It was a beautiful afternoon in the city, things were fine, no major trouble or anything. At the castle, Ralph was seeing his friend Vanellope off. She and Rancis were going out and leaving him in charge of watching their 5 year old kids.

"Don't you worry about a thing, go have fun. I can take care of them well" said Ralph

"Alright. Call if you need us for anything. We'll be back late so make sure to get the kids to bed" said Vanellope

"I promise" said Ralph

Vanellope and Rancis left, leaving Ralph alone. He went up to the castle's 3rd floor, where the families rooms were as well as the twins' playroom. He entered the playroom and saw them playing.

"Hi grandpa" the twins replied

"Hey kids, just you and me now. You need anything?" Ralph asked

"No, we're good right now" they replied

Seeing he wasn't needed at the moment, Ralph merely sat down on the couch and turned on the tv. He watched Lucy having a tea party with some my little pony dolls and Kevin having a mock battle with some toy soldiers. Being royalty, Kevin and Lucy had lots of toys to play with, Rancis and a Vanellope having spoiled them a bit.

Ralph didn't like how they spoiled them, but having a lot of toys kept the twins happy and occupied for the most part. Ralph watched the 2 play for a bit, eventually mixing their toys with each other. One minute Lucy was having a tea party, another her toys were defending a castle from Kevin's toys

"Hey grandpa, why don't you join us?" Kevin asked

"You sure? You know how big I am" said Ralph

The twins beckoned him over and he joined their play.

"You'll never take our castle" said Lucy with her toys

"For the empire" said Kevin with a stormtrooper figure in hand

Ralph grabbed a couple figures and helped Kevin take the castle, much to Lucy's annoyance

"I'll get you next time" said Lucy

"It's just playtime kid, don't take it too seriously. I've faced the imperials before, they're tough people" said Ralph

"Glad I don't have to deal with them" said Lucy

"I don't see you winning a battle with them sis. I can't imagine you with a lightsaber or blaster charging against them" said Kevin "you're too nice for that"

"Yeah, like that'll ever happen. Nah, just keep that stuff in our playtime" said Lucy

Afterwards Ralph did something he and Vanellope enjoyed doing, making a pillow fort. The 3 grabbed as many cushions as they could and began stacking them, eventually making their fort. After playing some more in the fort, they played hide and seek just as it began to rain outside. After setting boundaries on where they could go, Ralph began counting. The twins went to hide, Kevin hiding in a spare guest room in a closet, and Lucy hiding in one of the storage rooms in a tower attic.

"Grandpa will never find me here" said Lucy quietly to herself

It thundered outside, causing Lucy to glitch a little. The attic she was in was dark, lit with a single window from outside. She put her hands in her hoodie pockets and went to find a place to sit. A flash of lightning lit the room and she was startled to see what looked like a human head, but it was made of metal, and looked scary. She backed up and hit something under a blanket. She was grabbed by a metal arm, causing her to scream, which helped Ralph find her. Lucy rushed to her grandpa and hugged him in fright.

"Grandpa, what is that thing?"

Lucy pointed to the arm. It was dark gray and had 2 wrist mounted blasters. It had a light tan colored head with 2 eyes and no mouth peeking out from under the blanket. It appeared to be some kind of robot from what Lucy could see.

"Don't worry Lucy, he won't hurt you. That thing actually saved your life when you were just a baby. Could never get him working. Don't worry, you're safe, I won't let anything hurt you" Ralph assured her

"That saved my life?" Lucy asked

"When you're a little older I'll tell you all about him. You and Kevin are gonna accomplish great things I assure you. We just haven't reached that point yet" said Ralph

Lucy chose not to push the issue so she could leave the attic. Before she left she saw a beautiful pink princess dress close to her size, but shook the thought of it away, she didn't want to come back up here.

After finding Kevin, Ralph ordered some dinner from Tappers for delivery. After a half hour it arrived at their door, Kevin had his favorite meal of chicken tenders and fries, while Lucy had her favorite being a cheeseburger with fries, with Ralph also having a burger. Ralph was even nice enough to order milkshakes for them all.

After eating, Ralph made sure they bathed, Rancis would want them nice and clean. After washing them and getting them warm in their pajamas and bathrobes, the 3 settled down in the playroom to watch movies. By the time it was 10, it was time for the twins to go to bed. He went to their bedrooms one at a time and tucked them in, wishing them sweet dreams.

Soon after, Rancis and Vanellope finally came home from their night out.

"I hope they weren't too much trouble" said Vanellope

"Not at all, we had a great time" said Ralph

"I knew we could count on you" said Rancis
