It was a gloomy day in London. The clouds were covering most of the sky. Remus Lupin sighed as he walked down the cobblestone streets. His cane hit the ground as he looked around him. There weren't a lot of people around. Some days he didn't mind, but today he did. He was looking for food for his master. He ran his hand over his scarred face. "I hope Lord Black will understand," he muttered to himself, before walking up to their abandoned hotel. Vines covered the bottom and were spreading up to the rotting wood. They would need to find a new place soon, but Remus knew that Lord Black didn't care. Remus looked up to the sky as he walked up the cracked steps. The sun was setting. He sighed again and opened the door.

"Lord Black?" he asked gently, knocking on his master's room. He waited a few seconds before Lord Sirius Black stepped out.

"Hello Remus," he said, voice smooth. Remus nodded and put his hands behind his back. Remus hid his nerves, but he knew that his master could feel it. "No one? Again. What is wrong with you humans," Lord Black said with a sigh.

"I don't know," Remus answered, not meeting his eyes. "There was something off though," Remus added as he walked into the drawing room with Sirius. "Do you need anything? We have some spare blood downstairs," Remus asked as he lit the fireplace. Lord Black smiled at him.

"Yes. Is Harry asleep?" Lord Black asked. Remus nodded. Harry Potter was Lord Black's Godson. They both looked after him.

"Yes, I put him to bed after I left, but he seemed off," Remus said, handing him a blood bag. Lord Black hummed.

"Did he say anything?" Lord Black asked. Remus thought for a moment. The eleven-year-old had said that the scar on his forehead was hurting. It could just be phantom pain, but he sensed something while he was out as well.

"He said that his scar was hurting, and I felt something off when I was out," Remus said, standing behind Lord Black. The vampire hummed. However, before he could say anything, a cry was heard from one of the rooms upstairs.

"Harry?!" Both Lord Black and Remus called as they ran up the old stairs to the boy's room.

Harry was crying when they both ran into the hotel room. The lights were off, but the window was open. "Harry," Lord Black said, walking into the room. Remus turned on the light but remained in the doorway. His hands crossed over his chest. However, there was a worried look on his face.

"There…there was a man in here," Harry whimpered. Lord Black looked at Remus and gave him a nod. Remus nodded and left the room.

"Did he hurt you?" Sirius asked, wiping the tears from Harry's eyes. Harry shook his head. "Good," Sirius added, pulling him into his arms.

"He…He looked like the man that hurt you and Mr. Remus," Harry said pulling Sirius out of his arms.

"Was he short and looked like a rat?" Sirius asked, standing up and looking out the window. Harry nodded slowly. Sirius bared his fangs. "He wanted you, Pup. I'm glad that we were here." Sirius said, walking back to Harry's bed. "Don't worry, Remus will get him, and you will be safe," Sirius told Harry before he sat down on the other bed. "I'll be here, don't worry," Sirius said as he waited for Harry to fall asleep.

Remus sighed when he saw Wormtail standing by the pool, wringing his hands. "The master will not be happy," he was muttering. Remus rolled his eyes and walked up to him.

"How dare you!" Remus said. His voice was calm, yet there was anger and pain behind it. Wormtail turned around and Remus thought he could not get paler. This made Remus roll his eyes again.

"Lupin," Wormtail said, trying to show his fangs, but he failed. Remus laughed.

"I'm not scared of vampires. Now, why did you try to attack Harry?" Remus asked, crossing his arms.

"I didn't mean to. I was…" Remus walked closer, cutting him off.

"Remus, someone is here," Remus nodded and shook his head at Wormtail before he ran back to the hotel.

Sirius was about to leave Harry's room when he heard someone walk in. "Lord Black," a low growl made him stop. Sirius turned around fast and bared his fangs.

"Get away from him!" Sirius demanded. Greyback, however, only laughed.

"I don't want him. The little brat," Greyback said walking closer to Sirius. Sirius, however, shook his head.

"Where's your servant?" Greyback asked. Sirius sighed but didn't say anything as Remus ran into the room and glared at Greyback.

"You," Remus shouted, walking closer to him. Sirius, however, held him back. "What are you doing here?" Remus demanded. Greyback didn't say anything.

"I want you, Lupin." They both shook their heads. "I made Lord Black; I can make you too."

"He is not yours!" Sirius yelled, forgetting that Harry was asleep. Remus blushed and Sirius laughed a little.

"Oh, so he's yours then? Why isn't he a vampire, then?" Remus looked at Sirius and shook his head.

"Get out of here. Or I'll make you," Sirius warned him. Greyback laughed before he jumped out of the window.

"You're not done with me!" He yelled. At this moment, Harry woke up. Fear showed in his green eyes.

"We're here, Pup, we are here," Sirius said, pulling Harry into his arms.

Remus was sitting by the fire watching Lord Black lost in thought. "He'll be back," Remus said slowly. Lord Black nodded.

"We will be ready. No one is taking my family," Remus smiled at him.

"Do you need anything, Lord Black?" Remus asked. Sirius shook his head and watched Remus walk up the stairs. He must be ready.
