The email wasn't going to be very long, JJ was sure of that. She really just wanted to note a few things down and send it off, hopefully before Will finished in the bathroom. She didn't even have much to say- not really. It was more of an "I'm still here" sort of thing.

Hey, Pen,

Just wanted to let you know that I arrived safe and have been here for a week now. It's been amazing, being so far from DC. I'm more relaxed and so much happier! Life here is fast-paced, yet calm. I'm really enjoying myself. Can you believe I went out on the town and looked at all the sights just like a tourist would?!

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I'm okay. I promise to talk to you soon, if I don't get swept up in things here.

See you soon,

Jennifer.

JJ looked over her short email one more time and smiled. She knew that Garcia was going to have a lot of questions for her when she eventually returned to DC, but that was okay. Her friend had earned the right to ask those questions. And she would be ready to answer those questions, she would. Just not today.

Sending off the email, JJ turned off the laptop and walked out of the study, almost colliding with Will. Laughing, she let him wrap her in a hug that was warm and loving.

"Done what you needed to do?" Will asked.

"Yes. I just sent off an email, from my own email. You might have to sign back into yours," answered JJ.

"No worries." Will kissed her head. "What do you feel like eating for dinner, darlin'?"

"Anything you want. I'm not fussy."

"Well then... we shall go out and eat at my favourite diner tonight. Let me get dressed, then we can go."

Garcia smiled when the email notification popped up in the corner of her laptop screen. She was at home, curled up on the couch with a book. It had been a long week without JJ around- the atmosphere was tense and half the team was upset. Things had gone from bad to worse with an anonymous complaint filed against Hotch, which Garcia was sure had come from Emily, and everyone had been at each other's throats. It amazed her to see all of this happening when nobody wanted to admit that they needed JJ, since she was clearly the glue holding the team together. Or maybe the tension was worse now that there was no media liaison to filter the horror coming from potential cases? Regardless, the week had dragged and Garcia was glad that the weekend arrived when it did.

"Hey, JJ," Garcia said softly as she opened the email.

Reading the email brought tears of happiness to Garcia's eyes. She was glad that her friend was doing well, even if she was desperate for JJ to come back. Goodness knew, the woman needed a decent break. Garcia was sure that JJ had a boyfriend in New Orleans, even though she couldn't figure out how that had occurred, and the email all but confirmed that suspicion. Garcia typed out a quick response to let her friend know the email had been received and sat back, contemplating how to help her friend feel more comfortable when she returned.

"Dinner was amazing, Will," JJ said as they slowly walked back to his home.

"It always is at that place. The owner has been running it since I was a kid. It's home to me," replied Will with a smile.

"Do you ever think about how our relationship is going to work with us being in different states?" JJ asked after a few moments of silence.

"Yes. And I think I have a solution." Will stopped walking and pulled JJ down onto a bench with him. "I will move to DC."

JJ stared at him in shock. "What?! I can't ask you to do that, Will."

"You aren't asking, and I'm telling you. I haven't got my father here anymore, my mother moved to Florida after his death. I don't really have friends here. I can work as a detective anywhere."

"Your life is here."

"My life was here. Ever since meeting you, my life is now wherever you are." Will shrugged. "The heart wants what the heart wants."

JJ felt a warmth in her heart as she gazed into his sincere eyes. "You mean that?" she asked.

"I do. It won't be right now, I have to fill out paperwork to be transferred to Metro PD and I have to sell my place and find somewhere to live..."

"You would live with me, Will. Even if it's just until you get your own place, or you could just live with me forever."
