikachu! Eevee!" Mew calls out.
All three land on their feet.
"Great Job, Treecko," Mew says.
"Treecko." (Thank you.)
"Now yous made me mad! We'll just take all da rest of your Pokémon!" Meowth says as he unsheathes his claws.
May picks up her Wurmple, "Back off, whiskers! No one's gonna get close to my cute little Wurmple!"
"Your cute little Wurmple? Ha! My Wurmple is much cuter than your Wurmple could ever be!" Jessie says and gets out its Pokéball, "Come out, Wurmple."
And Jessie'Wurmple comes out.
"You couldn't possibly be talking about that Wurmple, could you?" May says.
"Yes, I am!" Jessie says, walking to May, "And anyone can see that my Wurmple's far better looking!"
"Well, my Wurmple's a lot smarter than yours," May says.
"My Wurmple's attending night school to earn its PHD!" Jessie says.
While the two argue, the others just stand by in bewilderment.
"My Wurmple is always polite, has very good manners and shares with others," May says.
Jessie chuckles and says, "Oh, is that right? My Wurmple has been raised much more carefully and is much more refined!"
"Well, I read books to my sweet Wurmple every day!" May says.
"And I take my Wurmple for very long walks!" Jessie argues.
"My Wurmple is just happier," May argues.
"And my Wurmple has never cried even once, see?" Jessie argues.
Max soon gets between them, "Stop it!"
"What is it, Max?" May asks.
Max then instructs the girls, "Put both Wurmple down on the ground."
"Okay," Both May and Jessie reply.
Then each of them place their Wurmple down. Max examines and takes measurements of both Wurmple.
"After careful examination and comparison, I have determined both Wurmple are exactly the same," Max says
"What?" The girls reply in shock.
Jessie refuses to believe it, "That's preposterous! Then we'll just have to settle this with a battle, little miss kerchief! Wurmple, String Shot, go!"
Jessie's Wurmple fires, but May and Max both get out of the path of the shot.
"How dare you!" May angrily says, "Wurmple, use your String Shot!"
May's Wurmple fires, and hits Jessie
"Oh, yeah?" James says and brings out the net.
Treecko, right as soon as James made a move, spat his twig out, hitting James' hand and forcing him to drop the net.
"Treecko, Quick Attack, go!" Mew calls out.
Treecko darts forward, nailing both James and Meowth. But Meowth ends up landing on both Wurmple, causing them to get mixed up, to the shock of their trainers.
"Wurmple!" Jessie calls out.
"Are you okay?" May asks.
Jessie picks up Meowth and Wurmple, "Consider this battle to be continued! Goodbye!" and runs back to the sub with James behind her.
"Come back here! Go, Pikachu, Eevee, Thunderbolt em!" Mew calls out.
Both Pikachu and Eevee launch their attacks, land and destroy Team Rocket's submarine before sending the crooks flying.
"Team Rocket's shipping out again!" Team Rocket cries out.
After that, everyone begins packing up their things.
May checks on her Wurmple, "Wurmple, are you okay?"
When Wurmple speaks up, something seems off about the way it speaks.
Soon, everyone finishes preparing to head off.
"Should we get going?" Jen asks.
"Yeah," Brock says.
Their attention is soon drawn over to May, looking at Wurmple strangely.
"What's going on, May?" Mew asks.
May then gives 'her' Wurmple a bowl of food, "Here, Wurmple, some food."
Wurmple starts to eat, but slower than before.
"Okay. Something's very wrong," May says.
"Cause it's not hungry?" Molly asks.
"My Wurmple is always hungry," May answers.
"Alright. So, what do you think the problem is, May?" Max asks
"The problem is, this isn't my Wurmple," May says.
"What?!" Everyone exclaims in shock.
"I can't really explain it, but something just doesn't feel right," May says.
And Brock says, "Well, you could tell for sure if you try putting it into its Pokéball."
"That's right," Max says.
"If it goes into its Pokéball no problem, then you'll know it's your Pokémon," Mew says.
May then gets out her Pokeball, "Okay, I'll try," and recalls Wurmple, "Wurmple, return."
The recall beam hits, but Wurmple isn't pulled into the ball, surprising everyone.
"Didn't work!" Jen says, shocked.
"Then that means," Tomo says, stunned.
"It's really not your Wurmple!" Brock says.
"But how…" Max asks, but soon realizes something, "Uh, oh, May! During that battle, your Wurmple must've switched with Team Rocket's!"
May gets up, "It'll be okay. Don't worry, Wurmple, I'll come and find you!"
Meanwhile, Team Rocket was sulking after they landed, unaware that they had the wrong Wurmple.
"Why did we blow our entire budget on reinforcing those dumb fishing rods?" James asks.
"No kidding," Meowth says, "We shoulda spent it on reinforcing da pedals on dat Magikarp sub."
"Now, now, what is money compared to having our cute little Wurmple here safe and sound, right?" Jessie says, snuggling with her Pokemon
"I suppose," James says. Then has an idea, "I know! Let's celebrate with some cookies," He reaches into his back pocket.
"Desoit? I'm feeling bettah!" Meowth says.
James pulls out the cookies, but May's Wurmple eats them all.
"Hey!" Meowth cries out.
After finishing it off, May's Wurmple falls asleep.
James and Meowth cry out in shock, "It ate them all!"
"Oh, my, what a... healthy appetite," Jessie says.
Meowth glares at Jessie, "What are you gonna do about dis, Jess? I wanted one of dose cookies!"
"It's going through a growing phase, what can I do?" Jessie says.
But James realizes something, "Something about this Wurmple... I'm thinking it might not be yours, Jessie."
"Now dat you mention it…" Meowth says.
But Jessir refuses believe it, "Don't be ridiculous! Of course, this Wurmple is mine! Who else could it belong to?"
"Well, um…" James says.
Jessie says to Wurmple, "Wake up, my sweet little Wurmple."
May's Wurmple soon wakes up.
"Come here, give me a hug," Jessie says.
But May's Wurmple doesn't do anything.
"See? I'm thinking it might even be afraid of you," James says.
Jessie gasps, "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that vicious comment."
"I'll give Wurmple a little test, okay?" Meowth says and walks to May's Wurmple, "Wurmple, tell me who your trainer is."
"Wurmple Wurmple," (I'm still hungry.) May's Wurmple answers.
"Well, Meowth?" James asks.
"It's saying dat it's still hungry," Meowth says.
Jessie and James spaz out in disbelief.
Wobbuffet then says, "Wobbuffet" (It's not ours!)
Elsewhere, Mew and the others are trying to look for Team Rocket so they can get May's Wurmple back, and returns Jessie to her.
"Where could Team Rocket be hiding?" May asks.
Brock scoffs, "You never know where those three will turn up."
"Yeah. Usually, they find us," Tomo says.
Soon, Mew's Taillow, Tomo's Pidgey, Zephyr, and Molly's 'M' Unown return.
"Taillow, did you three find Team Rocket?" Mew asks.
All three confirm that they haven't
"Not yet, huh," Mew says.
Soon, May begins to worry, "My poor Wurmple."
May then remembers all the times she and Wurmple had together.
May says, "I admit at first, I was a bit surprised by Wurmple, but with Torchic's help, I caught it, and I've really enjoyed raising it."
Flashback ends.
May's eyes begin earring up, "What a mess. I can't believe that my poor Wurmple is with Team Rocket now. If I don't get it back soon, I don't know what I'm gonna do."
Meanwhile, with Team Rocket…
"Oh boy. I'm hungry," James says.
"Now I know what delirious feels like," Meowth says.
Jessie hugs May's Wurmple, "Aw. My hungry little Wurmple. I remember the day I found you like it was only yesterday, though it was just ten."
James and Meowth look at Jessie like she's crazy as she goes into a made-up fantasy about how she met Wurmple.
Jessie says, "It was a summer evening on Starlit Hill. I, of course, looked beautiful. As I gazed across the rose garden, there you were, the cutest little Wurmple I ever seen! The end."
Fantasy ends
"Starlit Hill? I've never heard of such a place," James says.
"Me, neither," Meowth says.
"Yes, you're definitely my cute Wurmple. I could never mistake you for another Pokémon," Jessie says.
Unknown to them, Taillow, Zephyr, and Unown spot the three and fly back to their trainers as quickly as they can. Once they return, the three explain what they find.
"Really? You found team Rocket?" Mew asks.
The three nod in response.
"Good, come on!" May says.
Back to Team Rocket…
"Hey, uh, Jessie?" James responds.
"Dat story you told…" Meowth says.
Suddenly, Jen shouts, "Team Rocket!"
Team Rocket look behind to see Mew and the gang.
Team Rocket cries out, "It's the Twerps!"
Jessie gets up and says, "How nice of you to bring us Pikachu and Eevee, but we would've been happy to come and get it."
But May says, "We're here to exchange Wurmples, Jessie. In case you haven't noticed that one is mine and this one is yours."
"Knew it!" James and Meowth call out.
"Of course. This Wurmple so clearly lacks the superior breeding that mine had," Jessie says.
James and Meowth spaz out in disbelief.
And May says, "Look, let's just trade so we can get this whole thing over with, okay?"
"Sure, but don't try any tricks or funny stuff because I still have your precious Wurmple, understand me?" Jessie says.
"And I've got yours, same goes for you," May says.
"Alright, then, let's step forward and exchange them now," Jessie says.
Max then asks May, "Are you sure about this, May? You can't trust Team Rocket."
"It's okay, I know she still wants to get her Wurmple back, too," May says.
"Alright, go," Jessie says.
"Kay," May says.
Both walk forward and stop with at least one foot separating them.
"We'll make the trade on two," Jessie says.
"Agreed," May says.
Jessie and May says, "One…"
"Two!" The girls say, and hold out her Wurmple.
But Jessie takes her Wurmple and keeps May's.
"Hey! Give it back!" May cries out.
Jessie trips her up.
"Whoop!" Jessie says, and runs away laughing.
"Cheater!" Max cries out.
"Get back here!" Molly calls out.
"That's right, but now I have twice the Wurmple and twice the fun! Thank you!" Jessie says.
James and Meowth follow close behind.
Jessie calls out, "Now pick up the pace, you slowpokes! Let's get out of here!"
"We're coming!" James says.
"Hey! Dis is no fair! Yous two have legs dat are a lot longer den mine!" Meowth calls out.
May soon gets back up.
Mew rushes over, "May, are you okay?"
"I'm fine," May says.
She then calls out towards Team Rocket, "Give back my Wurmple!"
The group gives chase but soon see Team Rocket laughing in their balloon as they take off.
"See ya!" Team Rocket calls out.
"Stop! Bring back my Wurmple, you thief!" May calls out.
"Why would I do that? I'm happy to have two," Jessie says.
Then Meowth says, "I know what we can do! We'll give dat Wurmple to da boss!"
"Do you think he'd appreciate a Wurmple?" James asks.
Meowth fantasizes the possibility as he says, "Of course. One morning, he might wake up and realize that one of his pajama buttons is loose. And den, on da spot, Wurmple will provide some silk as da tread he needs to sew that button back into place, and den he'll say; 'Meowth and his friends, the ones who gave me this here Wurmple, are truly essential to Team Rocket.'"
Fantasy ends.
"We'll be promoted, maybe even become officers or administrators!"" Jessie happily says.
"With a big raise!" Meowth says.
James is doubtful of it, "I'm not sure."
Mew calls out, "Taillow…"
"Zephyr!" Tomo calls out.
"Use Wing Attack, now!" They both call out.
Both Pokemon zoom forward and slice a slit in the balloon.
Team Rocket panics, "Huh? NO!"
As Team Rocket shouts, they crash land
"Good, let's go," Mew says.
"Wurmple!" May calls out.
Everyone runs to the scene of the crash. At the crash site, Team Rocket is unconscious, and the Wurmple are spread out as the group arrives.
"Wurmple!" May calls out and picks up her Wurmple, "Hello."
"Wurmple," (Hey, May.) Wurmple says.
May snuggles Wurmple, "I missed you."
Soon, Jessie gets up, "Hey, kid, drop the Wurmple! Go, Seviper!"
And Seviper comes out.
Tomo calls out, "Zephyr, Quick Attack, now!"
Zephyr darts in.
Jessie calls out, "Seviper, Haze attack!"
Seviper manages to blind Zephyr, stopping its attack.
"Zephyr!" Tomo calls out.
Mew then calls out, "Treecko, come on out!"
And Zephyr comes out.
Mew calls out, "Treecko, give Zephyr a hand!"
"Treecko." (Sure thing.) Treecko says.
"Pound attack, now!" Mew calls out.
Treecko smacks Seviper hard in the face with his tail.
James then calls out, "Now, Cacnea, go!"
Cacnea comes out, but clings to the back of James instead.
"Not me, them!" James cries out.
"Ready Zephyr!" Tomo says.
Zephyr is able to come out of the haze.
James calls out, "Cacnea, Pin Missile!"
Cacnea launches the attack, but Zephyr dodges.
Jessie calls out, "Seviper, Poison Tail!"
Seviper charges in, but Treecko avoids the attack.
"Go, Pound attack!" Mew calls out.
Treecko smacks Seviper in the face again with its tail.
Tomo calls out, "Go Zephyr!"
Zephyr then flies out and takes flight at top speed.
"Look Zephyr is moving faster!" Molly says.
"Zephyr is learning Ariel Ace!" Jen says.
Zephyr darts forward and nails Cacnea, while Seviper joins it as they both fly into Team Rocket.
"Pikachu! Eevee! Finish it off with a Thunderbolt!"
Both attack land and create an explosion that sends Team Rocket flying once more.
"Well, dis feels familiar," Meowth says.
"Yes, but this time's a bit different. I've got my cute little Wurmple with me," Jesise says.
James doesn't really feel the same, "Oh, joy."
"Team Rocket's blasting off again!" Team Rocket cries out.
"Way to go, you guys," Mew says.
Tomo says, "You were great, Zephyr, and you learned a new attack."
Zephyr agrees and soon begins to glow, surprising everyone.
"Zephyr!" Tomo says, surprised.
"Zephyr's is evolving!" Max says.
Zephyr grows larger as she spreads her wings. Soon, Zephyr has evolved to Pidgeotto.
"Wow. you evolved. You're Pidgeotto now!" Tomo says.
"Congrats Zephyr!" Mew says.
"That's great," Brock says.
Later that evening…
"Wurmple, I'll bet you're super hungry by now," May says and puts down a bowl of its food, "Here you go."
Wurmple eats everything in the whole bowl and falls to sleep, content.
"Yep, that's definitely my Wurmple," May says.
"I'm impressed, May," Molly says, "How'd you know so quickly that it wasn't your Wurmple?"
"I've been raising it every day. How could I not?" May says,
"It's the bond between Pokémon and trainer," Brock says.
"I agree," Mew says.
"You're starting to look more and more like a trainer every day, May," Max says.
"I feel it too, you know?" May says and picks up her sleeping Wurmple, "Wurmple, I think it's mostly 'cause of you. And I can't wait to get back to training."
Wurmple agrees.
Reunited with her Wurmple along with Tomo's Pidgey Zephyr evolved into Pidgeotto, May realized how deeply she cares about all her Pokémon. The group of friends' adventures on Dewford Island are just beginning.
