Being a Raven Guard soldier was something to deal with… They did not care for honor, nor try to protect themselves. They were the emperor's blades, his knives stabbing into the enemies of the Imperium.

And it was no different attempting to tell them differently. They fought and they died for the emperor… But they would fight all the same.

It was part of what made their work so different… They knew more and more that work was duty, duty was beyond what they did.

Something within them was too much, it would remain too much for now… And that would not change it for now….

It was something the Raven Guard knew well… And unlike their enemy?

The Astartes dueled a monstrous blue figure which was swiftly cut down by a knife to the throat.

Night Lords… The cowards who caused suffering, who took men and women, hostage, for no reason other than to torture them, to beat their cries into a howl of agony heard for star systems.

Here? Upon Vohiri? They would die as the Raven Guard hunted down their hideous ilk and slayed them like the beasts they wished to be.

He knew they lived in the shadows, claimed to hide within them like his brothers… But there was no grace, no shadows…. They hunted and killed like thugs, not soldiers.

He was a warrior; they were thugs in armor claiming to be Astartes… He was a soldier now; he would not think of what was growing on his mind.

He was odd, too thrown off by what was occurring… He was all too much.

It would be odd now, far too much for. It would remain too much for now.

He looked up to see another Thunderhawk. He was curious how many soldiers would have been killed.

It was more than they wanted and more than anyone needed now and good… Ended now.

All part of the plan, all part of the battle… Such things were beyond him and them all.

The Raven Guard had a war to be waged, it was something beyond chaotic for now.

It was all too much. They had a lot of different ideas; he would continue to relax.

Raven Guard stuck together…. So? He would do so… But he did not decide to deal with it.

"Lieutenant? Where are you currently?" He heard as he hummed.

"Clearing sector 14… The traitors are infesting the ammo dumps." He heard as he paused and then looked to the side.

Something about this battle had been too much for now. It was terrifying, it was too much for now. They had to fight for now.

So, they would fight the enemy… He had to distract himself for the time being as he cracked his fingers.

He was bored, curious as he paused once more… He had to distract himself for now.

The Raven Guard had to distract him from work at the end of the day. He was curious as he paused to relax, he was unsure of himself.

They all had work to do… They had plenty of work to do now and that was just how it was.

They would fight and people would die. Hopefully? It was the enemy more than those who wished not to deal with it for now.

It was more to deal with… And being Raven Guard? The fight did not end, numbers dwindled… Soldiers like him became rarer and rarer.

Which meant they had to hunt and they hunted very well now. Something about it all had been too much to deal with.

It was more than they wished. More than he would have liked now at the time being… It had to be done now.

It would end, all such things ended now…. It had been too much.

He was curious and eager to relax. It was more than they wished. It was too much.

He was about to order his group forward slowly as he paused, prepared for another battle now… Something new.

He was curious as he thought of his next move.

And the flash of light swallowed them whole. Then? Both legions were gone, now and forever.

Phew. Another chapter is done! I wanted to do something with the Raven Guard for a while. The next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will end up showing the Raven Guard dealing with being stranded in another galaxy and such. The next chapter will be 900-6500 words and will also end up showing more and more of their work for now.
