Catra looked at herself in the mirror, as she turned around, the red and black tuxedo fitting nicely to her body. Maybe a little bit tight, because of a certain someone growing inside her but it was worth it. Being uncomfortable was better than a bunch of princesses noticing any differences in her body, especially Adora "Not bad" she purrs at herself, giving herself a wink.
Waiting for Scorpia to choose her own dress, she picked at her nails, giving the white hair girl a half-nervous smile when she came out with a Lolita dress. After waiting a couple more minutes, Scorpia finally appeared with a beautiful black dress. It almost made Catra's heart skip a beat, but she only extended her hand for the girl to take. She knew this night was going to be unforgettable.
As Catra walked into the hall, she smirked. She felt completely out of her element, yet confident enough that she could impress everyone in this room if they didn't know she was part of the horde. She looked around for Adora but she didn't see the blond girl, which made her a bit disappointed. Still, she continued about the room, she had inspected the invitation thoroughly, making sure she didn't do anything that would quickly expose her plans.
Starting to feel like Adora didn't show up for this prom, Catra sighed. She looked at the young ruler who was sitting on their ice throne. She bowed, but before she could say anything a voice interrupted her.
"Revered hostess! You can't let them in. They are from the Horde!"
Hearing Adora's voice always did something weird to Catra, it always made her want to burst into a smile and the blonde's voice also made another little person squirm. She laid a hand on her stomach and bowed one more time, the gesture mixing in with her excellent manners. Manners she practiced before getting here. "Revered Hostess," Catra spoke up, "Princess Scorpia was invited as per the rules of this ball. Rules I have the utmost respect for." Standing back straight, she shot a smirk toward Adora, sticking out her tongue at her.
The blond looked at her annoyed "No you do not!"
The ice princess scowled at Adora "Princess Adora the rules state clearly that all princesses and their chosen guests are welcome."
"Bu-but" Adora stutters "they are up to something; I can feel it. You have to-"
Frosta rolled her eyes "ENOUGH! You look at me and see me as a child. I have worked so hard to gain respect and to keep the ice kingdom as a neutral ground. I will not throw that away, just because you feel like they are up to something. Princess Scorpia gets a plus one and they stay!"
And with that, Catra watches as Adora and her sparkly friends, get manhandled by guards and thrown away from the throne platform. This brought immense joy to Catra. Coming down from the platform Catra smirked at Adora "Really, Adora? I'm shocked, we are not breaking any rules. Didn't you read the invite?"
Adora scowled at her "I know you are up to something and I will not take my eye out of you, till the second the ball ends. I will follow you everywhere!"
"Oh Adora, you are so romantic..." Catra teased, making Adora blush while a frown played on her face "Suit yourself, have fun following us!" Walking away she and Scorpia split, she was going to serve as a great distraction while Scorpia would get everything ready.
Catra took a note out of her pocket and wrote a teasing note before moving swiftly about the crowd of people. She knew that Adora wasn't far behind her and it made her feel excited. She passed a small box before stuffing the note on it and then moving right along. Giggling when Adora, digs through it, only to blush in embarrassment, when she read the note.
For a second, she stopped at the tiny food table and grabbed a couple, before climbing up to the second floor, she was never one to use stairs, it just wasn't in her nature. She let out a chuckle as she watched Adora struggle to find her. Smelling the tiny food, she raised an eyebrow, opening her mouth, she raised the tiny food to eat it but before she could she stumbled into somebody, making her groan "Hey! Watch where you are going!"
A girl with soft purple hair stood in front of her "Princess prom… hour one… 26 minutes. I've been walked into by a distracted..." she looked at Catra up and down "Cat… It seems, she is angry at me for being in the way, even though she was the one not looking" the girl, looked at Catra before looking at the small plate in her hand "Uuhh! Tiny food!" her hair came forward, grabbing the plate and shoving a tiny food in her mouth before pocketing the rest "Thank you for the food my friend! I didn't see you coming, I was trying to watch the people. I tend to get… distracted."
Catra laid against the railing, she glared at the purple-haired girl "You know, at least say your name before stealing a girl's food. That way I know who I'm killing."
Laughing the girl gave Catra a wide smile "Of course! My name is Entrapta!" she stepped forward, her face a little too close to Catra's "You seem like a very nice person, would you like to spy on people with me?" Catra raised an eyebrow but before she could speak Entrapta continued "I've been trying to get the best vantage point but I can't seem to be able to get any closer!"
Stepping back, Catra blinked, before letting out a laugh. She kind of liked this girl. Looking toward the people, she perched on the railing, her tail wiggling happily "Why don't you climb on the railing, like this? I can see a perfect view of people."
Entraptas eyes shone with admiration, as she watched Catra get down from the railing. "Of course! Why didn't I think of that?" Standing near the railing, she climbed it, in awe of the view. Taking the small recorder with her hair, she brings it close to her mouth, "Princess prom, hour two… 37 minutes…."
Catra watched as Entrapta swayed back and forth before sighing. For some reason, she felt like if she let the girl fall, she would feel guilty. So, walking forward she grabbed Entrapta before she could fall to her demise.
"Don't touch her!"
Catra helps Entrapta get down from the railing before looking toward the person who just yelled at her. There stood Adora, heaving in and out of breath as if she just ran all the way there. Smirking Catra pulled Entrapta closer, making the blond frown.
Entrapta looked between the two of them with a smile, her eyes lingering on Catra's face, "You are right that was a much better vantage point for my social experiment." She looked toward Adora, "Hi, Adora have you met my new assistant? She brought snacks." She pulled a tiny piece of food from her pocket and ate it.
Laughing Catra spoke, "She stole my food and then asked me to spy on people. Is this what love feels like?" She saw Adora grimace before she pulled Entrapta to her side. Catra could hear everything, it kind of made her feel a lump in her throat as she heard all the things that Adora was saying about her, like not even a couple of months ago, they were declaring their love.
Not wanting to listen anymore, she stepped away. She stepped down the stairs and she heard the ice princess proclaim that the dance would commence and the lights dim. She was never a good dancer, but as she sees Adora being pulled into the dance and watching her stand alone under the spotlight, made her feel a certain way. Sighing, she stood in front of the blond who looked lost but before the blond looked at her, she schooled her expression "I don't know about you but I'm having a blast" she smirked, as they started swaying to the music.
Narrowing her eyes, Adora frowned, "Whatever you are planning, is not going to work."
Catra chuckled and moved forward her faces an inch from each other. "Are you sure?" she whispered, a little more seductive than condescending. She could clearly see how Adora's eyes, just glazed over with want and it made her panic a bit, when the blond started to lower her head, as if going for a kiss.
But before anything can happen Catra twirls Adora away, she herself twirling toward somebody else, who lifts her, making her squeak in surprise. The man twirls Catra one more time, making her land back first against Adora. Breathing in she composed herself "Maybe my plan won't work" she said, feeling Adora's hand on her hip, she felt like it slowly was going up. This made Catra panic, any closer and she feared Adora would start to feel—before the blonde's hand could go any further up she grabbed her hand turning their positions and dipping Adora down. "But then again, maybe it already has!"
Adora's eyes grow in surprise at her words, before Catra spins her away from her, and then pulls her back. Catra left a gap between them, as she twirled and spun Adora, laughing evilly. "Say..." she stops Adora just an inch away, enough to not give away any secrets "Where's your friend? Bow?"
And this catches Adora by surprise, pushing Catra away, she glares at the feline, "What did you do to him!?"
Catra smirked, "Nothing permanent."
Before Catra could let out a laugh, Adora pounced on her. Both of them spun on the floor as they fought and then Adora held her up by her collar, she was always impressed with how strong Adora was. She wasn't just lifting Catra, she was also lifting the extra human inside of her. She smirked down at Adora who glared at her.
"What did you do to bo—" but before Adora could finish, ice covered her surroundings, forcing her to let go of Catra.
Catra stepped away, a smirk playing on her face, as she watched her ex-lover be trapped by ice. She watched as the small queen reprimanded her, and didn't let Adora speak when she tried to explain herself. Tapping her foot, Catra became anxious, not understanding why the bombs hadn't gone off. But before she started to think that the plan had failed, bombs went off all around her. 'Perfect' she thinks as a smile plays on her lips.
Noticing how Glimmer disappears, she looks toward Adora who is glaring at her "Catra. What did you do?!" says the blond as she is still trapped in the ice.
Shrugging, Catra smiled, "I did nothing. But Kyle, Lonnie, and Scorpia on the other hand were very busy..." She chuckled, getting closer to the ice entrapment.
"This isn't a game!" Adora glares at Catra, "People can get hurt!"
Glaring at the blonde, Catra scratches the ice, "It's never been a game to me! I'm after something bigger and no one will stop me… not even you!" turning around she ran to escape, after all, Scorpia and the team was probably just waiting on her.
Running away Catra grunted, she didn't really know how to get out of there since the palace was practically collapsing because of her plan and to make matters worse Adora, had somehow escaped and was hot on her heels. She turned the corner, only to notice that it was a dead end.
"Nowhere to run!" says Adora as she stands behind her.
Catra looked around in a panic before noticing the floating rocks, she looked back at Adora with a smirk "That's what you think!" jumping on the rock as it floated upwards, Catra continued her way up. She needed to get away as fast as possible.
But no matter how fast Catra jumped up or ran away, Adora seemed to be hot on her heels. She sucks in a breath when she notices that the ship that was supposed to be there was long gone and that Adora was right behind her. In other words, she was trapped. Letting out a squeak when Adora starts throwing a furry of punches and kicks. She hisses, avoiding all her attacks.
If there was something Catra was good at, it was avoiding and it wasn't just punches she was talking about. She let out her own fury of attacks on Adora and the blond was just as good at dodging as she was, and this just irritated her. The fact that she couldn't land, not even a tiny punch on the blonde. Because God knew that Adora deserved to be hit by her after… after…
Her thoughts went blank as Adora moved out of the way and she continued forward. Her eyes widen, when she slips off the cliff. And she closes her eyes, expecting to fall into the abyss. But when nothing, happens she slowly opens them back up. Only to see an angry Adora holding her by her waist.
Breathing hard Adora slowly pulls her up and her hands go up to Catra's collar. They both stare at each other before Adora's eyes soften and Catra can see how it seems to glaze over with want. And Adora leans closer and Catra panics at the space between them.
Catra's eyes widen, lifting her hands and crossing them around Adora's lips, pushing her away, "What are you doing?!" she screeches in a panic.
Adora's hands travel down Catra's arms, her hands dropping from Adora's face. And Adora's look has changed now, looking at her with both hurt and want, "Catra…" the blond rasped out, "I love you."
Catra's eyes widened, and her thoughts ran a mile a minute. This wasn't the time for a confession! They were mortal enemies now, not even a minute ago they were throwing punches at each other. And her thoughts seemed to stop when she felt Adora press a long and hard kiss on her lips. And it was forceful and wanting but it made Catra feel bitter. But that didn't mean that she couldn't get lost in the kiss and for a second, she felt herself relax, her mind going blank. But then she remembered, remembered the change in her body, what she was hiding. She couldn't let their bodies get closer, so she pushed at the blonde's shoulders forcefully.
Finally, she managed to push Adora away, rubbing the back of her hand on her lips with disgust, "What is wrong with you!" Her heart was pumping hard and she could hear it loud in her ears.
"Catra, I love you!" Adora said again while Catra glared at her, "Let's stop this, please! I want us to be together again."
Catra laughed because she didn't want to cry in front of this idiot, who she believes is bipolar. After all, one second the blonde could go from hating her to loving her and begging her to return to a relationship, that she herself destroyed the moment she decided to abandon Catra.
Adora extended her hand, looking at Catra with pleading eyes "Catra, please…" her blue eyes softened, "I miss you..."
And for a moment Catra's hand twitched, and her arm started to extend. It felt like Adora was far away but in reality, she was just an inch away. she can feel the baby moving, and she knows it's feeling all of Catra's emotions and she pauses.
'Adora left you'
'She has new friends; she doesn't need you'
'She says she loves you but yet it was so easy for her to walk away'
'You have never been enough'
Catra's hand retracted, plagued by her thoughts but not before Adora moved forward, reaching for her. But Catra hissed, scratching at Adora's hand, making the blond wince in pain and pull her hand back, "You don't get to say those things to me, Adora! Not now, not ever!" Catra hisses, tears forming in her eyes "I wasn't the one that walked away from you!"
At that moment the floor started to shake, making the edge of the cliff crack, and Catra fell backward. Her eyes widen in surprise, looking up as the edge becomes distant. It brings back memories of that time at the sea gate, looking up at Adora as the blonde completely ignored her and let her fall. But unlike that time, her eyes open in surprise when Adora jumps off to her rescue.
Adora grabs her by the hand as her other hand grabs the pin in her hair, digging it on the ice wall. It holds them both up and Adora groans, as her hand stretches from the weight "Hang on! I can get us out of this!"
Catra's ears twitch as a peculiar noise catches her attention, and she smirks up at Adora, who looks at her in confusion "Oh, Adora" she says softly, making Adora shiver "I don't want you to" digging her nails into Adora's hand she made the blond hiss in pain, letting go of Catra's hand.
"Catra!" she screams in fear. But before any other thought could be processed a ship appeared from the clouds under her. And Catra was laughing, as she caressed the hair of an unconscious Glimmer and Bow.
Catra smirked an evil laugh escaping her lips, "See you later, princess" and with that she left a hanging Adora behind, pushing down the disgusting feeling in her throat.
Landing in the Fight Zone, Catra quickly took an unconscious Bow to his cell, and when she took Glimmer to Shadow Weaver, the dark lady almost looked proud of her. She even petted Catra, making her giddy at the affection that Shadow Weaver only had reserved for Adora but now it was directed at her, and she felt almost…. Happy...?
After Catra was done briefing Shadow Weaver, she made her way toward her room. She felt proud of herself and a smile played on her face. And she caressed her growing belly, but not long after she felt a familiar pain course all the way through her and she grunted falling to her knees. A painful hiss left her lips, as the pain got stronger and she just couldn't understand why. It was the happiest she's ever been. Shadow Weaver had recognized her and she had one-upped Adora, so why… was her body reacting like this?
"Wildcat!"
Catra heard in the background, her eyes were ringing from the pain and she couldn't focus. She blinked a couple of times, her vision going double and she could faintly see the silhouette of Scorpia running toward her before fainting.
