Rancis took Tails back to his parents place to warm up and so he could rest a little. Calhoun and Felix took pity on the poor fox. Tails sipped on his cocoa as he told his story to them.

"Being honest, my game isn't even delisted. But it might as well be, I haven't been played in a long time. You know, it's one thing to be made fun of for having 2 tails. It's another to be made fun of for a game you have no control over. Me and my friends came here hoping for a better life but, so far it hasn't been easy" said Tails

"You poor thing" said Calhoun

"Just hang in there little buddy, times will change. Care for some more cocoa?" Felix asked

"Yes please, with some more marshmallows. I love marshmallows" said Tails

Calhoun and Felix got up and went to the kitchen, leaving Rancis alone with tails.

"I know how you feel Tails, I used to be a pretty bad racer in my old game, I got made fun of it, a lot. I never once won first place for 15 years. Pathetic, I know. Now all my friends say I shouldn't even be flying. I wanna be a great pilot, I just need some more practice is all" said Rancis

"I suppose I could be willing to help you, assuming you keep your promise of helping me" said Tails

"My friend Vanellope and her friend Ralph, they run this city. Help me and I will ask them to make a special holiday just for characters like you. They too were misfits, treated badly. They'd understand" said Rancis

"Well then, we better get you started" said Tails "So, what do you fly?"

Later on, Tails gave Rancis his first lessons. Rancis stood next to the castle in his adult body with a trainer x wing fighter. The trainer had 2 seats in it, 1 for Rancis, and the other for Tails should he need to take over.

"I've flown these before in my free time, should be a piece of cake teaching you" said Tails

Tails started the fighter and took off, and asked Rancis to show him what he could do. For the most part, Rancis was a good pilot, but there was room for improvement. Over the next couple of weeks, Tails taught Rancis all these cool moves, which Rancis learned quickly. Rancis even learned how to avoid attacks by flying close to the Decepticon city as well as the imperial star destroyer high above the city. Tails explained many things to Rancis, such as the right times to attack something, when to run, when a specific flip or turn was useful, he learned a lot of things. The most important thing Rancis learned, which was something he wished he knew his first week, was never engage a large ship alone.

Upon hearing that, Rancis flashed back to the city's first major battle, he charged a Nazi airship and was immediately shot down and captured. The Star destroyer was stronger than the airship, that he knew from another experience. He'd take these lessons to heart.

During this time Rancis also got to know Tails' friends better. There was his best friend, Sonic the hedgehog, who could run crazy fast, but could also be lazy or rude depending on the situation. There was Amy Rose, a pink hedgehog who was trying to start up a restaurant of her own. Then there was Knuckles, a red echidna who was strong but dumb, but lovable and had his moments. Then there was Sticks, a badger who seemed a little crazy, and lived outside the city, hating technology for the most part.

As for Rancis' own friends, his girlfriend Vanellope was very supportive as well as his parents, even Ralph supported him. The racers, while they still felt his hobby was stupid, they were glad he found something that made him happy. Soon Rancis became a master flyer, and Tails rewarded him by building him that airfield he wanted to build so badly.

"Consider it a graduation present" said Tails

Rancis was very happy with his gift. It was only a matter of time before he could teach others. Rancis kept his promise to Tails, and had Vanellope and Ralph create a new holiday, misfits day, which would be held February 3rd every year for the time being. The 2 gave a speech to a crowd of people in the park to talk about it.

"Sad as it is, not all of us are treated as equals. Whether they're villains like me. Or characters from bad games, glitches, or those who made bad decisions in their former lives. We can't change our pasts no matter how much we want to, but on this day, we honor everyone for their roles" said Ralph

"So today, we celebrate those who are untreated unfairly. Everyone deserves to have a happy life here. Heck, me and stinkbrain here are misfits, just ask anyone we know" said Vanellope

The crowd gave a laugh at that comment.

"So treat everyone you know with kindness, because we're watching you" said Vanellope

The crowd clapped and cheered. The villains and characters from bad games, such as tails and his friends, were happy. It felt nice to be appreciated. All around, people complimented them, helped them around the city, some people offered them treats. For once, they didn't feel bad about their old roles, and that made them happy. If this continued, who knows, maybe living in this small city wouldn't be so bad after all.
